Ease of Use, integrated with our accounting package easily, easy multi-company usage can use any check stock.
My biggest complaint would be when I was required to buy EZDesigner Pro while paying maintenance on the previous version. I think that should have been an upgrade on maintenance not a repurchase.

Great Reliable Solution!
Vorteile:
It just works! We never have to worry about system errors or other issues that may cause downtimes. Reliability is paramount in our business.
Nachteile:
Nothing that stands out really. Maybe a few more notification features, but other than that, I have no recommendations.
Both maintain and use this software for forms and email
Kommentare: It performed well for our environment and was fairly transparent to the users.
Vorteile:
Handles system reports easily after initial set up. We have only used this on an iSeries so I'm not sure how it would work in other environments. The set up can be a little confusing when laying out a form. The email portion gives some good basic functionality.
Nachteile:
We were not able to use the client software for developing our forms. This is not a fault of the software but our internal resources. What this required was going through the older interface to create the forms.
ACOM was less expensive than our prior document system. It was easy to setup and to get running.
Kommentare: I low cost solution for our document management.
Vorteile:
The cost is probably the biggest Pro. We also like the ease of use, but in the setup and in the document retrieval.
Nachteile:
As we've added additional documents to load, we've run into some issues with the current Import Utility. You switched us over to use ReadSoft, but when we have issues with that, there doesn't seem to be much support for that product. We now are using both ReadSoft and the Import Utility to get all of our documents in to load. We also run into issues with the software from time to time where the import utility seams to just stop working. We are currently working with Tech Support on that. You can end the service and start it again, and it still doesn't import. So the two cons would be the need for two different import utilities, and just the overall reliability of the import utilities.
My experience with ACOM has been great overall. Designer is simple and support is excellent.
Kommentare: Easily the best forms package for the IBMI I've used. Simple form design and management with enough power to handle a lot of specialized tasks.
Vorteile:
The EZDesigner interface makes forms design simple but the product also allows me to use the original green screen interface to manage quick form edits. The product is very full featured and integrates easily with my OS400 based applications. I've had trouble creating very specialized functions on a few of my forms but the support staff has always quickly assisted me in finding a solution to fit my needs.
Nachteile:
I've used other forms design packages in the past and I can honestly say that there aren't many cons. The address book maintenance functions seem to be green screen only and are a little clunky. Some of the other special function setup is also green screen only.
ACOM has been really easy to learn and set up. Customer service is amazing too.
Vorteile:
IT's a set and forget software. Once it's properly installed and set up you won't have to worry about it at all. It's hardly an issue, and if there's one is usually really simple to fix.
Nachteile:
Check print configuration has to be done manually, so it can take a few tries before getting it right.
Good Product
Vorteile:
Use product every day without issue. Very easy to set up and use. Every upgrade makes functionality better.
Nachteile:
Connection with the server at times can be quirky. Deleting items is too easy and need to take extreme care when doing it.
The software is very time consuming on the AP side of things.
Vorteile:
The approval process is much faster than the prior manual approval process. There is an audit log for approvals. I also like that it links the invoices to MAS so users can view invoices directly from MAS. This will improve archiving and pulling information for audit purposes.
Nachteile:
There are so many different softwares and steps to use on the AP side of things. Also, setting up approvers is very cumbersome.
Software permits us to process jobs quickly and utilize resources efficiently.
Kommentare: Process from printing AP checks and the payroll work without issue.
Vorteile:
Ease of use, setup and maintenance. Once software has been setup, use is without issue and allows work to take place without worrying about problems.
Nachteile:
The only con that I can think of and probably from my lack of using the product and not understanding how it is constructed. Seems that vendor has to make changes to the images that the company uses. Again, probably from lack of actual use.
A software that automatically sends invoices and collects payments online? Yes please!
Vorteile:
There is no guess work, as long as you start with the correct information. Everything is set up to streamline your A/P needs!
Nachteile:
Flipping back and forth between pages is a bit of annoyance, it can become tedious after a while. Would be great if that could be eliminated slightly.

Once you learn how to use the software you realize thats its easy to use and easily adaptable to on-goin business needs. The Payables clerk has come across nothing that has stopped her from using the software as indicated.

Your customer service department is one of my favorite to call. They take their time to answer all of my questions. They have never made me feel like the questions I have are wasting their time. Thanks you. The software is fairly simple to use forms are easy to create. EzDesigner Pro does a great job of duplicating what is printed and works well.
Nachteile:
My biggest complaint would be when I was required to buy EZDesigner Pro while paying maintenance on the previous version. I think that should have been an upgrade on maintenance not a repurchase. As for the ezDoc software, the most helpful change would be the ability to start print spools from a specific page #. One of my most common examples would be when we are printing a group of forms/checks and we have a printer issue I must restart from the beginning each time. A few weeks ago I printed 140 check 4 times just to get the last 10. Also it would be nice if I could create files in the Tiff format, my need for this may be going away.
We have been using the ACOM EZPrint software for 10+ years. Very low maintenance system.
Vorteile:
The system was already in place when I started with the company 12 years ago so I wasn't involved with the initial setup of the software package. It is one of the lowest maintenance software packages that we have. The only times I have to do anything is to change the signatures on the checks or perhaps change the 1099 forms. I don't have to do anything for the normal day to day operations that use the EZPrint application.
Nachteile:
Since we upgraded software a few years ago I haven't had to make any changes to any checks or forms but the last upgrade changed the way we have to do our changes. It was switching to a more online system for changes so I have zero experience doing that. So when we do need to change the forms I know I'll have to contact the ACOM help desk to go thru the change process. Some type of online training would be very helpful in this regard and I haven't seen anything from ACOM about that.
They have the best customer support bar-none; I love the GUI interface & still love the Green Screen
Kommentare: Great Checks & Forms for my 110 customers for their Vehicle Auctions, with easy design & interface to our software & data.
Vorteile:
That is versatile and each of my 110 customers can have different designs, printing options, and the customer support is fantastic in case I run into issues with anything.
Nachteile:
That I don't know enough about how sets & groups work, which is because I don't have time to research/learn it. I also (as a senior iSeries Developer myself) get lost trying to figure out ACOM error messages/figuring out program messages because ACOM doesn't create job logs as a general rule.
Great . We would not have had ACH payments as fast as we did with this software.
Kommentare: ACH payments, check printing, email remittance, they also built custom process for us for the bank file.
Vorteile:
Works with no issues. We had custom development and they were great to work with. The ACH works great and printing of checks works very well. Was able to move to standard forms and not preprinted checks any more. Check printing has been reduced by 85% due to ACH payments. The software is saving us money. The email remittance is also a plus.
Nachteile:
We had to write some programs to move files around on our own from ACOM to our Corporate systems. That was not major problem and that has been working with no issues also.
Easy to use
Kommentare: I don't use it daily - but from what I hear it's flexible in the sense you can use it from our ERP, or we can use the standard web based front end without having to go through the ERP. Additionally it's very straight forward - and requires very little training during on-boarding.
Vorteile:
Simple interface; yet powerful for most end users. Single sign on through Sage makes it less to manage as well.
Nachteile:
Could use a more modern/updated face lift for the front end GUI that the end users. Would like to see an easy way to import things in bulk - without having to add through the front end GUI in order to associate it to a sales order.

Vorteile:
The capability to move things around and align/adjust the placement of data on the from based on our needs is definitely a plus The ability to create copies of the main form and tailor the form to meet the needs of our internal customer so the form is not a cookie cutter is also a plus for this software
Nachteile:
Making changes to the form is not very easy. It is difficult to determine where the output would be on the form. For instance making changes on the HTEXT or TEXT line and figuring out the across and down number, is not easy.
The software works with our outdated Oracle JDE World A7.3 Software running on an IBM I-Series.
Vorteile:
The software is easy to use with seamless integration with the I -Series spool files. The newer releases store and access the forms from the IBM I-Series so there is no need to store forms on a PC or Server.
Nachteile:
Once ACOM transforms a form, it loses the original user ID which makes tracking back jobs to users difficult. We have had 2 instances in the last 6 months where ACOM decided to multiply in our corporate logo in size and wreak havoc on the forms/printers. I had to go into each form and reduce the size of the logo.
Excellent product for building your different styles of letterhead
Kommentare: Biggest benefit is to be able to provide the company with a new form in a very short time.
Vorteile:
The functionality of the product. The ease of doing an upgrade. Once everything is set up, this product runs like a well oiled machine. Is very easy to create a new form/outq/printer and put into operation within 15 mins.
Nachteile:
The limited list of new printers available. That is a try one until you get the results you need. Have found out that the HP9000 is best for the Toshibas that I have set up.
Software works great and is easily adaptable to our uses.
Vorteile:
Functions easily and has some great built-in security features. Serves our purposes and allows us to adapt new processes quickly.
Nachteile:
Would like to see a native WUI interface. I've created some basic web based reprint capabilities to allow users to reprint when necessary. Working on some enhancements to it to eliminate the need for engaging higher level support personnel, while incorporating our internal approval processes.
This office finds the software easy to use and administer.

Vorteile:
The workings of the software is transparent to the user. The software is easy to implement. To automate daily functions and to merge the software functions into existing software is a breeze.
Nachteile:
I think the forms and check design PC editor could be friendlier to use. A search function is really needed in the PC Editor.
We use this soft wear package for our Accounts Payable at first it was very hard to get use to.
Vorteile:
It's hard to answer this question to many steps to process one invoice when your processing 100/200 invoices a day.
Nachteile:
1st step for Accounts Payable is to scan all invoice's for payment. invoices scanned into Desktop tools key vendor information route it to the Cat and code the invoices for payment you have to go to 3 different sections to get one invoice paid.
The software works as advertised. The customer support is excellent.

Vorteile:
Ease of form creation and maintenance. Dependability of the product. Customer support is outstanding.
Nachteile:
Learning curve is cumbersome in the beginning. You make so few changes to the forms, it can be difficult to stay current with your knowledge base. However, the Least Thing I Like is being forced to type 100 characters.

Extremely powerful tool for making presentable reports and printouts. It adds the capability of making visually pleasing reports from a iSeries platform
Nachteile:
The documentation could be a little bit better to make starting out simpler. To go with that trying to find information about any errors can be difficult.
ACOM is nice for reformatting spooled files.

Nice for reformatting spooled files and emailing the PDF output. Once a form is setup it is fairly easy to make minor changes.
Nachteile:
Difficult to keep all forms in sync when making changes. It would be better if we didn't need to make separate forms for each email recipient.

Relatively easy to use and works as intended for indexing and retrieving documents. Ismael has been very good at support when needed.
Nachteile:
Lack of compatibility with other browsers. Constant issues with Java versions.
