Vorteile:

Das leichte und benutzerfreundliche Interface!

Nachteile:

Bisher fehlt mir die Funktion Gruppen anzulegen, wer auf welche Dateien Rechte hat, eventuell exestiert diese Feature, aber bisher nicht gefunden.

Vorteile:

Mit Box tauschen wir Dateien unter Kollegen aus, das System ist sehr einfach zu bedienen, wir haben immer alle den aktuellen Stand der Daten

Nachteile:

ich habe keine Ahnung, wo die Daten letztendlich gespeichert werden

Die Administration ist nicht überall selbst erklärend

Effizientes Dokumenten-Management im Großkonzern

Kommentare: Box hat für mich den lokalen Dokumenten-Ordner auf meiner Festplatte gänzlich ersetzt.

Vorteile:

Ich nutze box inzwischen ausschließlich im web und schätze die Möglichkeit, Dateien direkt vom Browser aus in Microsoft Office Anwendungen zu öffnen und Änderungen direkt auf box zu speichern - ohne dass dazu eine Synchronisierung über einen Daemon bzw. Hintergrund-Software nötig wäre.

Nachteile:

Die Synchronisation mit dem Windows-Explorer via Box Sync hat bei mir gelegentlich zu Konflikten geführt - daher bin ich zur Nutzung von box im Browser übergegangen.

Box als Dateisharingplattform

Vorteile:

Box ist leicht von jedermann zu bedienen, daher war es sehr einfach im Unternehmen zu verteilen

Nachteile:

spezielle Einstellungen sind von Benutzern unter Umständen schwer zu finden

Vorteile:

einfache Speicherung von Inhalten aller Art

einfache Verwaltung und auf die Inhalte können von überall aus zugegeriffen werden

Box als Tool für Schulungen

Vorteile:

Mir gefällt die Möglichkeit, größere Datenmengen problemlos zu teilen.

Nachteile:

Die kostenlose Version ist recht begrenzt.

Nachteile:

I haven't experienced any problem with Box as it's does as it's expected to do.

Efficient alternative to Dropbox

Kommentare: We use this software daily at the company I work for to exchange images.

Vorteile:

It’s a good alternative to Dropbox. Easier sharing with team members and downloads.

Nachteile:

Takes a long time for the files to upload.

My favourite cloud storage for several years

Kommentare: I had a great experience with Box, kicking off around 2012 when I was given some extra storage with my HP TouchPad (remember that!?). While I can no longer use it on my main PC, it is still running on the family's Windows laptop.

Vorteile:

Having used all of the major cloud storage solutions, I found Box the easiest to use. Its syncing tool was - when I last used it - the best available, offering reliability and leaving me with the confidence to find work created on device A available to review on device B.

Nachteile:

Unfortunately, as my opinions about computing and software have moved towards an open source philosophy, I have found myself unable to use Box. I would be prepared to make an exception for Box, but it does not offer an official Linux app.

Security means BOX

Kommentare: It's a great cloud storage service, its safety is the most powerful weapon bout this service. There is no record that exists like the hack of documents spamming in BOX.

Vorteile:

I love to use BOX for my document's security. I have been using BOX for the last 5 years as my document management and file sharing.

Nachteile:

I like least about BOX is its offline file options. I don't use this.

Decent file storage and sharing

Kommentare: We use it to share files within and outside of the organization. It can be used for files and folders alike, which is very useful for us. I’m happy with the quality of this software, and hope others would adopt it too.

Vorteile:

Box has a very friendly UI that anyone can start using easily

Nachteile:

It’s not very common in workplaces, so I struggle to find teams and companies that I use it to communicate with

It has not as user friendly as GDrive. Could use a bit updating there.

Box - a review for those who are wishing to give this one a try

Kommentare: I have been using box for the last 6 months and its a daily use tool like SharePoint, you have data sheets to collaborate with team. So I use it. Efficiency is high as real time collaboration is possible and the data flow is smooth

Vorteile:

I like its embedded widget feature, helpful in getting content embedded in some other external applications like web pages, blogs etc

Nachteile:

The costing is more compared to other products in markets, also not many people are familiar enough with this product, so takes some time to learn.

Secure and User-Friendly, but Missing Built-in Editing

Kommentare: Overall, I found Box to be a reliable and secure cloud storage solution. I appreciated its user-friendly interface and strong security features. However, the lack of built-in editing tools was a bit of a drawback, requiring me to use external applications for document editing.

Vorteile:

I liked Box's ease of use and security features. It was easy to upload and share files, and I felt confident that my data was safe.

Nachteile:

I didn't like that Box didn't have built-in editing tools. I had to use other apps to edit my documents.

Box: Decent product, but with some flaws

I often have issues accessing my files on other devices (synching issues).

Very straightforward

Kommentare: I use Box Sync pretty much for two purposes, though perhaps they're not the target use cases the developers had in mind! 1) I use it to send files to myself between computers. I have a desktop and a laptop, and it's a convenient way to share large files between the two. For small files, I often use email, but that has size limits. With Box, I can just upload a file on my laptop, then immediately go to my Desktop and download it. Easy peasy! It's even more convenient than using a flash drive. 2) I use it for sharing collaborative files, i.e. PowerPoint presentations that I'm giving with multiple presenters. It's not perfect, but it's the best way that I've found for keeping large PPTs, with multiple presenters, in sync (when I want to use PowerPoint and not Google Slides). I coordinate with the other people so that only one of us is working at a time, and when the one person is done and their changes are uploaded, the next person can take a turn at making edits. PowerPoint does have "auto-sync" functionality but I've found that using this Box method is even better!

Vorteile:

The software is very straightforward to use. It's a simple interface. In its most basic form, it's just a place you can upload, download, and share files. If you are a (slightly) more advanced user, you can set up "Box Sync" so that a folder on your computer automatically syncs with Box. This is awesome to use as an automatic backup!

Nachteile:

There's not much to dislike, but if I had to nitpick, it takes too menu menus and clicks to do things like (1) delete a file, (2) share a file, and (3) sync a file/folder. These are pretty much the only three things that I ever want to do, but they are hidden behind like 3-4 clicks and menu options.

Excellent enterprise class cloud storage and workflow integration software

Kommentare: Mostly it is a very stable and secure cloud backup tool, great for workflow and content management in groups.

Vorteile:

I used it and introduced it to my research group when I was in grad school few years back. We also ended up getting a larger size account to fit our needs. University purchasing handled the financial side of it, but I'd like to think our recommendations for enteprise scale buys were taken heed. BoxSync when used in conjuction with a box account does a great job of doing automatic backups on the cloud, that also help in access from different computers/collaborators simple. It can handle large file sizes (5 GB file upload limit) for most work, has excellent integration with word processing for online document editing. Note, I have not tried very large single file uploads yet, the largest has been a movie file of 750 MB. Recently they added notes feature which is useful for commenting while sharing files. Mostly it is a very stable and secure cloud backup tool, great for workflow and content management in groups.

Nachteile:

I dont know if they ever had a referral program unlike dropbox. No other major drawbacks as a user. By default, it sends a lot of emails whenever anything is changed in the folders. turning off that feature took a while to figure out for me.

Excellent document storage & management

Kommentare: Box empowered us to build a robust document repository that makes it simple for anyone on our team to find the files they're looking for.

Vorteile:

Box has made our lives a million times easier by empowering us to store, organize, and share files of all types. We save our company assets, photos, Microsoft Word/Powerpoint/Excel docs, PDFs, etc in various folders. We love the ability to tag files so we can find them easily. The document sharing features are excellent. I especially like the preview feature (it's much better than Google Drive's preview option).

Nachteile:

My biggest complaint about Box isn't Box's fault – it's my company's settings. My company chose to have shared file links expire after about 30 days, which is a pain in the neck sometimes.

Reliable System

Kommentare: My experience has been always good with this software despite they reduced considerably the space I used to have when changed their prices strategy.

Vorteile:

The user interface is very user friendly. The price is very fair compared with some competitors. It does provide several features to host and manage documents, other than just hosting them in the cloud.

Nachteile:

It fell behind some alternatives such as OneDrive or GoogleDrive which have much more integrations and document capabilities.

Box is serving as our One Source for all Collaborative Work

Kommentare: Box has been a positive and timely addition to the tools we use. We moved to Box just prior to the pandemic and it has become a staple for our now hybrid workteams.

Vorteile:

Documents are easily stored and shared through our disbursed team. Having Box eliminates the need to keep local copies of important documents and allow for better control of versions. We have moved all of our Work Instructions and forms to Box for use within our Finance Team and for use by all company members. You can restrict access to ensure only those who need access can have it.

Nachteile:

One thing it took us a while to get the hang of, is locking a shared document while we are updating it. If you don't lock the document, multiple people can access it and update it at the same time. Only upon saving would the team members learn that that we now have multiple copies of the same document and that none of them would be accurate.

A Cost-effective, Robust Cloud Service

Kommentare: Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the service & I'll keep on using it given how it's plays a crucial role in my productivity.

Vorteile:

Box simplifies the process of backing up, managing & editing my files on the go from my office or home computer or from my phone. It's fast, reliable & offers a plethora of features that are presented upfront on the software's user interface, rather than being hidden inside layers of sub-menus. I'm a big fan of scheduled backups where after-work hours, Box can simply start backing up specific directories on my PC instead of manually doing the labour of transferring data locally to a slow, external drive. In short, convenience is what Box brings to the table.

Nachteile:

As of the last mobile update, I'm noticing that the upload rate has dropped a little bit. I have a decent 5G router with a stable & speedy connection, so I don't really think my internet is the culprit here. Desktop & web versions work fine though.

The best solution for content management

Kommentare: Overall I am very happy with the Box. I work with files for several hours every day and doing this with Box gives me a lot of satisfaction from smooth tasks. I would not replace Box with any other competitive tool such as OneDrive.

Vorteile:

I really like that box controls versions of stored documents and stores all previous revisions. This makes it much easier to work with documents that require frequent updates by many people. The tool is very intuitive and easy to use. Controlling and granting access is not difficult. The adaptation of Box in my department was practically one day and did not cause any problems.

Nachteile:

Box seems to be complete and it's hard to find any shortcomings, but I had a hard time integrating Box with GitHub and setting up file sharing. This required providing many settings that were not entirely clear and required clarification. Later, the process of approving these settings by Box took a while and I think this is the field for improvement.

Great for Team Accessibility

Kommentare: Box is user-friendly which has allowed my team and I to overcome problems of needless time consumption. Research projects take up a lot of time because of the amount of data that needs to be uploaded and analyzed. However, Box has enabled my team to effectively work together and independently while maintaining the ethical guidelines of research.

Vorteile:

As a tutor and a researcher, I love being able to upload videos of lesson plans and lectures so that my team and those I am working for are able to look back on what I said. Another thing I love about Box is how you can share multiple files with anyone you want and you are able to view who has downloaded something to maintain privacy and confidentiality. Box is especially useful for big groups of people. Everything is extremely accessible and easy to learn how to use. I recommend Box to my colleagues in research who want a safe way of maintaining confidentiality in research projects.

Nachteile:

I do not have any problems with Box so far and I have been using Box for most of my college experience. I have used it for research, tutoring, and collaboration projects.
