Dadurch, dass der Server weit verbreitet ist und die Kompatibilität nahezu überall gegeben findet man diesen wohl in jeden Unternehmen. Sehr solide, stabil und einfache Updates.
Nachteile:
Echte Hochverfügbarkeit leider nur mit der teuren Enterprise Lizenz.

Kommentare: I do believe that Microsoft has improved dramatically the performance and features of MS-SQL Server in the last decade but still many performance tuning on the algorithmic level (especially in concurrency support) has to be targetted.

I mostly like the integration features that Microsoft worked on hardly to make its Visual Studio IDE seamlessly integrating MS-SQL Server which makes the development process really streamlined and rapid whether using C#.NET, VB.NET, or the Web ASP.NET. The common language platform features in .NET leverages the RDBMS capabilities of MS SQL Server in development and production environments.
Nachteile:
The performance of MS-SQL Server lags with concurrent user access. Concurrency support has to be worked on to better compete with industry leading RDBMSes such as Oracle and DB2. Even MySQL can surpass the performance of MS-SQL Server in many concurrency management configurations.

Even when through the time new technologies emerger to the scene, MS SQL server still be the best option to enterprise solution, due they easy deployment and unified access with MS technologies make even now the best SQL Manager.

Kommentare: My overall experience with SQL would be perfectly described as stable and fluid. There is a huge amount of documentation and communities that helps me solve any issue I encounter with it.
Vorteile:
One of the things I like the most about SQL is the fact that most of my industry works with it, so its easy and convenient to use and gather workflows that suit us and implement them in new projects. Other than that, I haven had any issue with SQL so far. Its robust, is fast, and simply works for every task we use it.
Nachteile:
Maybe this is something general for databases, but we usually struggle with Hardware when working with big SQL databases, since SQL will use everything it has available in the server.

Kommentare: What I liked the most is that Microsoft SQL server offers a "free specialized edition" which I used to test what they actually offered and how good it was.
Vorteile:
Great features, cross-platform, well equiped, a good search/filter system, data secured, and the permissions system seemed pretty secure.
Nachteile:
The pricing is somewhat high, and it would run slow sometimes for no reasons, something that reports and analytics wouldn't show.

Kommentare: I've used this software for over 20 years and I could use it blindfolded. I rely heavily on it and trust it completely.
Vorteile:
It's a hugely powerful piece of software, it's extremely stable, reliable and I don't think any other software would be capable of delivering the same solution

It does have it's faults - the sql query editor can be moody at times, I think the menu structures are needlessly complicated and worded. These are minor gripes

My opinion of Microsoft SQL Server
Kommentare: Quite simply, my experience with SQl-server is perfect. I've been using it for nearly 2 years and it has helped me a lot in my business intelligence project. It's wonderful to use.
Vorteile:
As a relational GBD system, it's the perfect tool for data analysts. It enables users to extract, transform and download the data they need in a matter of seconds.
Nachteile:
it requires more data storage to install the DB engine than other SQL DBs.

Nachteile:
There is not mutch to dislike. Only possible thing would be the price. There are free solutions out there.
Developer Friendly
Kommentare: All companies I worked for had MS SQL Server. I also used it as a database. I have gained a lot of experience especially in creating tables, procedures and jobs.
Vorteile:
We usually use it to keep our own inventory. We chose it because it has a corporate architecture. My favorite features are automatic code completion, creating parts such as tables and indexes without writing code, high level of authorization, multiple users working on the same data, and having a software-friendly interface.
Nachteile:
When I first started coding, I used MS SQL Server as a database. I've been using it for about 15 years. So far, it has never upset me and there is nothing that I dislike.
