Great professional tool, harder for beginners or students
Creo is CAD made easy
Kommentare: Overall CREO is a brilliant platform. It brings CAD to those who are limited in drawing skill or have not had extensive CAD training. It enables almost anyone to simply come up with a design be it for University projects, quick 3D printing models and can also be used in the professional sphere.
Vorteile:
The thing I liked most about this software was the ease of use. Unlike other CAD software the user interface is very straight forward and doesn't require the user to have used the products for years to be able to use. The free form capabilities allow for entry level CAD designers to realize whatever design comes to mind
Nachteile:
The Cons was the lack of post production outputs. The graphics for instance is not as crisp as other premium CAD packages. The Software is less cross platform friendly than the other packages I have used.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
Daily CAD-software, if you are able to configure it
Kommentare: We are designing products in the industrial and automotive sector. Most of the products are made out of plastic.
Vorteile:
I use this software daily in my job. You have to do trainings to know what great functions this software has. Also, if you know all config options and mapkeys, you can work very quick and comfortable.
Nachteile:
Price is not really cheap, but OK for a company. Also the configuration is not that easy, but if it's done once, you will have much fun.
Unintuitive and buggy
Vorteile:
Creo integrates with Windchill, but moving between the platforms can be quite confusing.
Nachteile:
Extremely buggy and integration with Windchill should be much better. Other software like CATIA or Solidworks are a lot more intuitive and have much better workflows. I feel like I can accomplish most things in other software packages twice as fast and easily, despite having many more years of experience in Creo.
In Betracht gezogene Alternativen:
Creo by PTC
Kommentare: I will give it 4.5 stars as a result of my experience in 5years.
Vorteile:
The best thing I found in this 3D Modeling software as compared to others is; the drawing options and interface is just amazing with respect to other but at the same time not much user friendly. Creo have to work on making commands easy to use, requiring less expertise.
Nachteile:
Overall, I found this software amazing.
Catia - perfect for designing
Kommentare: On one hand it gives endless possibilities, on the other hand it is so complex that beginner may find it difficult to use it. However definatelly it pays off when you get to know most of the functions.
Vorteile:
CATIA provides a lot of possibilities for 3D designing and assemblies management using toolbar. I believe it is the best software for modelling allow to easily navigate and manage the model(s).
Nachteile:
For new users it may be quite challenging to start using CATIA with all toolbars. Additionally the software is quite expensive.
CAD personified
Kommentare: Creo provides not only simulation but also analytical tools that help every member of a product team do their jobs and understand the product being worked on. I especially like how it serves everyone in one way or the other.
Vorteile:
Creo allows me to view not only assemblies as a whole but also parts as sections of assemblies in 3D. I like the fact that it allows me to separate components into their smallest entities to understand what I need to facilitate my lifecycle management. It’s easy to import into and export out of.
Nachteile:
Creo can be a bit daunting for beginners due to its robust features. It’s also a bit expensive when it comes to licensing fee but many would argue it’s worth the money.
A CAD software with all extensions.
Kommentare: I create 2 and 3 dimensional drawings, design and simulation of projects and also doing the material analysis of my projects.
Vorteile:
The feature that makes me do analysis of my project is the feature that I like most in Creo.
Nachteile:
I don't feel there's any feature missing or any that needs a fix for now, everything is working perfectly for me.

Thank you for enjoying our 3D CAD software!
great 3D mechanical design software
Kommentare: I use this software to make 3d designs as a hobby because I love tools and parts designing, I sometimes use Creo to make the work faster. I love this application because it is easy to use.
Vorteile:
A great design tool but not the best. I like that this software is much easier than any other designing software, if you have complicated work by using Cero you can save time. Also, the rendering is good but not the best. And it has a great user interface with easy and clear grouping.
Nachteile:
They must work on the analysis, this software can do much work and it saves time because it is easier than any other software but the analysis in Creo is bad and doesn't give accurate results so you have to use another software to do it the analysis.
Very robust mid-priced package let down by unintuitive quirks.
Vorteile:
It is incredibly robust and only allows you to design parts properly and very rarely allows failures. This requires a specific workflow but once learned, will mean parts are easier to update going forward without things breaking.
Nachteile:
The restrictive nature of the CAD package and some quirks with its part and body modelling can make it unintuitive and confusing.
Creo Direct Modeling in mechanical engineering
Kommentare: I have always used parametric softwares, which are great when you need a standardization or to rely on some formulas for outcomes, but most of the time in my job as a mechanical engineer in the field of industrial automation I don't need to handle such complexity which ends up slowering me down. For this reason I enjoy very much this alternative which results much more efficient without losing many aspects of the more complex softwares but giving you more freedom
Vorteile:
Very easy to use, Direct modeling not being parametric makes is super easy to get into it and start modeling straight after getting the software even without knowing parametric modeling. I find it great for whoever has a 3D printer and needs to quickly draw parts without the issues of handle parameters and constraints. So, quickness is another great advantage. Finally, it is available also for free with few limitations on groups of parts, making it very suitable also for amateurs
Nachteile:
Of course a big pro can be also a big con, speaking about the lack of parameters, but depending on how someone intends to model an objects, they should know beforehand if this way is the most suitable
Creo
Kommentare: It is very good software for beginners to learn modelling with ease.
Vorteile:
Creo software is a user-friendly software. In this software we make 2D diagrams and convert them to 3D models with advanced modelling features. This software makes users deliver projects in time and model components with accurate dimensions.
Nachteile:
Modification of models in the process of modelling is not possible in this software. Edit sketchs is not available. Some errors are sometimes difficult to resolve. It requires large and high speed internet to work with Creo.
Creo Parametric
Kommentare: Good software to learn and do projects.
Vorteile:
This is an user friendly software makes users to model components easily. Developing 3D models from 2D design is effective in this software. We can model the components with accurate dimensions and can produce in time to the customers.
Nachteile:
Modifications cannot be performed in the middle of the process. This doesn't work on low end systems it requires more space to work. The generated file size is more. Understanding the software is little difficult compared to others like fusion.
Product design
Kommentare:
I love the Creo Tools, one of the best used in the market, has all the functionality and features for creating complex models and parametric parts that are needed in the engineering world, integrates with other downstream tools that I needed for simulation and NC coding.
Single tool that helps designing products volume Industrial and automotive sector.
Vorteile:
Modeling tool helps in engineering the product complexity, very strong tool for automotive companies who deals with complex parts such as powertrain and engines dad needs a lot of parts & assembly. Has advanced features for real time design feedback and helps in improving efficiency with topology optimization. The Sketcher to helps in creating the 2D drawings and industrial drawings that captures the concept level model and can be converted into an actual engineering drawings with the same software. PTC company involved in the digital twin capabilities that integrates the models that can be repurposed for the digital twin and also for the argument reality. simulation tool that are available wait in the creo helps to validate D models trends and product features at the design stage
Nachteile:
Creo is expensive compared to Solidworks or Solidedge. Complex features make it less user friendly, example layer are hassle and need to leatn how to use the system files. Automation has limitation as it follows less programing /API integartions
Creo - A CAD tool with full of possibilities - review based on the versions from Pro/E 2001 to Croe4
Kommentare:
I started working with Creo (earlier known as Pro/ENGINEER) in the year 2004 along with SolidWorks in my first company where I was the main tutor for this two software.
I implemented SolidWorks in a motor manufacturing company along with data migration from AutoCAD to SolidWorks as SolidWorks Certified Support Technician.
Since 2007, In my present company, I am using Creo with Windchill PDMLink on a daily basis. During these years, my journey started as an End User and now I am a Business Administrator of Creo and PDMLink for the users from my country.
I can say though other tools are easy to learn and might seem low cost, they might not match the robustness of the Creo in terms of 3D modelling of complex geometries as well as large assemblies.
I also used Standard Rendering and I was able to produce a very effective images for product catalogs.
I also used Mechanism and Simulation modules and they are quite capable.
Small Scale Industries, those are in search of a tool with fast learning, fast output over robust parametric modelling for short term goals then SolidWorks or SolidEdge is better.
For long term goals of Life-cycle management from development to production to withdrawal, Creo is strongly recommended.
Creo is for 3D CAD modelling, drafting and advance assembly extension for large product manufacturing industries.
*) before making any purchase decision, I would recommend having a hands-on or demo of all the 3D CAD tools with our area of implementation.
Vorteile:
Robust and Advanced Modelling Features including Surface Modeling capability which are capable of easy to very complex geometry. Family Table, Simplified Representations and Flexible Components. Skeleton for a top-down modelling approach Mechanism and Rendering. Plethora of Config options to suit many customer needs.
Nachteile:
Learning Curve is still on the higher side than other rivals such as SolidWorks which has a very fast and shot learning curve. For Creo, Help is not yet so much intuitive as SolidWorks has unless you go for PTC University portal. In Drawing, still, some of the things are not up to the mark as compared to rivals.
Best 3D Cad and assy design software
Kommentare: I am verifying my part without physically making it. I made the cad and then simulate it.
Vorteile:
Command control panel with command name is easy to access.
Nachteile:
Sometime fatal error can make you angry.
Great professional tool, harder for beginners or students
Kommentare: Overall, it is a great professional tool and is probably best used in the industry rather than in educational settings (at least at the elementary/middle school level). While it is great exposure for students to be using professional software, it has a larger learning curve for both teachers and students than other more kid-friendly CAD software out there and it is more expensive than other options available. It is better and easier to print from and has many more functionalities. It just needs to be simplified and streamlined to be successful in the classroom.
Vorteile:
I like that it is high quality, professional, and has a large variety of tools needed to create 3D prototypes. It is often used in the CAD industry so it is great exposure for our students. It worked really well with our 3D printers and printed out great, high-quality prototypes. Our students enjoyed using it.
Nachteile:
One con is that it is not compatible with MAC computers, must have a PC. It must be downloaded and has licenses that need to be purchased whereas TinkerCAD is free online and does not need to be downloaded onto the computer. In addition, if you want younger students or beginners to use this, a lot of accommodations and simplifications need to be made. We had to spend a long time customizing the toolbar to be more accessible and kid-friendly. We had to do a lot more instruction to help students be successful. There are also no built-in trainings or tutorials that are student-friendly like TinkerCAD.

Creo stepped up the game
Kommentare: A solid CAD/CAE tools that confirms its place among the top ones. The final choice between Creo and others is dictated by designer preferences, experience, and secondary tools.
Vorteile:
With the last updates Creo looks like it is doing things properly again, great 2D, great 3D, great miscellaneous tools.
Nachteile:
The learning curve is a bit steep like in all parametric softwares, but once you grasp it it is VERY powerful.
Buggy and Unintuitive
Kommentare: I have to listen to calming music so that i do not break any of my hardware while using CREO 4.0
Vorteile:
There are some minor features that are convenient that other softwares should adopt - such as copy text formatting by selecting the text you want to copy the format of.
Nachteile:
I've been using some form of Creo in multiple Jobs for 10+ years, and the only thing that it is able to do consistently is confuse and annoy me. Oh, you didn't know that you had to push that super secret button to get that feature to show? too bad. Sometimes i think it would be easier to create drawings by taking screenshots from creo with the snipping tool and pasting them into powerpoint. every single time it tries to assume something for you, it does it wrong. Why would I ever assemble objects by selecting surfaces that are NORMAL to each-other?!
Not the best Design Software, but the easiest.
Kommentare: The overall experience with Creo is good it helped me a lot with my graduation project in the university.
Vorteile:
I used Creo in the university to complete my graduation project and still use this software sometimes. The software is powerful with many helpful features. Also, it is one of the easiest tools that you can use to complete any ordered job easily in a short time.
Nachteile:
I think Creo is a professional tool compared with other tools like Solidworks, the analysis and rendering in Creo are somehow weak. The UI is not that great and from the first time, you need time to understand.
Excellent product has the creation of files Mcad, is efficient and fast in mencanic design.
Kommentare: I have done programming and automation work through this software for interactive development in the classroom.
Vorteile:
The generation of an MCAD file which allows generating a sequence of steps that can be programmed for the simulation of the mechanical design made, in addition to its incursion in the electrical design.
Nachteile:
That the electric design tool is not very developed, it should be interactive like the mechanics module, it should also offer different packages with different costs that adapt to the budgets of different users.
Not as powerful as NX, but not as easily usable as Solidworks
Vorteile:
There's a built-in version control called Windchill. There are some online resources you can use, but they aren't very easily searchable. You can get the hang of it eventually. Also, you can do your GD&T in the model itself, which goes into the drawings.
Nachteile:
The Windchill software is very clunky and difficult to use. The online resources aren't easily searchable, and it can be difficult to learn. I preferred NX.
Very powerful after a large learning curve.
Kommentare: Creo and Windchill allow us to design products with a great level of detail and sophistication with good revision control and change notice processes. It is very powerful once you get used to it.
Vorteile:
Creo is very powerful, it has lots of design tools that allow for in depth design of products. When tied in with Winchill the revision control and change notice process can be very controlled.
Nachteile:
The learning curve is steep. I first learned Solidworks, then Fusion 360, then Creo. Even with knowledge of two other cad programs it still took a very long time to get used to Creo. Button placement, different types of clicks, and shortcuts are much more confusing here.
good software
Kommentare: good
Vorteile:
iam using solid works but my mother company in china are using this software so its common in china very much
Nachteile:
i used to use solid works and after i used this software i didn't find any advantage over solidworks ,, even solid works is much more easier
Good but not Great...
Kommentare: Creo is a good software package, but it takes a back seat to Dassault and AutoCAD CAD packages within industries. It just isn't as well known and having Creo on your resume just wont go as far as the prior two mentioned because it is not industry standard...
Vorteile:
Creo was the CAD package I learned first manuevering through engineering school. It has a good Mold/Tooling add-on that provides robust analysis of mold design and mold flow.
Nachteile:
Creo can sometimes be too detailed for its own good. I used it less and less as I began to teach myself Solidworks (because Creo had become too convoluted when I was a novice user). There is a lot to take in starting off and it can sometimes cause a hindrance in achieving what a beginner needs to accomplish to build confidence in their CAD skills.
An advanced CAD software, very suitable for advanced modeling
Kommentare: I use Creo for mechanical engineering 3D modeling (parts and equipment) and the software is quite complete to meet all needs.
Vorteile:
Excellent rendering tools, the possibility to create macros and a good support. In recent versions the software has become friendlier to new users.
Nachteile:
It is complex software that takes some time to be able to perform good modeling. Although there has been an improvement in the ease of operation, it is still not very intuitive.
