Vorteile:

I like that I can access it anywhere remotely to make changes, add menu items, and view sales.

Nachteile:

I don't like the new update. I feel the original version is easier to use.

Kommentare: Really, after dealing with POS systems for 36 years, CAKE is by far the best that I have ever experienced. They work hard to understand my problems. I talked to rep ([sensitive content hidden]) the other day because we had a online ordering glitch that he needed to refer to the next level. The problem got solved quickly by the next team. [sensitive content hidden] called me this morning to check and make sure that the problem was taken care of! Outstanding!!

Vorteile:

I recently started using CAKE - 1) Setting up the system is ridiculously easy. I'm 61 years old and was able to set up our store with little instruction. 2) When I did need help, the customer service was always outstanding. I have been in business for 36 years and I can honestly say that CAKE customer service is the best I have ever experienced!

Nachteile:

There are a few things I wish it had - like notifications that the customer has arrived for curbside pickup.

Sometimes it’s extremely confusing on what to do when a problem arises. Also wish it did timing features to different stations on the line

Kommentare: Chat bot AI is really disheartening. The agents are great support.

Vorteile:

Great listening skills and problem solving. Interpretation of casual lingo to ‘cake’ lingo, and empathy

Nachteile:

The chat boy AI really need improvement. The forecast in interpreting human language is super faulty and is such a road block.

Overall a Good Product with Excellent Customer Support

The customer support staff has always been great. I have been a CAKE user for 6 or 7 years now. I spent 3 Hours on the phone yesterday with [sensitive content hidden] , who informed me at the end of the call that he was supposed to get off work at 4pm. I called at 3:55pm and he gave me his best efforts, a great attitude, and he genuinely wanted to help me troubleshoot the issues we were experiencing. The only reason I am writing this review is to give [sensitive content hidden] a shout out!

Nachteile:

There are a few fundamental aspects that most restaurants do, such as happy hour, and CAKE is not designed well for special pricing without creating duplicate items with the discounted prices, and a "happy hour" menu separate from the standard POS menu. It works, but it would be better if an item could have multiple prices based on certain times of day.

Compared to the other POS systems I have used over the years, this is by far, the most user friendly POS system I have used! I love the mobile access, which allows me to view & edit timesheets & menu from home

The cord for the card reader isn't as tight & secure as it should be, so the card reader disconnects

Great customer service!

Kommentare: I spoke with [sensitive content hidden] today to troubleshoot an internet problem and he was FANTASTIC! He got our system back up and helped figure out the problem. I can't say good enough things about him!

The customer service and troubleshooting. Ease of access with the POS station.

The updated version is not as user friendly compared to the old version.

Great, easy to use, system.

Kommentare: Customer service is always great and has answers quickly. I have had little interruption with service at all. It's the 3rd POS I have used within my business, and it is by far my favorite.

Vorteile:

The reporting system is great. I appreciate being able to access information in real time from an off site location.

Nachteile:

Not in love with the organization of my screen. Seems for some items there is a lot of buttons to push. Would like a "best sellers" screen as a home screen, would also like the extra fee features to be able to default to off and have employees use it as needed.

Affordable and Consistent

It did what it needed to do without causing disruptions. Priced competitively and though had offers to switch kept with them.

Nachteile:

continued working with the intuitive nature of some of the back end things- front end staff were good with it but there were times when the back end would need adjusting and if could be "Dumbed" down to someone not as technical that would be great... i would call into support (who was great) but felt like it should have been easier to fix some things

Cake promises undelivered

Kommentare: While it functions fine for the ordering and set up. The back end portion for controls of labor are not in place. You also do not have a choice on who processes your credit cards. Twice in a month we were delayed credit card processing deposits into our account. While I do believe that it was probably the 3rd parties processing fault we have 7 other locations that have not experienced this problem at all. Maybe its time for Cake to change processors! When you have pending checks to clear and you don't get your planned deposit for your credit card processing it can be stressful day with banking.

Vorteile:

The product was recommended by Sysco. The cost and the features explained was the selling point.

Nachteile:

There is no partnered labor control ap that works with clock in of your employees on the Cake system . With Labor control being one of the largest cost factors and with all the new features that others offer. Cakes only partner is with 7 Shifts and for that you pay a hefty price even to be able to schedule on it. If you have one location maybe you can get by with the old paper schedule but with multiple locations and a number of employees there are no feature that control early clock ins, no clock ins, breaks, and overtime alerts. The other part of this there is no interest getting it done on a time frame that makes sense. Your told one thing by the top to get you off the phone, bug them enough and they will tell you maybe its not the system for you. So save yourself some money and not buy this system if you are any way wanting to truly manage labor it just does not do it if you have many locations to keep track of. I would say if you have over 25 employees as well , you would save many dollars with systems that help control clock ins.

With that said, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience that the delayed deposit caused. We understand that running multiple restaurants can be stressful enough. Our intention is to make life easier for our operators. As for your concerns in regard to labor control, we have and are making concerted efforts to push features that would be beneficial to our operators. In our 6.28.1 release, we added the feature to prevent early clock-ins from breaks. university.cake.net/s/article/What-s-New-in-6-28-1-0 Although we do not have overtime alerts, we are able to allow automatic clock-out times.

Easy to use and a definite asset for restaurants and bars!

Kommentare: We had a wonderful experience overall with our system. I would still be using it if our business had not sold and would use again if we ever open a similar business in the future.

Vorteile:

The CAKE POS was very easy to use and I loved the detail it provided for us. As a restaurant and bar, we needed a lot of detail in orders and the ability to print to different stations was amazing vs. having to walk each order back. The reports were easy to use as was the changing of the menu and adding/removing items. It was also great for training staff because it was very straight-forward and step-by-step.

Nachteile:

Table numbers being required would be great. The signature pad being a little more sensitive to picking up finger signatures. Split checks were sometimes burdensome and could use a little improvement to speed things up when it's busy. I would love it if the creating of subcategories would be easier (say you have several of one brand of wine so you have less tabs to have to look for items).

Overall, it's a piece of CAKE!

Kommentare: We have found that we can easily pull reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly) anytime. Which helps with deciding what menu items to keep or replace. Despite a few hiccups here and there, we were able to overcome them after reaching out to customer service. Our experience has been positive.

Vorteile:

Ease of adding/deleting menu items. Additionally, that its overall easy to navigate. One of my absolute favorite things though is that if you make any changes and upload them (publish them) it happens quick and easy. There's no having to restart the systems and terminals and then wait for them to reload.

Nachteile:

I really dislike that you cannot re-open a server "check out" once they've clocked out. Many times we have had staff missing receipts and then locate it after they've clocked out. Makes them feel like they worked for free. I've used ALOHA in the past and that was a great, frustration saving, feature.

A promising work in progress

Kommentare: Cake is a perfectly adequate system that has served our needs but as we grow we feel like we need to search for a more robust system with all of the features that we need.
Customer service has always been responsive, even if to tell us that the features we requested aren't available.

Vorteile:

This system is user friendly and has all of the BASIC features you need to get going. The customer facing hardware is attractive and functional. Back end programming is fairly easy to use once you are familiar with it. Online ordering has been fairly easy to implement and has all of the BASIC functions you need.

Nachteile:

After working with this system in multiple locations for a few years, we have come to learn of some shortcomings - reporting with the system in difficult to navigate and hard to generate more detailed sales reports. It is not an intuitive reporting system. The basic snapshot functions are great, but digging deeper to get more detailed reports is cumbersome. Also some basic functionality on the restaurant side is still missing. Tickets in the kitchen print up items in random order and there is no way to address this in the system. Most other systems have the basis functions to group and prioritize items on tickets for the kitchen and bar printers. You don't realize how important this is until you don't have it on a POS system. There is still no way to offer discounts or accept gift cards online either.

Newbie using Cake pos

Kommentare: We have just added the gift card feature, pleasantly surprised at how well they are selling in just a few days of offering them.
we are getting ready to implement the loyalty rewards, as we are getting many requests for that feature.
And we are taking a leap and implementing the online ordering feature. As we are getting many requests for that option.

Vorteile:

The ease of use. The ability to edit the menu, to make it more user friendly. Our employees have told us, this is the easiest system they have ever used. And they have come from other food establishments.

Nachteile:

At this point in time, we are fairly new users and new to running a coffee shop. We do not have any cons to list.
