Great alternative to the others for straight-ahead review!

Kommentare: I like Everlaw. It isn't as powerful a search machine as something like Relativity, but the coding presets and keyboard shortcuts are fast! Also, you can (and I did!) contact support directly through the platform - they are responsive and helpful.

Vorteile:

Everlaw is built around the pain points of coding documents in older, more established platforms. The coding presets and keyboard shortcuts scream speed and give you a great review flow.

Nachteile:

This has TOO MANY ISSUE TAGS - from the inbuilt ones to the ones you add, you get oversaturation and tagging for issues becomes meaningless. Also, the search and filter functions are not as robust and somewhat convoluted.

Everlaw Is The Best

Vorteile:

It is user friendly and intuitive. Once you have the basics down, it is very easy to expand on to more complex items.

Nachteile:

Nothing - I love it. It is superior to any other product I have used.

Steep learning curve but useful

Everlaw has a lot of features - you can customize and organize to your heart's content. No shortage or creative options with Everlaw.

Nachteile:

Everlaw can be overwhelming, particularly at first. The learning curve to navigate the program and understand all of its nuances can be steep.

Everlaw Makes Doc Review Fun

Kommentare: Everlaw helps organize documents not just in terms of their importance to the case or responsiveness to discovery, but helps you tell your client's story well.

Vorteile:

By far the best quality of Everlaw is that it makes doc review about as fun as it can be. The smooth interface and the depth of keyboard shortcuts in your review window make it easy to code your docs in a way that almost feels fun.

Nachteile:

The biggest drawback of Everlaw is the expense. $30/GB/month is incredibly expensive for clients, particularly on bigger e-discovery cases. In fact, it's usually cost-prohibitive. It seems Everlaw would be better off lowering the pricing to increase its overall revenues, especially because the cost of storage doesn't come close to approaching $30/GB/month.

Almost perfect

Vorteile:

Everlaw is very intuitive and easy to teach new users how to use. Attorneys love using the Storybuilder feature to create a chronological timeline for the case and to prep for depositions. Another major draw to Everlaw is independence. If there needs to be a production made, we don't have to reach out to a vendor for them to run it. We don't need to tell a vendor what tags to create or the search terms needed to create review batches. With the ECA database, Everlaw is also a pretty cost-conscious option and clients appreciate it.

Nachteile:

There are only a couple of major issues that can cause some hair pulling- One is deduplicating. Identifying and culling duplicates is not always easy and can be rather convoluted. It is also frustrating being unable to search for near-dupes. I hope upgrading their deduplication features and search functions is high on their list. Another issue is versioning. When a document is produced, it creates a whole new document separate from the native. This becomes very clunky and also can cause an issue when trying to keep costs low. It would be much easier if, instead of creating a whole new document, it would create another tab in the review window that would be called "produced" or something along those lines. This also incurs a higher fee. We will use the ECA feature, promote documents for review and production, migrate the work product to the produced document, and then demote the original documents to the ECA database to save on hosting fees. After a production is run, the review project now has 2 of every document produced. If I was running a production on 1GB of data and the resulting production took up 1.5GB, even if I demote the original documents right after the production, we are still billed for 2.5GB even though the originals were only on the review side for maybe an hour after they were produced. This can be very cost heavy when 40GB productions are run.

Amazing, highly professional document management platform

Vorteile:

Hands down, the best features were: 1) provision of the platform free-of-charge for non-profit humanitarian organizations, and 2) excellent customer service to iron out technical challenges. We also found the general features - keyword search, translation, commenting/notes, and document management/organization to be very user friendly.

Nachteile:

It was sometimes confusing and difficult to switch between analytical screens and the documents themselves. Our partners in Sierra Leone found it difficult to access the platform due to bandwidth issues.

Excellent, easy to use

Very easy to use and adaptable to the individual user

Kommentare: Customer Service responds with very detailed instructions for all service requests within an hour, even on the weekends and late at night.

Vorteile:

That it is so easy to customize for quick review based on unique work-style.

Nachteile:

For hit highlights, to see where specific terms are contained within the document, it is only possible to see hits in the Text view, not Image, and sometimes it can be difficult to go between text and image to find hits for search terms. But it is not a significant issue.

First 6 Months

Vorteile:

Once you learn the functions that Everlaw provides, it is invaluable at helping to sort and manage records.

Nachteile:

You really have to learn the intricacies of the software and things are not necessarily intuitive. But when I had to do a big project and really get the help of customer support, I learned the software and became much more comfortable with it. I expect future projects will be much easier as a result.

Legal Professional Point of View

The ease of uploading documents into Everlaw; Storybuilder is great for lawyers to prepare for questioning or trials

not being able to easily move from one metadata field to the next

Processing is Quick and Easy

Kommentare: This program speeds up the amount of time I spend working with documents compared to our older platform.

Vorteile:

One of my favorite features is being able to drag and drop documents from anywhere to load into the database. Makes loading documents a breeze.No more time wasted saving to multiple locations before loading into database. The processing time is quick.

Nachteile:

The layout and view is a little different than the standard ediscovery platforms and takes a little time to get used to it. I don't like that it loads empty container files and makes them part of the database.

Everlaw is the best E-Discovery Tool

Kommentare: Wonderful. Better than any other document management tool that I have used.

Vorteile:

In production heavy cases Everlaw is essential. It streamlines productions, makes searching through hundreds of thousands of pages of documents easy. Has a very powerful AI engine search to help you zero in on only those important documents. The user interface is also very intuitive and easy.

Nachteile:

No major cons at the moment. I switched to Everlaw from a really crappy program that was hard to use, so by comparison this software is a dream.

Vorteile:

Graphic interface, everything is very easy to follow visually. Logic searches are very easy to create.

Nachteile:

It is can be a bit expensive. However, once you utilize its full potential, it is worth what is paid to use the tools.

User Friendly

Kommentare: I like it better than the previous program I've used.

Very easy to use and easily access documents.

Logs me out too soon but that's not a huge deal. Easy to log into.

Great Evolution

Kommentare: In the current world, many cases involve great volumes of data that are infeasible to deal with in the "old" ways, and Everlaw does a great job helping to manage them. Their responsiveness is fantastic -- far better than any other product we have used.

Vorteile:

Our firm has used several similar products over the years, from the earliest electronic deposition product (the name of which I don't even remember anymore) through a series of others, typically as the one we're using seems to stop evolving or no longer fills our needs. We are very pleased with Everlaw, and one of the best things about it is that they are constantly upgrading/revising the application with new capabilities, and always actively solicit user input. They respond quickly to questions or product ideas.

Nachteile:

Very little. I know that the "drafts" section is intended to be a collaborative drafting tools, but it has some limitations, particularly in relation to formatting, that limit its utility. That said, I have conveyed my thoughts to Everlaw and I understand that some upgrades on that front are in development.

Excellent customer service and overall a great product

Kommentare: I use Everlaw to import document productions and to create document productions. I use their Storybuilder feature to create outlines and exhibit lists/binders for depositions, motions, et cetera.

Vorteile:

As a solo practitioner who came from a big law background, I was always used to having an IT department handle all of the work needed to run document productions and manage relativity. As a solo practitioner, I am very happy to have the Everlaw team supporting me when I need them. If something does not work or does not work as expected, they are there to make it work or explain what needs to be done to make it work as expected. The platform is very fast, making the coding of documents lightning fast. I've never had a "hang up" like I did using relativity at my previous firm. The platform is a real pleasure to use.

Nachteile:

Sometimes it can be confusing to structure a query, but that is the case with any platform.

Excellent For Straight-Forward Review Work

Kommentare: Overall, I am very happy deploying the platform to clients who have a solid grasp of technology and like to "get their hands dirty" with a DIY platform.

Vorteile:

The ease of use and quick customer pick-up is wonderful; many aspects are remarkably straight-forward to use; the knowledge base is a phenomenal asset.

Nachteile:

The lack of a quicker upload option for very large datasets, such as a dedicated SFTP option, etc., so larger uploads can take several hours/all day to complete.

Everlaw is a Godsend

Kommentare: I love everyone at Everlaw. They are very helpful and quick to respond. The only downside is the hours for getting assistance. Weekends and earlier hours would be helpful.

Vorteile:

The ease of use which has allowed me to get more buy in from my more mature attorneys, the searching abilities, the ease of production . . . lets be honest, there isn't much I don't like about Everlaw.

Nachteile:

I would like to see a feature to be able to do page and line summaries to deposition transcripts, the ability to do deposition designations, and the ability to issue code the depositions and provide reports for all of these functions.

Everlaw Review

Vorteile:

Everlaw makes reviewing large document productions easy and more efficient. the firm saves a lot of time by using Everlaw for document review because of the search functions.

Nachteile:

There are certain functions that I wish were available but are not currently, such as permanently rotating a document in the review pane, manually organizing the order of documents in a production, and downloading a document with notes and codes.

Call it Foreverlaw, because I’d use it Forever!

Kommentare: It enables me to review thousands of documents in a very short period of time. As a fire lawyer, I often manage hundreds of thousands of documents and this software efficiently allows me to review and understand that massive amount of information.

Vorteile:

The look. It’s clean, it has easily accessible metadata search capabilities, and the document review window just looks great. I also love the outlines on it.

Nachteile:

I think the internal document search feature isn’t great.

Everlaw

Vorteile:

Being able to customise the review pane. Quick upload and export speeds. Ease of use.

Nachteile:

No ability to create a template for a default view for a when a case is loaded.
