I Love TutorBird!

Vorteile:

I love the ease of this product and how it moves all things into one space and I am not trying to put multiple platforms, it is all together!

Nachteile:

The calendar app keeps adding the old meetings when I add a new one, so I have multiple reminders on my Google Calendar and I cannot delete them.

Great platform for running a growing tutoring business!

Kommentare: We needed a platform to help us manage our rapidly growing company...we needed one system to manage our instructor and client schedules, invoicing, contractor payroll, etc. We evaluated several companies, and TutorBird stood out and we've been extremely happy with our choice. The platform works great for virtually all of our needs, the support team is knowledgeable, friendly and responsive, and improvements and updates are frequent. Great platform, great company - we've been extremely happy to be part of the TutorBird family!

Vorteile:

Streamlines our entire operation from tutor scheduling and calendar management to client scheduling to invoicing and contractor payroll management all in one easy to use platform. Responsive, knowledgeable and friendly customer service team!

Nachteile:

The platform is generally very flexible, but I would like some more flexibility in client specific settings - some settings are global and not easily customized to an individual client need.

Best tool I found for a tutoring company

Many options , easy to personalize to each student needs

Nachteile:

No undo button. Once you did something is very hard to repair. The view on the iPhone, there are some features missing still. Sometimes is having errors and I need to check manually all payments, the note taking system is very confusing. Most important the most important report is missing. How much I spent for a student (by paying other tutors) and how much is left for the company. If I want to make a discount, I need to calculate manually

Great one stop shop

Vorteile:

The one stop shop aspect to TutorBird is the best! My students all over the world can access their portal, notes, scheduling, invoicing, after class notes, my blog and resources I add for them. It's an awesome tracking tool for them as well!

Nachteile:

I wish students could buy a bulk package and not be scheduled and use invoicing. I have to use another system to allow bulk package purchases.

I love the platforms

I like that TutorBird offers a comprehensive platform that simplifies the management of tutoring businesses. The website tools, but the rest it`s amazing

Great but automate more

Kommentare: Overall, I have enjoyed using TB, it has definitely streamlined things for me and simplified aspects of my business. Some.of the things that dont work for me are user issues but i have recommended it to others, and support its use in a range of groups for tutors.

Vorteile:

I love how simple it is to make notes on sessions. I like the ease of invoicing.

Nachteile:

Manual entry of expenses. No automation of mileage for clients you see regularly.

Saved us hours of admin time + a Customer Support Team that actually cares

Vorteile:

TutorBird has saved us hours of time when it comes to creating invoices, creating sessions, and sending session notes with their email & SMS automations. Most importantly, throughout my entire onboarding experience, I felt supported along the way thanks to their customer team. Huge shout out to you [sensitive content hidden] for walking me through the ropes in our virtual calls. They went above and beyond with answering my questions based on my use case and even gave practical tips that I did not think about. If you're looking for a product that can save your hours every week from admin work, and a company that truly cares about helping you grow your business, then TutorBird is where it's at.

Nachteile:

There are a few UX suggestions that I gave to the team related to modifying the invoice details, email and SMS info, etc. [sensitive content hidden] from their customer team took all of my requests and shared it with the Product team. This shows that they are committed to building a product that serves their customers.

Useful platform, just needs to have simpler descriptions.

Kommentare: I'm still trying to get into a rhythm with using TutorBird to create my invoices. Every month, it feels like I'm having to re-learn how to make the invoices the way I like them.

Vorteile:

Platform for all my tutoring needs - calendar, invoicing, website

Nachteile:

A few things: - some things are difficult to navigate. For example, each month, I have to manually change my invoice through my business profile in order to have the invoice number by the month and year. - I'd like to have more control over what is printed on the Description for the invoices. - I'd like to be able to automatically input Venmo and PayPal. Right now, I have to manually input those transactions. - I'd like to be able to change the format of how wide the lines of the invoice are. I'd like the option of "fit to page" - I started to create my website using TutorBird, but ran into difficulties where I couldn't delete or back out one of my selections. It's not obvious how to do this. I had to abandon the task.

Lifesaver App for every Tutor

Kommentare: It's great! Respect for the programmers. They put a lot of sweat into this!

Vorteile:

Easy to use, functional, does not log you out. And it can be used on all platforms, PC, laptop, mobile phone, etc.

Nachteile:

Some reporting functions are limited, and also the email and text message templates cannot all be changed.

Feature request

Kommentare: It is great overall, I would to know if there’s a way to calculate commissions too.
For example, a student pays $100. The tutor completes the class and he needs to be paid $50. The tutoring business is run by two people in which the profits are split equally. So not only do I want to know that I have to pay the tutor $50, I also want to know how much is owed to each partner in the business which in this case will be equal. Partner 1 received $25 and Partner 2 also receives $25

Vorteile:

Being able to easily see how much a tutor is owed at the end of the month.

Nachteile:

Not sure what’s the difference between “absent, give make up credit” and “absent, no make up credit”? They both count towards the payroll

Good Service for the Price

Vorteile:

Out of all the individual tutoring business options, this is by far the best I've found, especially for the price! $14.95 USD per month is great for all the services TutorBird provides. I created a website through them, and for the most part, it does everything I need it to. Their support team is also quite responsive.

Nachteile:

While the website does everything I need it to, it certainly lacks the ability to customize. You have to use their website building blocks, and there is little you can do outside of what they provide. I also would like to see improvement for tutors and learners in different time zones. For those of us who travel, it would be extremely helpful to simply change the time zone in settings, then have the lessons reflect that new time. However, you have to do all of that VERY manually.

Very good for tutoring

Kommentare: Very positive. If scheduling is alligned to acuity would fit my needs 100%.

Vorteile:

Invoicing and attendance are the most important for my daily business.

Nachteile:

Appointment schedulinf in terms of versatility. I would like to have a link to web for my students to be able to book by themselves. I would also like to use zoom links but not the PMI of my zoom account. I have already asked for this feature before. It is critical to my job.

All in one

Vorteile:

I love what Tutorbird offers - all in one space that allows me to view the schedule of lessons, information about the students and their lessons, as well as take payment.

Nachteile:

The Website builder is a little frustrating because there is limited customization. It may be fine in the long run but I miss being able to make simple changes to the font size and style so the words can fit.

TutorBird Easily Pays for Itself - Saves Time, Increases Efficiency and Improves Cash Flow

Kommentare: Using TutorBird means I spend far less time on all the boring admin jobs I loathe, which gives me more time to spend doing the teaching I love (and get paid for). The advice given during the initial training session was to introduce a small late payment fee and my goodness this has been revolutionary for my small business. Since joining Tutorbird and doing this, my invoices are all calculated automatically, go out on time and, more importantly, get paid quickly too. I no longer have to chase clients for payment each month. My increased productivity means TutorBird more than pays for itself.

Vorteile:

Fabulous customer support from real people who speak excellent English. The free trial period with a remote live session with a TutorBird trainer to help me set up was brilliant and definitely influenced my decision to take a paid subscription. I love the way everything is customisable so I still feel in control and yet automated which saves me a great deal of time, money and stress.

Nachteile:

TutorBird is so sophisticated and customisable that I don’t think I’m using all the options as much as I could (rather like research that shows people who buy computerised washing machines with many programmes and combinations, usually only use three of the many options available to them and never even try the rest). There are a few things I find difficult to understand and implement, e.g. the ‘make up credit’ options. Therefore, I think it would be a great idea for TutorBird to offer a 1:1 live training session for an hour each year (on renewal) to go through my account with me and check I’m making full use of all the many facilities TutorBird offers.

Loving Tutorbird

Kommentare: I absoultely love Tutorbird and I am excited to see how it continues to grow and meet the needs of it's clients.

Vorteile:

I love TutorBird because it is very user-friendly for my students and parents. It has intake forms I can put on my website, it has easy calendar and session booking use and easy invoicing and payroll features. I love the YouTube videos that are there to explain how to set up and use the features and the customer support is a bonus.

Nachteile:

Right now there are slight feature requests that would be great to have in the future. A way for my students to rate/review their tutors after each session. A way for me to set category pricing and not base it off student pricing. For example, my open slot drop in sessions should be one price for all.

Pros and Cons of Tutor Bird

Kommentare: I love the invoice feature and invoice reminders for my families. I also love the end-of-the-year reports that I give to my tax preparer and to my families for their taxes.

Vorteile:

I like how easy it is to use the scheduling program. I love that I can drop and drag students easily to different days. Love the ability to schedule reoccurring appointments.

Nachteile:

I dislike that all payment types incur a fee. If Venmo does not cost to do payments in their app it should not cost to do them in this program.I also wish that you had an integrated way to do video lessons with students. Something like the Site Pearl uses.

Game Changer for Online Tutoring!

Kommentare: Tutorbird was a game changer for my small business. It has greatly helped me streamline all of the admin pieces of running a business (tracking attendance, calendar management, lesson reminders to clients, invoicing, parent notes/communication, tracking expenses, and even sending automotive birthday emails to my students! It seriously has everything I need to run a successful tutoring business.

Vorteile:

As a reading specialist, my expertise is NOT in software, calendar management, invoicing, etc... Tutorbird allows me to not worry about that (and spend my valuable time on trying to manage the admin side of running a business)! I am able to focus on teaching. The emails and invoices are very professional and it is nice to have everything in one place.

Nachteile:

Honestly, there are none at this time. My biggest was around lost notes because there was no autosave feature, which they just changed! YAY!

Review of TutorBird

Kommentare: As I moved away from teaching on a platform to build my own business, TutorBird has made it easy for my students.

Vorteile:

I like that my students can log in to book lessons and that they can pay me through the platform.

Nachteile:

I don't think that I fully take advantage of all the features that the platform offers, so I should probably try to learn about them. I would appreciate it if the calendar could link to my Google calendar (both ways) - just for lessons booked, not all lessons available.

Tutorbird has helped my tutoring business grow!

Kommentare: It has been great. Any time I've had questions someone has helped me. I can't imagine having my tutoring business without it!

Vorteile:

Before tutorbird, I was having a hard time keeping track of all of my tutoring students. Many students and families were missing scheduled meetings. Now, Tutorbird allows me to create easy and professional invoices and keep track of payments. I love that feature that allows parents and students to receive automated email and text reminders before appointments. I LIVE on tutorbird and now enter all of my lessons on the calendar so they automatically populate on my phone!

Nachteile:

I honestly have not had any features that are missing. One thing that would be great is to have multiple business accounts available under one log-in. For example- one for my yoga class appointments and another for my tutoring appointments. That way, when parents/learners receive an automated reminder it will say which company it's coming from.

Worthwhile Investment

Kommentare: I have been thrilled with Tutorbird as my office management system for my online tutoring business. I would, and have, recommended it to many others!

Vorteile:

Tutorbird has revolutionized my tutoring business and lessened the stress of running the day-to-day aspects. I love that it is easy to use and can accomplish so many tasks all in one place. Getting things together for taxes was a breeze thanks to Tutorbird.

Nachteile:

The only con I've found so far is that there isn't a way to collect payments though multiple means. Currently, you are limited to Stripe and Paypal, but you have to choose.

Managing my students.

Kommentare: Helpful system, mostly intuitive with the help desk on hand for questions. Love the automations. It would be helpful for a quicker turn around with questions and for it to integrate with other tools.

Vorteile:

That I can receive enquiries, schedule my students, invoice them, and then set it up the invoice automatically and receive the payments as well.

Nachteile:

It doesn't integrate with other platforms and tools such as Calendly, Zapier, Pencil Spaces.

Nothing better than Tutorbird

Vorteile:

The features of Tutorbird fit perfectly into my business. There is no other product, that is nearly as good as tutorbird.

Nachteile:

There could be localisations in other languages in Tutorbird in the future, but almost everyone in Germany is good in the english language, so it works without it too.

TutorBird is a MUST

Kommentare: I've been better able to manage my busy tutoring schedule, add tutors to my business and have more time to do what I enjoy most - teach. I am thankful that I have TutorBird to help with invoicing, payment tracking, and reminders. It has saved me so much time!

Vorteile:

I love the reliability of TutorBird. It helped me take my business to the next level. Calendar based billing is the essential feature I value the most.

Nachteile:

I'd like my other tutors to be able to see their families payment history without having full admin rights. I haven't figured this out yet.

The calendar is my most used feature. I don't think I could organise my students without this. Then it's the invoices.

Nachteile:

I don't like how the payment for Tutors works There's only an option to pay tutors.I would like to have an option of 'pay tutors for last month/last week'. Basically a time frame

Nachteile:

I wish scheduling timeslots were easier for students. A two-way sync calendar and scheduling link would be ideal, integrating a system such as Calendly, for example.
