The perfect solution for our stage business

Kommentare: I could not be happier with Looker. My one hesitation in recommending it is that other tools seemed to be able to provide 80% of the value at 20% of the cost, but I've only demoed those tools and not actually used them so I'm not sure if they could actually deliver.

Vorteile:

Looker is incredibly easy to use for a casual user, which most of our users are. As soon as your email is activated, you have access to the product and new users need very little direction to start getting value out of it.

Nachteile:

Relative to other BI tools, the advanced charting functionality is somewhat limited, but frankly that's not the main reason we bought Looker. Data scientists can use another tool of their choice, we have Looker for people who aren't data scientists.

Google Looker, ideal both for experienced and new users

Kommentare: Overall, we are very happy with Looker and we will keep using it. However, improvements on speed & connectors are crucial in order to make the product even more useful.

Vorteile:

Social Media reporting is the primary reason for using Looker (ex-Data Studio). The numerous connections with the social media platforms and the ability to create reports in a fast, efficient & scalable way are the most important benefits of the platform.

Nachteile:

Although our experienced team members are able to create Looker reports from scratch, the newest members need numerous training sessions to understand how the platform works and how they can use it to create custom reports. Also, the fact that data connectors often fail, creates an additional burden for everyone involved, from team members to end clients.

Looker - data visualization

Kommentare: Looker is an impressive tool for every business, it shows a lot of important data, reports are easy to share to see live results or export as a PDF.

Vorteile:

The most I like at Looker that I can import data from multiple sources automatically. Is very that all data is up to date when needed. Creating a dashboard with essential charts and graphs is very easy with its drag and drop builder. Another helpful thing is sharing the dashboard with other so the reports are available to all who needs any info.

Nachteile:

Everything works fine, no cons worth mentioning.

Looker review

Kommentare: I kept it simple with this tool to start with, there's lots of helpful guides online to use until you get more confident setting up reports

Vorteile:

There is a lot of visualisation options and data blending can be done which is helpful too

Nachteile:

It is not self intuitive and can be quite frustrating to use until you get familiar with the tool

Best option for first/time dashboard building

Vorteile:

It’s super easy to maintain and update reports - particularly if using some of the direct integrations for Google products (eg Google ads). Also great to be able to pull in data from attribution tools like Ruler Analytics too.

Nachteile:

Not necessarily a ‘con’ as such, but your dashboards look as good as you are a designer; I’ve seen some incredible dashboards built by colleagues and peers and also seen some truly terrible ones; the flexibility of the tool means you do need to have a basic grasp of data analysis and visualisation.

Looker Review

Vorteile:

Easy to create dashboards without engineers needing to write code.

Nachteile:

Still not very good yet for a multi-tenant embedded environment. Needs a lot of work to set up and the API is slow.

Great Reporting Software That’s Hard To Use

Vorteile:

The massive amount of data, from many different platforms, can be compiled in many different ways for a great report.

Nachteile:

You almost need a PhD in computer science to program the report. Steep learning curve.

Looker - all data in one place

Kommentare: Looker is an important tool in reporting and data analysis. The report is easy to share with others and data is always updated from the sources.

Vorteile:

An important feature is that you can import data from different sources easily and automatically. I have created a dashboard with all the information I need, and with the graphs created, it is easier to analyze the evolution and what needs to be done in the future.

Nachteile:

All the options and settings can be overwhelming for the first time.

Looker - better data visualization

Kommentare: Overwall Looker is a great tool for reporting and data analysys. The reports are always up to date and this is very important because I can track whats is happening in real time.

Vorteile:

Connecting different sources or importing data is very easy and you are sure that data is always up to date. Another important feature for me is that you can share these reports with other or you can export them.

Nachteile:

Creating a dashboard with all you need can be a little complicated for the first time.

Looker - charts and graphs

Kommentare: Looker is a great tool for every business, even though it can be a little overwhelming when setting up your dashboard for the first time.

Vorteile:

The biggest feature for me is the ability to import different data from different sources. Creating a dashboard with all the data you need gives you a better picture of your activity, which is easier to analyze. It offers many types of charts and graphs where you can integrate data from different sources easily. Sharing the reports with others is eay, as you can share the live report where data is updated automatically or export as a PDF.

Nachteile:

No cons for Looker, I wish more apps would allow users to export data to Looker automatically.

Great BI Tool, easy to use, deploy and manage, both by developers and business users

Kommentare: It helping us give the business users access to our data models and get business insights.
Our R&D team is monitoring deployment of product using this data.
We are also give customer access to their data (with row level security)

Vorteile:

very quick deployment, self serve abilities for the business users are very high. Mediation layer management is very good, it is "Code" based and not setup based so it is very easy to replicate/versioning and find "Hacks" to many needs, and versioning is managed by GIT. Support is amazing, always available.

Nachteile:

Still lacking a little bit on the graphic side, Would really love to have some more buildin dynamic graphs.

Looker Studio is an absolute game-changer

Nachteile:

The flexibility and customization options in Looker Studio can be both a strength and a weakness. While it allows for tailored analytics solutions, it can also be complex to set up intricate data models and dashboards, requiring a higher level of technical expertise.

Powerful but complex

Vorteile:

It's quickly ingests the data we need to run reports and build visualizations for various teams.

Nachteile:

It doesn't follow the same data schema and handle objects from salesforce the same way so we have had to manipulate various fields to make Looker connect properly. The data quality doesn't always match salesforce.

The best tool for business intelligence

Kommentare: As a CFO, Google Looker helps me monitoring budgets and financial information about our company. It is a great tool that helps me taking financial decisions.

Vorteile:

Google Looker is one of the best business intelligence tools, it offers many features and visualizations that can help business owners to view real-time reports and dashboards. Also, Google Looker is fully customized so that you can make your own reports, graphs, and dashboards.

Nachteile:

Google Looker is complex and hard to learn especially when you are trying to make complex data collection or reports.

Provides valuable insights for all users (Technical and End Users)

Kommentare: This software has truly put our leadership team above the benchmark with data efficiencies and making informed data driven decisions.

Vorteile:

Looker is incredibly easy to use, and it easily scales with your technical abilities. As an Analyst, I can create very easy to use self serve reports for stakeholders. This saves time and effort for both parties. Looker also has a very intuitive way of organizing data and letting you quickly visualize data in your warehouse. It is reliable and the data visualization options are abundant. Our leadership team is miles ahead of others I've seen because of how quickly they were able to learn how to use Looker.

Nachteile:

I don't necessarily see this as a con, however I think there is a big opportunity to help guide some new users through some of the more technical setup of Looker. I relied on a mentor to help take me through LookML and Models/Explores, but I would have loved to have some in product help with this.

The ultimate tool for advanced data analytics and visualisations

Kommentare: My experience with looker has been exceptional since it has helped us to unlock the full potential of our data analysis and visualisation.

Vorteile:

It has phenomenal data exploration features that enable us to maximize our data potential through indepth insights. I appreciate its flexible customization options that help us to visualize data in line with our company requirements.

Nachteile:

Running complex queries on this tool affects system performance occasionally which is not ideal.

Looker review

Kommentare: After months of using it you slowly get more confident in the tool which has a tonne of insights if you can filter down to it.

Vorteile:

The ability to really deep dive into data and match multiple data sets together to find trend lines.Also the platform being compatible with so many datasets!

Nachteile:

It's not the easiest tool to grasp when you first start using it. The ability to view and filter reports from the highest level down to deep niche data should be simplified.

Incredibly Powerful Analytics Platform

Kommentare: It's been a refreshing change to see a tool able to visual data so effectively after using competing mainstream analytics programs (Google and Adobe) for so long.

Vorteile:

A client uses this analytics software, and I have been consistently impressed with the informative dashboards you can build to really dig deep into your website and app data as a cohesive unit. The depth of analysis, and the graphics to visual the data are far superior to competitors in a lot of ways.

Nachteile:

It's not intuitive, and the client's internal analytics team had to set up all of the necessary dashboards because just logging in and poking around is not going to be even remotely enough to understand all Looker can do. It's not laid out in a similar logic as the other mainstream analytics platforms, which means there's a learning curve.

Reporting at another level

Kommentare: The greatest reporting tool. I shared a link with the people who I need to report and they can see the evolution daily, no more reports requests.

Vorteile:

This is a great FREE software. It connects multiple data sources and let you create complex dashboard for data analytics and visualization. Sharing the report saves me a lot of time, i just send the link of the report or export a PDF file and send it. All the charts are updating daily and it can give you a live report of your numbers.

Nachteile:

Adding all data sources gave me some headaches.

I work as the lead BI developer and Administrator of Looker at my company.

Vorteile:

For your developers, the customer service is superior. They also do a great job reaching out to your primary users. With respect to frontend users, those using it for simpler data retrieval/review, their interface is rather easy to use and logical to work through. They do a lot to make the system as simple as possible. Only your BI developers and/or data engineering team can clutter the space.

Nachteile:

If you decide to purchase the non-customized version, the color palette Looker uses is rather bland (More noticeable to executives and heavy users-most users will be fine with it though). The company's integrations are rather limited, but supposed to improve with Looker 5 (via the Action Hub). However, it seems that most integrations will require purchasing from third parties, instead of being a Looker hosted and "controlled" solution you purchase through them. That complicates the process.

Good at accessing our data tables and visually displaying results to clients

Vorteile:

It's a bit of a learning curve to get familiar with everything in Looker, but once you get there it really is a great product. Many different visualization options to show clients what is going on with their customer behavior and identify trends.

Nachteile:

This might be an internal thing, but sometimes when I make a bunch of a changes to a dashboard and click Save, I get an error message. Resulting in having to start over and do each change individually and then saving.

When analytics becomes part of your operations -

Vorteile:

Everything. Looker made it sexy for BI developers, and intuitive easy to use for business user. Their support is extremely knowledgeable and always available if you need any help. Their engineers are brilliant and their hard work is allowing frequent releases that are going in the right directions. Looker is customer driven and will deliver what makes sense for every user. We love the creativity and flexibility this tool is offering us, as we are able to manipulate LookML to create anything, from data extract to Process automation. Their growth is EXPONENTIAL. Their Doc is well maintained so you are never lost. Their community became part of their offering, you cannot find this elsewhere.

Nachteile:

We have been satisfied since day 1! I dislike the fact that our internal users are not curious enough (or don't get it) to explore data on their own. Maybe a different UI would help people discover on their own.

Using Looker at a growing running shoe company

Kommentare: We are solving the problem of inadequate information around all sales-related procedures and processes - from selling at market doors, supply chain and inventory, to online digital acquisition and sales, to internal finance and accounting of corporate business. We have benefitted greatly from Looker by making information quickly accessible to people making decisions and allowing the possibility for them to explore information.

Vorteile:

- Flexibility - With effective use of Looker's Permission and User Attribute features I can be sure that when a certain user (lets say, a sales agent) logs in and views a dashboard they will automatically see information relating to sales accounts that they directly manage or not any irrelevant information.

Nachteile:

- Getting users to go beyond simply making tables with many observations and instead visualising summary information creatively with charts and graphs.

Most Trust Dashboard.

Kommentare: Looker is good for off-Google data sources, but I think it will be great for users who have their data in Google

The ability of Looker to integrate with most of the data resources. that what allowed us to combine smoothly and benefit from Dashboard.

Nachteile:

Looker is a cloud-based version only which is what made some challenges for us to guarantee the quality of the internet and stability for accessing the local databases.
