Power of Lumion

Kommentare: I am using Lumion for over 6 years now, mostly in my landscape designs. Lumion has great plant library, and i am very happy with an outcome it provides.

Vorteile:

Lumion is very easy to use, with capability to create super fast lot of different scenes in up to 8k resolution.

Nachteile:

It does not achieve the great quality with lighting as other softwares on the market.

Most common and easy 3D rendering and visualization software

Kommentare: If you are expecting a high-quality, fast rendering for the designs, Lumion is the option you should choose. It’s faster and has many preloaded elements which will aid in designing a perfect simulation. But you got to have a device with high performance to use Lumion and Lumion works only on Windows operating system.

Vorteile:

Lumion has the best output quality of renderings considering all the software out there. And from my personal experience, most professional designers use Lumion due to easiness and effectiveness. And with preloaded elements, the rendering and creating final output becomes quite professional and attractive. Also, it is equipped with many user-friendly features such as drag and drop, compatibility with many other application outputs. Usually, I create the model in SketchUp and use Lumion for rendering. The elite effects in Lumion such as 360 view, virtual reality function, make the rendering life-like and quite helpful when presenting the final design to clients. Most importantly out of all the rendering software, Lumion had the fastest rendering speed and enhanced output options to users which is vital in rendering software.

Nachteile:

Although Lumion is a good application for rendering, it takes quite a heavy processing power in doing the rendering. You got to have a device with higher performance to use Lumion effectively. And this is only available for Windows users. That’s quite a disadvantage for Mac and other operating system users.

Decent experience overall.

Kommentare: Overall experience has been decent. Although I like the quality of rendering in Lumion, it takes a good amount of time to coordinate between multiple applications.

Vorteile:

- Hyper realistic renderings - Multiple customization options for materials, effects and library.

Nachteile:

- Additional software open, needs constant linking back and forth.

Lumion for Fast Rendering

Kommentare: For fast renderings, especially early on, Lumion is great. Additionally, the plants and trees render fantastically. The only downside is the potentially cartoonish nature of the final product. We have found that some materials do this more than others, but it’s hard to know which will work without a lot of wasted time doing test renders.

Vorteile:

For architectural rendering, the program is really good about allowing you to set up scenes and get lots of renderings out fast. We used it a lot to do multiple renderings of different design options early on in SD.

Nachteile:

The other program we use in our office is Vray. The materials in Vray are much easier to get right. Whenever we did Lumion renderings, there was always a slight cartoonish-ness to the actual buildings.

Best ever architectural rendering software in the world

Vorteile:

For realistic renderings, this is the best tool. As a civil engineer I am using the application to make realistic 3d renderings of the structures. It provides nice illusions and effects to make your renderings more realistic. It allows 3d image rendering, sceneries and also the animations.

Nachteile:

Since this is a high power rendering engine, this software needs higher processing power. Therefore, you have to use more powerful pc to get your work done.

Lumion the best real time render software out there?

Kommentare: Overall I was very pleased to use Lumion as its intuitive and fun to use.

Vorteile:

The best thing about Lumion is that it is very easy to use in the beginning, anyone can start to render simple scenes without much effort. The component library is very huge, one of the biggest you can get in a software like this.

Nachteile:

It is very expensive while we compare it to similar software. For professional grade quality you will have to invest more time and the system requirement to run Lumion is also high.

Rating Lumion from employee eye

Vorteile:

Beautiful lanscapes and all flora assets. Of course tempo of rendering high quality views is irreplaceable

Nachteile:

I don't have any issues with Lumion. Maybe selection of imported models could be easier eventually.

Lumion VS. others

Kommentare: I think i will always use lumion in any project as it's by far the best.

Vorteile:

I believe that the best feature is that it's very easy to use unlike the other 3D programs much as 3D max. in Lumion you don't need an actual course to learn it as you can work on it by practice time after time. It gives you a very realistic view of how the vibe or the design would be in real life

Nachteile:

I think that more textures should be added and more background and city views should be found there rather than just a typical US city. They can for instance take a shot from cities for the middle east as we are working on it constantly in our projects here.

An honest review from an architect

Vorteile:

The livesync plugin for archicad is working smoothly. It is very easy to use and it has nice texture library and a wide object library.

Nachteile:

It consumes lots of memory. Can’t do separate settings for different scenes.

Best quality renders

Vorteile:

The most thing i like about lumion is the rendering quality, both in images and videos. It is by far the easier to use and highest quality i have used for video rendering of the projects

Nachteile:

its large size, it takes up so much space when installed

Vorteile:

The 3D rendering software helps in bringing projects to life, 360 degree panoramas, and visualization in general. Exterior renders work better on Lumion.

Nachteile:

Complex projects take too long to process and make the softwares lag. Higher RAMs are required. Interior renders are better on V Ray.

Kommentare: My overall experience in Lumion is extraordinary. It gave me a lot of good reviews and feedbacks for my designs from my clients. They were able to see a nice visualization and presentation of my designs. Not to mention you can create them within 10 to 15 minutes. Thanks to Lumion! Amazing product!

Vorteile:

I enjoy Lumion because it is a very user friendly 3D rendering software, you can create a masterpiece in just minutes. It has all you need to be able to create a stunning 3D visualization of your project. I love every feature of it from importing to exporting your project.

Nachteile:

There is no bad thing about this software, everything is amazing!

One of The Best Rendering Engines For Architects

Kommentare: Lumion make it easy to present to clients and discuss project with the team due to it's close to realistic walk-through.

Vorteile:

Lumion is easy to start making 3d, axonometries, and plan view renderings. It has a huge vegetation library and especially the realistic vegetation that stepped up the rendering results. The live sync is the best feature for all architects and designers, even though it doesn't work on all popular 3d software such as 3ds max, Lumion still easy to use and very friendly to start rendering.

Nachteile:

Lumion needs a lot of computing power, even my RTX gpu struggles a bit in fairly medium to large projects. Lumion is very expensive and the update fees are expensive.

If you think rendering is a chore, Try Lumion, as easy as it comes!

Vorteile:

As long as your device meets the requirements of the application, the rendering time is almost as fast as you can imagine.

Nachteile:

It comes at a price, not a lot of mid range devices can run it. It is definitely an elite software.

Realistic Rendering Software

Kommentare: My experience with lumion has been an era of realistic 3d rendering production , fast, with good quality and easy to learn

Vorteile:

I do my modeling on Revit and use revit to also render until I learnt about Lumion, from a friend, lumion is easy to learn through it friendly user-interface,I have had a more quality, realistic rendering outputs, the materials in lumion library are numerous with great 3d environment picture output , I now prefer lumion for my animations, walkthrough videos, it really presentable, my clients loves my pictures, thanks to lumion.

Nachteile:

I would have love to do all my drawings from 2d to 3d modelling then render on lumion but lumion can only be used to render so I still use my revit and import my models to lumion to render to have my job done, i think the software would be smarter if we can do all the modelling works including render, but nevertheless lumion is the best for my realistic render and it's very fast

Super fast renderings

Kommentare: Super fast rendering, you do not loose alot of time.

Vorteile:

Fast rendering, very nice interface, it is fun, and feels bit like some kind of an upgraded gaming engine for architectural visualisation.

Nachteile:

The rendering feel bit like a videogame, 3D connexion mouse does not work properly and let the program crash in a strange way (just automaticaly let the camera spin and you can not stop it unless you restart the program)

Lumion

Kommentare: It is best software for rendering I have ever seen before. What ever the landscape, finishing we can made .

Vorteile:

Lumion is used for rendering works which mostly architecture and civil engineers use this products. We can import completed sketchup files and Ravit files. Lot of tools are available which makes easy and understand. we can render with high quality materials and very acttrative. Water effects , lightning, night mode, sun rise and sun set are also available. Vehicles and peoples movement can be done.

Nachteile:

When we rendering machine gets strucks and go slowy , It is needed high performance lap top. We have to learn properly to use all facilities. It is not freely available , should be paid.

Great software with lots of potential, hindered by repeated releases with little to no improvement.

Kommentare: I used to use Lumion a couple years back because it let you create stunning images on low end hardware, with an awesome speed. Now that I have access to multi-GPU machines, I find myself needing it less and less. Unless they improve it a lot of key areas like the ones I mentioned before. Specially Ray Tracing Support. Which is where the Archviz Industry is headed.

Vorteile:

It is fast to deliver a good looking image, the material Library is great and a lot of the 3D assets are good quality. It is intuitive to use without need of tutorials or training.

Nachteile:

It needs improvement in a lot of Areas: -the UI looks and works dated. There have been almost no improvements to it. -The majority of the 3D Assets look dated. -There are artifacts and flickering 90% of the time when exporting animations. -There is no Ray Tracing, for this price of software that is unacceptable. -No Ctrl-Z function. -No Multi-GPU Support. -No realtime VR Support. -Very expensive.

Lumion - Rendering Ease

Kommentare: Lumion is an incredibly fast and easy in-house architectural rendering program that has enormous potential. If looking for professional quality renderer, Lumion might not be the right fit, but it will certainly take less time than whatever else is being used and still produce great looking images. It fits it well in today's fast paced design process to turn around iterations of renderings very quickly.

Vorteile:

Lumion is a tremendous tool for creating high quality images. Importing models from different programs into Lumion is quick and simple. The library of entourage is full of all the general things one could think of. The rendered images have a very simple workflow as well as high quality editable settings for lighting and reflections. Now, the Livesync feature is also a great real-time renderer to help the design process all the way through.

Nachteile:

As Lumion runs a video game renderer the interface might be different than what most architectural users are familiar with and might come with a learning curve. Controlling the majority of tools with sliders can be less precise than desired.

Same day renders!

Kommentare: Fast results!

Vorteile:

Lumion let's me make edits to projects and visualize them instantly. I can rework a project and then have presentation ready renders in the same day. This is great for saving time and communicating ideas with clients.

Nachteile:

Lumion works as a standalone program that once you import your 3d model into it, you cannot edit the 3d model. If there was a way of linking in realtime the edits from Rhino to Lumion that would be great! However, they do have this feature, "LiveLink" for Sketchup and Revit.

The best rendering software

Kommentare: I love Lumion. I do rapid 3D modelling on trimble sketchup then import the model on Lumion. I was blown away by how easily you can achieve realistic views in Lumion

Vorteile:

Its ease of use and prebuilt libraries are amazing!

Nachteile:

It is centered around architecture industry. As I am an industrial engineer who has worked on software involving 3D factory, I wish it has those features too!

The real deal in 3D rendering!

Kommentare: All in all. Lumion is the rendering software at hand for any firm or practicing freelancer architect. This will transform your plain 3D presentations to something the is eye catching and appealing.
A highly recomendable software with just very few and bearable cons and problems.

Vorteile:

The best part of the software is the 3D additions and allowance to use real skies. The software will allow you to add 3D grass without bogging up or slowing down your machine and make it appear as if it was a captured image rather than processed. The HDR skyboxes in lumion 7,8,9 improve the overall lighting of the image and gives it a realistic look.

Nachteile:

The new addition of the lean UI in the lumion 9 is a standard con. This has disabled many features which include the ability to select and filter multiple categories. Another con is the video playback which is quite slow and time consuming.

A quality program to create realistic renders

Kommentare: When you open this program, the minimal layout makes it very easier to use and once you get the gist of it, you can explore the multitude of options you can use to create your render.

Vorteile:

An impressive and up-to-date software for both designers and architects, it renders very quickly so you can save a lot of time while it quietly renders in the background. The details of the renders such as animals are also very much appreciable and add a natural touch to the renders created by this software.

Nachteile:

The animations could be much smoother and the controls for the animations could be more intuitive to use.
