Kommentare: My experience with DataRails has been first class. I have assisted with a seamless integration for Budgeting purposes and have now rolled out the solution for month end reporting. In both scenario's I have been able to reduce the time required for completion by around 40%. I particularly like the approach of having the Customer Success Manager driving the implementation and having the single point of contact through the customer journey.

Vorteile:

The ease in which the product was to learn and become and expert in. The functionality within the solution is exactly what any FP&A professional should be looking for in a solution. The implementation was extremely efficient as you start to build out real life business processes from the outset which mean you get a return on investment from day 1.

Nachteile:

When deciding to partner with DataRails I was fully aware that they are at the beginning of solution development journey. However, DataRails are always keen to receive feedback on possible suggestions for improvement and are continuously developing and releasing improved functionality.

Fantastic and Flexible Reporting Software

Kommentare: Our setup and integration was extremely easy and fast. I was the dedicated builder and PM for the implementation for a 200+ store retails company and we were able to sync, validate and build out of data in just under 7 weeks. We've only had a few system hiccups along the way that Datarails has fixed or addressed with reasonably speed. We've been very happy with the decision to work with Datarails and foresee that that feeling will remain for a long time to come.

Vorteile:

Datarails' direct integration with Excel has allowed our team to pick up using the system very quickly. It gives us the flexibility of Excel without having to worry about massive data tables or SQL pulls to get the data to represent in a proper manner. Datarails is constantly improving and they continue to work with their customers to advance their software and address needs. The sky is the limit for cuts of data that Datarails can provide, and with nearly constant improvement over our now two years of use, our satisfaction with the software grows with each passing month.

Nachteile:

It's strength with Excel is also it's weakness. Reports are only as good as the logic that is layered into Excel, so it necessitates numerous data checks to ensure that our numbers are accurate. Fortunately, Datarails makes those overall checks simple. I really want to love the Dashboards and Storybook functions, but the overall functionality of their graphing does need some improvement. Their dashboard have a really amazing variance analysis tool, but it needs updating and resources to be fully fleshed out and used as intended.

New FP&A user at a public company

Kommentare: I really like it, I would recommend it to a friend in and instance if they work in FP&A.

Vorteile:

The ability to immediately see real time KPis update automatically from integrations from CRM and Sage Intacct is incredibly valuable and saves a lot of time.

Nachteile:

The set up and learning process is lengthy and quite complicated. I don't know how to solve it but just know it takes time.

Datarails Review

Vorteile:

I like the ability to create and store multiple different reports in one platform that is easily accessible. With the number of reports our team produces it is beneficial to report out of one place.

Nachteile:

There are limitations to the types of dashboards we need to create in the system. Some files we are unable to aggregate because of the data type which is crucial to a number of our reports. The file mapping can sometimes get confusing when there are additional columns that have been added and we need to reconfigure the mapping, but our historical data does not have the exact same data, it has caused issues in the past.

Growing Together

Vorteile:

DataRails is amazing at increasing the speed of analysis. It has helped us gain a very quick overview of our business and all the branches.

Nachteile:

As someone who needs to teach this to others, it is hard to teach to someone who does not have some background with technology. Even people with some background in excel have a tough time with all of the functionality offered.

DR Review

Vorteile:

Being able to pull disaggregated data together has been a big plus. But what I am really finding value in is the dashboarding and storyboard capabilities.

Nachteile:

There are a few hiccups w/ the capabilities of the charts within the dashboards but we are working w/ the product team to fix those.

Fantastic and Flexible Supporting Software

Kommentare: Datarails has been great in getting us the help we need to get not only our financials more easily displayed, but get employees up to date with processes as well.

Vorteile:

Datarails makes financial analytics much smoother than before. You are able to knock out the data collection portion of financial tasks in nearly an instant, and if you are capable with the system even get it to the point it does a majority for you.

Nachteile:

The user interface can be rough to pick up on when using the mapper and other tools. The help course videos are great and will get you up to speed but it can be a bear without them.

Excellent Software

Kommentare: So far it has been overwhelmingly positive.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of use. The report builder functionality makes it easy to build reports.

Nachteile:

The layout of the menu could improve a little bit.

Head of FP&A

Kommentare: Excellent - all the people I have dealt with are not only knowledgeable of the product but knowledgeable of their customer's use cases.

Vorteile:

Ease of use - not months of set up. Product feels like you have looked into the minds of your customers and delivered what we need.

Nachteile:

No cons so far. We have had the product for around 6 months.

Datarails is certainly on "track" to becoming something huge

Kommentare: Overall positive for sure, I think its simple enough to learn and use. Very powerful for reporting.

Vorteile:

The visuals are very impressive. Its simple enough to use if you map correctly from the initial data source.

Nachteile:

There were a few options on the dashboarding side that did not allow me to do specifically what I wanted in terms of data comparisons and splitting the data on the same chart in the way I wanted.

Holding Company in the Real Estate Industry

Kommentare: Overall, DataRails has been great for our business. We are moving from using manual spreadsheets for financial reporting into automating this process in order to save time and look forward for trends, instead of always looking back in time at our data. It has been smooth and will be an easy transition for us. Above all else, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been super helpful. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is simply the best. In addition, the Dashboard views are something that will be a great value add as we continue to introduce our portfolio companies to this software, as we are trying to sophisticate some of these businesses and force our business leaders to be continually on top of their financials, business, operations, and more.

Vorteile:

My favorite part about this software is how easy it is to understand the logic that is going on behind the scenes. We are a holding company of 18 different operating companies using DataRails to automate our financial reporting process, as well as house all of our financial data in one system. Knowing how it works behind the scenes in critical and using the backend mapping is easy in order to make changes, fix errors, etc.... It makes it pretty easy to understand for the average user.

Nachteile:

There is always room for improvement, like with anything. I think the biggest challenge for our company is not having all our accounting systems integrated into the system due to some industry specific accounting softwares not being able to integrate into DR. I think one thing that would be great would be more training videos or education in order to not rely on the customer success manager as much, just to improve efficiency and time.

Amazing system with amazing support

Kommentare: DataRails has allowed us to monitor the performance of our business in ways we simply could not before. We have also been able to simplify a number of our reporting processes. These two things have allowed us to share information with a wider pool of stakeholders within our company and monitor the performance of our business much more closely.

Vorteile:

DataRails provides us with version control, data transformation, and visualization tools that we did not have before. We have streamlined many of our reporting processes, and we also use DataRails to feed a number of Excel and PowerPoint-based reports. DataRails support is very responsive.

Nachteile:

Some features don't work as expected, and it can be hard to tell if it because of a bug or user error.

CPM tool of choice, excellent value

Kommentare: In my organization we use DataRails’ cloud financial and analysis platform for budgeting and forecasting all of our financial metrics. Each department continues to rely on Excel as usual for budgets, and then using DataRails Finance sees real-time updates and compares budgets with actuals. Useful for a variety of processes including workforce management, income statement analysis, forecasting, reporting, etc.

Vorteile:

Seamless integration with Excel User friendly interface Has streamlined our budgeting process

Nachteile:

Occasionally there are glitches in our templates

Solves problems for us!

Kommentare: We use it a lot for data verification using the compare feature, do monitor data changes when we are changing our financial models. We use it to compare versions of our financial reporting decks and spreadsheets, and we use it for collaboration in collecting and prepareing (ETL) with data files for exporting from one system and into another.

Vorteile:

The way the features are now integrated with Excel, the more "active" way it organizes files tags and compares versions.

Nachteile:

I originally had a little trouble with the interface from excel (widget popups) but they replaced this with simple right-clicks and tighter integration with Excel and windows explorer that has not only eliminated the problems, but made it easier to use.

Vorteile:

Great customer support and on-boarding. Easy to refresh integrations. Easy to use, excel-based formulas.

Nachteile:

Unable to manage extremely large amounts of data and perform complex calculations.

Great product, highly recommend!

Kommentare: Overall it's been a really good experience for me and I find the product really beneficial to the work that I do.

Vorteile:

What I like most about Datarails is the ease of creating daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Nachteile:

The implementation and learning curve was difficult having never seen a system like this before.

Helps track changes in Excel files

Kommentare: The software is still in the process of implementation and improvements

Vorteile:

The software is very good. Changes between versions can be easily identified. Displays the activity in the software. Customer Support is excellent.

Nachteile:

The tree view and viewchanges in conected files.

Awesome tool for a great price

Kommentare: We've integrated DataRails within our finance department and it's just been great. For departments that rely heavily on Excel, this product is a must. All our information is in one place, it's accurate and reliable, and it boosts our confidence in the conclusions we draw from them. Really great, dependable tool.

Vorteile:

DataRails improves the accuracy and accountability of so many processes such as reporting and budgeting. It saves my department hundreds of hours of previously unnecessarily wasted time. Amazing tool!

Nachteile:

The platform doesn't integrate with Excel 2007 which is a bummer.

Love this useful, insightful product

Kommentare: DataRails is really great for automating unnecessary work. Using the system has improved my work significantly since now I don't have to waste time on copying and pasting info in order to make sense of it. This used to take up so much time, and now it takes up no time at all.

Vorteile:

-Insights feature is really useful -No more wasting time on something that can be automated -work better

Nachteile:

-Can't think of anything atm it's a platform I love using and it does that job well

A great product for FP&A

Kommentare: Tool was great, easy to use and setup. Only real issue was with the data import however that stemmed from our source data and was one of the reasons we used the product in the first place.

Vorteile:

Product is comprehensive and responsive. Support provided by our implementation partner was fantastic

Nachteile:

Just the small quirks and inconsistencies with some of the UI, additionally the inability to manually edit it.

DataRails is friendly and very easy to use

Kommentare: I have had good experiences with DataRails.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of budgeting and maintaining my departments spending- I like the dig down functions

Nachteile:

I haven't found anything yet. I find the system user friendly and easy to use.

FPA tool to beat them all

Kommentare: Before DataRails, it would take too much time to get final numbers. Excels pass through so many hands that you never really know how you ended up getting the figures you wind up with. DataRails ensures this no longer applies, without requiring my team to change how we work or requiring lengthy or complicated implementation. I'm very happy with what it has added to my team

Vorteile:

Cloud focused, connects all data,allows for easy planning across different teams. Insights feature is fantastic for customized slicing of data. Information and changes are available instantly.

Nachteile:

I have nothing but good things to say about this platform

Great reporting tool

Vorteile:

Enjoy the Excel integration functionality. Formulas are easy to use once you get the hang of them. The online platform is clear and easy to navigate.

Nachteile:

It is not an all-in-one tool; it requires upgrades to get additional functionality.

Kommentare: Excellent. The product is a time saver.

Vorteile:

The ease of mapping data for analysis and the ability to quickly and simply write reports in Excel to slice and dice data and drill into reports to transaction level.

Nachteile:

Formatting of dashboard reports could be improved; especially tables. The ability to expand and contract data ranges in Excel by clicking on dimensions would be a huge bonus.
