Great free version

Vorteile:

I use the free version of this software and as expected there are not many bells and whistles with it, however, the software meets my needs. The virtual waiting room saves me time daily. I also think the interface is very intuitive with user buttons in the places you would expect them. Finally, the meeting log allows me to review the length of my sessions, so I do not have any billing issues.

Nachteile:

The only thing I see as an area of improvement would be to have a subscription rate between free and professional that would allow for a user to have access to the screenshare and file transfer features. While $35/month seems reasonable for an individual with a full-time private practice, $420 per year is somewhat prohibitive to someone with a part-time private practice.

Easy and User Friendly

Kommentare: Great overall experience! Doxy is user friendly, easy and it's very easy to send clients the link for logging on and they can keep using the same one or just easily send them another link if they can't find the original link in their old emails.

Vorteile:

Having the free version that still allows for therapy sessions to last an hour or more.

Nachteile:

I haven't really found a downside; occasionally the audio doesn't work for either my side or the other person's side but never quite sure if that's an internal Doxy glitch that occurs sometimes or it's just technology gremlins that can happen with any computer. I resolve it by using my cell phone to call the client and we still have the visual to see each other.

Easy to use but unreliable

Kommentare: Ease of use is the only reason I've not switched to another platform, but if the dinging continues, I will, because it renders the product unusable. I have a couple of clients who experienced problems frequently enough that they've asked me just to schedule Zoom sessions with them so that they don't have to deal with Doxy.Me.

Vorteile:

The best thing about Doxy.Me is how easy it is for both me and my clients to use. There is nothing to download, and I don't have to set up each meeting individually. Clients can use the same link every time. Its basic features are exactly what I need.

Nachteile:

The software is unreliable. I've experienced a lot of freezing, dropped calls, and times when it just wasn't even possible to connect. It's more than just a once in awhile problem. If a client is on their phone, they can't seem to access the chat window, for reasons unknown. Recently, I started hearing dings every 30-40 seconds, as though a new person joined the waiting room, but there is no new person. It's been incredibly distracting both for me and for clients. I attempted to contact customer support about it but have not heard back.

Easy to Use, worth every penny

Kommentare: I have used Doxy for 4 years. I checked out a number of competing platforms, all of which had more cons than pros. Doxy keeps it simple for me and more importantly, for my clients.

Vorteile:

This is the simplest, most user-friendly telehealth platform I have ever used, including the one within the EMR system I use. Also, it's easy to add multiple participants, so it works great for meetings as well as therapy sessions.

Nachteile:

The security measures make the connection a little fussy i.e. if your camera has been used on another platform and that software is not closed, Doxy will not allow a video connection. I just have to be careful and prepared to troubleshoot with clients.

AMAZING product.

Kommentare: It's been a huge lifesaver. I hadn't done telehealth much before this year, and doxy has helped me adjust.

Vorteile:

LOVE the white board and waiting room-it's always reliable and super easy to use with clients. It helps make telehealth more engaging, interactive, and personal.

Nachteile:

NOTHING. I really have no suggestions or cons.

Great platform, capable of resolving problems.

Kommentare: Doxy.me is great! I'm very pleased with it and will continue using it as long as I'm in business. Other than the long delayed help with technical problems, doxy.me is great. I'll bet that in the future they will not allow a complaint to linger for months as they are perfectly capable to helping resolve such problems.

Vorteile:

It's easy to use and the price is affordable.

Nachteile:

It worked fine when we started, but when there was a problem (freezing, audio loss, making sessions frustrating and discouraging clients) Doxy was slow to help though I kept complaining for months. When they finally contacted me directly and worked with me the problem was resolved perfectly. They had said to use Chrome, but now they said use Firefox. The other issue was my ethernet cable which had a problem (I thought ethernet was to be preferred but cables wear out - who'd have guessed?) going over to Wi-Fi then totally fixed it.

Doxy me / psychiatry

Kommentare: Excellent. Easy to use for a low tech person.

Ease of use. Reliable over years. Keeps record of time spent on visit for future reference.

Nachteile:

people can get frozen but usually recovers. Not sure how much compared to other telemed platforms.

Best Medical Practice Assistant

Kommentare: Providing excellent, HIPAA compliant telemedicine is a must for our practice. Being able to meet patients where they are at, instead of having them wait, take time away from work or family, and make sure their healthcare needs are met is the number 1 reason we use this program in our practice. It is an excellent program.

Vorteile:

I love the ease of use. I like that there is nothing to download for the patient or provider. Everything is cloud based. Can be used on any device with a camera and internet access.

Nachteile:

Sometimes based on internet service providers, the service can be slow. But this is an outside problem.

Great product and extremely affordable

Kommentare: Overall Doxy.me is great. I highly recommend this site for business and individual providers. You receive a lot of services for your money and being able to say you have a free HIPAA compliant service is amazing.

Vorteile:

Doxy.me is very easy to use. It is very self-explanatory. I set up 10 accounts for providers at our office and showed them how to use them. Even our providers who are not tech-savvy had no issues.

Nachteile:

I have no complaints. Some of our providers only use the free feature and the connections are great, the virtual waiting room is great and none of our clients have had complaints. One of our providers paid for a level one so they could share their screen and utilize the texting feature. Another provider pays so she is able to host group therapy with 8 clients and everyone has had success.

So happy I switched!

Kommentare: My appointment reminders, which I send myself, have the same meeting link creating simplicity for my clients. There are not very many distractions with certain extra features and the screen size defaults in a way that I have the best opportunity to observe my client's non-verbals. It helps me to do the best version of my work when I'm not doing it face to face.

Vorteile:

I really enjoy how doxy.me gives me one link to use all the time. It's simple in overall use. It's designed for the needs of clinicians and provides those needs at a substantially reduced price of other popular platforms that do not cater to clinicians. I particularly like the "pay by the day option" as I think is a great flexibility for clinicians who are still building their caseload. I also viewed it from the client's perspective and it provides a generally professional look while also being easy for the clients to use with their devices.

Nachteile:

When I log on, the camera and microphone are already on. I would like the option to default them to being off.

Love the reliability and professional feel

Kommentare: Doxy.me has been a really great aspect of my practice. It's HIPAA compliant and gives me a very clean, polished way to offer telehealth therapy sessions. Any questions I had were also really quickly answered by customer service, both as I was onboarding and throughout my use of the product.

Vorteile:

I needed a HIPAA compliant platform for teletherapy sessions, so that is a critical part of what makes me like Doxy.me. It's reliable and I have only ever had a few random issues with connectivity (that were likely due to the internet connection of the client). I also really like customizability of the look at the premium level. I have had many patients comment on how professional the waiting room and the layout of the call looks because I am able to use my logo and other branding.

Nachteile:

I have no concerns about the software. It's given me no consistent issues that weren't due to connectivity.

I tried the upgraded version to check out the background effects and was not overly impressed so I went back to the free version.

Awesome platform for individual or couple's counseling

Kommentare: Simple to use, even for the most computer-challenged!

This product is very easy to use for both my staff and clientele.

Nachteile:

My only complaint is that it really doesn't work well for groups larger than 4, which Doxy tells you. During the pandemic we have needed to run group therapy online, and sadly had to access another platform for that.

Essential Business tool

Kommentare: Seamless transition: working from the comfort of my office to moving my practice online. Doxy Offers the security that is mandatory for my work.

Vorteile:

User friendly, secure, affordable, I appreciate that I can purchase some features on a need to use basis/ monthly

Nachteile:

I would appreciate a more affordable rate to upgrades. ie: more than one participant, But i do appreciate that I can purchase features at a monthly rate with out having to buy in for an annual fee

Excellent app for my practice

Kommentare: excellent; especially during this period of Coronavirus and need to change my care to online. I've used Doxy.me pretty much since its inception many years ago and have alway liked the program. As a result, I've told many colleagues about it and as a result several large clinics in the Portland Metro area use it.

Vorteile:

aside from the fact that it's free, it is very easy for my providers and patients to use. they don't need to download anything and access my virtual waiting room directly from the URL.

Nachteile:

the free version doesn't give any direct customer support but able to email concerns and receive relatively rapid responses

Why I like Doxy.me

Kommentare: Well, I do video conferencing with my therapy clients. I was living in the Bay Area, and have since moved to a more rural area. But several of my clients wanted to continue therapy, and this has been great for us. In addition, the rural area I'm in has a lot of people in mountainous regions around me where there are few mental health care services; so, they are able to have therapy services through video. It's pretty awesome. Doxy.me has helped make that possible.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of use mostly. I don't do a lot of fancy things. I just connect to clients, and we talk. Client can talk to me from any browser on any device, so it's portable. They just need access to the internet. I've never had a problem with the connection being too slow or dropping because of Doxy. Comcast, however, is another story...:-)

Nachteile:

I honestly can't think of anything. If I had something to say about this, I certainly would, but I don't. :-)

I really want to like Doxy.me

Kommentare: I like the simplicity, but the platform has more issues than SimplePractice (in terms of internet, dropouts, et cetera). I wish this issue could be fixed, since I don't know of any similar platforms (in terms of simplicity, which is really helpful with clients.

Vorteile:

The simplicity - it's great that the client does not need to download and install anything - not all clients are very computer savvy.

Nachteile:

It's unbelievably glitchy. As an older therapist, I work only part time. I use Doxy.me for about 10 hours a week. However, it's rare that I make it through an entire hour without a problem. I often have to resort to using the phone, et cetera. Additionally, Doxy.me has had periodic problems with which browsers it works on. As a Mac user, I prefer Safari as my browser. For a couple of months, I used Doxy.me on Safari, and it ran acceptably (I'm not talking about the glitchy issues here). Then, I began to have a problem with sound. I'd sign in, but clients couldn't hear me. I finally spoke to someone at Doxy.me and they told me that it wasn't working on Safari, wouldn't work on Firefox, and they recommended a microsoft browser that I don't think is still in existence. I asked about Google Chrome, and for a while, Doxy.me worked fairly well. However, the problems with dropouts seem to be getting worse, rather than better. I don't think I can continue to use this software.

Simple, cost effective, solution based-- great choice for my business!

Kommentare: HIPAA compliance in providing tele therapy has been a huge plus with this product. Using this product has helped me provide boutique service to more clients. I am excited about existing features like appointment scheduling, online forms and file sharing because it allows me to grow my business at my own pace, cost effectively!

Vorteile:

Integrating this product into my weekly schedule remains relatively seamless. Clients are able to connect with little or no issues on multiple devices. I really appreciate the time management feature because it helps me track session dates and times easily, which is especially helpful when my calendar is particularly busy! I find screen sharing and Bluetooth capability a big plus as well. Easy access to the platform for clients is the most appreciated quality of this product!

Nachteile:

The handling of connections can always be improved upon due to technology changes and updates. From time to time, I experience dropped connections and lagging connection times during high usage periods, usually mid-morning and early evening times for my business. Occasionally the video appears grainy.

Virtual Platform Made for Consumers

Kommentare: I used Doxy.me when I began seeing therapy clients virtually. It helped as many individuals were able to receive the link either via email or text, thus, they could easily connect and continue engaging in sessions. It is easy to host individual or group sessions when the application is running properly. However, at times the application was very lagged and would drop sessions without notification, resulting in taking more time to reconnect on multiple occasions. It was used in a larger organization and seems to continue evolving as the needs are met of workplaces.

Vorteile:

Doxy.me is made for consumers as they do not have to download anything to utilize the software. Consumers simply click a link that is either emailed or texted to them, making it easy to connect. You can host single sessions or groups. You can send a link directly from the application to consumers without using your email, which aids in maintaining confidentiality. You can also submit forms for the consumer to see and sign on their end, which makes it hassle free and aids in lost paperwork.

Nachteile:

Doxy.me does not always seem to have a stable connection, resulting in lots of dropped sessions. If either the user or the consumer does not have a good internet connection, it may result in blurry and lagging pictures may be blurry or simply dropped connections. If you are hosting a group with another user, only one individual may be the host which can become frustrating as you are attempting to let consumers into the room, mute others if needed, and host at the same time. If you are required to confirm physical location of consumers, there is an option to see where they are located, however, it was not always accurate and would list individuals in other cities/states.

VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS FOR MEDICAL TELEHEALTH

IT'S A SOLID, PREDICTABLE PROGRAM THAT'S VERY EASY TO USE, VERY RELIABE, GOOD QUALITY VIDEO, IT WAS OUR VIRTUAL PLATFORM OF CHOICE IN MARCH 2020 WHEN FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENTS HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS. WE USE THIS PROGRAM QUITE HEAVILY AND EVEN MORESO WHEN WE ADDED PSYCHIATRIC TELEHEALTH MEDICATION EVALUATION AND FOLLOW UP SERVICES. NOT ONE PROBLEM AT ALL WITH THIS PROGRAM FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS. I HIGHLY...HIGHLY....RECOMMEND IT.

Nachteile:

NOTHING...THE PROGRAM WAS IMPROVED UPON WITH MORE FEATURES ADDED. IT IS VERY COMPEITITIVELY PRICED

Easy to use.

Vorteile:

Hipaa compliant. Free option, some paid features. No software required- runs on internet browser. Good mobile app. No log-in code required for each session . Clients don't have to register. Clients can log into the "waiting room" at any time. Custom virtual waiting room. You can message clients in the system.

Nachteile:

Only runs on certain internet browsers. If I open another program (Skype, Facetime), I generally have to reboot my computer for Doxy to recognize my microphone again. Video and audio quality varies - often freezes up. Freezing up may be in part due to either my internet speed or the client's internet speed, so I am not sure how they could fix this. They do offer different quality levels (to match the internet speed) however on the paid version.
