Kommentare: Für Webshops nicht zu empfehlen. Fokus liegt hauptsächlich auf Amerika. Viele Intergrationen fehlen und es gibt auch keine externen Anbindungen, so wie dies zum Beispiel bei Shopify der Fall ist. Ich kann Squarespace leider nicht wirklich empfehlen und für den Deutschen Markt nicht wirklich zu gebrauche.

Vorteile:

Designtechnisch sicher gut. Jedoch sieht jedes Template gleich aus und man ist sehr eingeschränkt was Anpassungen anbelangt.

Nachteile:

Es gibt mehr Nachteile als Vorteile. Der Kundensupport ist absolut nicht brauchbar.Datenschutz kann man mit Squarespace nicht umsetzten. So ist es unmöglich einen Kunden zu löschen.

Ich schätze bei Squarespace am meisten, dass ich mit den Design-Einstellungen ganz einfach einen Stil für die gesamte Website festlegen kann.

Nachteile:

Der neue Website Builder gibt zwar mehr flexible Möglichkeiten, jedoch ist diese dann jetzt nicht immer direkt mobil optimiert und mann muss hier etwas nachhelfen.

Vorteile:

Squarespace ist eine meiner Top Websites. Ich kann tolle Websites für wenig Geld erstellen.

Nachteile:

Website-Probephasen laufen ab. Dies ist nicht toll für ein kleines Unternehmen, welches kein Budget hat.

Easy to use features, aesthetic and reactive web design builder, doesn't lag when you use it

Nachteile:

Slightly expensive, but it's worth the money considering the lesser quality of competitors

Kommentare: We couldn’t get things to line up so that everyone sees the same thing. ,We had overlapping appointments , and so much confusion. We ended up asking Athena to make a template simile to the one already used for the Vascular side of the office and that was that.

Vorteile:

It is well known and looks good from the customers POV

Nachteile:

I have worked with many programs and sites over the years. I don’t know why I am finding this one so difficult to navigate and it wasn’t only me but the three others that were working with me to develop the site for a high end spa in N Seattle.

A powerful website building solution

Kommentare: Squarespace has been a strong tool for my photography business. It's allowed me to easily create and update a portfolio website. While there are some customization limits I've been happy with Squarespace overall for years;

Vorteile:

Squarespace offers great design templates, a user-friendly interface, and buit-in, reliable features. Gone are the days of dealing with plugins, updates and other headaches that come with some other tools.

Nachteile:

I've run into some customization limitations, their update to the most current version was far from seamless, requiring customers to rebuild their sites rather than be upgradeable. There are cheaper options out there for sure as well.

Web design for the non tech head

Kommentare: It's been reliable, easy to use and handles custom CSS well. I can't say as a designer that I have enjoyed it, but its certainly easier than trying to think like a web developer.

Vorteile:

I appreciate the simplicity and reliability of Squarespace - and the ability to further extend the product through learning and implementing custom CSS with only basic learning is great.

Nachteile:

It can be frustrating to implement some ideas if it falls outside of the basic template parameters - I think there could be scope for greater customisation without affecting the ease of use, however custom CSS does partly negate this issue. It would be good if it wasn't quite so expensive as well.

Great for a beginner

Vorteile:

I was able to set up my own website in a matter of days (with no prior experience) and can edit and update it whenever it suits me

Nachteile:

It isn’t as universally open to add-ins as some others and I’m told that the subscription is relatively experience for what I get

It is so user friendly and I love the interface and design of Squarespace as well. This obviously also leads to better looking websites, sleeker designs, etc

Nachteile:

I have found certain customizations not as possible. I'm used to using Wordpress for many years and have gotten used to things that are not possible on Squarespace

Kommentare: If you looking for a software that will add aesthetics to your web designs and blogs, with reliable 24hr assistance, then this software is for you. It will need a little more time to be able to work at ease, however, when you do get the hang of it it becomes all worth it.

Vorteile:

If you are looking for a domain which offers scores of options for templates, then this software is for you; as you can create a website that is both reliable and very pleasing to the eye. The price range is also flexible for people who are on a budget, and for people/businesses that are able to afford premium packages, there are added features such as discounts on transaction fees among other great things. Even though the workaround can be overwhelming, Squarespace will provide enough assistance to help you get a hang of things.

Nachteile:

The thing I like the least is that it is not intuitive, you would need a little more work to familiarize yourself with the platform and how it works.

Web design made easy

Kommentare: Amazing! Fantastical! Love this platform. People have tried to get me to switch and I'm like no thank you, not happening.

Vorteile:

It's easy to set up and use. The best thing is I can actually make changes myself. So if I want to upload a blog, and edit a page it's not as difficult as some other platforms out there.

Nachteile:

I don't have any issues with Squarespace.

Value and Simplicity, Meet Beauty!

Kommentare: I have now built over 10 full websites using Squarespace and each one continues to grow my knowledge and stretch my ability. As I aforementioned, you don’t need to be a pro, but if you are, designing an incredible, impactful and don’t miss this, mobile friendly website is simple and easy.

Vorteile:

The best thing about Squarespace is the ability to create gorgeous websites with little to zero experience. You don’t need to be an HTML wizard, but if you happen to be, you can still take full advantage of everything Squarespace has to offer.

Nachteile:

Honestly, it’s hard to say one. For the mid level prosumer, I haven’t found a single better option.

Best in class product by far for several years now

Kommentare: I teach classes on digital marketing and entrepreneurship and ask my students to build a website without coding within a week that looks professional and generate sales from their website. SquareSpace has always helped them build a best in class product. The website we have built quickly to get our companies started have resonated well with investors and everyone always compliments the look and feel of our sites.

Vorteile:

I have used SquareSpace for over 5 years now, using the platform to build a minimum viable product before scaling to custom built websites, to putting up new websites that look extremely professional very quickly. Everyone who looks at the websites are impressed with how they look, not knowing it only took a few minutes to build. They continue to add functionality over the years. They have a great dedication to customer service as well that responds quickly.

Nachteile:

Moving some objects around was not always as intuitive as I thought they could be. If there are a tremendous amounts of data on a screen it may be slower to edit than it always was. Very minor bugs discovered on rare occasions. Just nitpicking, wonderful product.

Easy and Elegant

Kommentare: I love SquareSpace. I would really need to be wowed to switch to another company. This has everything I want (not just need) to create a great first impression

I love how simple it is to create the aesthetic I want to share with the public. The customer support team was so helpful whenever I met a snag in implementation. That hardly ever happened though, because it is so straightforward to create my own website with gorgeous content thanks to SquareSpace and their templates

Nachteile:

There have been a few times where links have broken on my website and it has been challenging to get them reinstated.

Absolutely fine!

Kommentare: I've used this software before and it really helped me with my website in the past. It has some good features and not difficult to use. You pretty much get what you pay for. Also, know that if you are aiming for really professional websites I wouldn't suggest you use Squarespace. But if you just want to set up a decent site in a short amount of time, I would definitely suggest you this software.

Vorteile:

First of all, it is extremely easy to set up websites in no time. It has some cool and modern-looking templates that you might want to consider. It is user-friendly and not much knowledge of coding is required which makes it a good choice for many companies and people. Even though I didn't struggle much with anything whilst using this software, support was always there to help.

Nachteile:

The way that the client can't change a lot, implies that expert clients are restricted and don't have much freedom. Other than the lack of freedom when choosing templates and editing fonts or just the way the website looks, I don't see any other downsides to this software.

Web Design, but make it fun.

Kommentare: I first started using Squarespace under another Photographer, whom I was managing their studio and day to day "to-do's". I took over her website maintenance and blog, to which was surprisingly easy to navigate. I loved how I was able to read analytics and see what content was working and what was not. The sleek layouts made a few easy clicks look like I spent 4 years in web design. So it was really a no brainer when I decided to start my own business; I knew I would be showing my work to the world through Squarespace. There is just something about the designs of these Squarespace websites that look stunningly polished and exceptionally functional.

Vorteile:

As a former user of Wordpress, I found Squarespace to be a breath of fresh air. I've be using it since 2014 and have never looked back. It actually made designing my website and grabbing analytics fun! When navigating the software, it felt like I had been here before. It was so easy to find the tools and customize the fonts and sizing to my preferences. Adding pictures in where I need them is easy and the layouts they offer display my work in such a beautiful fashion that even I'm blown away. All in all, I love this software because it offers so many different themes and customizations without being confusing. It's actually fun and I love that a blog is included with my site. It's like a whole other site to customize and tweak to your taste. I was never a blogger before but now I don't have a choice, Squarespace makes it too easy to make excuses now.

Nachteile:

There are very few things that come to mind when talking about disliking this software. I do wish there was a larger library of fonts readily available for each area of customization, across all themes.

Squarespace is my favorite web design platform as a boutique web designer

Kommentare: I love Squarespace. I've been using it for over 3 years and have been able to quickly produce several websites with it. I'm a little disappointed by how much Squarespace is limited on design, but the tradeoff is worth it with how easy their platform integrates e-commerce, email marketing, scheduling, and inventory management all-in-one.

Vorteile:

Squarespace is clean, sophisticated, modern, easy to use, and has built-in features such as domain purchasing, email marketing, scheduling, and e-commerce that make it easy to run a business. With Squarespace, I can trust that my clients will be able to manage their website 100% by themselves once I finish designing it for them. With other platforms (like Wordpress), I cannot guarantee the same. I also like how transparent Squarespace's pricing and plans are. It's so easy to upgrade or downgrade as your needs change. In Squarespace, I can design a high-quality website extremely fast and share the draft with my clients easily.

Nachteile:

Squarespace is the least flexible of all the web design platforms that I work with in terms of design customization. There are a lot of different types of widgets and ways to display content that simply aren't available on Squarespace because the platform limits what you can change in the design (probably to prevent websites from turning out bad). I've also noticed that Squarespace websites typically load slower than some of the websites I've built on other platforms like Webflow and Duda.

Squarespace gives you web-designer results even if you don't happen to be one.

Kommentare: Overall, I love this product. Everything just works, all the time. No patches, no updates. Easy, easy, easy. And when I made the switch, the actual initial setup of the site took less than a day. Granted the copy was all mostly written, and I was largely just copying and pasting. But still--the whole website was user-ready in a day.

Vorteile:

Squarespace gives a fantastic user experience at every step of the process. Setup is a snap, site design and layout are easy, with a click-and-drag graphical menu system that makes it easy to visualize the overall structure of the site. Page design is super easy, with drag and drop modules that provide a wide range of functionalities. And there is an integrated store and payment system powered by Stripe. I also love the code block module -- this has been super helpful in beginning to integrate our directory functionality into the website. If you know some HTML, this can be a big plus in adding features. The responsiveness is nearly flawless and (almost always) looks exactly the way I want it to, no matter what device I'm using.

Nachteile:

Squarespace does not provide a native file serving solution. Our organization needs to provide documents, forms, and announcements to members. I have created a workaround using Google Drive and a hyperlinked index page on the site, but if I were not already able to use Google Apps script, the maintenance of this index page would be cumbersome. There is also no member-forum type module offered by Squarespace. Again, there are workarounds for this, but it would be nice to have a native solution. Also, the Squarespace calendar module does not integrate with Google Calendar. Once again, I have found a workaround for this using an <iframe> in an HTML code block, but it would be nice if there were native Google Calendar integration offered by Squarespace.

The monthly subscription program is pricey but a less expensive option then what I've used before.

Kommentare: I think squarespace is great. For a non technical user what this provides me with is a very simple and quick way of developing and managing an attractive website with all the functionality needed.

Vorteile:

Squarespace makes designing and managing your website simple. Making edits, implementing redesigns are quick and easy to complete. This was the main reason we switched as we wanted anybody to be able to manage the website with no need for technical web skills.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the way things work are not intuitive, they remain easy, but initially the way to achieve something is not always obvious. Additionally Squarespace in my opinion is not designed for high end, high functionality websites so for some the service may be limited.

Nice software, but fragile and randomly freezes or glitches

Kommentare: Overall it’s a pretty good experience. Although there are glitches and times when it simply freezes for no apparent reason . This can be infuriating, especially after writing a lot of content, and it will not save or update the text (we pay for the gigablast fastest business internet our ISP sells). Sometimes it will save an old draft, not the current one, this makes me want to scream. Sometimes it will delete things I don’t want it to accidentally I’m not sure what the problem is, there needs to be a general undo button. Something that can protect you if the website is glitching or acting nuts..

Vorteile:

The stylish look of the fonts and web design. The styles look professional enough, the competitors looked too childlike or complicated to setup. I also like that you can do most of the editing from the app, not just the laptop.

Nachteile:

What concerns me about this software, is the lack of ownership over all the work put into the website. Software companies these days are becoming political and illogical at times. Although my team and company doesn’t deal with anything political like that, it’s in the back of our mind’s that eventually we will need to break off from Squarespace because they have too much power over our website and servers. All it takes is one new CEO who is ‘Woke’ or a Twitter tweet with no accountability or responsibility, to blow up and a company’s online presence can be severely compromised. Like I said what we do is not even controversial, but We have seen from other marketing firms, weird issues like that concerning square space and competitors. So as time goes on and we become more profitable, the goal is to eventually break away from Square space over lack of control over our own website and servers.
