Great choice for an affordable price.

Kommentare: Our overall experience has been 9 out of 10. We are very happy with our move from Avimark (big, costly, server-based) to web-based Neo. Once they delivered boarding, we didn't have to have any other applications to manage our hospital. I do wish that other third party application providers were integrating more things with Neo. But I guess that will come as the client base grows.

Vorteile:

The ease of use for our team was the most important. There isn't anything that isn't covered in the "HELP ME" section. You can read the instructions, or you can allow the system to walk you through doing the task. It's very easy to learn and with regular updates the system continues to get better and better. Also, you can't say enough about support. I have been in IT for years. This is the best support team I've ever worked with online. They are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond.

Nachteile:

I'd like to see it be a bit more flexible for the client. There are some things I think should be moved to company settings. I don't like that it doesn't handle tax exempt clients, i.e. Rescues and Non-Profits. The reporting could be better, but I understand they are working on reporting now.

Kommentare: Neo has so many tools that I'm still discovering, such as appointment type breakdowns to see where/how your revenue is generated, so one can then target those areas or emphasize others moving forward. Many other features and tools available.

Vorteile:

For starters, the developers of this software continually seek, AND RESPOND, to user input, creating a continually adapting product that never goes out of date. 'Cloud-based' has rocked our world, allowing accessibility from any device with internet connectivity. So convenient.

Nachteile:

Integration with old software (Intravet)was successful for the most part...all the info is there, just formatted differently. I'd expect this to be an issue with integration from any software, however.

Needs work

Kommentare: While I am happy there have been improvements, I feel like we were misled about the capabilities of Neo and real concerns have been brushed off. Accounting has been a nightmare, and we spend a lot of time having to print and fax or individually download several parts of a record to e-mail to regular veterinarians which defeats the point of being paper light, nor is it a time savings.

Vorteile:

The cloud based software is user friendly and convenient. Buttons are easily found, and software has a very up to date appearance. Integrates well with Smartflow and Vet Cove. Easy to update inventory. Integrated credit card processing at reasonable rates. Can easily e-mail consultations, receipts and forms to owners.

Nachteile:

Every part of the accounting needs work. It's impossible to accurately track A/R as payments are applied back to invoice dates and not the day they are actually paid. Financial tab is confusing as invoices are automatically generated for prepayments and not just a receipt. Records can not be e-mailed directly to veterinarians, and third party access does not allow them to access Smartflow sheets. Can have glitches

It has been very easy to train new staff on this program and I like that fact of being able to suggest new ideas in improving the software. I feel like the users voices are heard.

Just that I wish that it would intergrate with more products, but I am sure that will change since it is a newer software.

Kommentare: The time involved from checking clients in to check out is almost double what we had with an older outdated system. Hard to believe this is "the future". All of the staff are frustrated after having this system 9 months. They are begging me (management) to return to our outdated system.

poor estimate capabilities updates interfere with current processes, forms, etc. multiple windows to click through (lost time/efficiency) weak customer service (always say they are considering updating "whatever issue you have"

It is constantly improving

Kommentare: We are small one doctor practice and the previous software we were using had a lot of features that we just weren't using and it was expensive. Neo has everything we need and it's very user friendly.

Vorteile:

Neo is very user friendly, easy to set up and the support is awesome.

Nachteile:

We wish it integrated with Covetrus. We are a mobile clinic and don't carry a lot of product on board. Our clients primarily order through our online pharmacy. It would be nice to have their purchase history show up in their record in Neo.

Vorteile:

The office uses IDEXX for both reference and in-house labs, so the integration with Neo is fantastic. We also signed up for WebPacs so our imaging would be integrated. The PMS is very user friendly.

Nachteile:

We would love to see a minimum dispense fee comparable Cornerstone's minimum dispense fee functionality.

Needs work on the administrative side

Kommentare: It has been a learning curve. As a doctor I like it but my office manager is not so happy.

Vorteile:

I like seeing the blood work in the record. I like using the templates for filling out our exams. The doctor side of things are nice and easy.

Nachteile:

Most of the cons are on administrative side. The way Deputy and Neo integrate is not good. Printing invoices , calculating the interest for clients who are invoiced are not available. This is simple accounting and should be added easily. The client information is not visible from patient view. If you want the client phone number or another patient you have to click back to the client. You can't tell what is unposted or unfinished. If you get a prescription up for client the receptionist can't tell if the client got the prescription and didn't pay or if it is up and ready in the drawer When clients respond to our emails we send from Neo it goes to some email that is not our account. There no integrations with online store, Trupanion, mailing vaccine postcards, no surveys. Neo needs a lot of work on the hospital administration and marketing side.

Vorteile:

Because we are a teaching facility, we wanted a system our students could access easily on campus and off, yet still have access to only certain portions of the system. The seamless flow both ways between Neo and the in house lab equipment was even better than anticipated. Very user friendly.

Nachteile:

It would be nice if some documents were editable after a student completes them since they are learning still how to properly complete medical records. For instance, if they forget to complete an item on the anesthesia monitoring form it must be completely restarted. At the same time, not having an editable document is what is best in the real world.

Neo provides a great user-friendly platform. We have been using it since October of 2016.

Vorteile:

Since Neo is a cloud based program, it is constantly being updated by the development team. Support is just a live chat away, and if Neo doesn't currently offer the feature you are looking for they will put in an enhancement request to try and put it in a future update. The text message functionality is great, and such an easy way to communicate with clients. As the person who was in charge of implementation and customization, I can say that initial setup was a breeze and we had very little issues. If using IDEXX Laboratory Services, the integration is incredible and works great. I would never even think to go back to a software where lab requisitions had to be done manually. Being a cloud based system, everything is backed up all the time. There have been cases where I have accidentally deleted things, and the development team has been able to restore it for me which was great.

Nachteile:

While Neo is constantly updated, there are still major features that the support team still hasn't added. The support team is often not knowledgable about a question asked, and if the question is asked to multiple support staff members often different answers are obtained. Being a cloud based system, if the "cloud servers" have an issue or go offline, you will not be able to access Neo. This is happened a handful of times since we have had Neo. Reporting can be confusing, and it seems support staff doesn't know which reports to use when. I also own two different practices, and while on the outside it looks like Neo has multi-branch functionality, it doesn't and we have to use two different accounts. The automated reminder system does not have the ability to check for appointments that are already scheduled, so we constantly have clients telling us there appointments are already scheduled. And there is no automated appointment reminder program, it must be done manually. Other than those thinsg we actually really like Neo, and switching from an old version of Intravet was a breath of fresh air.

NEO has been amazing for our clinic, fantastic support, they listen to their clients for updates!

Kommentare: Great online support, fantastic cost without large initial investment of 16-20K like other software. Web based, no need for databse backups, etc. NEO team is making beneficial updates based on users input. No large learning curve for staff. The integration with IDEXX lab equipment is spectacular and helpful in cutting down time. Results gro straight into patient history.

Vorteile:

Web based which means no backups necessary in clinic, great support, ease of use, fantastic price without a large investment, training staff is not a large learning curve. The developers listen to their clients and make timely updates to software without having to download and install, etc. Great thing is that when the power went down for an hour at our clinic, we were able to use our cell phones to acess NEO and still get client information and chek them out via PayPal instead of our usual service. Our old system meant you had to revert to paper and be out of luck with checking anybody out. You can quickly review Prescription history withour hunting through months and years of records. Fantastic administrative tools for accounting purposes and reports to quicky your growing. It will take 10 years of monthly pay,ents to pay what would have been a 19,000-20,000 investment in Management software with other companies. If I don't like it in a few years, I have not lost a huge initial invesment.I highly recommend it to clinics that don't want to spend a lot of overhead on software, want great support, and good clinic management software.

Nachteile:

If you ever have the internet go down in clinic, you can't use software... unless you have cell phones to access the mobile version

Kommentare: Overall, Neo has been a pleasure to work with. Training new employees is simpler and streamlined, they are receptive to new suggestions, and customer support has generally been prompt and helpful.

Vorteile:

Neo was easy to implement, their conversion team was thorough and helpful. I also love that there is no down time for updates, as the system is cloud based-this also eliminates the need for expensive servers and their replacement.

Nachteile:

We a are a referral dependent, specialty practice, and the software lacks some features that more specialized systems have provided in the past

Kommentare: Appointments are easy to book and cancel, notes are easy to enter, alerts are easy to add in, I love Neo! Very simple software.

Vorteile:

I really enjoy how simple and user friendly Neo is. It is very easy to use & doesn't take new employees very long to learn how to use it.

Nachteile:

Medical records, notes and lab work could be combined in a more efficient way. When printing/saving a patients record (ex. sending records to another facility) the notes, charges and lab work are jumbled/only sorted by date and not very easy to sort or read through.

We love Neo!

Kommentare: We have been using IDEXX Neo for about two and a half years and are overall very pleased with the product. The transition from our previous POS system was close to seamless and haven't experienced any major issues since switching.

Vorteile:

There are several things that I love about IDEXX Neo. First, the ease of use with integrated training is great. We no longer have to pay for updated training. Second, the customer service is amazing. As the person in charge of calling when things go wrong it is very much appreciated to talk to helpful/nice customer support. Third, the continued improvement and growth is so nice. They are very open to receiving suggestions from clinics that use the software on a daily basis.

Nachteile:

There are some things that Neo isn't capable of doing yet but the pros far outweigh these. A few of those things include automated callbacks, expired items report, integrated credit card processing and integrated time clock.

Tale of a Relief Veterinarian

Kommentare: Positive. I started working a relief gig and was introduced to the software. Learning how to navigate through the SOAP's and invoicing aspect are the two areas I use daily and it was fairly stress-free for me.

Vorteile:

Simple to use, intuitive interface. The simplicity is a wonderful aspect as work is tough enough without a complex and feature heavy program to work with. I have worked at practices that use Cornerstone, and it is feature intense and that detracts from the utility of the software. Unlike Neo Software - make life so much easier for this relief vet!

Nachteile:

Features are great, I would like to be able to tweak my SOAP template without having to be an administrator. Since SOAP's are the domain of the DVM I'm not sure why you'd need to be an administrator. The practice owners are very good and happy to give me access, but many times you think of things you want to do on your laptop and no admin. staff is available.

Don't do it!!

Kommentare: We got this software based on IDEXX's reputation and expected it to be a functional product. Wrong!! It takes 9 steps to enter a rabies stage and print a certificate. You are unable to track your inventory and see when you last bought a product and how much you paid for it. Invoices print with only the total of charges for that patient, so clients are constantly complaining that they were overcharged - my receptionist has to explain multiple times a day that the system does not add all patients together. You cannot send out postcard reminders to clients who don't use email unless you pay IDEXX to do so. You cannot email records - they have to be printed and faxed. Customer service is very nice and tries hard to make the system work - it just can't do much. You cannot get a report of taxable sales for a period - it creates a spreadsheet listing the tax collected on each individual invoice. You have to then create your own formulas to sum all these numbers and then backtrack to determine taxable sales. Almost all reports come as a spreadsheet which has to be downloaded and then edited to give you simple information like who bought Frontline this month.
This is a product under development, so unless you like being a guinea pig and helping to tell the developers what features a program should have, pick another software.

Neo's product listing includes details from the last purchase, with supplier & amount paid. The inventory tracking will allow you set minimums, quantity on hand & Neo updates inventory as products are sold.  The invoice is pet visit centric & includes itemization charges from the visit. It is summarized by pet and not for a family of pets from a single visit. Kommentare: Overall Neo has been a good fit for our practice, they are constantly updating the software and solving problems.

Vorteile:

Affordable, easy to learn and use, cloud-based, integrates well with IDEXX BW machines and radiographs, easy to attach files

Nachteile:

Doesn't integrate with other programs, even other IDEXX products, difficult use for hospitalized patients, charges for patient are not automatically sorted into different categories (like prescriptions, diets, etc)

Amazing cloud-based software, highly recommended

Kommentare: Our new Clinic started with Leo January 2016 and it has been very easy to use, affordable, and accessible. I do a lot of charts for home, and I am able to access my records from any computer or tablet or phone. Neo is a wonderful online integration of Records including labs and x-ray. I have used avimark and many other software programs but this is likely the most user-friendly program I've seen. It is well worth looking into this software as a new option in cloud-based technology. Since we opened one year ago the software has been very reliable and adaptable there have been some improvements by idexx that has made the software even better. The cloud-based technology gives you an affordable alternative to server based programs and is fluidly adaptable too many styles of practice.

Vorteile:

One of the many things I like about me is the Accessibility, affordability, security and ease-of-use. I also appreciate the Simplicity, adaptability, and dependability.

Nachteile:

I would like to see the week at a glance. And have a way to organize boarding facilities.

Vorteile:

Affordable. They are constantly making improvements and evolving the product. Cloud based software allow remote access. Unlimited terminal/users login at a time.

Nachteile:

There are many kinks to work out. Inventory management isn't quite up to par yet, and there are often many steps/ clicks to execute transactions. Reporting needs improving.

Thanks for your feedback Laura, our goal is to make Neo the easiest software to set up and use, and it is essential for us to know where we are hitting the mark and where we need to improve. We hear you loud and clear on inventory management, and just last week released solutions to improve that, please let us know how those are working for you. And improving reporting is on our roadmap for 2019!
