Don't Need to Be a Video Production Expert to Make Great Marketing Videos

Kommentare: It has been very positive and was really a self-service platform. I have yet to deal with any person on the customer support side, we purchased the tool and onboarded completely independently and that is a testament to the UX/UI team at Powtoon. It is very straightforward and simple to use right away!

Vorteile:

I liked how straightforward the use of the product was. I created 10-12 videos in a two-week span that were all ~60sec animated videos for usage in video advertising. It was very easy to learn, the platform auto-saves your progress so there's no fear of losing information, and it saves your video in whatever format you require. The templates are typically all I needed for videos, so I didn't have to start from scratch on any of my ideas. It has been a good experience and I will use the tool whenever we need to create a quick animated short!

Nachteile:

The pricing was a bit confusing. We initially signed up for a base tier where we thought we'd have more functionality based on the description. When we got into the system we realized that immediately we'd need to upgrade from "Lite" to "Professional" in order to get the most out of the system and templates. We needed to remove watermarks and unlock key features, so we jumped to Pro. It wasn't outrageous to jump in price, but it was a snag as we had to get the new cost approved again internally.

Unethical Company with an easy to use product

Kommentare: I keep going back and forth with them.. they keep making unneccessary changes and I am always finding myself on the backfoot. As a south african.. i cant afford to pay dollars to upgrade every time they are on a WHIM to change what we can and CAN NOT have as a PRO user. (they literally are forcing you to get pro plus and not all of us can actually afford that)

The product is easy to use, and response on queries is quick

Nachteile:

I find this company to have some ETHICS problems. I have a PRO accoutn. And will create a numbe rof vidoes with different elements using my account. TWO MONTHS LATER i will want to edit something / add a translation.. and my vidoes are UNUSEABLE as they have upgraded some of my features for PRO PLUS users only.. almost forcing me to need to UPGRADE in order to use MY OWN vidoes i created 2 months ago. I find this very unethical. Now i cant redo those videos for my clients (who need some translating done) unless i PAY to upgrade. Its like they force you to upgrade to use a video you created 2 months ago.

Nachteile:

Powtoon has expanded enormously and its use has spread very quickly, which has demanded the need to integrate with third parties to develop greater compatibility with products used in organizations. One of the best forms that Powtoon has adopted is integration through APIs, which guarantees connectivity with multiple existing systems in companies. In addition to that Powtoon is willing to listen to customer needs and constantly increase the number of tested and validated integrations.

A great animation cloud-based software, but kinda expensive

The variety of templates is one of the great features. So, I don't have to create a similar video every time; Each video is unique.

Nachteile:

Well, the pricing. It is super high. Also, faced few issues with the Arabic language during the free trial. Could be fixed by now tho.

Animated videos can be easily created using PowToon

Kommentare: Initially when I started using the platform, the features and functionalities seemed very difficult to understand. Once I understood the same I was able to professional animated videos. The videos made looked like the ones created by an experienced professional.

Vorteile:

Nachteile:

- Much customization is not possible - Downloaded files are heavy - A little expensive

Powtoon is simple, interactive and provides all basic functions for motion graphics to be used as a presentation.

Nachteile:

It's web-based to due which browser got very heavy when working on larger projects.

Kommentare: This software is really good. I am using this to create animated videos for the website or social media .The best thing is the analytics of video tracking. we can track the views and engagement of the video.

Vorteile:

In this software lot of features are available . we can add the music in the video and add text and customize font size of the video, drag and drop feature is also available .

Nachteile:

i do not thing there is anything to dislike about this software.

For animated presentations and inclusive classes

Vorteile:

I was impressed by the animations features for presentations. Useful for educational and business purposes, I think is a tremendous help for students with learning disabilities and people who tends to be shy and anxious during public speaking. The avatar can guide the audience while presenting and the voice can be easily recorded or uploaded by the user.

Nachteile:

I am still improving my skills with the software, but if I might find a "disadvantage" is the many, many possibilities...someone can gets lost. In the free version there is the Powtoon logo and music at the end of your presentation. It can be annoying.

Slick animations

Kommentare: Very good, the content is slick and a good mix of funny and serious

Vorteile:

The templates are great, they have great seasonal templates. The library is a great place to start when looking for inspiration on a presentation or signage campaign

Nachteile:

The price tariffs are a little high, i would purchase the subscription and use it for one month, then cancel. I get all the content i need for the year in one month.

Fun Video Creation Software

Kommentare: We are able to use PowTown to create short, professional-looking videos fairly quickly. It's a great option for an explainer video.

Vorteile:

I like the animated illustrated character options. It's fun to create videos using these characters. I think they make the video more engaging for viewers than a simple text-on-screen video.

Nachteile:

It can be a little tedious to edit videos. There are a lot of feature options, which is great, but it can make it difficult to find the exact spot in the video that you want to edit.

A great tool to create interactive lessons!

Kommentare: In my personal experience, I've enjoyed using the tool to have another option to create amusing and creative lessons. It's effective and simple and it can be used not only by teachers but also by students in many different fields and levels of education, even children can be taught how to create an animation or a video to show in class.

Vorteile:

One of the things I liked the most was the possibility of creating all sorts of scenarios and using them in a pedagogical sense. I enjoyed a lot creating situations to be understood in class and on the other hand many of my students have also created their own animations which makes it even more interesting.

Nachteile:

There are a few drawbacks with this software, for example, some of the functions have the potential to be more user-friendly, and sometimes the transitions are a bit slow, but nothing too serious.

Powtoon for Power Cartoon Graphics

Kommentare: Overall, it is really fun putting crazy ideas to life in this app. The templates save time from creating your own vector graphics and animation, or toying around with other photo or video editing/ creation tools which is very taxing when time is of the essence. The output looks fantastic as it is very smooth and the resolution is really fitting for any setup such as branding of products, personal promotions, and any other creative endeavors.

Vorteile:

This is an outstanding app that I've used and is still using since it has powerful customizable templates for designing cartoon storyline. As opposed to just comic style speech bubble presentation, this brings more life to it than the old school approach. Although it still works, the this new approach works better and provides more life - but most of all, an eye catcher to the social media age of today. I like this app because it provides a lot of customizable templates for characters, backgrounds, props, images, and other elements. All of them are customizable down to changing the character's gender and outfit, sceneries that change as your storyline progresses, moving objects like cars and buses, including other animated elements like traffic lights and blinking lights. In addition, you have several audio to choose from to fit the storyline, and has several zoom/pan effect for added touch.

Nachteile:

In my opinion, your own imagination is the only thing that hinders you from getting into your end product. If you're stuck, you can always do a Google lookup and find ideas from other Powtoon animations to keep you going with your project. As far as loading times are concerned, there is no lag at all even if the elements already stack up.

A great option for creating out of the box presentations

Kommentare: It's been a tool used to provide presentations to my students but at the same time we can give presentations to future clients about important aspects in the company, it's been pretty useful to make the message go through without the traditional slide-style presentation.

Vorteile:

It's a tool that allows every kind of user to interact with elements giving a wide variety of options to make presentations more attractive and with a great quality.

Nachteile:

It seems that there's some lack of customization in some default animations, providing more options to make a more detailed transition or use of a template would result on greater and more professional results

Almost perfect

Kommentare: Overall, Powtoon achieves what it sets out to do. I just wish there were more editing capabilities.

Vorteile:

Powtoon is very easy to learn and the templates are great to get you started. The media library is full of great assets to create a video quickly and the image library is robust. The software is very intuitive and easy to use.

Nachteile:

I am frustrated with the lack of sound editing you can do on Powtoon - for example, you cannot edit voiceovers once you have recorded them. You also cannot add music to the first three slides, you have to add them separtately, which makes continuity an issue. I would love to see a way to expand the timeline so you can edit on a granular level.

I can create my own lesson easy and made my own video or make animation to make the lesson interactive . I can found some resource from the app. and got some ideas to my lesson. I can used the audio to help my students to make practice to speak and listening very well. engaged my students during the class.

Nachteile:

lack of variety in characters. limited animations. lack of support for video files.

What I like the most is that it is intuitive, very easy to use. With this program I learned to make short videos since at the beginning it only allowed videos of 2 minutes maximum

Animated, creative and unique videos to develop your ideas

Kommentare: An educator should always be preparing and never stop studying or preparing. That is why whenever I can take a course I do it in this case it was an elearning course and I was presented with this tool and from that moment on every occasion I can use it I develop my videos through it.

Vorteile:

This tool is great since the environment is very friendly which allows us to devote to the development of the video without worrying about technical difficulties, as well as the possibility of inserting characters, templates and emoticons that allow us to draw the attention of the viewer by remembering that from time to time the viewer loses attention is why we have to find that in that moment that loses attention is also part of our explanation.

Nachteile:

Powtoon is a great tool for creating animated videos, and I also used it to create informative reels and presentation videos for my organization. The Powtoon tool makes video creation a lot easier for me.

Nachteile:

With this software, we are able to create commendable videos for our clients and different organizations. However, I would say it is a bit pricey, although that's okay considering we can use it to create incredible videos.

Once you get the hang of it!

Vorteile:

The resources are constantly evolving - it's like i have a new bag of tricks every time I go to design with it. New layouts, fonts, images, etc. make everything really fun to use and fun for my clients to engage with. It is an easy way to inexpensively produce microlearning - added bonus that its visible without an LMS and can be used on the go. If you are experienced in Adobe Captivate, this design format would be very similar to the layers found in eLearning design - only in video layout.

Nachteile:

I dont like the levels of access they make available. If you pay for it, you should have access to everything. Or, if it's not available for my level, dont put it in my design resources toolbox. I use something in a project only to learn that it's not available to me unless i go "pro".

Animations Made Easy

Powtoon just seems like one of those apps that was made with education in mind. Students enjoy spending time showing what they know through a more interactive and engaging medium. I know I appreciate its simplicity. This speak volumes in education. The templates come in handy and help you guide your creation/video automated actions/figures/characters.

Nachteile:

There isn't a lot to choose from, which I guess makes sense given its simplicity. I just often find students looking for a tad more that they can do. Not to mention there isn't much you can customize as well. A lot is pre-fab.

The best video creating software for beginner!

Kommentare: It is one of the best investments we have made. It is very convenient and a good platform to training as well.

Vorteile:

Very convenient and easy to use. The features help us put our creativity into action with little effort. From explainer to animation, you have pre-set templates you can use. There is an array of music to choose from too. You can put together a decent video within a couple of hours.

Nachteile:

Rendering for larger videos take a very long time, but it is quite usual in most platforms.

Great Value Product

I like that it has lots of built in templates I can use as starters. I really like the explainer video templates. I use this for marketing, social media, paid campaigns, and internal customer support training.

Nachteile:

I wish I could apply branding colors to a template without having to change every element. Then I could flip templates into production-ready products that much faster.

Aside from the obvious reason that PowToon is FREE, I also like that you can create a professional-looking video without all of the headache of learning an in-depth software program. PowToon has several templates to choose from and you can just edit your information/content into the project easily.

Nachteile:

It's a little annoying that you cannot sort through the templates (free vs. paid) and can only see ALL. You think you like a template and it turns out to be a paid upgrade. If you use PowToon enough, you will start to notice other videos/users that use PowToon and that kind of dilutes the quality. You start to see the same recycled template over and over.
