Great resource for device management.

Some of the features can be confusing to use.

Simple and safe patching solution. Glad I went with Automox

Kommentare: Support team is awesome and fast to respond. Customer care team is good on checking in and making sure you have what you need. Fairly informative on new features and downtimes are next to nothing with Automox.

Vorteile:

I like that the time the time to implement Automox and how easy it is to use was the biggest pro to Automox. Within 4 hours I had our entire server environment ready to patch and get caught up after our last patching solution had been pulled for over 4 months.

Nachteile:

Only hard part with Automox is writing worklets and understanding how it works and what permissions the agent has to the machine to make registry changes or deploying non standard software to the machine.

Best in class

Kommentare: Has been a joy from day 1! From the staff to the community users it has been an amazing experience.

Vorteile:

Easy to setup, deploy and use! Powerful worklets predefined and the ability to create your own is awesome! An amazing community and very helpful staff as well!

Nachteile:

I do honestly have none! Are the some visual things I personally would change, sue, but this is the sane for every product!

Almost but not quite there yet

Easy deployment and patching, able to do integrations

Nachteile:

not a good rmm tool and not quite there yet with its reporting functions

Automox is the real deal!

Kommentare: My experience with them has been great. They've made our patch management process a lot easier and they are very easy to work with.

Vorteile:

Once you get your policies and groups configured, Automox runs like a well oiled machine and your administrators can be very hands off.

Nachteile:

There isn't anything that I don't like. They're always making updates and are very forward thinking.

Automox - 2 years in

Kommentare: Overall we use it to track and push patches for Windows and 3rd party and we use it to push software. The software push capability is especially nice since we are able to push anything that can be done in Powershell to the client, even if they are remote.

Vorteile:

The Automox console is very easy to use and navigate. If you are a Powershell junkie you will love the software push capability through PS. It does a great job of keeping track of clients outside my network.

Nachteile:

There are many times when we have to reboot a machine just to get it to show as compatible again. It works well but sometimes we have to do the reboots on 30 machines to get them to all show up.

Save time and make your clients happy!

Kommentare: My experience has been nothing short of AWESOME!

Vorteile:

I love the amount of time we save keeping our systems updated and secure and confident that the latest security patches have been applied.

Nachteile:

Can't really think of any negatives. There are a few features missing that could help streamline patch nights but they are not critical pieces.

Amazing tool

Kommentare: I couldn't see us ever not using it. we have offices situated around the world and now with home users it gives us a central control platfrom to update, deploy and amend devices regardless of their locations.

Vorteile:

Being able to patch any machine and pretty much any app from anywhere, what isn't there to like as an IT admin. We previously used SCCM and that always depended on VPN or being on a network or when the schedule was, which meant our machines were always out of date. With Automox we don't have that issue. Also we can deploy apps and config to devices more efficiently than even SCCM or Autopilot.

Nachteile:

The remote access component could be a great integration, but we haven't found it reliable.

Game changer

Kommentare: Fantastic. Really, really great product. It does all you need it to and more.

Vorteile:

Easy to use, easy to deploy, patch everything on your laptops. Create worklets to do anything on your machines. No matter where they are or where you are.This application helped to reduce vulnerabilities on our estate from 10,000's to 100's. we were using SCCM but would never leave Automox now.Great support and really well priced.

Nachteile:

They have a new feature for remote access that was good, it uses VNC. only issue was you could only connect to one machine at a time. No IT person only connects to one machine at a time! so if they can change it to multiple machines then I might be interested in taking that option.

Finally a software deployment tool that just works

Kommentare: We had a very successful POC which showed how much time we would be saving using their platform.
Automox can automatically deploy patches endpoints need for OS or third-party applications. I'm also very excited about the features they will be adding to their platform.

Vorteile:

I love how responsive the product is for being agent-based. Multi-platform support makes it easy to use one product for your patching and software deployment needs. Automatic scanning which uncovers which patches are needed for installed applications/OS. Their live dashboard makes it easy to determine the level of compliance. Their built-in live chat makes it easy to connect with Support to resolve issues.

Nachteile:

Their current reporting makes for troubleshooting deployment issues difficult sometimes but their support is top-notch and I've been told this is being addressed as is on their roadmap.

Game Changer!

Kommentare: I found Automox at a conference and purchased about two weeks later. The team has been great to work with and stayed in touch, unlike so many others that disappear into the night after the PO is signed.

Vorteile:

It took me nearly 20 years in I.T. to finally find a patch/update solution that I liked and that actually worked. In most simple terms...Automox just works! Setting up Automox itself was trivial. Installing the client is one of the easiest clients. After that...check in periodically, approve patches, and rest easy...because for once you know your systems are actually patched. Plus you have reporting for management without any extra effort.

Nachteile:

It needs to grow more. Right now it still doesn't support 100% of our software, including some heavily used well-know titles. Support for other software needs to grow by at least 10x if it's going to have a chance to succeed. The software deployment piece also has some kinks to work out.

Simple, focused patch management.

Kommentare: Automox focuses on one thing primarily, patch management, and it does it very well. Many products in the space try to add many other features that we do not need at a much higher price.

Vorteile:

Very easy to setup and use. The price point is much better than other products in the space.

Nachteile:

There are no glaring features missing from Automox with regards to patch management.

Timely patching, and save time!

Vorteile:

It reduces the amount of manual work I have to do on users machines to ensure they are patched and up to date. I can easily identify when critical patches come in and inform users what's happening, creating that great user experience.

Nachteile:

The notifications have been slightly problematic for us as users do not know what is updating (on the basic patching licence). Office has sometimes just shut down in the middle of a user doing work. This could be addressed in the full version by creating custom policies for certain high-touch products/software packages. Reboot notifications could do with being more obvious to the user, who is highly likely to simply click it and not pay attention, though this is not direct failing on Automox's part. A small change in wording may help change the impact ("Install now" vs "Install and reboot")

Automox Review

Kommentare: Great product. Anticipate using it beyond its intended lifecycle. Made life a lot easier and a lot simpler.

Vorteile:

Ease of use. Easy to setup and deploy. Cost is effective. worked great during the beginning of the Pandemic when on-prem update services had major drawbacks.

Nachteile:

Integration with AV was tiring. Troubleshooting software deployment packages.

Great patching solution

Kommentare: Automox has been great in terms of support, billing, new features, etc.

Vorteile:

It is web-based and easy to use. Login, review or kick-off a patching cycle and that's that!

Nachteile:

Hmmm, that is a tough one. I think all patching software has problems getting all of the patching done so there still is some manual intervention, but a small percentage.

Great cloud based Patch Management solution for local and remote user devices.

Vorteile:

I run an IT department that has multiple US and International locations, patch and update management is always a chore across multiple OS platforms. AutoMox solves this issue for us and gives us great reporting for security, compliance and support needs. AutoMox has also helped us greatly with new MAC OS X deployments and software compatibility issues that require updates. Ease of use. Very easy to get up and running in minutes. I am very grateful for the stability and lack of bugs within the system.

Nachteile:

Lack of SSO, SAML and MFA adoption. With this application having the ability to touch all systems from your company that are added, a better security model for account access is required. A login password only does not cut it these days. 3rd party software list needs growth.

Automox is automatic

Vorteile:

The deployment and ease of use. The reporting features are excellent

Nachteile:

Nothing, it is so easy to use and deploy. It has taken a lot of leg work out of the mix.

Good product for patch management

Kommentare: We were looking for a software patching solution and this fit the bill perfectly.

Vorteile:

Easy setup and it makes the patching process easy.

Nachteile:

Nothing really was bad at all. It was fairly basic I guess if thats a con.

Awesome Product

Kommentare: I was in search of something cloud based to replace WSUS. Its worked really great so far

Good product, but a few features lacking for the price

Kommentare: Very good. The monthly and quarterly update webinars are very good, plus the product is simple to learn and use. Support team are very helpful as well.

Vorteile:

Ease of deployment, management console, visibility.

Nachteile:

lacking a few features for the price in comparison to one or two other comparable products

Great tool for Patch Management

Kommentare: I have been looking for a tool to help with patch management and Automox by far is the easiest to implement. We have a small IT staff and having Automox in our toolbox boosts our productivity. Thank you Automox!

Vorteile:

Easy setup, UI is a no brainer, lots of effective tools for patch management.

Nachteile:

It did not cover the smaller apps like Foxit, Winzip, etc.

Amazing Product

Kommentare: This software makes patching and deployment of software so easy. Before we were relying on GPOs and WSUS, which became difficult to manage with the sudden change to working remotely. With Automox, we can update remote workstations, deploy software, and scripts with no headaches. I'm also impressed at how fast it is. And it's saved us a lot of time.

Vorteile:

Great UI, easy setup, very fast deployment

Nachteile:

I do not have any complaints as of yet.

Safe bet for patch management

Kommentare: The ability to keep our endpoints security patches up to date saves us time and gives us peace of mind.

Vorteile:

-Straight forward UI -Easy deployment/enrollment -Easy scheduling -Lots of scripting potential

Nachteile:

-32 bit agent requiring 32 pit powershell scripting -Reporting capabilities could be more elaborate -No pending reboot notifications for user

Excellent product for maintaining software updates on all of your managed endpoints.

Vorteile:

I like that this platform allows you to easily see which systems are not in compliance and remedy them.

Nachteile:

The only feature I would like to see added is the ability to instantly initiate the updates installation on a specific endpoint, or either have the updates queued for the installation as soon as the endpoint becomes connected to Automox. For example, laptops that are not usually online during the scheduled update window.
