The Ultimate Solution for Data Management and Protection

Vorteile:

Instant recovery of VMs using the direct mount feature of Rubrik. Ability to archive your backups to cloud storage. Ease of use

Nachteile:

Pricing and complex licensing options and naming of the features. Limited integration options with opensource virtualization solutions like Proxmox/KVM etc.

Fantastic solution and getting better and better

Kommentare: Overall a great experience, a world of difference from old backup and DR solutions

Vorteile:

Rubrik has changed our whole approach to backup and DR, has simplified and we no longer wait for backups to finish, knowing everything is secure and immutable is a great weight off our minds

Nachteile:

cost, can be pricey to get system configured for full DR solution support can be slow, we seem to get west coast USA support if we log tickets from the UK, takes a day to then get assistance

I am patiently awaiting the release of 4.1 which should bring massive improvements .

Kommentare: We haven't progressed far enough with the product to see value to our overall business objectives.

Vorteile:

Rubrik is used to protect 1,000+ objects in my environment with 90%+ being VMware virtual machines. It is being used across the whole organization, globally, with three clusters existing to support our global initiatives. It provides backup protection for my objects and also provides a way to migrate certain data profiles into the cloud. Searchable Content - search for file across datasets allows for quick restores.

Nachteile:

I am patiently awaiting the release of 4.1 which should bring massive improvements to the functionality of the system as well as add additional features missing from the product. I feel Rubrik is well suited for customers that want to run high amount of snapshots per day and wish for a lower RPO granularity for restore. It is less appropriate for perhaps customers that want to run all their backups in one evening because of how jobs are queued and spread across the backup window. Missing functionality - allow for more granular intervals across different time segments.

Fantastic data protection product

Kommentare: I'm using Rubrik for 8 years and I saw the evolution and the capabilities growing over the time. They are very innovative

Vorteile:

Rubrik is bringing simplicity where usually complexity is the rule. It helps to secure your data, your environment and can detect data loss and damages before they are actually reported

Nachteile:

I don't dislike anything about Rubrik, may be a bit too early to announce new feature before having them GA

I trusted them with our data and never regretted it.

Kommentare: Rubrik is the product I recommend to any business looking for backing up environments, especially virtual ones and databases. Have been using them for 6 years and have never regretted choosing them. The proof was when we survived a cyber attack thanks in large part to their recoverability and support during the experience.

Vorteile:

The web management portal is fast, api-based from the start, and top notch customer service and account teams. They have recovered all systems for me in the past and work quickly to resolve any issues. Non-stop updates for the product to add features and fix bugs.

Nachteile:

The reporting and filtering continues to need improvement though they have been adding features along the way. The AWS-hosted clusters are not as stable as the hosted hardware clusters but never any data loss in either case.

Kommentare: Overall everything works as described. It needs proper Postgresql support and better backwards compatability for legacy systems and the development is far too cloud focused for me. I want local access to the system and to be able to manage in the datacenter.

Vorteile:

The simplicity and how things just work. Rubrik support is also excellent unless you need support with Envoys.

Nachteile:

Being forced to move from on-prem management to cloud

Daily management was very easy and the user interface is easy to learn.

Some of the initial hardware setup was a little confusing but we were able to figure it out

Reporting and sorting in the reports need improving. Can't sort by most of the columns.

Great product that makes data backup and recovery easy

Kommentare: The experience with Rubrik has been very positive. It has taken the job of data backup and recovery and enhanced it to secure the data with the many features that Rubrik continue to add with data security features with updates. Having the single gui to manage multiple sites make managing the backup and dat recoveries painless.

Vorteile:

It is very easy to setup backups and easy for anyone on the IT team to do backups

Nachteile:

Nothing I can think of at the moment. Rubrik keeps adding features that are great.

One of the Best Purchases I've Ever Made

Kommentare: There was one time that a fellow admin permanently deleted some backups without receiving confirmation on if they were still needed. It turned out that they were still needed and that the backups would be unrecoverable. There were multiple prompts to confirm this action, so we should not have expected it to be recoverable. However, the fantastic support team at Rubrik said "We can't make any promises, because the data should be deleted already. However, we're going to have our engineers use this as an educational experiment." While they were not able to recover all of the data, as it had been overwritten, they were able to piece together enough for us to get the most critical files. I have never seen a support team go this above and beyond the reasonable call of duty.

Vorteile:

The Rubrik appliance is reliable, has a robust feature set, their support team is world-class (seriously the best in the game), and updates add awesome new features far more often than new bugs.

Nachteile:

It can be a little pricey for small to mid size businesses, but It's well worth that cost. Other than that I have zero complaints.

Backups made easy

Kommentare: Easy to install. Support is excellent. The product has saved us a few times with production servers going down. Instant recover is great.

Vorteile:

Setup was a breeze. Easy to create SLAs depending on how many snapshots you want of each vm. Migration to either azure or aws is also handy. Customer support is excellent.

Nachteile:

No cons at this point in time as we've had no issues whatsoever with the product.

Rubrik is a standout data protection/security platform.

Kommentare: Our experience with Rubrik has been very positive. The installation and migration to the solution went much more smoothly than with previous products. The customer and technical support have been first class, with most issues being resolved very quickly.

Vorteile:

Rubrik just works right out of the box without any customization. The solution performed beyond expectation for the workloads we migrated from a competing solution that was not able to handle them.

Nachteile:

We have had some performance and functionality issues after a recent version upgrade.

Rubrik is a security company that performs backups.

Vorteile:

I love how the vision is set on security. In an age where ransomware is on everyones mind, we have to stay vigilant and maintain high standards in who we deal with. Rubrik is very concerned with security and pushes us to be better.

Nachteile:

It is not inexpensive to do something well. This is the case with Rubrik as well. If you use the features that you pay for, it is worth it. If you do not use the features that you pay for, it is likely going to feel more expensive.

Rubrik is a great way to go if you want quality backups

Vorteile:

The ease of use and confidence in our backups has allowed us to allocate our time to other projects. Compared to other tools that we have used in the past, Rubrik is miles ahead in this space.

Nachteile:

The migration to the Rubrik Security Cloud has been a little tedious and some items are not fully implemented as they were in the local CDM. Once these are ironed out, we will be back to fully satisfied with the product.

One of the best around!

Kommentare: Moved to Rubrik from Avamar and it's miles better. APIs, software, speed, not having to have accelerators or proxies. Have had a few issues with figuring out a backup or new feature but one here and there is nothing compared to before. Support it useful and usually knows what to do but sometimes it does take a few tries.

Vorteile:

Speed. Backups are very quick, restores (especially instant ones) are very very quick.

Nachteile:

Sometimes figuring out why a backup failed requires you to open a support ticket, the errors aren't super useful or help and a lot of times it's a quick fix from them but a more descriptive error message would point to the same thing.

It's not just backup

Vorteile:

The GUI is super friendly and easy to use. Setting up SLA is such a breeze and so is managing the backups and restoring.

Nachteile:

It can be costly if you want additional security features.

Vorteile:

I love that everything is in one interface, the ability to create multiple SLAs is a massive win for my company. The additional protections that Rubrik allows from a security side is amazing.

Nachteile:

The knowledge articles some of the time are not the best, so you have to reach out to support to get further.

Modern Backup Solution with Enterprise features

Vorteile:

Hardware, Software, Support what not everything that Rubrik provides are very helpful for everyone.

Nachteile:

Require improvements in the Reporting. Sometimes we are unable to find the required feature.

Rubrik is worth the investment.

Vorteile:

The backup and recovery options have always exceeded our basic expectations. We've come to depend on them, and thus are now able to rule out most other options which don't meet our new standards.

Nachteile:

The move to their cloud-based services has at times been challenging. I can't say that they have always been as diligent as they needed before rolling out new features or changes. However, they have always been helpful in working through all issues.

Great product, great people, and quick support.

Kommentare: Havent had any negative experiences with it. When needed help with support, they are quick to respond. They help with the upgrade process as needed and are always friendly.

Vorteile:

Easy to setup and maintain. Able to push to AWS easily as needed. Havent had to use it yet, but the option to run server off the brick if something happens and you need to fix it.

Nachteile:

Little pricey but its worth it. The tunnel closure timeline is too short sometimes it feels like.
