Basalmiq for wireframes creation

Kommentare: I used Basalmiq to create wireframes, mock-ups and UI prototypes. It offers a simplified, low-fidelity sketching style, which allows me to quickly capture and communicate my design ideas.

Vorteile:

Balsamiq's focus on low-fidelity wireframes allows for rapid iteration and feedback gathering. It encourages a collaborative and agile design process, enabling teams to iterate on ideas and make quick adjustments before moving on to high-fidelity designs.

Nachteile:

However, it should be noted that Balsamiq's sketchy, low-fidelity style, which I personally dislike for its simplicity, can also be seen as a limitation for those who need more polished and faithful designs.effectively to your needs.

Prototyping for all

Kommentare: I love it. It's quick, simple, and expressive, the extensive primitives are very helpful, and the more effort you put in the better it gets. It's also incredibly useful to be able to share a prototype as a website and get comments.

Vorteile:

1. Generating interactive prototypes incredibly quickly, thanks to a very small learning curve and a reasonably intuitive interface. 2. With a little extra effort, generating high-fidelity prototypes that pretty much match anything other (much) more expensive and complex packages can do. 3. Modifying prototypes on the fly in brainstorming meetings. 4. Openly sharing focused prototypes with others in a few clicks. 5. Dynamically incorporating Balsamiq slides into Miro boards.

Nachteile:

As the creator, when a prototype gets moderately complex, it's easy to get a bit lost as there is no overall graph of the site you have created. You can add a site map as a slide, but it just lists the pages with no way to see the link structure.

Easy Wireframe Utility

Kommentare: I would say ease of use. It's pretty quick to pick up without much ado.

Vorteile:

The ease of use and simplistic approach to creating prototypes with very low-fidelity is cool for me.

Nachteile:

Sure there is a handful of room for improvement but for the purposes I use it for in combination with other tools, I think there's not much to not like about it.

Simple and easy tool for creating low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes

Kommentare: Overall, I love the simplicity and intuitiveness of this tool. If you are looking for a product to quickly put together a wireframe or sketch (based on rough ideas) for feedbacks or approvals, then this can be a great option for you.

Vorteile:

I have used Balsamiq for more than 3+ years to create lo-fi wireframes for mobile and web applications. What I love the most about Balsamiq is that it follows UI/UX industry standards, so you can easily use their pre-built templates or icon library without making much changes. It helps you create detailed wireframes in a very short interval of time. I like the ability to export the wireframe designs in a .pdf or .png format. If you are using Balsamiq cloud app on your browser, then you can collaborate with other team members on the same wireframe in real time. This is a very useful feature, especially in those projects, where there are multiple design team members involved. It helps you in incorporating their feedback and comments without much back-and-forth.

Nachteile:

What I disliked about Balsamiq is that the exported .pdf file doesn't have very good resolution. Also, if you need a tool for hi-fi designs or interactive prototyping, then this may not be the best option. There are better products/tools available in the market.

The best software for UX processes

Kommentare: Very positive. Has sped up workflows and iterations within processes massively.

Vorteile:

I like the limitations of this software. The stripped back and lack of styling allows me to focus my time only on UX. Previously, I have had issues where doing UX in XD or Sketch the client would be trying to make too many visual considerations. Since moving to Balsamiq this has streamlined communications to focusing on interaction points, hierarchy and best practices.

Nachteile:

Not a con, but being able to assign labels for titles (H1, H2, H3 etc) would really help improve integration with CRO and SEO specialists. Also being able to have titles with multiple lines of text. A larger and more consistent base of templates would be beneficial - i.e. landing pages, ecomm, brochure sites. Currently there's a lot of app based and molecule based templates and I don't utilise any of these.

Balsamiq review

Also, some complicated projects might not have access to the more advanced design features that come with other tools.

Reliable - a must tool for software designers and business analysts

Kommentare: We used this product for 2 years to design and create a project from scratch. We used the notes features to take real time infos from the sessions with the client. Permit nice output designs and collaborative work ( we worked like 8 people to the same project, remotely).

Vorteile:

Nice design options, nice graphic boards to represent the outputs. A lot of features to offer and a stable piece of software.

Nachteile:

Quite low speed some time, quite difficult to retrieve a project using browser link, functional but low speed.

Simple, No non-sense wireframing tool

Kommentare: Overall, when I started using it at my first job, it gave a great medium for me to express my ideas on design

Vorteile:

I loved the simplicity and drag-and-drop features for even a noob to get started and create phone and web app layouts. No skills needed!

Nachteile:

It is not as sophisticated as other tools these days, but that's what you get for this price.

Easy but to expensive for the features

Kommentare: Easy to start using, but when we looked at other solutions we move away from it. It's a bit dated nowadays

Vorteile:

Easy to use and fast to do things, easy to manage different projects in separate files

Nachteile:

Expensive compared to competitors. Very crude components. A bit of a hassle to do prototypes.

Balsamiq makes quick mockups easy

Kommentare: Very positive. The company is great, the tool is very helpful

Vorteile:

I'm not a "visual" thinker, but Balsamiq makes it easy to put ideas into a visual format to share with various teams.

Nachteile:

The initial learning curve was a little steep for someone like me without a design background. But even so, it is much easier than alternatives! Much simpler. The fact that the desktop and cloud versions are completely separate isn't ideal.

Easy tool for prototyping

I feel the not enough amount of needed components during prototyping.

Kommentare: Balsamiq used to be a tool that I used daily, both for personal and professional projects. By failing to adapt its UX to the modern world, Balsamiq not only lost me as a user, but let other great tools take its place as the go-to tool for easy and fast wireframing and prototyping.

Vorteile:

Balsamiq used to be the most user-friendly and easy-to-use wireframing tool on the market. It's still good, with the actual wireframing tool being very intuitive and the component library, though a bit outdated, providing most of what you'll need to put those ideas on a canvas.

Nachteile:

If the actual tool is still pretty usable, Balsamiq has not aged well regarding everything that's around it. The global UX, from signup, to actually getting to the designer or, if you're of the daring kind, trying to use the offline app, is an experience straight from the early 2000's. It "works", but that's all it does, and gives you the feeling of a tool that's way past its era of relevance.

Very ideal for wireframe creation in software development teams

Kommentare: I still recommend this tool for the team who likes a tool for managing wireframes and prototypes. It gives the vital requirement for a mockup.

Vorteile:

1. Simple and classic look - Balsamiq gives an old-school feels to its components which I really like. It is simple and easy to blend to the documents/presentation you can add it into. 2. Drag and drop functionality - This tool is very easy to understand and manage. Training for this tool will not take long 3. Many components to choose from - Buttons, dropdowns, text fields, and more. Output is comprehensive for the whole team of any role - Because it is simple and classic, all team members can appreciate it too: developer/QA/designer

Nachteile:

1. I think that the fact that it is too plain, it can limit the user from expressing what he/she likes the prototype to become. 2. The interactions/simulations with the components in Balsamiq is too limited 3. Collaboration for instant feedback is a limitation here

I love using Balsamiq as a tool to create simple + effective wireframes for web applications.

Kommentare: Simplistic nature of the software allows me to design software products quickly and effectively - files are easy to share, and have been very effective in communicating with my dev team.

Vorteile:

I've experimented with several different wireframing softwares, and Balsamiq is definitely my favorite. I love that it focuses on product functionality, rather than design elements. I generally find wireframing for design to be distracting and preventative in coming up with a functional product design. Favorite features include: - Built-in shape templates make it fast and easy to mockup any sort of software or application - Black + white, hand-drawn feel removes distractions + allows me to focus on the actual product - Desktop app has one time license fee - Exporting to PDF is simple, and you can include links within the PDF that allow the user to mimic clicking between pages

Nachteile:

Although I love the simplistic nature of Balsamiq, some people might be frustrated with the lack of certain functions: - Wireframe is not dynamic - only exports to static file formats - Built-in shapes might be restricting if you're looking to build something custom - Lack of folders, etc for organizing multiple pages, so if you're designing something complex you may find yourself searching for which page you left off on (this is something I would add if possible)

Balsamiq is a great way to create quick wireframe to visually capture ideas

Vorteile:

The ease of use and the numerous options make Balsamiq a great tool to use to create quick wireframes. I've used it many times to create designs to illustrate ideas. The note feature allows you to add clarifications to the items in your wireframe.

Nachteile:

I find the navigation a little clumsy. Additionally, when you go to the full screen view or hide panes and other menus it's a bit difficult to get it back to the way it was before. Also, the export feature isn't great. The output tends to be too small to read if you have many items in the board.

Useful low-fidelity mockups that allow designers to communicate flows, not UI

Kommentare: Easy to use, drag and drop wireframe and design flow communication tool. Allows for the designer to control the focus of feedback to be at a higher level than UI detailing and really discuss the merit of the experience that is being proposed.

Vorteile:

Balsamiq is a great way to describe the flows (or potential flows) of an application or website, without getting bogged down into UI-level details. The library of low-fi components is super useful to quickly and easily communicate a concept, and have it evaluated at the level that you would like. I like the scrappy styling, as opposed to doing some greyscale geometry in another tool (which just doesn't set the right tone).

Nachteile:

A minor wish I have that I would like Balsamiq to be be able to do, is actually integrate with other tools like Sketch. I'm not sure how that would work, but being able to work using our own design components (we have a shared GUI pack) but then be able to flick over to a "sketchy" versions of these would be super valuable for elements of the screen that are very particular to our products.

Evergreen Wireframing tool

Kommentare: The best wireframing tool in the market, using it for the last 8 years. Recommended for all product manager and UX folks

Vorteile:

The ease of use and minimalistic design is my favorite factors in Balsamiq. The drag and drop- WYSIWYG framework make it easy to learn and get going from the day one

Nachteile:

Option to collaborate can be improved, by tagging teammates and discussing real time

Go to tool for wirefaming

Vorteile:

Balsamiq is a very easy to use tool. I have been using it for years for wireframing. It has build in elements for web, android and iOS which not only saves time but also helps in getting a perspective as in how the UX would be on the said platforms.

Nachteile:

There could be some starter packs and some which could help further speed up the process.

Great for website mockups for non-designers

Kommentare: It was and is a convenient tool I use to create basic mockups to describe my ideas to designers and developers when it comes to website design. It's user-friendly and I quickly learned how to use it.

Vorteile:

It's a great tool to explain to designers (or to other colleagues) what do you want to see on the website. I am not a designer, but I often have to create new pages with information on our website and before I give the technical task to the designers and developers. Balsamiq has quite a number of "features" you can add to your website so that you can create a draft layout in a few minutes (if you know what you're creating, that is. If not, then you can drag n' drop features around the page and get the job done too.)

Nachteile:

It did everything I needed it to do, so I haven't found anything where I found it lacking.

Few things to know about Balsamiq

Kommentare: Must to have a product like this for building prototype.

Vorteile:

1. A very good tool to learn wireframing and the concept of wireframing. 2. I am glad to say that it provides a top notch level of UX that helps me a lot to build wireframe of any display quickly and easily.

Nachteile:

1. Limited access to icon library there can be scope of improving it. 2. Boring user interface as it don’t attacts me just because it doesn’t have any color options.

Excellent for Quick Mockups

Kommentare: I've been using Mockups before I start building websites or apps because it helps me visualize what I want my project to look like and to see how each element will look next to each other. Although I use other design/prototyping tools, I find that doing low fidelity mockups on Balsamiq is a lot quicker and more efficient because it helps eliminate assets and design elements that I don't need for my projects so that I don't waste too much time when creating a higher fidelity prototype.

Vorteile:

This software was very easy to use due to its clean, basic interface and great keyboard shortcuts. I like that you can change the skin of your mockups with a cartoonish hand-drawn look or a more cleaner wireframe for that professional look. I also like the fact that it's a one time payment only and NOT a monthly subscription that you have to pay to use, especially in this day and age when almost everything is moving towards subscription based services.

Nachteile:

I don't really have much negative things to say about Mockups just because it does what it was designed to do, but it would be great if there was an Android/IOS app for people who want to create really quick mockups on the go.

Short learning curve.

Vorteile:

Balsamiq has a short learning curve and comes with a simplified user interface,making it easy for new users to understand its work environment. It comes with a great search feature which makes it easy for me to search faster for graphical images needed for my wireframes.

Nachteile:

I wish I am able to integrate my Balsamiq with other great design tools like Adobe XD,Invision, and Edraw max pro. which I currently am unable to do. Thereby missing out on ways to make my wireframes better.

Must have tools if you are a Product Manager

Kommentare: Overall satisfied, but Invision, Sketch and Marvel are catching up fast in this domain.

Vorteile:

It helps make Mockups quickly and with pre built frames it is very easy. It also helps sharing very easy. I like the fact that almost all that is needed for android, ios and web is available and can be edited.

Nachteile:

The following things I don't like - 1. No walk through/onboarding, sometimes makes you feel lost. 2. Lack of prototyping. I would like to share user flow also, which I cannot.

Easy to use to make mockups without too much detail and functionality

Kommentare: For many years I have been using the standalone version of the application almost daily. It is an easy application to use and in a short time you achieve a first iteration for a project. It has a "sketchy" aspect, which is a registered trademark (maybe because I have been using it for years, but I love it)

Vorteile:

The general disposition of the elements to use to carry out the work is good and its usability also. It allows to load personal assets to use in different projects and export as PDF or images.

Nachteile:

It does not allow high-level mockups in HTML, rather it desatca for being a "first version" of them. Even his "sketchy style" make it not become an almost final model of an application to be developed.

Vorteile:

I really like this tool because it is very versatile, I can make mockups, sketches, diagrams, etc. In a very easy and fast way, the interface is very intuitive and easy to use, any design that is needed can be created freely, it also has many icons and predetermined shapes, it has an adjustment system and a fairly useful grid that helps to work more precisely, what i like most is the number of formats in which i can export the projects, since it supports several formats such as pdf, jpg, png, etc.

Nachteile:

It is a limited software in terms of customization of shapes, since it only supports changes in size, colors and texts, it serves for basic and fast designs, however, for more dynamic and specific models, it is not the ideal tool.
