Effizientes Dokumenten-Management im Großkonzern

Kommentare: Box hat für mich den lokalen Dokumenten-Ordner auf meiner Festplatte gänzlich ersetzt.

Vorteile:

Ich nutze box inzwischen ausschließlich im web und schätze die Möglichkeit, Dateien direkt vom Browser aus in Microsoft Office Anwendungen zu öffnen und Änderungen direkt auf box zu speichern - ohne dass dazu eine Synchronisierung über einen Daemon bzw. Hintergrund-Software nötig wäre.

Nachteile:

Die Synchronisation mit dem Windows-Explorer via Box Sync hat bei mir gelegentlich zu Konflikten geführt - daher bin ich zur Nutzung von box im Browser übergegangen.

H&S Review of Box

Vorteile:

Box makes it easy to access on both a Mac and PC. The user interface is nice and I probably use the Box Drive on my desktop more often than the web version, which has so many features.

Nachteile:

I would love to see faster syncing between Mac and PC. I use Box drive on my Mac and when I go to the PC to see the file, it takes forever and sometimes I have to logout of Box to see the file appear.

Data Room dependent on Box

Kommentare: Overall, myself and our team is satisfied with Box. It's easy to use, incredibly convenient, fairly priced, and reliable. We've never once had a moment of not being able to access what we needed and it always "just works" which is really all you want & need for file management software.

Vorteile:

What we like most about Box here is how easy it is to use and manage. Any of the relevant stakeholders from our team can quickly jump in, find what they're looking for, and then easily share out a document. They also make it incredibly easy to make quick changes to documents right inside of Box, without having to download a document, edit it, then re-upload it. The speed and ease of use keep us running smooth when it comes to storing agreements, fundraising documents, or anything else in between.

Nachteile:

We've had a few moments where customer service could've been a bit better / faster. As it relates to our Box account, we are dealing with important documents so we want to make sure every time we need support we get quick and helpful answers.

Nachteile:

We had requested flexibility on our licenses since our staff increases and reduces between 90-100 people. Our admin accidentally added licenses before removing some leavers resulting in an accidental increase in the licenses. Box would not reduce the number by 3 licenses even though this was a clear mistake. They tried to make us pay for the remaining period of our 3 year contract. This resulted in a waste of several thousand dollars when we were in cost reduction mode. Canceling. There are many equivalent services with better customer support and lower pricing.

The best solution for content management

Kommentare: Overall I am very happy with the Box. I work with files for several hours every day and doing this with Box gives me a lot of satisfaction from smooth tasks. I would not replace Box with any other competitive tool such as OneDrive.

Vorteile:

I really like that box controls versions of stored documents and stores all previous revisions. This makes it much easier to work with documents that require frequent updates by many people. The tool is very intuitive and easy to use. Controlling and granting access is not difficult. The adaptation of Box in my department was practically one day and did not cause any problems.

Nachteile:

Box seems to be complete and it's hard to find any shortcomings, but I had a hard time integrating Box with GitHub and setting up file sharing. This required providing many settings that were not entirely clear and required clarification. Later, the process of approving these settings by Box took a while and I think this is the field for improvement.

Firstly, this is Box.com cloud storage and sync, you can tell by the logo. One or two of the other reviews appear to be for a totally different company.I have the Free version of Box installed on my laptop plus the Android app, 10 GB and as soon as I added the phone app they gave me another 5 GB.I use them for transferring files between the two. No more messing about connecting them with a cable. Sync is fast and flawless.On pc it opens in Windows Explorer where I can happily create folders, copy and paste files, move or delete items, and so on. I think it is superior to Drive, with the bonus that it's not Google!

Nachteile:

Deceptive Sales Practices, but i really to try just keep doing with more option in this case.

File sharing

Kommentare: really easy to use and allows a secure was to share files. especially like the simplistic way that it allows the sharing to be set up. Also no confusing `click this` `move that` to share files

Vorteile:

Fairly straight forward when it comes to sharing files internationally as well as locally, you can send the link or directly link the file in an email

Nachteile:

its a very simple but bland layout but does mirror some other apps that most people are familiar with.

Great tool for file management & sharing but littlebit pricey!

Kommentare: Overall, I would say Box is still the best file sharing platform. Unlimited file storage capabilities is what make me use Box till date. However, pricing could be little less for individuals.

Pricing after the free trial is something that could bother for individuals like me who require more space to share large files online.

Can't imagine running our business without Box

Kommentare: We used Dropbox for a number of years, and we found it very "fragile". Without good access to different levels of security for our team, we would often find files deleted or overwritten by inexperienced employees. Once, an employee using Dropbox's desktop app accidentally deleted our entire list of files and Dropbox had to restore (taking several days). That was the straw that broke the camel's back, so we switched to Box and haven't looked back. It's secure, solid, excellent uptime, and does everything we need and more. Our company stores mission-critical contracts, source files, and other material, and it's locked down only to the appropriate users. We have nearly 7 TB of files from our company's history stored with Box and I sleep great at night knowing they're safe and secure.

The access levels for intra-company sharing are very granular, allowing us the ability to protect privileged information,

Nachteile:

It's hard to be critical of this tool. Some of the features we never use (notes, for example) seem a little clunky, but I understand they're improving. Those are all secondary, however. The main product itself is unbeatable.

Excellent enterprise class cloud storage and workflow integration software

Kommentare: Mostly it is a very stable and secure cloud backup tool, great for workflow and content management in groups.

Vorteile:

I used it and introduced it to my research group when I was in grad school few years back. We also ended up getting a larger size account to fit our needs. University purchasing handled the financial side of it, but I'd like to think our recommendations for enteprise scale buys were taken heed. BoxSync when used in conjuction with a box account does a great job of doing automatic backups on the cloud, that also help in access from different computers/collaborators simple. It can handle large file sizes (5 GB file upload limit) for most work, has excellent integration with word processing for online document editing. Note, I have not tried very large single file uploads yet, the largest has been a movie file of 750 MB. Recently they added notes feature which is useful for commenting while sharing files. Mostly it is a very stable and secure cloud backup tool, great for workflow and content management in groups.

Nachteile:

I dont know if they ever had a referral program unlike dropbox. No other major drawbacks as a user. By default, it sends a lot of emails whenever anything is changed in the folders. turning off that feature took a while to figure out for me.

Probably my most used file management software

Kommentare: I've used this while working with a team at a startup and in graduate school now. Highly recommend for both collaboration as well as backing up document and cloud storage.

Vorteile:

Box Sync is the first thing I'd recommend if you don't have that already. It sets up a folder on your local computer that you can treat as a folder just like 'Documents' and it syncs automatically when you're connected to wifi. I also like using Box Sync with Mendeley (reference manager) because it syncs all the docs in Mendeley into a single location on Box, which is great. I can make notes in the PDFs and it syncs into Mendeley so that I can see my comments there as well. The version control has saved my many times because every time you create a new version or save a document, it holds onto old versions. This way if you accidentally overwrite something, you can usually go back into Box online, look at previous versions, and restore the right one. It's also easy to use and isn't finicky like many software.

Nachteile:

Unlike most of my software reviews, I don't have much to say for cons.

Smooth and feature-rich

Kommentare: I use Box to backup and sync shared projects. I appreciate the fact that my contacts can set up a fully-functional Box account for free, something that makes it considerably easier to bring them on board. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, so you get started in a few minutes and then are good to go. The web interface helps you learn about collaboration features that make your work more productive.

Vorteile:

While most of the time I just use Box as a way to backup and share files on the cloud, I have occasionally used its collaboration features and I find them amazing. Team members can exchange messages, views, links regarding a document that is being drafted. Some of these functions were gradually added to productivity softwares like Office, but you are bound to use OneDrive to have them (and I don't want to be captured by a specific cloud storage provider).

Nachteile:

The desktop client has had occasional crashes from time to time, but I am unsure whether this may depend on my side (e.g., Windows updates that need some days to be "digested" by the Box software). Overall, I find this product stable and reliable. In my limited experience, I cannot think of any major feature that is not already included.

Box is the perfect all-round solution for all file management needs

Kommentare: I initially struggled to get used to their folder structures and access controls and preferred to assimilate and integrate them into the existing product I was already using. But after insistence from the team, I was forced to learn and adapt to Box. After a few days however, I started to get the hang of things and ended up using it just as much as I did my original product. I also find it more suited for smaller project teams than the alternative I was already used to.

Vorteile:

Real time file syncing across all linked devices and accounts is truly amazing. It makes team collaboration in these times of remote working extremely efficient. And we no longer have to keep transferring documents to and fro as email attachments, which is not as secure. The comprehensive audit trail records also makes backtracking and management of unauthorized access and activity very simple.

Nachteile:

Setting different access privileges for individual team members with access to shared folders can be a bit confusing. The process could be made a lot simpler with a tabular entries with individual columns dedicated to each access level.

Box is serving as our One Source for all Collaborative Work

Kommentare: Box has been a positive and timely addition to the tools we use. We moved to Box just prior to the pandemic and it has become a staple for our now hybrid workteams.

Vorteile:

Documents are easily stored and shared through our disbursed team. Having Box eliminates the need to keep local copies of important documents and allow for better control of versions. We have moved all of our Work Instructions and forms to Box for use within our Finance Team and for use by all company members. You can restrict access to ensure only those who need access can have it.

Nachteile:

One thing it took us a while to get the hang of, is locking a shared document while we are updating it. If you don't lock the document, multiple people can access it and update it at the same time. Only upon saving would the team members learn that that we now have multiple copies of the same document and that none of them would be accurate.

Excellent document storage & management

Vorteile:

Box has made our lives a million times easier by empowering us to store, organize, and share files of all types. We save our company assets, photos, Microsoft Word/Powerpoint/Excel docs, PDFs, etc in various folders. We love the ability to tag files so we can find them easily. The document sharing features are excellent. I especially like the preview feature (it's much better than Google Drive's preview option).

Nachteile:

My biggest complaint about Box isn't Box's fault – it's my company's settings. My company chose to have shared file links expire after about 30 days, which is a pain in the neck sometimes.

My Life Saver

Vorteile:

Box is honestly one of the greatest organizational tools out there. I use Box several times a day for all of my documents. Box has all major servers (Word, Excel, Notes, ect.) and you can upload anything to it! It also updates with real time and allows several viewers/editors at a time. This has been a MUST during executive meetings. We can also upload any music, video or picture files to share, which is essential for our industry. The ability to make several folders and organize data well is the key to using Box. I have almost transitioned out of using Google Docs completely.

Nachteile:

Honestly, the only issue I have with box is sometimes there are loading issues when working on a file with the desktop. Also I can't find a way to delete old files that have been shared with another person that I don't want anymore.
