A Must-Have for Professionals

Kommentare: Since using PowerPoint, I have noticed a significant change and the way I am viewed within my organization. My peers and superiors have both noticed how confident I am while conducting quality presentations, and for that I have PowerPoint to thank.

Vorteile:

I love that PowerPoint has several options when it comes to slide design. Presentations can be very bland, so adding a design that's aesthetically pleasing is extremely helpful when I'm trying to grab the attention of my peers and superiors.

Nachteile:

I have not had any bad experiences with PowerPoint.

Building Connected Rocks

Kommentare: Love it makes my life easier

Vorteile:

The ease of use and the ability to manage large amounts of information with ease. The projects run threw Building Connected are streamlined and increase productivity overall.

Nachteile:

Not having the ability to edit contacts information in our data base with out having the user to log in and confirm the edits some times our subs are not tech savy enough to log in.

Practically a file share with a few extra functions

Vorteile:

-Upload speeds are fast -ability to organize contractors is helpful -one stop shop for emailing helps with mass solicitations

Nachteile:

-Interface is very basic -Organizing and moving files is very difficult. Once you upload files its nearly impossible to move them 10 folders up -Navigation to add subs after bids are sent is difficult

Building Connected has increased our business

Kommentare: We started using BC in 2018 and more than doubled our revenue the following year. Add BC was a large contributor to that success.

Vorteile:

Easiest and best way we have found to send and track bid invitations to a targeted recipient.

Nachteile:

There are no enough key work options in the bid package to cover all of the bid I need.

So easy to use!

Vorteile:

I like how user friendly it is. I also really like that each user controls their account but if I notice it's not up to date, I can make a suggestion. Crowd sharing is brilliant!

Nachteile:

I would like to make comments for a particular company which can only be seen internally but without actually rating them. Right now, to make a comment, you have to rate them from 1-5 stars. But sometimes I need a comment about the contacts at a company, etc.

User Friendly Software

Vorteile:

easy to use, user friendly, simple, the bid-form section is awesome!!

Nachteile:

would be great if they had an RFI section to use like Procore has.

Great Construction Resource

Kommentare: Overall I will continue to use the software as it is a very reliable source.

Vorteile:

I get receive 30% of my bid invites through Building Connected. Very organized. Nice layout. Definitely a recommended source.

Nachteile:

The bid form is a bid to much others I have been on I put on the amount the scope and then drop my estimate in. With this software its a draw out process.

Software to Highly Organize Your Procurement Process

Vorteile:

The software is a great organization tool in that you can upload all your RFP and bid documents and send to your vendor list. All information regarding a specific bid is stored in one place, which makes it easy to access all documentation related to a specific project.

Nachteile:

A downside is that the software is designed for desktop computer use only. Because so much of construction takes places on the project site, it would be helpful if you could access bid and project documents through a mobile app.

Must use Building Connected

Kommentare: Customer service is amazing, most of the time I receive a response within 30 minutes. This tool has helped us consolidate our bids into one place.

Vorteile:

I use Building Connected daily to collect, request, and modify sub vendor bids for all of our projects. It's easy to use and has a nice user interface.

Nachteile:

There are a few features that could be expanded on. They should focus more on their tool than trying to build other tools to expand in other markets.

Total Bid Management in 1 Localized Place

Kommentare: BC has helped our estimating & preconstruction department streamline our entire bid invite & management process. It has allowed us to localize all data and information in 1 platform. It has also allowed us the benefit of all team member having access to the most up to date information no matter where they are at. Being web-based makes it easy to log in remotely and get updates without having to contact other team members to ensure you are looking at the most up to date information.

Vorteile:

BC is extremely user friendly, allows the entire preconstruction team to stay on the same page, and auto updates as changes are made and bidder statuses are updated. BC has streamlined our entire process, allowed to gain more subcontractor outreach and bid coverage. One of the great features that BC provides is the data analytics. Our company is easily able to identify market segments we are more successful in, clients we are the most successful with & subcontractors and suppliers that are the most responsive and competitive for us. The bid leveling feature has allowed us to set-up and compare bids directly in BC without having a separate program or spreadsheet for this. This is key as it allows all team members direct access to the most up to date information at the click of a button.

Nachteile:

One of the features is that subcontractors are responsible to create their own free accounts and keep them updated. One of the issues we had to navigate around and create processes for was making sure we always had the most up to date subcontractor contact person.

The best tool can make our bids more competitive.

Kommentare: Building Connected provided us with the opportunity to network with organizations we may not have otherwise encountered, allowing us to increase the competitiveness of our bids.

Vorteile:

For a quote on a task, take advantage of BuildingConnected's unique feature that allows you to collaborate with different office locations within the same company profile to acquire an estimate. It's also extremely simple to operate. You can invite existing building connect companies to participate, as well as invite new trades. Changes to the tender package can be made quickly and easily without having to email each contractor individually.

Nachteile:

In areas where the BuildingConnected can readily perform magnificently, there aren't many dislikes, and we haven't had any issues with it yet, which is encouraging.

Solicit & Communicate Efficiently

Kommentare: Top notch product with excellent customer support that improves our ability to win work.

Vorteile:

BuildingConnected provides users an intuitive interface to organize and solicit subcontractors and vendors on construction projects large & small. The project information tab has the ability to capture an convey general project information both internally and externally feeding into the strong analytical tools. The files tab allows for user customization to project specific documents and requirements. I have not run into a situation where the information could not be organized and presented the way I wanted it to. The bid packages tab is really where the program shines. Packages can be created based upon specific project needs, bidders added efficiently and accurately, subcontractor action tracked and monitored, costs tracked, and costs forecasted. The remainder of the resources and information only serves to complement the core components and solicitation requirements of the tabs above.

Nachteile:

Webpage is not optimized for mobile devices. Analytics do not allow for individual projects to be excluded which diminishes the value of the reporting.

If you bid commercial flooring projects this is indispensable

Kommentare: I have always liked and used it in the companies I have worked for and this software has improved with the times, with significant developments.

Vorteile:

The fact that you can see many of the bids available throughout the USA and the pertinent Builders

Nachteile:

I can't say that I dislike this software. I only am curious about the availability of my info that could be used without my knowledge if I used their bid function?

Building Connected Review

Kommentare: I've been using building connected for two years and its been great. It is very easy to use not only for the estimating team but also for our subcontractors. If the project if awarded to our company we then invite the project management team to the project. They download all the bid forms submitted to an excel document that is later used during scoping meetings.

Vorteile:

Easy to use Communication with subcontractors is very easy Can add notes Very easy to upload bid forms and scope description Easy to see who has submitted bids and identify low bidder immediately Easy to download bid form for additional scoping

Nachteile:

One of the things I like the least about the software is that when we have to send bid invites to only specific subcontractors we have to go through the entire list and uncheck the ones we don't want to invite. This can be a little time consuming when we have to delete 20 or more subcontractors from our work package. The only other thing that could be improved is better identification of union vs non-union subcontractors.

REVIEW

Kommentare: since we dont have any real support, its like paying for the support needed, tracking subs is a huge advantage in getting coverage.

Vorteile:

FINDING SUBS THROUGH THE SEARCH IS GREAT, THAT IS HALF THE BATTLE, IF THERE NOT IN THERE, ONE YOU PUT IN COMPANY EMAIL, IF THERE RECOGNIZED ALL THE INFO SHOW UP. Notes for each subs, add people, who viewed documents, is really nice,

Nachteile:

When i have a sublist, converting to excel is great but, i want the option to list, by category, bid, viewed , undecided, not bidding, it prints the entire list, that is annoying. THe other item need fixing, is for sub to view plans and documents easier, it is difficult when they think they have to sign up and they dont need to. i get a fair amount of calls about that.

Our Daily Work Horse

Kommentare: Accountability for our staff's productivity. Streamlines the bidding process, start to finish.

Vorteile:

This software helps our project managers stay organized with their to-do list of projects and holds our team accountable for their productivity with bidding. The jobs constantly flow in effortlessly, since we choose our scope and range of work. We just sit back and wait for projects that we can either accept or deny. Our dashboard of opportunities is seldom empty, which keeps us busy!

Nachteile:

Sometimes I wish more of our contractors utilized the software, so our bids could be submitted and tracked automatically. Just a few extra steps to be sure it makes it onto the bid board and tracked through analytics. I believe with time, the software will gain more recognition within the industry. With this being said, we have also built new relations with contractors via Building Connected's RFP dashboard.

Possibly the best Bid Invitation Software available.

Kommentare: We wanted a bid invitation solution that our subcontractors liked, were familiar with, and we wanted a long term partner. So far the relationship with BC has been great. I wish the pricing was a little lower and more comparable to other softwares out there as that would allow me to not have to review other competitor products upon renewal.

Vorteile:

The user-friendly interface allows us to issue bid invitations in a matter of minutes.

Nachteile:

I dislike that you have to use the software to obtain quotes. I wish direct emails were possible without having to go through the web.

Love this program!

Kommentare: If your looking for Construction Software call these guys and take it for a test drive, you wont be sorry and your subcontractors will love it.

Vorteile:

Building Connected is the best software out there for me getting my bid invites and access to plans and specs. It so easy to use and everything you need a click away. Contractors that are using this software can send bid invites and access to the plans right to my account. I'm using their Opportunity Manager also, I just forward my bid invites from Contractors who are not using Building Connected to this program and it puts it in order by bid date automatically , much better than me trying to organize my outlook. Another thing about this software when you download plans its way faster than it competition.

Nachteile:

Once in awhile I will have to go in and manually put in the bid date on certain bid invites that I have forwarded to the Opportunity Manager.

Very User Friendly

Kommentare: It is user friendly. Easy to access the information and create specific lists/templates for the trades we are currently using or hoping to use on future projects.

Vorteile:

How easy it is to access the information I am looking for. Sharing information, such as files is easy as well as adding team members to a group or trades to a list.

Nachteile:

When a trades information changes - you have to rely on them to update their information.

ASG Review

Kommentare: WE have enjoyed using Building connected. We can attributed several Awarded projects directly related to subs we found through Building Connected.

Vorteile:

The online process is simple to negotiate. The number of subcontractors utilizing has improved our bidding.

Nachteile:

Remote areas lack subcontractor base to facilitate a single point solutions. We are working with known subs to get them setup.

Very Good Bid Invitation/Management System

Kommentare: Easy to manage the bid invitations and entire bid process.

Vorteile:

Getting bid invitations out to the sub market is extremely easy through this software. Also, sending messages/communication out is great.

Nachteile:

I don't really have any serious cons but after using this for over a couple years there are some items that could be improved to make it go from very good to great. (Make it easy to make changes to subcontractor contacts on the fly, providing more options for reports, better customer service platform, etc.)

Well Organized and easy to manage

Kommentare: We are able to keep all our Projects up for Bid together and it helps that all employees invited to BC can use, store and keep notes so others can see.

Vorteile:

Everything is put together for easy use. There is places to write company notes endless storage space for documents and Plans. Easy to delete and replace employees or outside vendors. Love that we can keep track of analytics. Bids can be sent straight from building connected.

Nachteile:

I don't like that jobs get doubled up, and you can't group 2 different groups together .

The Product BC benificary to my job

Kommentare: I am good on this, for sure.

Vorteile:

This software is great when I send information/invitation to bid/questions to all bidders in all trades. The BC have date recorded when the bidders review the bid package, bidders can send question/quote directly to here I will never lose. The most helpful part is this can help me to search for new bidders to bid specify trades that i am not familiar.

Nachteile:

not at this moment. When I see somehting in the future, I will note to you.

Great Product

Kommentare: Setup was easy. Customer support is prompt and helpful. We have improved communication with our subcontractors and suppliers and are able to reach a wider audience because of the software.

Vorteile:

- Easy to use, intuitive interface. - Scalable, great option for small or big teams

- too many extra features/sales pitches - originally was designed for GCs, has advanced in terms of subcontractor usability
