Great benefit and easy to use platform with lots of room to grow

Kommentare: We have been greatly satisfied with Givebutter. The zero fees and complete data transparency have put us in the drivers seat with our online fundraising initiatives. Using Givebutter has dramatically increased our online fundraising potential. We are eager to keep this product in our arsenal of tools in the work ahead of us.

Vorteile:

Givebutter is easy to use, has lots of great features, and gives you control over your data. It also doesn't require a barge or boatload of cash to get started. Givebutter has a great team of specialists ready and willing to help you through your initial configuration as well as your ongoing work with the platform.

Nachteile:

There are no drawbacks. We are eager to see what new features Givebutter continues to implement to make its communication with other platforms common in the space as seamless and easy as its current complement of offerings. We are also eager to see FORM applications grow so we can retired other solutions we have entirely. We are working hard to earn enough annual dollars to afford custom URLS and the giving hub. Two great features we are eager to implement as WE grow.

We have tried everything and Givebutter is just what we need!

Kommentare: I highly recommend working with them. We had initially used etapestry for the first few years, it was clunky and expensive. We moved to Aplos and enjoyed our time, but they introduced many features, many of which didn't work well. The accounting feature didn't synch with the donor management side and it was also clunky. We began to look elsewhere. At the direction of our bookkeeper, we sampled Planning Center (users literally hated it) and Subsplash, and neither were good for non-profits (both wanted $ and for users to use an app/login to give). Finally, we looked into Pushpay - which is super user friendly, but expensive. We are thrilled with Givebutter, it suits our non-profit needs perfectly and our donors LOVE it.

Vorteile:

At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks, for us Givebutter is 'just right'. It is free and easy to use. Givebutter is constantly updating and adding new features.

Nachteile:

The event and sign-up modules could be more robust. That said, they're actively working on this.

The program let us down in the middle of our event!

Kommentare: I do not believe that we will continue services for our event next year however, we'd like to talk about what went wrong to help it from happening to others.

It was so easy to set up auction items.

Nachteile:

it stopped reacting when everyone was checking out! It also wouldn't let us assign live auction items to the winners nor would it let us add raise the paddle donors to the program to be charged!

The future of fundraising platforms

Kommentare: I have been so happy using Givebutter. Everyone I worked with has been on top of it, answering all of my questions. It has been a wonderful experience so far.

Vorteile:

I searched many different platforms and was disappointed in what I was finding as it looked outdated, was not user friendly and had a high price tag. When I found Givebutter, everything changed. It was updated to tech standards of 2024 and had a visually pleasing interface. I was so happy with the customer service, maneuverability of the site and the endless integrations and options.

Nachteile:

As a new site, there are still a few items within the auction platform that need updating. We have a paddle raise and are looking for an easier way to charge guests after the auction.

We love the affordability and user-friendly features that Givebutter provides! Not knowing much about website code, it was incredibly easy to embed all of the feathers into our website using Givebutters' direction!

Nothing, everything we haven't liked has been updated or changed to be a new feature over the last year!

Improving The Ease of Donations

Vorteile:

We love how easy Givebutter is to setup multiple campaigns, track those campaigns, and then share those campaigns with our donors & prospective donors. Givebutter was also able to seamlessly integrate into our website (Wix Platform) which further improved our ease to donate for donors & sponsors.

Nachteile:

I'd love to see Givebutter reach out and setup a call with us to check in, give us a more in depth tutorial, and confirm we are setting everything up properly.

Wonderful tool for nonprofits

Vorteile:

Givebutter's features and online auction was crucial to the success of our annual fundraising auction. As a non-profit we rely heavily on the success of this auction to continue operations and it was so easy with Givebutter and allowed more members to participate even if they couldn't attend in person.

Nachteile:

I think it was a setting we missed somehow but we would have like for auction winners to automatically be charged for the bids they won. It was a little chaotic trying to verify everyone had paid at the end of the night. It would also be a nice option to be able to indicate with a toggle if an item is only available for in-person pickup at the event.

Excellent for non-profits of all tech-skill levels to offer modern virtual fundraising events

Kommentare: We created our account in 2020 and it solved the immediate critical need of reaching supporters for our fundraising events amidst a pandemic. Because of Givebutter, we had an immediate and headache-free solution that allowed us to raise almost $40K so far. Also, we are an agency with many different programs, each of which manage their own unique fundraising campaigns and have their own unique needs. Givebutter offers three different types of fundraising campaigns, which allowed each of our Programs to run the type of campaign they needed.

Vorteile:

It has a clean and simple user interface, which required very little training time as I onboarded new Users from our staff. Their support team is very responsive and knowledgeable, and help to guide us through all of our questions. Their organization has a customer-centric focus, and is designed to receive and adapt based of their user feedback. We also really liked its ability to integrate with our CRM.

Nachteile:

Currently they do not offer an online auction function (silent or live), but this feature is in development and anticipated this year. We also did not like the Tips feature, which if activated removed their platform fees. Essentially, if you leave the Tip feature on then at checkout it provides the donor with the option to also tip Givebutter. We felt that this was confusing to our donors, who may not understand what Givebutter is, and that those funds would not be included as part of their gift to our organization. We would instead prefer to have a flat platform fee, but realize this probably means they would make less money. Also, the integration with our CRM was limited in terms of what data migrated where. We hope to see that change, so more information can be captured via Givebutter and automatically synced into our CRM.

Vorteile:

Having no up-front cost removed the fear of using this product. We searched countless donation processors and CRMs and it was very difficult for me to get our team to commit to any of them that came with an up-front cost. This removed those barriers and gave us a good level of customization for a system that we never had to put a dime into (either donors covered the fee or the incredibly minimal fee was taken out before it came to us)

Nachteile:

I wish there was a volunteer event style function built in.

Free Platform not so Free, but enables us to do many things we couldn't before

Kommentare: Customer service is excellent! Whenever we have questions, they are answered in a very responsive way.

Vorteile:

We have used Givebutter less than 6 months. The best thing we use so far is the ability to email tickets to event purchasers with a QR code to scan and admit them to a concert. We used to print out list of ticket purchasers and check them off a list when they arrived.

Nachteile:

What I discovered is that for events, although we sign no contracts and paid no money to use the platform, Givebutter charges a fee of from 1%-5%. We also chose this platform because it does enable users to have an on-line auction. Gala tickets and auction fees are going to make this a very expensive platoform, but hopefully, after our event is over (March 2024), we will see how much of these fees donors pay and how much the platform actually costs.

GiveButter makes fundraising for non-profits easy and user-friendly

Kommentare: The group I am a part of doesn't have a lot of tech-savvy members. being able to use an intuitive platform like GiveButter makes it feasible and easy for us to fundraise at all types of events. QR codes, campaign URLs, and text-do-donate have all changed who we can reach and how.

Vorteile:

GiveButter campaigns are so easy to set up; they let you duplicate a previous campaign and amend as necessary. It's intuitive and you can always view what your campaign looks like at any step of the way.

Nachteile:

Some of the user interface seems busy and it's not always clear which areas of the page I should be giving attention to. But I do always figure it out in the end, and by looking at everything I find out more about GiveButter's functionality.

It seems you are running into an issue due to missing donor addresses (required by Stripe) – unfortunately, we aren't able to complete migrations for donors with incomplete required data. Vorteile:

Give Butter is an incredible tool for donor management and online fundraising. It’s user friendly, intuitive and the back end is incredibly beneficial for managing donors.

Nachteile:

The set up process for a variety of tools (email, SMS, filters) can be cumbersome and time consuming. I also wish the feature to “reply” after a donation to send a thank you would have a templates thank you note

Vorteile:

Givebutter makes the donation experience for both the donor and our development team super streamlined, and the "Engage" tools (emailing and texting donors and audiences) are very easy to use and learn. The customer service is also spectacular!!! [sensitive content hidden] has been so wonderful, supportive, and personal.

Nachteile:

I wish the communication with donors was a little more robust and could integrate more seamlessly with Canva. I wish I could customize some of the website integrations a little more, like have more options about where I can put the buttons and pop-up windows on the page.

Givebutter is incredibly user friendly for our staff and our donors! Their customer service is unmatched, and we always receive a quick turnaround time on any questions we have. From conversations with the givebutter team, they are continuous working to add and revamp features. We are excited to dive further into the platform and maximize all of its features to help further our fundraising strategies!

Nachteile:

At this point, I don't have many complaints about give butter. My only hang up so far is improving some of their options for donor tracking. For example, right now you can only add in individual donors...there doesn't seem to be a great way to track business or corporate donations.

Givebutter is a low-cost, easy to use platform for handling online fundraising

Kommentare: Great, it's flexible and we've been able to re-use past pages or forms as the basis for new fundraisers and just update them to reflect what we're doing, which saves time. It also is a great tool in terms of collecting donor info for CRM.

Vorteile:

Low-cost and low platform fees, accessible and easy to set up brand new fundraising pages and forms. Good integration access with CRMs and customizable reporting for reconciliation. Support is responsive and helpful, and new features are continually rolled out.

Nachteile:

It would be nice to be able to set up a single page with multiple sub-fundraising forms with in it for different revenue streams, especially when it comes to a single event with different fundraising options or a series of related events that it would be best for donors to navigate from one central page where they could see all of the different options available, and donations/purchases would be able to go to different accounts to make reconciliation much easier.

A newbie but learning more every day!

Kommentare: Overall, I would recommend Givebutter to other nonprofits. I can see the possibilities of all features available, and since we're quite new to the online CRM world, we are able to slowly do this without the expense of paying fees while we get our feet wet. Looking forward to all that is to come!

Vorteile:

You cannot beat free! For the level of service, constant improvements, support staff that is responsive and collaborative, we have been very pleased. Is it perfect? No - but again, their responsiveness makes it so you can tailor things to your needs. If they don't have a feature you need, they do consider it and crowdsource how other users feel about it, and it often is the case that others need it too. We aren't used to such behavior in nonprofit world - we are often told to deal with it and still pay up!

Nachteile:

We have used it most for our Auction gala this year. It was our first time doing such work completely online, and it went so well! There were some hiccups - some of that on our end as we had a learning curve as well. For the attendees - who ranged in age from 20s-80s, there was a struggle for the older crowd, but I hear this is the case for many who utilize any online platform. They felt the registration process and sustained connectivity were an issue. There were also some things we would have liked to control more around timing/closing of auction items and end reporting, but overall it was very usable.

Painless Processing

Vorteile:

I love the fact that all of the processing happens off site and I don't have to maintain a code base associated with cc processing. This helps us as a nonprofit use our time and energy on other more critical needs.

Nachteile:

My only complaint has to do with upgrades on the system. I had everything on my site configured and set up fully, then GB made changes to how widgets were embedded and my site had all sorts of conflicts and css issues. I would love to have more notices about upcoming changes and increased confidence that the new deployments do not impact existing deployments.

Yay Givebutter from CASM

So easy to set up and pull reports for me and easy for our customers to buy tickets and or donate.

Nachteile:

The Raffle and Auction was difficult to manage:1. Auction: The Max Bid was invisible and made it impossible to know the winner if you had bids online as well as in person during the event. Once we learned this, I had to cancel our online auction.2. The Raffle required me to print out every ticket number and name so we could pull the winner from a hat. My family had to cut strips of paper with the name and ticket number of each person who bought a ticket and it was laborious. Would love to have an auto generator that picked the winning ticket!!

As for the raffle tickets, we recommend using a random number generator such as https://www.calculator.net/random-number-generator.html Your tickets are all individually numbered, so you'd just need to set the lower limit to 1 and the upper limit to the number of the last raffle ticket sold. Not as showy as a hat or fishbowl, but definitely faster!

Kommentare: Overall our experience with Givebutter has been positive. While there are some challenges that we have faced Givebutter has been great at helping us to adapt to these challenges.

Vorteile:

Givebutter not only provides a platform with an impressive amount of features but their staff clearly cares about the success of their users. They check in, are constantly improving features and even offer some trainings. It enables us to have one location for all fundraising needs that we are able to customize and make work for us.

Nachteile:

Givebutter does have some features that are not quite as robust as needed. For example while they do have CRM features they are limited. We often find ourselves having to come up with work arounds to these features. However Givebutter staff is always willing to help develop these workarounds and are constantly improving their features.
