Neo has helped streamline multi-location veterinary practice

Kommentare: Neo keeps coming out with improvements and taking feedback from users to make it better. Neo has made our clinics more efficient and puts all our information in one place.

Vorteile:

The ease of access from any location allows for doctors to work on notes from home, access accounts when on-call for emergencies, or out on the farm for large animals. The reports are very helpful for managing the business.

Nachteile:

Prescribing medications can be tedious at times, but once prescribed, medications are easy to track.

Kommentare: Love the cloud base system, I don't have to stay late doing records. Plus, if someone runs into me at the store and can pull it up to put them on the appt schedule and know that I am not over booked.

Kommentare: The time involved from checking clients in to check out is almost double what we had with an older outdated system. Hard to believe this is "the future". All of the staff are frustrated after having this system 9 months. They are begging me (management) to return to our outdated system.

poor estimate capabilities updates interfere with current processes, forms, etc. multiple windows to click through (lost time/efficiency) weak customer service (always say they are considering updating "whatever issue you have"

Kommentare: Neo has so many tools that I'm still discovering, such as appointment type breakdowns to see where/how your revenue is generated, so one can then target those areas or emphasize others moving forward. Many other features and tools available.

Vorteile:

For starters, the developers of this software continually seek, AND RESPOND, to user input, creating a continually adapting product that never goes out of date. 'Cloud-based' has rocked our world, allowing accessibility from any device with internet connectivity. So convenient.

Nachteile:

Integration with old software (Intravet)was successful for the most part...all the info is there, just formatted differently. I'd expect this to be an issue with integration from any software, however.

Vorteile:

The office uses IDEXX for both reference and in-house labs, so the integration with Neo is fantastic. We also signed up for WebPacs so our imaging would be integrated. The PMS is very user friendly.

Nachteile:

We would love to see a minimum dispense fee comparable Cornerstone's minimum dispense fee functionality.

Using Neo in small solo practice since Jan. 1, 2018

Kommentare: We have a very small, 1 doctor practice. I was somewhat concerned about going to a cloud based system, but that has been a non factor. We are still not using NEO to it's maximum capacity, but that is our fault not the software's. There was a $50 a month increase in the monthly fee at the start of 2020 that didn't thrill me, but overall our experience has been good.

Vorteile:

Initially our favorite thing about Neo was how it facilitated electronic medical record keeping and electronic communication with clients via email and SMS. Over time the things that haven't liked (reporting, inventory management, etc) has gotten much better. The NEO team is very responsive to user feedback and frequently makes enhancements and upgrades to the software that make it better and better. We certainly also appreciate the ability to run NEO on very inexpensive hardware.

Nachteile:

As I noted above, our original "cons" have gotten much better over the 2 years we have been using NEO. Getting reports from past years is still a little wonky, and there is no quick easy way to look up which patient received a certain treatment recently, ie a "who-got" feature. NEO also lumps services (labwork, vaccines, office calls, etc) together with inventory items such as pharmaceuticals and preventives into one big category called "Products". I'd like to see them split apart.

It is constantly improving

-Easy to transfer and set up, Idexx did most of the work for us -Great Service -Bundled with our other Idexx services -Great for remote logins -New Improvements, and updates constantly -Cloud printing -Customizable to your needs

-Not ready for hand held devices yet -Reports take some time to get use to -Not an easy way to track, Billed vs Payments -No quick way to itemized invoices when doing statments

Vorteile:

Customer service is great. They are good about taking enhancement requests and improving the software. It’s fairly easy to use. We use IDEXX reference labs and all of our lab reports get automatically saved to the patient’s file.

Nachteile:

Some of the reports are lacking. Inventory reports/records could use some improvement. There are a few other things, but I foresee IDEXX Neo making the necessary changes.

Kommentare: It is a great product overall. If you have the Neo plus package you can talk directly with people that can fix minor problems instantly.

Vorteile:

I like that it can be accessed completely online and they help icon is usually really helpful. As a new clinic with no one that has ever use this software, it was very easy to figure out.

Nachteile:

Some basic functionality’s that are these offers have are not an option with Neo. For example you cannot send records to another practice directly from the system. Do you have to save individual items and send it over in an email outside of the program. Also the reports for cost of goods or not completely accurate

Kommentare: Being a mixed animal practice I love that Neo is cloud based. It makes our mobile unit's life so much easier. I'm happy we chose Neo.

Vorteile:

Constant updates. Excellent tech support. Intuitive.

Nachteile:

There are issues with every software and many of our initial issues have already been fixed with updates. Some of the search functionality isn't effective. Doesn't pick up key words well. No standardized way to input phone numbers so searching a client by phone number is impossible. I feel that having more client information displayed on each screen (phone numbers, other pets, etc) would cut down the time/clicks needed to get to frequently used info fast. Even though you can customize your own forms, which is great, I wish Neo came with pre-made forms that felt more modern and eye catching. SMS isn't great - would be nice to have the ability to actually chat back and forth. In lieu of that having the ability to send an auto message that said not to reply to the text. Our clients frequently try to reply. Having clients able to pay their invoice from the email Neo sends would be helpful, especially in light of the times. Once you save a form/file to a client you can't email it to them.

Vorteile:

very intuitive and easy to use Connectivity to lab flexibility of notes way better than tightly templated softwares. I can write what I please, even within a template, I can easily make alterations Invoicing and notes on same screen versus a software like Vetport where you have to save and go back and forth between modules I have used Cornerstone, Avimark, Vetport, and this. Neo is by far my favorite.

Happy with the service, but needs a few minor adjustments

Vorteile:

The vet connect plus features were the biggest selling point. I also really appreciate the frequent updates and feature improvements. So far all the new roll outs have been positive.

Nachteile:

My biggest complaint is that they will not let me type in a date when doing date entry for birthdays vaccine reminders. It is a drop down calendar and it is horrible.

Don't do it!!

Kommentare: We got this software based on IDEXX's reputation and expected it to be a functional product. Wrong!! It takes 9 steps to enter a rabies stage and print a certificate. You are unable to track your inventory and see when you last bought a product and how much you paid for it. Invoices print with only the total of charges for that patient, so clients are constantly complaining that they were overcharged - my receptionist has to explain multiple times a day that the system does not add all patients together. You cannot send out postcard reminders to clients who don't use email unless you pay IDEXX to do so. You cannot email records - they have to be printed and faxed. Customer service is very nice and tries hard to make the system work - it just can't do much. You cannot get a report of taxable sales for a period - it creates a spreadsheet listing the tax collected on each individual invoice. You have to then create your own formulas to sum all these numbers and then backtrack to determine taxable sales. Almost all reports come as a spreadsheet which has to be downloaded and then edited to give you simple information like who bought Frontline this month.
This is a product under development, so unless you like being a guinea pig and helping to tell the developers what features a program should have, pick another software.

Thanks for your feedback. Neo has a streamlined Rabies Certificate creation & printing workflow, including an integrated one-click printing capability directly from the patients' vaccine records. Neo's product listing includes details from the last purchase, with supplier & amount paid. The inventory tracking will allow you set minimums, quantity on hand & Neo updates inventory as products are sold.  The invoice is pet visit centric & includes itemization charges from the visit. It is summarized by pet and not for a family of pets from a single visit. For emailing records, Neo has a unique feature that gives practices the ability to securely email & share records with individuals such as boarding centers, referral/specialty practices or even pet owners. The Sales Tax Report enhancement is underway now. Continuing to evolve

Kommentare: average at first. we have worked it into our practice and theres no turning back now. We'll evolve as Neo evolves. although this wasnt the way it was supposed to be we have embraced NEO and are maximizing its potential

no server, cloud based is a no brainer. works pretty seemlessly with IDEXX lab diagnostics.

Nachteile:

i think that it was over sold. the ceiling for this software is very high but they're not quite there yet. it's true that it evolves with regularity BUT each evolution/update ends up causing just as many snafu's as it solves. could have better production analytics and better inventory management

Neo is basic, but improving daily. It is very responsive to customer input. Good customer support.

Kommentare: This product saves our practice so much time and hassle. It is consistent. It synchs well with IDEXX who we use extensively. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Cornerstone, but it mostly has everything we need.

Vorteile:

The platform is super reliable. They are making continual updates, many of which have been requests we have made. The transition from our old software was smooth and pretty quick. It allows for easy client communications. It's straight forward and user friendly. It can be customized to your practice.

Nachteile:

Consultation notes can be edited forever. The word processor for making forms makes it difficult to customize forms - it's not user friendly. There are weird workflow issues that they are still working through, but they are making improvements all the time.

Have you tried using our Procedure Templates to preconfigure the format of your medical notes? This would allow you to insert your notes template with the push of a button.

Our hospital was one of the first to sign for Neo, it was scary, but Neo team helped us to make this process smooth, now we have everything we need to function without problems, have boarding schedule, time cards, you name it. More updates are coming regularly

Amazing cloud-based software, highly recommended

Kommentare: Our new Clinic started with Leo January 2016 and it has been very easy to use, affordable, and accessible. I do a lot of charts for home, and I am able to access my records from any computer or tablet or phone. Neo is a wonderful online integration of Records including labs and x-ray. I have used avimark and many other software programs but this is likely the most user-friendly program I've seen. It is well worth looking into this software as a new option in cloud-based technology. Since we opened one year ago the software has been very reliable and adaptable there have been some improvements by idexx that has made the software even better. The cloud-based technology gives you an affordable alternative to server based programs and is fluidly adaptable too many styles of practice.

Vorteile:

One of the many things I like about me is the Accessibility, affordability, security and ease-of-use. I also appreciate the Simplicity, adaptability, and dependability.

Nachteile:

I would like to see the week at a glance. And have a way to organize boarding facilities.

Good but could be better

Kommentare: Overall, it was one of my preferred EMR software. I felt that though it was lacking in some areas Neo was relatively simple and easy to use.

Vorteile:

I used this software for little over a year until changing to something else. Neo was very easy to use in regard to create medical records, collect payment and the benefit of being directly connected to Idexx Laboratories to order, view and share lab work

Nachteile:

What I did not like about IDEXX Neo was the serious lack of sharing medical records capabilities, inability to put in prescriptions on the chart with refill capabilities.

Nachteile:

Some of the accounting functions were not easy to navigate in the beginning and some of the reports have info that is not necessary. I would like to be able to pick what info I need in a specific report

Glad that we have IDEXX Neo at our office

Vorteile:

I like that everything I need is at my fingertips. If a client calls and asks what medications my cat needs to be on. I can easily find the client by their name or phone number. Select what cat they are asking about. Go to the most recent clinical event and see what the doctor has written and explain to the client what the next steps are. I honestly could not do my job without this software.

Nachteile:

What I dislike about it most is sometimes it's hard to send records if you don't follow the same exact steps every time it won't send what you need sent

Exceptionally easy to start up and convert your practice to an accessible anywhere record system

Vorteile:

I love the ability to roll seamlessly from different aspects of the records. Invoices, vaccine records, and notes are all right where you need them. I don't use the inventory control function. Just don't have time as a solo Veterinarian to load in everything. BUT I do use the Product section to constantly monitor pricing.

Nachteile:

I think the standard form templates need some tune up. I'm an IT person, so even drag and drop HTML makes me sweat. The Customer Service folks have been able to talk me down from the ceiling.

* Great integration with Idexx blood machines and radiology systems
* Unlimited data storage without a server in your clinic
* Power outage does not affect access as long as you have battery run devices like your smartphone.
* Idexx neo customer support has always been polite and helpful trying the best they can to resolve problems.
* Can use any computers you want- mac or PC. We use ipads in rooms .which have been convenient and efficient.
* We are 99% paperless.
Negatives-
* Still very new product so there have been some kinks to work out but they have all been minor and Idexx has been quick to address problems.
* Most of the instruction on how to use is through the program with help aids, no one comes out to show you.
* Can not scan papers into the record- need to use alternative program or store on hand in clinic.

Vorteile:

It can be used with whatever hardware you prefer. No backup needed. Stored offsite and no license fee.

Nachteile:

Still a lot of bugs even after a year. No templates for printing our reminders. Some of the linking instructions are hard to follow and don't seem to work.
