Outrageously exceptional customer service

Vorteile:

After extensive research, I chose Subbly for my new subscription box service. The entire process with Subbly is simple. But what stands out above and beyond is the fast, efficient, and friendly customer service. Also funny. These people are human and are a pleasure to interact with. They are quick to respond to any requests, including requests for changes that are not standard on the site. As well, the shopping cart is the cleanest and most efficent I've ever seen. Subbly also keeps a forum right on site for entrepreneurs to request new features, and follows through with the features where they are a good fit. Honestly, I can't say enough about how happy I am with Subbly.

Nachteile:

No cons. Honestly. Anything that could improve technically, Subbly leaps on it.

Kommentare: Ive rarely needed customer support as its a fairly easy platform to set up and use (i am a technophobe btw! So this says a lot) however on the rare occasion ive needed support the team have been fab! Very quick too. Really cant say that for a lot of big platforms like wix, faire or mailerlite that i use often but are beyond frustrating to work with.

Vorteile:

I do love subbly😍 my subbox would have churned out by now without subblys toolkit and the addons function is definitely helping the bottom line and ultimately my stress levels cause for every 1 that leaves at least 2 more have doubled their box 📦 😀

Nachteile:

They are a newish platform so all functionality isnt in place as yet. The subbly i signed up to 2 years ago is a baby compared to the subbly of today. But they are constantly evolving and taking feedback from founders in the industry so are on the leading edge of all developments so im excited to see where well both end up! 😀

Poor support

Kommentare: Poor customer service, chatbot kept repeating the same response despite my explaining the issue. The survey would not accept a nil response number, so couldnt progress alteration of extras. The conclusion was a brand new client lost.

none,nada, nothing, zilch, zero, really unhelpful

Not being able to alter/change a subscription easily.

It's a good option to start your subscription business

Vorteile:

I liked the ease I had to make a website. It was pretty drag and drop, which coming from WordPress (where it had such a steep learning curve), was a Godsend. Especially because I had to run my business in the background too. I also liked the help of almost all my questions with their library. They have videos, articles and if you really need it, you can message or have a conference call it get someone to explain features. Also, it's reassuring to know that your customer data and info is in good hands. If there's an issue, there's a group of people who can hold your hand and help you.

Nachteile:

It was still a learning curve which is to be expected. However, when you learn Subbly's features it feels like you're caging yourself in because there's much less customizability (unlike WordPress). There were several instances where I had to change parts of my business because Subbly wasn't capable of some of the things I was asking. It can be pretty frustrating because you're molding your business to adapt to Subbly, when I thought the platform would be a good tool for my business to be better. So, I think maybe making the platform more customizable in the future, would help people who are moving from WordPress not lose the freedom to make their business however they want without compromising so much, so having to change parts of their model to adapt to Subbly.

Everything I needed plus some!

Kommentare: Overall this has been wonderful! I am alone in building this business, except when working with subbly. Its everything I didnt know I needed for my business, walks through a clear setup list, and has features waiting for me as I build up to needing more automations. The support team has been like a partmer to me, making sure I understand how things work in the tool and what option I have if an option isnt available (for example, giving customers account credit could be easier, but support gave me two clear alternatives to use with their system to pull off something similar).

Vorteile:

I can't believe how many features this one system has. I've had to rewrite the business plan a couple times and each and every way I try to do it I have an option here with this website because of the many features they offer. As I've come up with ideas from my customers as well, subbly seems to always have an option for doing what I want or working to accomplish it in some way. The support is also top tier, always there to help and always willing to fully understand my problem and authentically brainstorm with me as an owner working with their system. Its been a great partnership.

Nachteile:

So far, because there are so many features the learning curve is pretty steep. (But for being what it is, I also find it very user friendly to navigate around and the articles talk to me like I'm a real person so it makes it easy to read through those to find my answer.)

Honest opinions from a 2+ year Subbly User

Vorteile:

If you are looking to get started with your subscription based business or even if you have been doing your business for years already, I 100% recommend Subbly. It is EXTREMELY USER FRIENDLY and there are so much options and customizable features for every niche. You dont have to code a single thing if you do not want to and you still have just as much customizable features as a pro web designer.

Nachteile:

Subbly does offer basic email marketing, and it is editable. However, I think it needs more flexibility. Unlike Klaviyo or Mailchimp which are specifically designed for email marketing, Subbly is limited in its capabilites. Although Subbly does offer a multitude of 3rd party integrations, such as Klaviyo, it is still extremely limited. For example, I use Klaviyo, however, Subbly does not have all metrics on Klaviyo for it to even work to its full potential. If you were moving from WooCommerce and had Klaviyo integrated, and then you moved to Subbly, you will quickly learn of the "cuts" you no longer have in your email marketing simply because Subbly does not, and has not, offered a "true" or "full" integration. Personally, I feel like it's a, lack of a better term "half assed" integration. I fully believe that if Subbly wants to offer certain 3rd party integrations, like Klaviyo, it needs to be working at 100% capacity, not 75%. I beleive "little" things like this actually become a big problem when it comes to growth and eventually just becomes a burning whole in your wallet. I have brought this issue up to Subbly and they recommended getting Zapier as a solution. So now, I am paying for Subbly system, but also Klaviyo (because Subbly does not offer a flexible email marketing), but now I have to pay for Zapier as well. Then you may have to pay someone to set up your Zapier because Zapier isnt the most user friendly application. It just adds up and can be mentally exhausting.

Kommentare: Where to begin...? I was struggling before I found them. I was struggling to get my subscription up and running, dropping money into another site that wasn't as attentitve to it's customer's/subscriber's needs even though they offered a marketplace. But then a sale through the marketplace would've taken what little 'profit' I'd have made off of the sale... and then came Subbly. The resources on their site are up to date. I've gotten multiple video explanations, on the backend of MY subscription store, showing me exactly where to go and what to do pertaining to whatever questions I may have asked. They give you the tools and resources you need for success and if you need that little bit of help along the way to figure things out because you got stuck? The staff are there to help you 100%. Seriously, I can't say enough good stuff about the staff. And the fact that Subbly makes a live chat a priority for their subscribers to reach out as issues arise? I don't have to wait a week or more for help with something that could literally take 2 minutes to answer. Remember in Pretty in Pink when Ducky takes Andie to Prom and then she ends up leaving with Blane? But just as you're feeling sorry for Ducky there is that girl who waves him over and you know he's going to be okay? Well I was Ducky and Subbly was that girl waving me over. Weird analogy I know. But I feel like I'm going to be okay with Subbly.

Vorteile:

It's not wordy in the instructions. It's clean. It's concise. It's easy to manage on my own('cause let's face it starting out, we're doing it all ourselves)! It's easy on the eyes on the screen even if sitting and working at the computer for a long time (as we do).

Nachteile:

In the website builder I get "Product" and "Products" mixed up... but that's more of a user error than anything else!

I can not get over the fact that I got to speak with a REAL human being ([sensitive content hidden]), and a lovely one at that! I can't recommend Subbly high enough to potential customers. Not only is the product brilliant, but the customer service is second to none! The Subbly team are friendly and proactive and will go as far as sending you personalised guidance videos. Can't wish for more!

Kommentare: It's a great but still growing platform for subscription businesses. I think it's the best option at a reasonable price range for a subscription business all-in-one platform and website builder, and they are building out some of what I would consider are the missing features so it's only going to get better. Plus, their customer support is worth a special mention - they go above and beyond with personalised support whenever anything is amiss. I recommend Subbly for subscription business startups.

Vorteile:

I reviewed a few platforms via free trials before deciding on Subbly for my e-commerce subscription store. It was the clear winner for versatility and support for variable subscription options. Other platforms can be twisted to work, with plugins and addons (at additional cost) but if a line of subscription products is your core, then Subbly's your best bet. This is what it's designed for out of the box, and it handles it well.

Nachteile:

Because Subbly is still (as at Sep 2020) a relatively niche platform, if you want to integrate with other services you have limited choices. They are building out their app integrations, but the library of services that work with Subbly is still small. However, some custom coding and some automation intermediaries like Zapier can bridge a lot of these gaps. The website builder is comprehensive and easy to use. There are a few features missing, but that's true of Wix, Squarespace and others I've used. Subbly's builder is actually easier to use than some of these others, and allows custom code to fill the gap where there's no built in feature. However, as flexible and great as this part is, the rigidity of the checkout is a drawback - I believe it's on the roadmap to open up more options and customisations with checkout and I think that will make Subbly an end-to-end unbeatable option for subscription commerce businesses.

Waaaay better than shopify, despite missing a few features

Kommentare: I was struggling with costing with Shopify. Everything was an extra cost and it all added up to be way too much.

Vorteile:

the support team is AMAZING. I used/still use them frequently, but not because it's hard software to use, it's in fact so easy that i find myself trying more complicated things than before (i'm not a techie). Also, the price includes just about everything (analaytics, subscription billing etc) in the price.

Nachteile:

Integrations and features. I wish there was a bulk inventory import for my products. There are also a few pay-for apps that i wish were a bit cheaper but that's just as I am starting out.

Subby has made it so that I could easily get my subscription box business off the ground. Their customer service is KING. Seriously unparalleled. It feels like I have Subbly admin as my employees helping me every step of the way.

Nachteile:

I do struggle with using software. The site isn't intuitive (to me) and that is why I have relied so heavily on customer service.

Best Tool For Subscription Boxes Out There

Kommentare: I have all of the data I need in my dashboard. The website builder was very simple to use. Best customer service I've ever experienced. They make you feel like part of the team.

Vorteile:

The website builder made everything so simple to design. You have analytics, revenue reports, a customer database, and more, all in one place! But the best thing about Subbly is its incomparable customer service. Even late at night they respond to my questions. I highly recommend them!

Nachteile:

It would be great if they had a marketplace to help users gain more subscribers, but that isn't a fault of the software. It's just a desired feature they can maybe look into in the future.

Kommentare: I have built a completely new website by customizing one of their templates, in a short period of time. I have found their customer service top notch, as they've been close by to answer my endless questions.

Vorteile:

The software just makes a lot of sense to maneuver while building. It's easy to learn for the most part. Templates are easy to customize.

Nachteile:

The Con is really a Pro, but I found that there are so many options for customization, it's easy to be overwhelmed as you keep unearthing a new feature.

Kommentare: I'm starting a new subscription box business and I needed a website. I found a company that specializes in this and very quickly became absolutely and completely frustrated. I was just wishing that I had a friend that would hold my hand while setting this up. I Googled who their competitors are, and came upon Subbly. What a completely different experience. Immediately I noticed that their website showed step-by-step how to set everything up-and they thought of absolutely everything. It couldn't have been more intuitive. But as easy as their software has made things, by far the most impressive thing is this company's customer service department. I then received an absolute onslaught of hand holding. This company's customer service is second to none. The customer service department is actually PROACTIVE. They don't wait for you to have a question-They anticipate what your questions are going to be, then they email you detailed explanations that you receive as your setting up your site. It's feels like you have a friend watching over your shoulder, and answering your questions as you build your new site. The chat box is just as awesome, as your questions are answered almost immediately, and they offer additional tips just to one-up their own customer service. The people could not be more pleasant or helpful. I never imagined that I could have a better customer service experience than Amazon. I was wrong. Subbly has best support, bar none.

Ease of use. It's truly a turn-key package, and so easy to use.

Nachteile:

Nothing. It's awesome. The only thing better than the software is the excellent customer service.

Kommentare: Customer service with Subbly is top-notch! If I had a question, I would receive a video response showing me exactly how to navigate my system to address my question. VERY fast responses and they were easy to contact.

Vorteile:

Subbly's platform is perfect for small business. It is very intuitive and easy to navigate. Inside the platform, Subbly would provide notifications and updates of what was happening in our account in "real language". I love this feature, as it makes it easy to see the activity on my account. The website builder was surprisingly easy, but allowed for a ton of design flexibility.

Nachteile:

There really were not any features that I didn't like with Subbly. I was overall really pleased with it.

Unbeatable customer services

Kommentare: We're happy with Subbly. We don't plan on going anywhere. Good integrations, good features and new ones all the time, great customer service.

Vorteile:

The fact that it's built specifically for sub boxes sealed the deal. Amazing customer service keeps us with this platform It was important to us, when starting out, that they don't hold your box and followers/subscribers hostage if you choose to leave.

Nachteile:

New features can be very glitchy. I wasn't able to use the gift certificate feature during the holidays, because it was buggy. Those sorts of things need to be rolled out during the lulls in the year. Might also be useful to beta new features with existing users at various levels of tech literacy. The website builder could be more straightforward. I'm fairly tech savvy and I had to bring in a designer to set things up. I've had to pull him back in here and there. I want to be able to do it all myself. It would be helpful to have videos for the most common issues. The few videos I watched were not particularly helpful for the initial build out. They need to be made for the person who knows almost nothing. Step by step. Assume nothing.

I sometimes find that not all apps/services integrate well with Subbly, but this is definitely improving. I also find that website design can be quite basic.

Kommentare: I am super impressed with the ease of integration as well as the costumer service. With eager anticipation, I will be closely following the progress Subbly makes as a business.

Vorteile:

For a bunch of reasons Subbly is my new favorite. First of all, their CEO and other support staff are extremely available to answer all questions and resolve any problems. More than resolving problems, they want their company to be the best in its field. If you're in need of a service that they currently don't provide, but you think they should, they'll build it. As a therapist who provides online therapy, I want as close as possible to a one stop shop. They are working on becoming that. More than just providing an attractive, efficient, and highly costumizable subscription-based check-out (for which they've partnered with Stripe), they are working creating an online-membership specific interface. They also provide web hosting and a simple DIY web building platform. If I need scheduling I'm sure they'd work with me to integrate it. I get the impression from support team that if you have a need that they don't yet meet, they'll work with you on building and integrating your case-specific requirements.

Nachteile:

Subbly is new and as such is still a work in progress. Its not yet the one-stop-shop solution it has the potential to be, but in my opinion it is well on its way.

Kommentare: I spent a lot of time researching what product to use to launch my subscription box. I actually started somewhere else and within days had switched to Subbly. Now I'm here to stay.

Vorteile:

1) It's reliable. I love that I can trust Subbly to do the work even while I'm not. I've never had a single customer contact with me with problems with the system. It does what it does, and I don't have to worry about whether it's going to work the way it's supposed to or not. 2) It's supportive and helpful. The support team is crazy knowledgable about the ins and outs of their system and they are always willing to help and see any issue through to its resolution. They always make sure a problem is solved before they leave it. That's actually pretty huge. 3)It's pretty easy to learn, if intimidating at first. I love that even though I'd never made a website before, I could quickly learn to use the tools Subbly provides to make a professional-looking one.

Nachteile:

If anything, I'm not sure the analytics are always correct. Pretty sure the pageviews section isn't working right because I think I had a zillion before I even connected my domain, which makes no sense.

Exactly what my business needed

Great Service, Great Product!

I had a launchpage with another company to start with and then switched to subbly when I was ready to officially launch the business. I chose Subbly based on reviews I read, and I'm so glad I did. Subbly guides you intuitively through many of the steps of setting things up and has so many capabilities - there is so much to think about, I'm so glad that Subbly guides you through the process. I think the platform is pretty straightforward for a non-techy person, and I have really appreciated their excellent customer service when I do have questions. And, I'm so glad they respond quickly and are helpful, respectful, and encouraging to me, the customer.

Vorteile:

I love that the subbly is easy to use and navigate. Great customer service!! I really can't overemphasize how great their customer service is. Every time I have had a question, they reply personally with help (usually within a few hours) and follow up to make sure everything is going well. Also, I love how their responses are always positive and encouraging.

Kommentare: Subbly Customer Service has been very patient and responsive to my questions and are always willing to find a solution to my problems. Communication is very clear. I am a happy Subbly user.

Vorteile:

I was a complete beginner and was able to design my website, setup my Subscription Box business and run online shop, all with the support of Subbly excellent tutorials and Customer Support.

Nachteile:

As the platform is subscription oriented, it was not so easy to set up my products shop at the beginning, but they are always improving the features and it is a lot easier now.
