Kommentare: My overall experience with BrowserStack is great, I still remember when I first integrated with Browser stack, and saw the standalone remote test run 5 years back! It was so cool!

Vorteile:

Its a great tool for web and mobile based applications, where I need to test various devices. Comes in handy with all the configurations, well documented about the usage. For a beginner to expert, its a very good tool!

Nachteile:

Sometimes I noticed minor bugs, like the same build from CI runs twice. So they can be better tested before releases.

Browser Stack - The all-in-one testing solution

Kommentare: It is good so far. Will be exploring Live, Automate, Test Management and other side of it.

Vorteile:

App Live and App Automate. Will be exploring Live and Automate for WEB.

Nachteile:

No such con to mention as such. I would like the team to work on APP Performance Testing which can share App metrics(Device metrics like memory, cpu, battery etc) along with ui rendering time and api response times.

Kommentare: Using BrowserStack has been a game changer for the many teams that I've led in different organizations who chose to subscribe, it provides guaranteed ROI and great bang for the buck, in addition to all the amazing technical features that allowed all my teams to use it effectively and efficiently. And of course to me personally as an open-source contributor, being able to test my open source project against any device or OS I can think of has been a great help to identifying and fixing issues as fast as possible. Especially after integrating BrowserStack in my GitHub Actions pipelines.

Nachteile:

Honestly, there's nothing I don't like about BrowserStack.

BrowserStack has strong after sales support and continuously evolving as per trends and bringing the features needed for QA community.

Nachteile:

They can improve on boot time for Real Mobile devices for enhanced customer experience and Network Logs analyser could be better as compared to other product offerings.

Kommentare: Service was good. Responsiveness was good, but our time to keep the system running was very high.

It is a very mature system with a lot of powerful features.

Nachteile:

Due to the age of the architecture, there are performance issues. And the approach requiring multiple IP addresses which needed to be white listed, and constantly changed were a major nuisance.

Browserstack is affordable for a single user – that's the main reason I chose it. As the only user in the team, I was looking for a tool that allows me to keep my documentation organised and offers an affordable plan.

Nachteile:

I'm a new user – haven't found any cons yet.

Easy to use and integrate, cross-browser and device test, parallel execution - Go with BrowserStack

Kommentare: Overall experience is good until now. We are happy with the parallel execution, easy configuration and integration features.

Vorteile:

BrowserStack is very easy to use product. It was very easy to configure the tool with existing and new projects. We bought the license along with parallel execution which really helped in reducing the execution time.

Nachteile:

There is nothing as such that we like least. We are supposed to used all the features that BrowserStack is providing.

Save your time with BrowserStack

Kommentare: I would recommend this platform to all the developers who write codes, build websites but don’t have many devices or browsers available for testing. It is a real timesaver and a wonderful solution for developers. I recommend you to go for BrowserStack and increase the productivity of your team.

This platform is a real savior for developers: it saves a lot of time and resources. Maybe you don’t have all possible browsers installed on your PC or all possible devices at hand, but there is no need to worry. You can test your code on BrowserStack. The platform is very reliable, it is pleasant to know that it works without any glitches. In addition, the platform is being regularly updated, so you can test your code on the latest devices and browsers. If you have built a website and you are interested in how it looks like when accessed via various browsers or different devices, then BrowserStack may come to your assistance. First of all, it shows whether the site works and finds the errors if there are any. Secondly, the platform allows you to see the design of the site on different browsers. And finally, you may also want to know if the website is available on devices or how it looks. You don’t need to look for all possible devices, iOS or Android, you can just trust the job to BrowserStack.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it works a bit slow but I don’t think that the problem is connected with the platform, probably it depends on the internet speed. You can not test a few browsers at the same time. I would like to see this problem solved because browsers are many and it takes a long time to test the browsers one by one. BrowserStack suggests four plans but to my mind, all of them are expensive. I would like to see a cheaper platform.

The full web testing suite

Kommentare: We are testing our website projects against all browsers - operating systems and devices to fix errors, bugs and behavior. Without BrowserStack, testing on all those devices and browsers would be impossible to afford and maintain.

Vorteile:

We are using BrowserStack to test our web applications on every platform there is and fix all bugs, design glitches, gestures etc. Having all those different devices, operating systems and browsers available is impossible. Thanks to BrowserStack not only we can test our websites on different browsers-platforms but we can document and verify everything using screenshots. The GeoLocation testing is very cool because we can test our websites which are available only in our country and need to know for sure if the website restricts user functionality for the rest of the world.

Nachteile:

The plans that include Selenium which is of interest to us, are very pricey and it's difficult to afford if a company has low-budget websites on its list. For big companies that handle big projects with thousands of users these plans are affordable and a must-have especially for Single Page Applications and high-traffic websites.

Kommentare: As Administrator my impression are good as like mentioned in pros section, the maintenance is not so high. One point that I think is a shame is the way the live testing seats are handled. Seats must be dedicated to users and they are underused.

Vorteile:

- Configuration easy to build. - Little maintenance and support from administrator side. - Users and Teams of each project can easily use the system and get support. - Stability and functionalities.

Nachteile:

- This system is good but not cheap. - Missing flexibility in managing Live testing seats. - Some of our Teams used specific framework which are not supported (Flutter for instance). - Need to rely on each Team to ensure follow up on what's executed on BrowserStack.

Kommentare: I am pleased with browserstack but think there are some improvements that can be made. When I reach out to my account manager about issues it takes a while for them to get back or they don't understand my issue. As well as not being happy about purchasing a tier for a product and then having those features taken away from me.

Vorteile:

Accessibility to quickly jumpstart building a regression test suite from the ground up using low code automation. The ease in which I can build and edit a test. Test management is one of my favorite features, being able to store and look back on every manual test I have run is important in my industry as it is highly regulated.

Nachteile:

I purchased the essentials tier for low code automation. The features available in that tier were then moved to the Pro tier once the product went live. I don't feel like that is the right thing to do to your loyal customers

Good platform to scale web and mobile testing

Kommentare: No platform specific bugs missed anymore.
We ended up on a few physical devices (while the rest of testing is on BrowserStack cloud) without loosing the quality of testing.

Vorteile:

Ease of switching from local testing to testing in the cloud. Ability to group test results and generate basic reports. Ability to include test execution video in JIRA bug reports. Ability to re-start manual session with the same parameters as previous one.

Nachteile:

Response time of their endpoints changes unpredictable over the day. That affects some testing, especially when we need to test some dynamic elements such as progress indicators in our mobile apps (that appear just for a few seconds so test cannot capture them opposite to local testing). Pretty complicated learning curve for newbees. When junior member joined my team, I needed to spend 3 hours explaining him basics about our test automation infrastructure built around BrowserStack.

Excellent tool for manual browser testing

Kommentare: Positive; it helps my team to avoid mistakes and generally verify the high quality of our websites across devices.

Vorteile:

Working as a developer at a large retailer, I use Browserstack almost daily to test our website changes (internal and external) across a wide range of devices. Browserstack is particularly useful compared to competitors because it has the widest range of actual devices (physical, not emulators), including many older devices.

Nachteile:

Dev tools occasionally act strangely on iOS devices, cutting off elements in the Elements panel for example.

The best available tool for testing

Kommentare: Its been such a huge help on my daily testing, be it for web or apps

- Session timeout - Gets slow if apps are too heavy - Would like a more detailed/code oriented dev tools

Best platform for mobile and web application testing.

Kommentare: Overall browserstack is better than other cloud hosted competitors. Jenkins configurations are most convenient. TOSCA like codeless automation tools can be possible along with test management tools like qtest,Jira , bamboo etc.

Vorteile:

Best cloud hosted devices for cross platform and cross browser testing of application. Lots of devices options for mobile application testing as well. Visual testing automation is also possible. It supports almost all kind of frameworks for the selenium, appium, playwright.

Nachteile:

ios devices lags a lot can't work properly for manual testing. Documentations needs improvement.

Real easy to use

Vorteile:

I love Browserstack for it's ease of use and no fighting over sessions for a particular device like other rival companies. It's always available and performance is good on at least 80% of devices and desktop browsers.

Nachteile:

There are some performance issues with some desktop browsers like Mac, and some devices but most work flawlessly. I wish we had an option for multitaps.

Great tool for any QA job

Kommentare: Overall, BrowserStack has been a great tool for QA at my current job and I have used it consistently over the last 5+ years. I can't imagine going back to not using it, now that it has become such an integral part of my day-to-day work.

Vorteile:

I like how it is all web-based and quickly connects to additional devices/browsers in order to test applications and web pages. It's very nice being able to officially support devices and browsers that you normally wouldn't have easy access to obtain or test against.

Nachteile:

Some of the paid products have steep pricing models. There are also times where devices will just get stuck on a loading screen and don't officially boot-up which can get a little annoying when you are just wanting to quickly test something.

Testing on multiple mobiles made easy

Kommentare: This tool is essential for a frontend developer and tester. You can have a peace of mind that your pages display correctly on every popular device out there.

Vorteile:

Cross browser testing and debugging is quick, with easy to use interface. They provide real mobile and desktop browser combinations, including the newest iPhone and Android smartphones. Whatever device/browser your customers are using, they've got it. And eve though the device reaction time is not instant, you are viewing real device which is always better than even the best emulator.

Nachteile:

Local Testing using BrowserStack's provided binary sometimes didn't connect.

Very good and reliable tool for testing web apps on many devices

Kommentare: Very happy with wide range of devices I can test on from both iOS and Android where I do most of my testing. Service is quick to connect has a lot of features like being able to access dev tools to inspect pages etc.
BrowserStack is probably the best service in the game if you want to test your web applications across many devices and operating systems.
There are few minor problems sometimes with input lag, but that could be due to internet connections and not really a fault of team developing the service

Vorteile:

Wide range of devices to test on. Quick to connect and start testing

Nachteile:

Sometimes mobile devices on browserstack do not behave exactly the same as own devices when tested. Input lag can sometimes be problematic, especially mobile page scrolling

One stop for all testing roadblocks

Vorteile:

In the old days, it was rather hard and time consuming to test and upload any Dev changes unless it has been thoroughly tested and ensured all across all platforms. The tricky part was not to test but the availability of these devices and platform to make life simpler for a QA team. With browser stack you can span across OS and browser and even test your app without relying on multiple tester. It has ensured it has covered all the basics as well as cope up with the increasing demand of new OS and browser that people look forward to use and ensure a bug free product

Nachteile:

Since this is one of its kind product it is hard to find a drawback with it
