Finally a software deployment tool that just works

Kommentare: We had a very successful POC which showed how much time we would be saving using their platform.
Automox can automatically deploy patches endpoints need for OS or third-party applications. I'm also very excited about the features they will be adding to their platform.

Vorteile:

I love how responsive the product is for being agent-based. Multi-platform support makes it easy to use one product for your patching and software deployment needs. Automatic scanning which uncovers which patches are needed for installed applications/OS. Their live dashboard makes it easy to determine the level of compliance. Their built-in live chat makes it easy to connect with Support to resolve issues.

Nachteile:

Their current reporting makes for troubleshooting deployment issues difficult sometimes but their support is top-notch and I've been told this is being addressed as is on their roadmap.

Great software that far outpaces bigger competitors.

Kommentare: It has been a great piece of software that has been very helpful in patching and putting our systems miles ahead in overall security. The automated cycles and reporting are helpful and keep everything in line the way I want it to run.

Vorteile:

In depth patching with fast alerting and deployable polices.

Nachteile:

I really have no complaints with this software.

Did not work correctly.

Kommentare: Could not get this to work effectively even on just two windows servers, contacted support and got an initial response but nothing more. Looks nice and would be a good solution if it worked, it just seems unfinished and flaky. I suspect you need to enable a firewall rule for 3rd party updates to work ( suspect the same for Linux) .

Vorteile:

Looks nice, works fine with Linux ( as long as firewall is set up) fairly simple setup.

Nachteile:

Did not pick up that our 2008 test machine had not patched in 2 years. Did not show all the "Supported" 3rd party software. No Logs. Did not have any info on updates not applying. Policies did not seem to apply correctly. Still requires WSUS( or risk using online windows updates which kill bandwidth) No Linux Onsite Cache

Automox review - Shaked

Kommentare: It is a good patch management system. But it is a little bit lacking in terms of the license management, and end point management.

Vorteile:

It has a good patch management, very easy to manage

Nachteile:

The way you manage licenses is not the best. Patches fail a lot and you need to check it manually.

Automox is the real deal!

Kommentare: My experience with them has been great. They've made our patch management process a lot easier and they are very easy to work with.

Vorteile:

Once you get your policies and groups configured, Automox runs like a well oiled machine and your administrators can be very hands off.

Nachteile:

There isn't anything that I don't like. They're always making updates and are very forward thinking.

Amazing tool

Kommentare: I couldn't see us ever not using it. we have offices situated around the world and now with home users it gives us a central control platfrom to update, deploy and amend devices regardless of their locations.

Vorteile:

Being able to patch any machine and pretty much any app from anywhere, what isn't there to like as an IT admin. We previously used SCCM and that always depended on VPN or being on a network or when the schedule was, which meant our machines were always out of date. With Automox we don't have that issue. Also we can deploy apps and config to devices more efficiently than even SCCM or Autopilot.

Nachteile:

The remote access component could be a great integration, but we haven't found it reliable.

Automox for System updates and PowerShell Scrips just works

Kommentare: I've been using Automox for over 3 years, and for the most part, they have been a lifesaver. We use it to perform weekly software and Microsoft Windows updates, to push out new or updated versions of software, and to occasionaly run PowerShell scripts on machines. It works great when we use it like this, and Automox provides some great training (which I highly reccommend taking) to help you figure out the platform, give you some shortcuts, and assist with the reasons the platform behaves the way it does.

Vorteile:

Super easy to get initial set up completed. If you need additional ways to update or install software, or to make changes to a system, there are a ton of prewritten worklets to get you going.

Nachteile:

Automox doesn't work natively in a 64 bit environment, so you need to call the WOW6432Node to make scripts work.

Automox: Saves you a patching headache...or three

Kommentare: Overall, Automox has been a positive addition to our environment. It has made patching our Windows environment much more reliable. Not only this, but we can push out software and scripts to computers with a high speed. We can schedule a deployment or push it on demand within seconds or minutes.

Vorteile:

Automox is very easy to setup and work with. It is easy to set up groups, add devices to groups, and set up policies to patch your devices. Before Automox, I didn't have any experience with Patch Management software, but I was able to quickly jump into Automox and start creating policies to meet our needs. Automox's support is helpful and gets back to you very quickly. I've had to reach out to support a few times over the past year and they've been helpful. Also, they have a community that the developers and employees frequently monitor where you can ask questions and engage with other Automox users.

Nachteile:

Automox has some limitations. Unfortunately, some output is limited. For example, when a computer is in process of updating you won't always see the exact percentage or updates it is currently working on. This can cause some confusion and can make it harder to see if theres a certain update getting stuck. I also would love to see a way to stop any sent instructions to an endpoint from our end. If I send a script that seems to error out or glitch out during testing, there is a chance that the device's status may get stuck in the "Pending Update" status until the next day when Automox automatically flushes it out. In Summary, Some of Automox's output or status visibility could be improved. The ability to stop a scan or script from finishing would also be ideal if possible.

Automox is a must for your IT environment

Kommentare: I would say automox has been a very useful tool and puts a majority of key functions all in one place. I highly recommend this to people in IT.

Vorteile:

I like how easy it is to manage all of the computers we have in the office all in one place. It makes it easy to keep track of updates or software that needs to be pushed out for end users.

Nachteile:

The thing that bothers me most about automox is how long it can take for device info to sync in the portal. Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes for just 1 device.

Great patch management!

Kommentare: Its been great. It has helped us as a company yo keep our devices up to date.

Vorteile:

I like the granularity that comes with Automox. I can make policies for most of the things that I can think of.

Nachteile:

With apple silicon macbooks there seems to be a lot of compatibility errors.

Game changer

Kommentare: Fantastic. Really, really great product. It does all you need it to and more.

Vorteile:

Easy to use, easy to deploy, patch everything on your laptops. Create worklets to do anything on your machines. No matter where they are or where you are.This application helped to reduce vulnerabilities on our estate from 10,000's to 100's. we were using SCCM but would never leave Automox now.Great support and really well priced.

Nachteile:

They have a new feature for remote access that was good, it uses VNC. only issue was you could only connect to one machine at a time. No IT person only connects to one machine at a time! so if they can change it to multiple machines then I might be interested in taking that option.

Great RMM with a focus in automation

Kommentare: Automox has been a blessing to our company. It has allowed us to automate many things that we used to do manually before. It has saved us a lot of time and headaches. However, its remote control isn't great, and it lacks desktop and mobile apps.

Vorteile:

I like that Automox allows our company to automate updates, whether it's Windows updates, or third party app updates. It also allows us to install apps remotely. I also like its ease of use

Nachteile:

The remote control included with Automox doesn't work too well. It lacks desktop and mobile apps.

Kommentare: My overall experience with Automox is great there support is great to work with and very knowledgeable.

Worklets don't work so well I tried to uninstall and reinstall an application and had very little success rate

Kommentare: As an admin, I like Automox, but I prefer to have better reporting

The console is easy to use, the work let works as expected

The reporting is so bad, and the notification from Automox is only email; I would prefer it if there was integration with another system like Jira.

Sometimes it causes black screens on servers and fails to reboot them

Easy Patch and Policy Management

Kommentare: Automox is doing an effective job of keeping both physical hardware assigned to employees and remote servers updated and compliant with our security practices so that we seldom have to remediate these issues manually.

Vorteile:

Automox can be used to apply patches, custom policies, deploy code, etc. for Windows, MacOs, and Linux distributions with relative ease and has a library of premade scripts to get started quickly with. When done right, most policies are a set-and-forget experience, requiring only occasional logins to change or reapply to individual machines or entire groups.

Nachteile:

There are a lot of premade scripts to get started with that should be sufficient for getting your team off the ground, however since it is largely script-based, this does also require a significant understanding of all the operating systems in your environment and how to get things done in their respective console or terminal applications whenever changes or more advanced scripts are required.

Vorteile:

The ability to have policies for each group and the CVE reports.

Nachteile:

If the agent disconnects, sometimes it requires a manual restart or re installation.

Automox is great!

Kommentare: Automox is the perfect platform for us to monitor our devices and perform monthly patching.

Vorteile:

We use it for pushing out patches to our devices in bulk, as well as running worklets

Nachteile:

Automox is perfect for what we require it for.

Out of sight, out of mind

Kommentare: We went from having servers and workstations that may or may not be current with updates, to not having to worry about it any longer.

Vorteile:

Once Automox is set up, it is very easy to manage. All systems are kept current with little to no required actions by our IT staff. Adding new systems is as easy as installing a small client.

Nachteile:

Automox is very powerful, so there are some features that seem complicated to set up. I feel that once those features were set up, the comfortability level would go up making them seem less daunting.

Great product for Patch Management

Vorteile:

Patching of Windows and third party application is very easy with Automox. The notification, installation process is quite seamless.

Nachteile:

The remote control feature still needs improvement.

Automax is very helpful with patching

Kommentare: I'm very happy with Automax and have recommended this product to several of my peers.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of installation on each computer and that I can set it up to run scans and patches daily.

Nachteile:

I don't have any Cons thus far. They continue to update the website and product.

Get solution for patch management

Vorteile:

Easy of use, cost. It is easy to setup and work with.

Nachteile:

I have nothing negative to say. It has been a great product for us.

Game Changer!

Kommentare: I found Automox at a conference and purchased about two weeks later. The team has been great to work with and stayed in touch, unlike so many others that disappear into the night after the PO is signed.

Vorteile:

It took me nearly 20 years in I.T. to finally find a patch/update solution that I liked and that actually worked. In most simple terms...Automox just works! Setting up Automox itself was trivial. Installing the client is one of the easiest clients. After that...check in periodically, approve patches, and rest easy...because for once you know your systems are actually patched. Plus you have reporting for management without any extra effort.

Nachteile:

It needs to grow more. Right now it still doesn't support 100% of our software, including some heavily used well-know titles. Support for other software needs to grow by at least 10x if it's going to have a chance to succeed. The software deployment piece also has some kinks to work out.
