Great potential

Kommentare: A really good solution with an excellent price compared to many software options. Very easy to use and simple to expand and contract as needed. No huge investments required. A few areas to keep improving. Hopefully the changes can keep up.

Vorteile:

The software is easy to use and full of features. Really well suited to straightforward rentals and a small to medium business. Cloud based makes it excellent from a hardware requirements and access point of view.

Nachteile:

There are areas that need more flexibility especially once you want to move away from the basic to anything more complex. It can be difficult to make it work to your own business rather than as per the original.

The Best Rental Software to date

Vorteile:

I like this software because I find it easy to use and the customer service is very efficient. If I am unsure on how to do something and I contact Current via their online chat, I usually get a response almost straight away. Previous rental softwares that I have used over the years have not had this option and it caused a lot of frustration.

Nachteile:

We do permanent installations which involves a lot of sale items. The process for booking items out are treated the same as rental i.e. book out, check in, finalise check in. It would be good if the system could identify a sale as not requiring check in.

Hi Alison, Thanks for your lovely feedback! Your thoughts around sale items automatically being marked as sold as soon as it's been booked out is very good feedback. When we initially designed this, we allowed check-in for those businesses that put 10 consumable items out on an order, but perhaps only 8 were sold/used and 2 were returned, and this is what the check-in process allows. However, we understand there's lots of businesses that don't want that extra step. I've submitted this to our product management team as a potential development quick win and our team will have a discussion on what's entailed to make this change.

Slow interface and drawn out procedures for simple tasks - 8 months in, looking for alternative

Kommentare: I can't believe the other people posting here are talking about the same product.
The interface and everything about the operation of the software is slow.
Imagine you take three phones from potential new customers who want relatively simple quotes for a 3-5 items and a technician.
Think they're getting them quickly?
No way.
You can't fill in a quote form with new details adding to client contact, organisation and venue lists.
No you're going to spend hours on these quotes navigating around the site adding all three to the separate lists, then link them.
It's so slow, and this is how every part of the system works, everything is separate and you constantly have to move around the clunky interface to do everything before you can do your initial task.
Saving commonly used requests as templates, nah not really, you can hack your own ways to do it by 'cloning' old 'opportunities' but when yu get busy it's real easy to miss out changing some details to the venue remains the old venue or some other mistake.
If I wasn't the co-owner I'd have been fired long ago as if people show up to pick up gear it's so clunking booking it out I mostly don't get around to it, and remember to allocate, prepare and bookout and check it in again, no you can't skip steps, why would anyone do that?
The developers seem more interested in forcing you to use every new tool they create, it honestly seems like they measure usage of components and issue bonuses accordingly. It really seems badly designed on purpose.
Maybe if you move from using a whiteboard based rental system this could seem revolutionary but it's just not.
Yes venting, yes hate it, yes looking around for other options, any feedback other than gushing praise for Current is appreciated.

I hate that lists can only have a handful of entries (like 5) because for each entry Current like to have big icons that take up space that could be used to add two more entries. Want to search current quotes, think 5 per page and clicking very slowly through each page.

Enjoying our experience but room for improvement

Kommentare: Overall we are very happy with current-rms and the few cons are vastly outweighed by the pros of the system. It's a good fit for our company and it's been a pleasure to use for these past ~5 years.

Vorteile:

The UI and UX on current-rms is fantastic and very intuitive. It's very easy for us to onboard new hires onto the system and the support materials and tutorials online are good. It has a good level of functionality for our needs and does almost everything we need to operate our business. The cloud based design is also very convenient and the ability to customize documents within the software ourselves is very appreciated. It is also great to see new features and improvements consistently implemented. It's a joy to use everyday!

Nachteile:

My biggest area of frustration with current-rms are with the inventory checking module and functionality, while it does work it's very bare bones and when we do our annual inventory check it's constantly causing us headaches and we often have to use other tools simultaneously (spreadsheets, documents etc.) to properly keep track of where we are in the inventory check process. The way the inventory module is laid out makes it very difficult to look up the status of a specific item during an inventory check. My other frustration is the lack of custom reports, you can create custom fields and lists of values, however reporting on those is not possible, we had to hire an outside developer to implement a tool via the API in order to achieve the full functionality we needed for our business. The software would be pretty much perfect in my mind if it had a robust inventory checking module and the ability to do custom reporting.

Vorteile:

Ease of use. Licencing is fair in relation to other products.

Nachteile:

Opportunities to invoice needs some work for the hospitality industry as client makes changes very often. New document process is very long winded. Can take up to 6-8weeks to have new documents developed hence we tend to stay away.

Awesome Current RMS Communication

Practical and Helpful CRM for Event Businesses

Vorteile:

I had been looking for an inventory rental software program for years. I found the initial setup a bit confusing as it wasn't something i was use to but i had heaps of support from the team at Current and they were always there to answer any of my questions and they still are!

Nachteile:

Because i direct all of my invoices etc to Xero, I can't generate a balance invoice to send to clients when they pay a deposit which i find annoying. Unless i am unaware, there isn't a pay now button to direct to a credit card payment option

Fantastic RMS System

Kommentare: Overall we are extremely satisfied with Current RMS.

Vorteile:

The system is user friendly, everything is clear, organized and well thought out. Amazing customer service. Current RMS is always improving with new features and updates. Asset management is a key feature we use. Quickbooks and TeamTrack integration have been amazing in creating an efficient workflow.

Nachteile:

Transferring assets between opportunities or long-term rentals are messy to deal with at this time.

One feature that will help a lot

Vorteile:

Well organized and user friendly. Helps us have all information at hand whenever we need it.

Nachteile:

Doesn't have an "undo" button. The number of times we accidentally delete something and we want to go back.

Great AV Rental Program

To change some forms its a little dificult until you get the hang of it.

More Intuitive than Others

Vorteile:

This allows you to do a lot of the things you need all from one screen. It is quick with the scans and organizes effectively.

Nachteile:

A bit of a learning curve. Having to go to separate pages is annoying at times.

A simple to use and effective piece of software, it has helped transform & streamline our operations

Kommentare: Our main benefits are time saving and having everything in one place when previously it was spread across 3 or 4 different packages is fantastic.
Having the ability to access easily makes remote working a lot easier, no need for VPN connections back to the office.

Vorteile:

Easy to set up from scratch and easy to adapt as you go Ability to easily customise and set up your own fields in any area of the system Easy to use & quick to learn Pictorial layout makes sense & looks great CRM & Project integration (Invoicing too but we don't use that feature...yet) Speedy response from technical support Crewing and logistics workflow Ability to access anywhere, anytime from any device Responsive to new ideas and no user hassle to download/update as it is all done for you Linking calendars to mobile devices/other computers/Outlook Ability to download custom views as a csv file Ability to hand on heart recommend it to other people/companies Overall a great product in fairly early stages of life and is improved upon regularly. The support I had during set up was fantastic and some major improvements to the calendar was taken into account and implemented making it much more user friendly (in my opinion). Support is much more responsive than our previous software company and generally its a positive outcome too! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars across the board is that there always ways to improve and for the few cons as below.

Nachteile:

A few well thought out ideas and well supported items on the wishlist that have been on for a long time with no sign of implementation - e.g. moving oustanding items to an existing Opportunity - email templates - choosing optional accessories - Do a deal button Better Outlook integration would be nice No option to choose who can see custom views - only ability to do this at User Role level, not individual User level No way of customising the main Dashboard No real stock check routine

Vorteile:

Flexible and customisable, the system is relatively easy to use . I like age addition of pictures for all equipment and pricing structures.

Nachteile:

Lacking in clear instructions on some of the features, integration with 3rd party crm non existent. Template. Reaction is not automated and takes quite a while for the staff at current to build your templates

Hi Chris, thanks for your feedback on the different areas of Current. In regards to instructions on new features, someone will be in touch shortly to find out whether you're referring to the update messages we send out, or our guides. If it's our guides, we're currently updating these throughout the system. The Discussion template feature is going to be released very shortly. Although we send automated email reminders regarding invoices, we are also looking at the option for customers to reactivate their own system if this cancels due to, for example expiring cards. Lastly, we are also working on the timescale of our free document layout customisation service by putting better processes in place and growing the team so that we can look to increase our turn around time but still ensure the customised layouts we complete are to good standard. However, in busy periods, the turn around time may increase but we try to set expectations upon receiving the first request. Thanks

Best Customer Support

Kommentare: I dry ran 2 other programs. I didn't dry run RMS for very long as it was so visual. If you don't understand something the staff at RMS will ease the pain. If you have staff who hate change then this is the one of the best solutions as it keeps them away from the accounting hassles as well. XERO plugin works well for accountancy purposes only. XERO doesn't do subtotals, and they don't care, so you won't see any of that come across or the descriptions from RMS. Just send all invoices from RMS and statements from XERO and it soon looks like one program.

Vorteile:

You can see the week or month at a glance. Posting to XERO is painless.

Nachteile:

I would like see the sales pipeline for each month available so you can see confirmed orders at a glance for the month

In terms of having the sales pipeline for each month readily available in order to see confirmed orders, you can do this via custom views and set it to show orders within a certain month. Can't live without it

Kommentare: We were looking for software that had great off the shelve functionality that could also allow us to customize in the future if needed. This was 6 months ago, now not only do we have the system to where we want it, being so easy to use we have customized it to automate a whole manor of previous manual tasks such as automated run sheets, bespoke proposals, power consumption calculations, costing automation. Not only this but the wish list system is a great idea and we can see what ideas are in the pipeline for development and progress on ideas that have had the green light. Updates to the system are frequent meaning that functionality is always improving. Love it.... Finally, customer service is impeccable. I have been taught so much but the RMS guys through the web chat. I have pretty much learnt the basis of liquid syntax thanks to them. Response time is always amazing.

Vorteile:

User friendly, clean look and approach.

Nachteile:

Wish the ideas that have green light on the wish list or planned would get released quicker as many are important functionalities.

Great application

Kommentare: I wouldn't be without a booking software after coming from a paper based system.

Vorteile:

Current RMS Keeps track of our up coming bookings and quoting and equipment booked out.

Nachteile:

Have the occasional trouble getting quotes through heavily firewalled company's I.e. Hospitals etc.

Not sure how we coped with our old software!

Kommentare: We moved to Current RMS after being on Rentaldesk Nx for several years. Migration of the data was easy (even allowing for rental desks limitations) The team at current helped me every step of the way.
Tech support is almost instant via a chat icon that's on your dashboard, they have a wishlist so new features are discussed and voted on by the users, allowing for the developers to keep their fingers on the pulse.
In short, I love it....

Vorteile:

Tech support is top notch. With my old software, even with a service contract they made me think I was wasting their time. Also the iCal feeds are amazing

Nachteile:

Can't think of anything. In all honesty.

Excellent product all round

Kommentare: As a company we tested several RM systems and the benchmark was how they compared to CURRENT. Great functionality and easy to use. The service the CURRENT team provide is second to none and very receptive to onward development. The system has allowed us to streamline the rental process and the ability to clone past events is very useful. Being a cloud based system is also useful as staff are able to log in with ease at home and on site. As for price point, you get a premium product for much less then expected.

Vorteile:

Great functionality, support and price.

Nachteile:

We are still trying to find the negative points!

Worth every penny

Kommentare: Working with current has greatly improved our workflow, eliminated all spreadsheets creating a tool our staff is connected too and up to date on every instance.

Vorteile:

1. Its an online software where I don't need to worry about updates and I have access from any machine: phone tablet or desktop 2. The support is Awesome! Always available and ready to help and personal, I know the staff and they remember me. Its obvious that the tech support are very knowledgeable and part of a small team not outsourced!

Nachteile:

We work in Hebrew, (right to left) I would be nice if there was more flexibility for right to left languages like Hebrew ( or Arabic) That being said I was able to set up all the documents I need for my customers in Hebrew, so dealing with an English interface is not a problem.

Clean, beautiful and functional - couldn't run without!

Kommentare: Current makes us a better business - that's true testament to the quality of the product and the genius of their team. Incredible support (best of any supplier) and they have an obvious desire to consistently be awesome, expand the software and ultimately help the end-user. This is the team to back for CRM.

Perfect software solution for my furniture hire company

The customer support and guidance. [sensitive content hidden] has been so helpful, teaching me how to use the systems and personalise it for my business. He is a credit to your company.

Nachteile:

I have been using the automated documents Current RMS produces. I would like to have personalised ones, but there is a 6 week wait.

As a relatively new user, I have found current easy to understand with plenty of help and information available on my journey to fully understand the system.

No dislikes found yet. Seems like a solid product and is popular among more experienced users in the company

Brilliant user-friendly cloud software

Kommentare: If your running a hire business or event production business I would certainly recommend Current RMS... Its a colourful well laid out cloud software you can easily access from your own desktop through a standard web browser or in costa coffee on any other device. You can quickly manage equipment, pull of equipment preparation lists, assign staff to jobs, send invoices to clients and prepare quotations.
There is no complex setting up of servers and the support from Current RMS is superb.
There are constantly adding free updates as suggested and voted by users.
Highly recommended.

Revolutionised the way we work.

Kommentare: Simply put Current RMS has completely changed & modernised the way we do our day to day tasks. Hire stock is maintained more easily, jobs are quicker to input, adjust and raise documents for. It is tailor made to the industry we are in and we wouldn't be without it now. Added bonus is the staff are always on hand to provide support when needed, which thankfully hasn't been too often! Keep up the good work guys :)
