Functional and practical AD synchronization
Kommentare: Complete company/group merger project quickly.
Vorteile: Simply Password Sync is an awesome product that just works and has been crucial in ensuring we provide a unified password experience for our customers using our Hosted Exchange and Hosted Lync offerings. The sales and support provided by the GoodWorks team has always been prompt and efficient and it's been a pleasure doing business with them.
Nachteile: UI and documentation can be improved. It wasn't intuitive getting set up initially on our own and support had to guide us through the set up process.

Convoluted but customizable and reliable
Vorteile: In a multi-tenant, single domain Active Directory, we can synchronize passwords with multiple GSuite domains based on email or UPN. It works reliably when configured properly. All issues I have had were either because I misconfigured something, or Google was having service issues.
Nachteile: It is a pain to configure. Configurations are stored in arbitrary fields on Contact and User objects in AD rather than extending the schema. I would have preferred a schema extension with configuration stored on something else...perhaps serviceConnectionPoints? However, it is at least stored in the System container (where it should be). Because I personally setup the software, I now have multiple search results for my name in AD... It does not cause any problems, but it bothers me because I know it is there. There are also some spelling/grammar issues throughout the software, and quite a few of the errors are rather unhelpful.

Mediocre. Simply Sync is not as 'simple' as it is reported to be.
Kommentare: Very little at this point.
Vorteile: The cost of Simply Sync is one of the main reasons we went with the product. This is the only pro we can see right now.
1. Synchronization event is based on end-user changing their password. new users are not created or synchronized on target when created on source.
2. When users are synchronized with the target they are not placed in the correct OUs on the target. A lot of our users were placed in a root OU.

We appreciate the feedback and comments. We would like to note that it may have been some time since the client has installed Simply Sync and there has been upgraded versions that addressed the concerns described. Simply Sync is no longer only event based. All user and password synchronizations can be initiated by the Admin. Also, user mapping has been very stable in recent versions.
