Very helfpul free geocoding service

Vorteile:

The api is easy to use and handle most api requests successfully.

Nachteile:

There is not much I do not loke about the geocoding api.

The best solution for geolocation

Vorteile:

Simple to use. Not expensive at all. Does the job.

Nachteile:

it's nt easy to determine the city name.

Recomended Geocoding Software

Vorteile:

It is free and easy to use. Also, it is accurately locate postcodes.

Nachteile:

It could find some postcodes geolocation. Also, it could dind open addresses for some country which doesn’t use postcodes such as Turkey.

Good way to know, where things are

Vorteile:

I've installed a GPS in my car. To tighten my privacy and security I installed a dedicated server to handle notifications from my GPS. LocationIQ was my choice, because its license is available in various options - for my needs the free one was the best option. The accuracy of address determination it pretty good, although in dense urban areas it sometimes give false results. However, the value for money ($0 in my case) is very, very good. Free license is a good starting point. LocationIQ sends you weekly usage reports, which help you track the moment, when license upgrade is needed.

Nachteile:

Sometime the accuracy lacks, especially in dense urban areas (in my home town address returned was 2 streets away, while other location services provided accurate location). Also sometimes usage reports can be confusing - especially when minutely limit sees to be reached, and device is configured to send reports twice a minute.

Perfect for finding locations

Kommentare: I use LocationIQ in conjunction with the Wordpress plugin mapsmarker Pro to find locations .

Vorteile:

LocationIQ is the perfect solution to search locations for Open Streetmap. I use it in conjunction with the Wordpress plugin mapsmarker Pro.

Nachteile:

I can't write anything negative about LocationIQ now. Try it yourself.

A great API for ReverseGeocoding

Kommentare: We are using LocationIQ reverse geocoding with the free plan since a couple of year.Now we are considering upgrading to a paying profile since our demands grew.

Vorteile:

Easy to us API, free plan let you deeply test the functionalities, precision of reverse geocoding.Dashboards are great and email reports useful.No spamming, responsive support.

Nachteile:

Speed limits for roads could be integrated and provided as an additional service.

Great Geocoding Tool

Kommentare: LocationIQ is, in my opinion, the best free service for internal geocoding for most companies. Commercialized and high-volume products are priced fairly, and US addresses & lat/lng coordinates have high fidelity. International addresses have improved significantly over time.

Vorteile:

- Free version has suited our internal needs for geocoding some of our data, best free service I could find - Paid version is reasonable and straightforward. We would likely use if our usage ever spiked or we needed to offer commercial usage - API queries are flexible and help with Address Validation as well as geocoding

Nachteile:

- There used to be significant problems with international addresses (we are a US company, but store some international addresses), but these have been vastly improved in the past few years - We haven't used the map utility in a while, but it was somewhat more difficult to implement and style than other similar tools. This was a couple years ago and may have improved.

Excellent geocoding API for open source project

Vorteile:

The daily quota of geocoding requests in the free plan (10,000) was the highest I found when researching alternative products. This makes LocationIQ fantastic for an open source project that needs geocoding.

Nachteile:

None, the REST API was very simple to integrate into my app and I have received no complaints from users regarding the geocoding functionality it provides.

LocatioIQ Geocoding API

Kommentare: I'm very satisified with my current expierence with LocationIQ.
Support responds quickly.
LocationIQ is open for any suggestion which may improve their product.

Vorteile:

I choose LocationIQ API because it has features not available from other vendors, such as: - reference to OSM identifier - extratags with extra data - geometry included with the response The APi is reasonable priced. After over a year I can say it 's pretty stable (no offline incidents).

Nachteile:

The documentation may contain more examples, how to use LocationIQ API, and not only describe endpoints and request nad response payloads.

Superb solution for device tracking

Vorteile:

I use this for location tracking on mobile phones - so my home automation (Home Assistant) knows where the users are

Nachteile:

None that I can remember

Excellent service, ideal for tracking solutions

I use this software for reverse geocoding on private Traccar installation. I have not experienced any down time in the last 2 years.

Nachteile:

The the returned addresses are not as detailed as other options and the post codes are not always correct.

Affordable services, with a large enough free use quota

Vorteile:

- Free use quota - daily 10,000 free calls - Extremely easy to set up - Easy dashboards to understand the number of calls and analytics - API endpoints were never down

Nachteile:

- The location data is yet to catch up with the amount of information that Google has. While locationIQ is a great product, sometimes the results are not what we expect/ sometimes no result at all.

Great reverse geocoding API

Vorteile:

The product is very easy to use and integrates perfectly with my private Traccar server for reverse geocoding. The data is accurate and I haven't encountered any downtimes.

Nachteile:

Nothing that I can think of, except maybe that some of the street names in my country are written in cyrillic, while other in latin.

Best alternative to google map api!

Vorteile:

LocationIQ has fast responsive time and most importantly... reasonable price, which makes it the best alternative to google map api.

Nachteile:

POI is not as comprehensive as google map's tho, and localization still needs improvement.

Nice and easy API to get GEO Data

Kommentare: They're a great bunch. Are responsive to what I need and are friendly to deal with.

Vorteile:

Free and easy to use to spit out basic maps when users need them

Nachteile:

The free tier is fairly limited but I don't get enough users to take full advantage of the better request rates so have dialled down my usage accordingly.

Kommentare: I'm using LocationIQ services for (reverse) geocoding tasks. Requests are very fast and reliable.

Maybe better adjustments for international / regional particularities.

Best API i use for all clients

Kommentare: Great experience no spammy emails only one asking me to review.
I get weekly metrics and analytics which is great to send to customers

Vorteile:

With constant uptime and an insane amount of free calls being allowed this has been a setup and forget its running since the start. Easy to setup and reliable enough to forget about it. Theres probably something wrong with your code, not LocationIQ

Nachteile:

Not really any cons, being in a third world country its quite expensive but still very relative to other players in location api market

excellent geocoding alternative to Google maps
