Great Fixed Assets program
Kommentare: Our company uses Sage Fixed Assets to maintain our company Asset files by setting up a separate company for each location. Sage keeps up with the ever changing depreciation laws so you don't have to.
Vorteile:
Multiple companies can be set up, in addition a consolidated company can be set up for reporting purposes. Lots of easy applications.
Nachteile:
When printing reports sometimes the system locks up on me and I have to log out and restart it.
Easy to set-up and use. Very good but basic fixed assets accounting system.
Kommentare: Overall this is a great tool for accounting of fixed assets for small to mid-sized companies with assets of 10,000 or fewer. It accomplishes all that is needed but keeps it basic. Does not easily integrate with other software products.
Vorteile:
Having utilized "FAS" for 12 years, Sage Fixed Assets is a practical but thorough accounting software for managing assets. Importing data is easy. Various depreciation schedules are great to use. Running monthly depreciation is also easy. Simple, pretty basic, gets the job done.
Nachteile:
Reporting is very basic and hard to customize. Fields are too narrow for effective customized output. Exports of data into Excel does not produce easily usable rows and columns. Getting report totals by department for posting is more complicated than it should be.
Gets the job done
Kommentare: I really only use it to calculate depreciation. I have a large number of fixed assets, but if i had a smaller amount i could probable do depreciation on Excel. So just based on my limited use i think the software is expensive for what it does. That being said, it does do the job.
Vorteile:
Easy to set up new assets easy to run depreciation.
Nachteile:
Not intuitive. Reports are odd. Errors are hard to fix. If you accidentally run depreciation a second time becaue the exit button looks like OK you are not going to be able to undo this. Its not always easy to know what reports you need to run. Custom reports cost extra.
Sage Fixed Assets - Great Product
Kommentare: We have moved from excel tracking and depreciation calculations to letting Sage do everything for us. With the challenge of ever-increasing workload, Sage reduced the accountant's asset related workload.
Vorteile:
We have used Sage since I started as an accountant 10 years ago. Sage does all the tracking and journal entry calculations for us. When entering assets, we were able to modify the asset template for anything we wanted to add such as sticker placement and add drop down list that eliminates keying errors. Reports can be run for year-end audits and Sage has the capability to have more than one company on the same platform. In addition, it has a testing database we utilize to create entries/depreciation that doesn't affect our data. As the Controller now, I can run my own reports to check the status of our assets.
Nachteile:
I can't think of anything to list for improvements, Sage gives us everything we need.
Sage Fixed Assets Review
Kommentare: This is the second company that has utilized this product in the accounting department of the bank. It was nice to have familiarity with it, and it makes my job easier.
Vorteile:
We utilize the majority of the functionality in a month, it is easy to use, and I like that it is all centrally located and that the customer service reps when needed are extremely helpful.
Nachteile:
I do not have anything that I dislike about the Safe Fixed Assets product.
Easy to use & great way to track assets
Kommentare: We use Sage to track all our assets. It is very useful in calculating and tracking our depreciation. The customized reports that you can create are a great feature.
Vorteile:
The depreciation feature is what I like most. As well as the reports for various things. The system is super easy to navigate. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I wasn't involved on the integration of our system.
Nachteile:
I have not found any things I don't like about Sage. I find all the features I use to be easy and very useful.
Great for fixed asset management-10/10
Kommentare: The calculation of depreciation expense is very easy and makes our month end process so much smoother than manually calculation!
Vorteile:
Product is easy to use and implement. We use it to calculate monthly depreciation and run monthly and yearly reports.
Nachteile:
I can't really say anything that I don't like about this product. It is very easy to use.
I Can't Believe People Use EXCEL Rather Than SAGE for Fixed Assets
Kommentare: I have used SAGE Fixed Assets for 22 years and really like this software.
Vorteile:
It is so forgiving - if you make a mistake - you just re-enter and re-calculate.
Nachteile:
Too many leading Zeros for Account Numbers - Maybe My Fault!
My Two Bits
Kommentare: It has been great.
Vorteile:
It depreciates properly. It has multiple books. Report writer allows for obtaining information in format we need. Cost is reasonable. Have used it for about 25 years - company is stable, software reliable. Best as I recall, have only need to contact support 2-3 times over the last 20 years.
Nachteile:
I wish I would be notified by email or telephone call when there is an update/upgrade instead of having to go look for it. Best as I recall, takes longer than I would like to get support - I'm old and like to be able to call and speak with a human being within 5 minutes.
Inventory Management
Kommentare: We use Sage Fixed Assets for our day to day duties and will continue to utilize sage as our asset manager.
Vorteile:
I like how simple employees pick up on using this software, the customer support is fast and very helpful as well.
Nachteile:
We did have some issues managing the inventory tabs and labels and that seemed to be difficult for someone who doesn't know how to do it already. Support helps out greatly.

It is pretty much plug and play once you get it set up correctly. It runs by itself and adding assets is very easy.
Nachteile:
Running the reports can be a bit cumbersome

Our group of companies includes several corporate entities with a variety of capital assets, including heavy equipment, processing equipment, vehicles, furniture-fixtures, IT equipment, and real estate. As a Canadian user, we have found Sage Fixed Assets to be a suitable and robust solution for the tracking of acquisitions, amortization, NBVs, month-end accounting, and year-end reporting.
Nachteile:
Ideally Sage Fixed Assets should be fully integrated within Sage 300, our Enterprise software, which has a high degree of integration between the EQ, JC, PR, and GL modules. I visualize a comprehensive equipment master record within Sage 300, with the functionality of Sage FA. This would eliminate the double handling of equipment master records and related transactions which would be welcomed with open arms.

Vorteile:
Easy to use and manage FA. User friendly.
Nachteile:
sometimes it is difficult to solve with live chat. I prefer call or shared screen.
Not happy with recent changes
Kommentare: Great until what appears to be a recent ownership change with Sage and now every little thin is an extra charge. We have some new employee is our IT department and to get help with updating our system with the 2023.1 updates we had to pay for a service upgrade just to get assistance with an update. This never us to happen. Not happen with this an having to pay over $3,000 to use Crystal reports FOR JUST ONE YEAR. It used to be included in the annual Sage FAS package.
Vorteile:
GL Reporting makes creating the monthly journal entry easy.
Nachteile:
Not happy with the Crystal Reports now being a separate product that the cost to update from the old version to the most recent version was ridiculous. When we first started using FAS it was include in the product. Also what should have been a 30-45 minute update to add CR to a new computer was 2-3 hours.
Not easy to get help
Kommentare: I think it will work great. We are not done setting it up yet. It is not easy to set up a new company.

Integration with Sage 100 seems to work great, but we are not done yet.
Nachteile:
Hard to get help/setup. Setting up a new company is not easy.

Perhaps could be easier to integrate into Sage. Would like a more direct way to access data across platforms.
Sage Fixed Assets is the center of our depreciation function
Kommentare: Overall experience is good and we have realized correct and accurate depreciation and disposals.
Vorteile:
Disposals, reports and asset accounting. The ease of making a custom report in the system.
Nachteile:
The system is "buggy" at times. Customized depreciation types is difficult at times.
Tax Director Ponders Sage
Kommentare: The business problem we solved with SAGE has been to handle a large amount of information to prepare Federal tax depreciation. I don't know how else we'd get it done!Thank you SAGE!
Vorteile:
We use SAGE to prepare Tax Depreciation. It works very well to perform a very complex function. With education and experience, you can populate SAGE and make a variety of steps to meet a lot of needs for tax reporting. I love the Reports function, which makes it easy to get some forms.
Nachteile:
I struggle to figure out how to get help from SAGE when needed. A webinar, "how to" document or 800 number for support would help greatly.

It does the job for what we need minimally.

It is not very user friendly and the reporting is not good.

Kommentare: The overall experience has been very positive. The product is very customizable and works seamlessly with the Sage GL product.

Easy set up and great integration with the Sage GL product. Posting monthly entries is extremely easy.

No real cons. The product has worked better than expected!

It is easy to use. There are several different reports that I can run.

Sometimes it's hard to decide which assets should be included in running depreciation.
Not User Friendly
Kommentare: I don't like it at all but our CPA firm required we get fixed asset software and, since we use Sage for accounting, we went with it for fixed assets. In hindsight, I wish we would have picked a software that is easier to use as we don't sync it with our accounting module anyway.
Vorteile:
Nothing. The only good thing about it is it is better than spreadsheets.
Nachteile:
Sage Fixed Assets if very hard to use. Every time I use it I have to run several reports before I get the one I need. Not at all user friendly!
SAGE Fixed Assets
Kommentare: Overall highly satisfied versus manually tracking our assets.
Vorteile:
We have over 300 fixed assets and this software helps us contain, track and depreciate. It is a very useful tool for us.
Nachteile:
Entering the assets can be a challenge going from screen to screen on the different tax basis.
