User Friendly and Helpful

I like that everything saves automatically and is easily accessible. It all feels very intuitive and easy to use.

Nachteile:

I don't think I've noticed anything that was missing or that I thought specifically needed to be improved.

Fed up of multiple docs? This is a great choice

As a freelancer I work with lots of clients, and the time I have saved by not opening up a 'version' of an excel doc has been incredible. I can see who is watching, share edits, allow controls over who can view or edit, and I'm able to track changes with ease. The collaborative power of Google Sheets has truly revolutionized the way I manage my freelance projects. One of the standout features for me is the real-time collaboration. Being able to work on a project simultaneously with a client or colleague, without the hassle of sending files back and forth, is a game-changer. The ability to see who's viewing the sheet and share edits makes for a seamless and transparent workflow. No more sifting through endless email attachments or dealing with outdated versions of files - everything is right there in one place. I liked that I can give read-only access to a client, collaborate with a teammate to make a document right, or keep a document private ust for me. I do hope my data isn't being consumed for AI!! Also worth mentioning the revision history is good as well.

Nachteile:

While the cloud based nature is great for remote work, it can suffer from going offline. I've also struggled to autosum on some files whereas with Excel that was really easy.

Pay for Excel

Great alternative to Excel for spreadsheet collaboration

Kommentare: Love this tool - use it daily for a range of applications. Really couldn't think of life without Google Sheets!

Vorteile:

The ability to share it with other team members is excellent. I love the way it can be styled, and the ability to add Google's "chips" to it for extra context is nice too. Being Cloud first means it's easy to access from anywhere, and the mobile interface is usable too.

Nachteile:

Working with functions and conditional formatting can be a little cumbersome - they do the job just fine but the UI is not as intuitive as it could be

Better than Excel

Kommentare: I love Google Sheets. I've had an incredible experience with Google Sheets. It's super convenient and user-friendly.

Vorteile:

I absolutey love Google Sheets. I'm a very experienced and long-time user of Excel and have always loved it. However, after using Google Sheets - I'm a big fan. I was surprised - I figured it would be more limited than Excel, but it has all the functionality of Excel. Imports/exports into or from Excel are easy and convert easily with little to no complications. My favorite thing about Google Sheets is that it has AI integrated and can recommend formulas based on your activity. That function alone has saved me hours of work. It's very easy and user-friendly. It has a modern look and feel. I prefer the Google Sheets interface to Excel. Functions and formulas operate the same. I also love that multiple users can utilize the sheet in real-time. It also has an edit/version history of who did what and when, which is very convenient. You can also control permissions and restrict access. You can also have Google Sheets integrated into your apps and software. Honestly, I only use Google Sheets now.

Nachteile:

I don't have any cons for Google Sheets. The only annoying thing is it can have network issues but it's very rare and you can download the sheet and work offline.

Google Sheets - great to use

Kommentare: Overall - Google Sheets is super easy to use and share with coworkers. Easy to search inside the "Google Drive" as well.

Vorteile:

What I like most about Google Sheets is its ability to share amongst coworkers and collaborate on a document. Then - I can share it (View Only) with sales reps.

Nachteile:

I wish some of the formatting features were a little easier to use (or "sticky") - if I have used them a few times (ie: Highlighter color for example)

Team work

Kommentare: Google sheets gives me the overall functionality that I need for my business. It’s pretty simple to use and easy to share and use for exporting data to use in our programs.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of use for most of my employees or teammates. I love being able to control the access of data with in the folder that the sheet is filed in. The data import functions and rules of the cells for importing of the google forms answers we collect.

Nachteile:

Sometimes there are functions I wish would be easier like the copying of cells or dragging of cell formats.

This is way more beyond than an excel sheet, Google has improved it day by day and it is getting better and better. Google sheets is full of features and each feature is really useful, all shortcuts, import-export everything is a day to day thing

The tab command does not work as intended sometimes on Mac

Reliable & Time Saving Organization Tool

Kommentare: Google sheets has saved me a lot of time and encouraged me to organize data and lists in table formats, which is a more accessible and attractive format. The many templates google sheets offers also saves me time so I don’t need to build everything from scratch. The fact that google sheets is free is amazing.

Vorteile:

I use google sheets to keep track of email lists, budgets, and to list professional opportunities. I’m a PhD student and college instructor. Google sheets is great for making quick tables of info that I can share and allow people to add their info. So, instead of having to input everything myself, google sheets allows for more crowdsourcing and collaboration. It’s also a simple looking design that’s attractive and easy to read for a wide audience.

Nachteile:

Google sheets has many buttons and drop down menu options. Despite this, I always have to search for how to perform certain functions beyond the basics. The buttons and menu options are not very clear or helpful. It’s very confusing and takes me awhile to learn how to perform basic functions. It’s sometimes a hassle to use google sheets for this reason.

A lot of features, ease of use and a great support community

Kommentare: Google Sheets is definitely the best solution I've met so far for managing a large number of spreadsheets. Based on the cloud, sharing the files is as simple as clicking a button. All necessary features are present and perfectly working. Documents are organized in your Google Drive, so they can be arranged in folders and can be browsed or searched very easily.

Vorteile:

The software has all the features you could think of, it's fully compatible with Microsoft Excel and documents can be shared very easily with different access policies. And if you need a template or a particular solution to a specific problem, you can count on thousands of users who post tips, templates, suggestions and the support offered by Google.

Nachteile:

Formatting cells is not always intuitive (especially for dates and times), and when you import data from other systems it may take a while to fix numbers and other fields (importing data into Excel or Apple Numbers is a little easier, with a formatting options menu presented right after the import). The user interface is not really appealing from a graphical point of view: it may be improved.

The perfect spreadsheet for 90% of everyone

Kommentare: For one, we were able to eliminate 90% of our Office licenses since Word and Excel were the two most commonly needed. I use it for everything and since i also handle IT for the office I essentially dictated that Sheets is what is what we offer outside extraordinary circumstances. Always there, always works. It has really made things such as simple pricing reports, equipment tracking very simple. I have not used Excel for years.

Vorteile:

It works great in all those usual spreadsheet ways but the sharing and collaboration is really top notch and while it's a bit standard nowadays when it launched it was really revolutionary. No more emailing files back and forth or file shares with permission issues. While many of those problems can be solved with good IT practices Sheets made it out of the box easy. It really just works and it's fast to load as well.

Nachteile:

Printing setup could be better, i know that's a compromise with the browser running the show, but it almost always takes some adjusting to get things to print out the way you want.

Work with Sheets anywhere

Kommentare: It's very useful to work with numbers and text.
I use it to make Google Ads keyword combinations and much more and upload it to Google Ads.
It's very nice to get a online xml feed and put it in a sheet in an easy way.

Vorteile:

You can work anywhere, it's fast and reliable (don't loose your work because the internet is down). You can use it with data from online sources, like xml, csv and others. Have a very good API, you can automate many process from your computer, smartphone or cloud. You can use Google Scripts to increment your formulas. It's free, with all features. You can share (and work at same time with other people) your sheets in a easy way.

Nachteile:

Could be slower in case of many data and complex formulas. Do not have a good support (I think it only have online forums).

Google Sheets does everything and then some!

Kommentare: I absolutely love using Sheets, conditional formatting and using templates is super easy and intuitive, that I find myself using Sheets more than Docs

We all know spreadsheets/workbooks are super powerful business tools. Whereas Excel makes it hard to find features and learn to use, my teammates and I were writing formulas and processing calculations in mere minutes. Sheets is way more intuitive than Excel.

Nachteile:

There's nothing that I hate about Sheets

A no-brainer for companies looking to save on Microsoft licenses

Kommentare: I started using sheets in college, I've used it continuously in a professional environment across multiple organizations over the last 6 years, for consulting on the side, and almost daily for personal use. Sheets is so easy and so accessible that I use it for personal budgeting, planning road trips, documenting progress on my project car, and even planning my garden.

Vorteile:

Sheets does about 95% of what Excel can do right out of the box. It's missing just a small handful of uncommon/advanced formula options, but that can typically be made up because you can install third-party extensions (or write your own). It's also just easier - you can access all your files from any device with an internet connection, and all of your changes are auto-saved as you work. Sheets also has the most seamless collaboration and cloud storage features of any product in this space - Microsoft doesn't even come close. My absolute favorite part is that it's free to anyone with a Google account and is included for professional use with any G-suite license. I use sheets for personal use as much as I do for professional.

Nachteile:

The only thing I wish sheets had was the ability to set it as the default way of opening spreadsheet files from my computer. To open a file that you have stored locally on your machine, you have to open chrome, navigate to sheets, then go to file>import, then go through the import process. Because sheets lives entirely within Chrome, there is (as of yet) no way of making it an absolutely seamless transition from Excel to sheets.

I will be recommending Google Sheets to everyone!

My favourite thing about Google Sheets is how similar the actions are compared to Excel, the fact that it is a free software, and that it is editable by multiple people since it is a document on the internet.

Nachteile:

What I least like about Google Sheets is that when I attempt to share something with another email, I have to give permission for them to view it after I send the document.

Always Where I Am

Kommentare: Overall, I have great experiences with using Google Sheets. The collaboration tools, formulas, charting, and flexibility in having the sheets always available regardless of my device make them a crucial part of keeping my business successful.

Vorteile:

Sheets provides me the flexibility to maintain project tasks in an easily to use format. I have built sheets to keep track of common milestones and the ability to easily duplicate sheets for new projects makes them a plus. Then, I have restricted cells for user input and allow my clients to provide feedback and details that help maintain project timelines. Being able to share the sheets easily is always an added bonus!

Nachteile:

I have not found a feature of the software that I do not particularly like. In the years of use, I've been able to accomplish everything needed. I've built complex formulas and sheet mappings that always work without a problem.

very good for being free

Kommentare: Google Sheets transformed the way I work collaboratively, moving much of my work from the classic spreadsheets to the free, collaborative online version of G-Sheets. But still, for convenience and ease of use, I have some of my spreadsheets in Excel (synchronized with Google Drive, but that functionality is for a separate review).

Vorteile:

The application has several positive aspects, but the first to highlight is that it is free! The comparison always arises between this app and Excel. Google Sheets is more limited than the latter, but it has enough functions to replace Microsoft in low-medium complexity tasks. Something that stands out with respect to the desktop versions of Excel is the possibility of sharing the document and working it between several people simultaneously remotely.

Nachteile:

It does not carry the same functionalities or they are not implemented in the same way as in Excel. And let's face it, most of the people who use this application previously used Microsoft on its desktop version. Adapting to tasks other than the simplest requires some work. It is also more limited in terms of functionalities.

A good free alternative to Excel—if you need free

Kommentare: Since I don't use super-advanced features, I would say my experience is mostly fine, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to suggest the use of Google Sheets over Excel—I would offer it as a suggestion to someone who either didn't have the money to spend on a spreadsheets software or if their intentions were limited to relatively simple or common tasks like making a monthly budget or creating a to-do list.

Vorteile:

The basic features of Google Sheets are very easy to use, especially if like me, you spent the first 30 years of your life on Microsoft products. Google didn't reinvent the wheel and most of the functions used in Google have identical syntax to Excel, so you won't spend time re-learning how to sum your rows or columns. If you don't need to do anything overly complex in a spreadsheet, Sheets is an absolutely acceptable alternative to its competitor

Nachteile:

While the basic features are simple and easier. Some of the "intermediate" features require a bit of research. For example, basic conditional formatting is fairly straight forward—however, if you want to do even a little bit beyond basic, for example, look for duplicates (which is very straightforward in Excel), you need to apply custom functions within conditional formatting rules. And if you're not relatively informed or willing to sit through a YouTube tutorial, it's not going to be super clear what the correct answer is. Also, Google's customer service doesn't usually supply any help here; I've seen numerous threads between customers and Google where customers ask how to do very common tasks or ask about common features and the reply is a resounding "We don't do that.". I'm in a privileged position because I work at a company that actually teaches people how to use Google Sheets, so I have a free resource to teach myself tricks if necessary, but despite this, the syntax for "complicated" tasks is easy to forget and I do often find myself looking up the same things over and over again.

Best product in this category

Kommentare: It haa been great. Ive completely replaced all other spreadsheets software in my company with Google Sheets.

Vorteile:

The ease of use, the fact that there is infinity undo’s, a timeline of all the changes youve made to the document, the query function as well as the importrange function make this product the most versatile program out there. In my opinion its a mix of excel, and database software wth a very nice ease of use.

Nachteile:

I wish this software would allow to lock some cells from being able to be modified by the creator of the document. I think thats just nitpicking though cause its difficult to find flaws.

The best program in the Google Office Suite-- Use often and highly recommend

Vorteile:

This software has performed the best for me of any of the softwares in the Google office suite. I can easily create spreadsheets with similar functions as Excel and the crossover was not difficult as all. I was able to quickly adapt to this platform and use it for bookkeeping and organizing my thoughts for various businesses. I love that I can easily add to it and check it from my iPhone. Some of the ways I use it on my iPhone are for inputting expenses as they happen for my business and for organizing my pantry and grocery lists. It is something I use and check everyday and I love how easy it is! Additionally, I was able to develop a fairly complex spreadsheet (with the help of techy friends) who were able to write macros into it that they would normally use with Excel. Because of the easy link sharing feature, I was able to share this with other people to assist them in the calculations I was doing.

Nachteile:

One of the biggest cons is not enabling people to share the document as a template. It would be nice to give a link and then allow people to have it as a template so they could edit it without having to go to "File" and "save a copy". This does allow me to use google sheets more than I use docs as a Microsoft replacement (see other review), but there are a few features I still find to be difficult. For basic expense and revenue tracking, I enjoy google sheets because I can access it from anywhere and update it from anywhere. But for my family budget, I still prefer Excel, especially with the ease of conditional formatting (which is possible but more complex in sheets). I also still prefer excel for turning data into graphs and charts. Overall however, Sheets is an important program that I use /daily/ and I highly recommend it!

Share the load of projects effectively

Kommentare: Positive but often abused. I find myself in constant reminder to my team to have conversations about the direction we want to take in creating a doc/sheet before embarking. Working in today's generation it is often easy to slip into majority type or text for communication and forgetting the importance of verbal conversation. Often it can take longer for both parties to brainstorm, type, review, share, read, digest, type, review, respond, and so on and so forth.

Vorteile:

I love being able to work on a project with another teammember simultaneously. This helps increase productivity and cut down on back and forth communications. Its nice to be able to discuss on a project on the phone and look through a sheet together even when video call with screen sharing is not available. I've found google sheets most helpful for tracking data on monthly events and being able to review the year on the whole. Google sheets makes working across Mac/Windows computers much easier. Its nice to not have to worry about being able to see/access a sheet due to the other party not having and updated platform for Excel.

Nachteile:

I caution working on google sheets together without having an agreed upon method for data management. Simple rules like 'only numbers OR only letters' in a single cell can be a good starting point. Frustrations can really rise if there is misunderstanding on general sheet management. You may find yourself documenting the same thing just on different sheets within the same sheet if you don't start with some basic rules. Like google docs is similar but not the same as Word, so is google sheets to Excel. There are limitations to the functions in google sheets but it is an excellent starting point. Biggest downside on the whole is being tied to an internet connection to be able to access information.

Google Sheets is the Best Collaborative Spreadsheet Tool Now a Days

We don't have to put additional efforts to get familiar with google sheets. it has all the facilities as same as MS Excel. It has a very clean and useful interface. Not only that But also Google Sheets provides lots of Integration Options with 3rd Party Software and Systems in the market. Finally i should say this is a grate choice for any type of Businesses around the world to make their tasks much easier.

Every user has a common knowledge about MS Excel since decades. The best thing that Google Sheets has is it provides all the Features and Functions that MS Excel provides. Sometimes more than that. Google sheets is a Cloud Based System. Which means anyone can access their google sheets anywhere in the world at anytime with out limitation. This should be the grate advantage of google sheets. Google sheets provides real time Editing and Sharing. That makes google sheets one of the best collaborative tools in the market today. And it is 100% Free to Use. Google sheets can be accessible via any device even your mobile phone or tablet.

Nachteile:

Sometimes we faced some formatting issues when we export our google sheets as a word document or pdf. Same thing happens when we import documents to google sheets.
