The product was easy enough to use however I know that it's always a challenge for the team to get a software integrated and setup for what we need it to do.
There is no way to test the event setup within the app before the day of the event.

InitLive for multiple events and tours
Kommentare:
We are able to manage volunteers within three programs we offer:
-Doors Open Milwaukee which requires 200+ volunteers
-Spaces & Traces, requiring 100+ volunteers
-Weekly walking tours, total of 30+ volunteers
Vorteile:
Ability for volunteers to log on and confirm shifts and easily sign up for different events and opportunities within our org. The platform also allows staff to delegate volunteer management to other volunteers. The messaging tools within InitLive work well.
Nachteile:
In setting up shifts, form questions could be streamlined.

Mixed Emotions
Kommentare: We used them for two years until we decided that it wasn't going to work as well as we hoped since we have a changing shift and the time to input all the information took someone quite awhile.
Vorteile:
I love the ability to customize schedules for groups of people and that works great if you have a steady schedule and need to assign shifts, etc. It is still a growing company so they are easy to work with and customer service is great. It does give good report option for review but the reports aren't customizable so you still have to edit them after you download content.
Nachteile:
The downside is that as a growing company, they don't have all the kinks worked out for ease of changing/saving or rotating shifts and people. It takes a lot of prep time to set up. It was okay, but not the easiest and any emails send are not saved in the system so you can resend later to a different contact group meaning you have to keep up with them on a different platform and remember who you emailed, etc.

Good shift management tool but still have a lot to improve

The mobile app was improved and now it is much more flexible and provides much more info
Nachteile:
If you need to change any information related to your team shifts, it is really heavy to do - the rational is not intuitive.

Solved so many of our problems!
Kommentare: So impressed with the software and the staff who helped us put it into play. This was an all-in solution for us and the team really walked us through each stage of the setup. At no point did we feel like a burden on them.
Vorteile:
We used this software to organize our student orientation volunteers. Previous to using the software, we used a pen & paper approach. We wanted to solve our scheduling issues but moving to a digital solution. In the end, we got so much more. What did I like most? That everything was now contained in one place - we could allow our volunteers to select their own shifts, change them as needed, see gaps in our schedule, and COMMUNICATE with volunteers from the app. It was a remarkable.
Nachteile:
We had some hiccups on the human side during our implementation. It was somewhat challenging to introduce a new process for 100 volunteers. There is a discrepancy between the app and the web version of the software. A few features are only available on the website for the early stages of setting up user's schedules. We've reported this to InitLive in hopes it can be changed for future releases.

Vorteile:
It is simply the best volunteer management software, when compared to competitors "Better impact or Rosterfy" this works out the best for its customer support, pricing and attention they give to their users.
Nachteile:
Till date we have not found any flaws within the platform
Good for organizing volunteers pre-event, not as great for day of application
Kommentare: All in all the app is great for organizing volunteers, especially in large numbers but for a smaller group of volunteers we found our current method of organizing volunteers on an excel spreadsheet worked just as well. We were hoping that we'd get more communication functionality from the app but think there is still room for improvement in that respect.
Vorteile:
The back end website is user friendly. It is easy to upload an excel template of your volunteers or add people individually. If you are looking for a way to organize volunteers and schedule volunteers that's where the product shines most. You can build roles, assign individuals and set schedules easily. There is a good deal of customization in this area which is helpful. You are able to assign multiple event managers so they also have the "power" to make changes on the website and within the app once your event goes live as well.
Nachteile:
Shifts are built by location rather than by role which wasn't logical for us because we pre-assign roles and the location isn't relevant. It would have been nice if there was more automatic assignment rather than manual when it came to putting volunteers into specific shifts once you had already assigned them a role. As a planner it was hard for me to not be able to test the app before the event went live. You see nothing in the app until it is live but at that point all your volunteers see what you are seeing and any changes being made get broadcast out. Day of we found communication via the app was limited. Only event managers can send messages to everyone or filter and send messages to specific groups. Individual volunteers can only send messages to their shift supervisor or the event managers. They weren't able to send even within their role assignment.

InitLive - loving working with this team and their software!
Kommentare: Wow. What an amazing, hard-working team to work with. We've been a client of InitLive's since January 2016 and they have been incredible so far. The customer service is fantastic and sets an example. The company is quite new and so the InitLive software continues to evolve, but what's great is that it's evolving in no small part down to the feedback, suggestions and operational requirements of the clients. It's terrific to be included in the process; we've already seen suggestions incorporated into software updates. The software is intuitive, looks great and simplicity is the backbone value of the software, which is key.
Vorteile:
We've been using the software so far to collect volunteer applications and sort them, and I have no issues to report with that. I'm looking forward to moving into Live territory where we'll be using the event app with our volunteer teams. I love the 'Live chat' facility - the support is right there!
Nachteile:
I wouldn't say "like least" as I have so much faith in this software and can see its huge potential. The only issues at the moment come naturally with the evolving nature of the software, which clear as each update takes hold.

InitLive Feedback
Kommentare: Used the software project at the Marshes last year during the World Girls Juniors. We used the software application to acquire, register, and track around 100 volunteers for a 3 day international golf tournament.
Vorteile:
The application handled a lot of the volunteer registration and shift scheduling well. It gave us a good idea of where we required additional volunteers. It assisted us in tracking volunteers shifts and determine when volunteers were late or did not show.
Nachteile:
I found that because a lot of the volunteers were seniors who did not use current computer applications regularly, many were confused with initial emails that were sent to them. Also, because of the lack of computer application knowledge of the users, many of the volunteers did not register on-line by themselves but were entered onto the system by Initlive staff or team leads. I do not believe many of the team leads utilized the mobile on-line during the event. It was interesting to find out the many spouses had registered as volunteers but only used one email address. This became very confusing since the system was geared on the email address as and id and communication was through emails regarding shift assignments.

Hi Al. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We were thrilled to work with the World Junior Girls Championship last year and happy that we were able to be on site to see InitLive in action. A lot has changed since then and we continue to make improvements to InitLive based on input like yours. In regards to the issues with users being required to have an individual email address, InitLive needs this information to ensure efficient and accurate communication, especially in the case of an accident or emergency. Additionally, as Event Managers, all team leads have easy access to input and update volunteer information and schedules. We hope to work with you again and show you all of the great changes to the system. :)
Very helpful when you are organizing several hundred participants
Vorteile:
I love the integrated app and how easily you can reach volunteers during the event. I like that the database is downloadable to excel so we can edit as we see fit. The process is simple from the users standpoint as a click and save model.
Nachteile:
It is time consuming to schedule different hours, dates, etc with specific supervisors across different shifts. Also, the inability to see emails sent from the system or reply to emails within the system itself. It would also have been nice to signup from the app/use app prior to main event.

I feel it is very user-friendly. A great tool to schedule and communicate with staff, volunteers.
Nachteile:
I wish I could personalize my emails so people could reply back, or have it link to my work email like what Mailchimp does

Kommentare: I am able to manage my volunteers as they sign up, see where I need to find more volunteers to work, and I will be able to manage and communicate with them on site via mobile means instead of physically having to move people.
Vorteile:
I like being able to break down the schedule by jobs and view all of the roles in a shift. I also like that I can set qualifications for roles.
Nachteile:
I wish that the staff profile let them put in their job experience and strengths. It would help me place the best volunteers in each role that I am looking to fill. I also wish that people could request shift without requesting a specific role and actually scheduling themselves. It would be helpful for me, because someone could let me know what time they prefer or are available to work. It would be nice if they could pick a few shift times in order of preference.

Easy and reliable
Kommentare: While InitLive is a bit more expensive than the app we used before, I'm glad to say there's a good reason. This is the most well-rounded volunteer management software I used for events. I especially loved that I was able to have so much information kept in my phone on event day.
Vorteile:
The shift reminders and communication on event day are great. We had way fewer no-show volunteers than in previous years because they were automatically reminded when they had a shift coming up.
Nachteile:
It is more expensive than other options... But that's not a con after seeing how much it improved operations at our festival.

Managing our Event is SO MUCH EASIER NOW!
Kommentare: I don't even know where to start. Instead of writing a novel (because I could) I'll be brief and to-the-point. We've been running a large event with over 7,000 people and 150 volunteers for 7 years now. We've used other providers and no solution even comes close to comparing to InitLive. The interface, pre-event for setting-up is intuitive and easy to use and the app for event day is AMAZING. InitInitLive made it so easy for us to communicate with our volunteers and make changes and adjustments. I even had volunteers, not in the event industry, come and find me to tell me how much they liked it. Probably the most important point I want to mention is that their customer service is OUTSTANDING. They are very available and extremely responsive. Thank you InitLive for everything, we look forward to working with you year-after-year!

InitLive has taken a load of extra work off my shoulders
Kommentare: Less tedious work. The features of being able to copy/paste staff, roles etc. Has taken a lot of steps out of my job.

Ease of use. Support was great help on getting me started, but I was able to self teach myself on a lot of things also just because it is so user-friendly.

Saw it in action
Kommentare: I had the pleasure of seeing this volunteer management software in action at a local Golf tournament I helped out with. Really neat to see staff and volunteers communicating with the planners from an app. I know that the organizing committee was really impressed as well.

House of Paint Experience with InItLive
Kommentare: Leading up to our festival , diving into the app was made easy to set up volunteer's profiles and adding staff. I enjoyed the broadcasting system which allowed to send messages to staff list with ease. I will say that the scheduling part could use a little bit of work as far as making the monotonous task a little more easier to set up , but overall minus a few glitches I feel the app is amazing and we look forward to implementing more next year with our staff.

InitLive ROCKS
Kommentare: We at the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired really valued our experience with InitLive because it made organizing our volunteers seamless and that as anyone knows who works with volunteers is the ultimate endgame. We had multiple events over multiple days which is no easy feat and then to add in over 60 volunteers offering over 200 hours of support could have easily gone down the rabbit hole of scheduling disaster but I didn't receive ONE CALL asking for help or where to be. I also heard wonderful feedback from our dedicated volunteers from how seamless the app was to their favorite of knowing exactly where they needed to be and when. THANK YOU for making our lives easier so that we could make our events top notch!!

The ease of use and the collection of contact info afterwards which oftentimes can be forgotten or hard to read if written down.

Not sure yet, haven't experienced anything worth mentioning!

True Lifesaver
Kommentare: I was able to connect with my volunteers in a matter of seconds once everything was set up and running. I don't know why I would ever go back to spreadsheets, this tool kept my volunteers organized and safe.

Much cheaper than other tools I've used in the past and it has way more features.
Nachteile:
Not free but it's worth every penny since it does a lot more than the free tools out there.

The solution for all your volunteer coordination needs

Kommentare: My manager told us that we needed to use InitLive for the event I was volunteering at. After downloading the app, I could see the value it in. Thought it was super cool and easy to use. I also really liked the colors. I recommended the app to another coordinator at a different event I was working.

Kommentare: Anyone running events knows this is THE area that is most neglected. A solution, that too a comprehensive one as InItLive addresses this and how! It is super easy to use and tackles all real concerns of any meeting planner. Awesome for events big and small.
