Great For Those With Little Experience

Kommentare: Overall, this would be my go-to platform to build a fast and easy website for any friends who need something great looking but manageable with little experience or learning curve.

Vorteile:

The best thing about Weebly is the simplicity of building a very professional looking website with little or no site-building experience. If WordPress is out of reach for you but you need a solid professiona looking site for your small business, Weebly is the way to go. I built several websites for other companies in the past using this platform with the idea that they can then manage it themselves without any technical knowledge. This was the perfect platform for this and among other similar platforms definitely seemed to be the easiest to use.

Nachteile:

There definitely is a ceiling of what you can do with this platform. From there you will want to move to something more advanced like WordPress. This isn't necessarily a knock on Weebly though, they never designed it to be a WordPress rival in general.

Kommentare: Positive overall, from the perspective of a relatively confident graphic designer able to create and manipulate graphics to add hero images / vectors to pages. Without a really good licensed image library, you might find it a struggle to create a unique and attractive website, but that's part of the challenge and where the satisfaction comes from; creating a beautiful website shouldn't be a piece of cake - you should expect to have to work (a little) at it!

Vorteile:

Very intuitive and simple to achieve a reasonable level of professionalism with limited graphic design skill. Handy features for e-commerce, shipping settings allow tax and weight customisation based on territory. For simple content-based website, pretty quick and satisfying to use.

Nachteile:

For more detailed product / brand shops, can be a little clunky to upload and customise new products, and has limited functionality in terms of sub-menus for product categories, with some layouts being very limited without being able to create custom code. Shipping costs can be confused, with items inheriting the wrong cost leading to an expensive overseas order (*this happened once).

There are no real advantages to using Weebly

Kommentare: Overall Weebly was a good introduction to web design but I wouldn't recommend anyone using it long term. Play around with it if you must. But there are so many better alternatives - your time would be better spent learning to build on WP.

Vorteile:

It's relatively easy to use for someone who's never built a website before. Also, the pricing is budget-friendly.

Nachteile:

It feels really clunky and old fashioned.. it's so glitchy. Often doing something simple like adding a header takes 1-2 minutes. It's just not worth the hassle compared to other web builders. Also the ability to customize the designs is really limited and the support is total rubbish, don't even bother trying to contact them.

Square bought them and has really made it much harder to access my sites. Square needs to understand they process payments. Weebly creates websites. The only time they need each other is if there are products to sell or donations to collect Dear Squsre. Leave Weebly alone please

Weebly is a effective platform for building and managing a website without web development knowledge or experience. The system is simple to use and the learning curve is not onerous.

Nachteile:

While Weebly offers numerous plug-ins to enhance website, the features of the plug-ins tend to be limited particularly for editing.

Easy to use

What I liked most about Weebly is how easy it made everything. I'm not a tech expert, but I was able to build and customize my website without feeling overwhelmed. I like that Weebly is a step by step process that is easy to use and understand to set up my small business website. There are many themes to choose from.

There is a little difficulty switching back and forth to the mobile application.

Better than other website builders

Kommentare: I've been using this website builder for over 4 years and it's been with me (and my business) through many different phases. It's easy to update and change the theme, layout and overall look. So when as my business grows, my website is able to grow with me.

Vorteile:

My favorite thing about this website builder is the FREE option. I don't have to make any quick decision or deal with trail dates that make me feel rushed into committing to it. It's very user friendly and makes it easy to create a truly personalized website. I love that they have an on website store front option too. Keeps everything nicely organized in one easy to use place. I've been using this builder for well over 4 years now (from personal blogs to business pages) and I've had 0 issues so far. This website builder is on the same level as many other, more expensive, website builders.

Nachteile:

I haven't ever had any issues with this software so I can't really say much about cons. Everything you need is easily accessible and affordably priced.

Weebly is an incredible option for building beautiful websites!

I have built several websites with Weebly and other competitors. Here's what I like most about Weebly: - It's incredibly easy to use! Weebly offers a drag and drop interface that anyone can get the hang of using. - Reliable and error free - I've rarely experienced loading/saving errors. It's a reliable platform. - Weebly comes loaded with a variety of editable templates to choose from. - No advanced coding skills are needed, bit there is room for that if you have that skillset. - Pricing is among the best - even the free version is great. - There are great tutorials if you find yourself lost or needing help. - I think it's great for using with students It's a great introduction platform for students in website design. The blog design is a great option for students.

Nachteile:

There's little to complain about with Weebly in my opinion, but know your purpose or intentions. If you want to build advanced sites with lots of content or sites that require passwords or money transfers, it may be beneficial to look at other platforms. You are somewhat limited with what you can do/create or the analytics you can track/collect.

Great for beginners, business owners, or hobbyists

The software is very easy to use. I literally built Weebly websites when I was about 10 years old, before I knew a lick of HTML. I've since used it to build several unused sites and a couple of active ones. I have one up now that's for a liquor store my parents own, and since they didn't need anything fancy they were able to save hundreds if not thousands on making their website by simply having me do it easily on Weebly.

Nachteile:

I would recommend sticking with Weebly as your webhosting service if you're going to build the site here because they really don't make it easy to integrate with a separate web hosting service. I also question the dynamic capabilities of Weebly's site builder without usage of manual JS code. I haven't looked much into the paid plug-ins, though, so if that's what people are using then it may be possible.

Great product once you get past the learning curve

Nachteile:

Like any other software, it takes some time to get to know how it works and to be effective and efficient using the product. This is key for someone, like myself, who provides web design servicess through a consulting capacity.

Had a website up and running in 1 hour!

Kommentare: When starting my business, I was looking at different website creation tools. On Weebly's first page, I saw a template that I liked and, since I didn't want to go down the rabbit hole of choosing from thousands of templates, I went with Weebly. I also liked that you can port your website to another platform if you want to leave Weebly. But after 5 years, I'm still with Weebly. I'm not a tech genius, but I can make changes to the site myself and it doesn't take much time to figure out what I need to do to make the site look the way I want. Seriously, after signing on with Weebly, I had a basic site up and running in one hour!

Vorteile:

I love that Weebly is easy to use and doesn't confuse me with a million different options.

Nachteile:

Mailchimp doesn't integrate well with Weebly, so this can cause some issues. There are limitations with popups and forms, so that can be a bit of an issue, but I've made it work.

Consistently professional looking websites

Kommentare: I manage the content on a drupal site for my college. I occasionally need a micro-site for an event or a specific campaign, or I'll need a short term blog. I turn to weebly because it's fast and easy for me to build and align with our main website. I've developed a few sites that are now moderated and updated by faculty--non-techy folks who are not intimidated by the interface. So Weebly becomes a time-saver for me!

Vorteile:

Ease of use! The drag and drop interface makes creating webpages flow easily from a sketch to online reality. I use the blogging features the most. By limiting some of the layout possibilities, Weebly ensures your site will look professional. With the ability to add html segments, I find I can easily mount a rather complex site in a relatively short amount of time.

Nachteile:

Although I see it as a plus now, I was a bit frustrated by the limitations on exact spacing and layout. Sometimes I wish I could move an element just a few pixels! Generally this is minor. And it certainly helps for people who are uncertain about design choices.

Decent themes and clear editor

Kommentare: As an online web builder and e-commerce tool Weebly is simple, yet powerful to build nice sites which perform well. We needed a simple tool and a nice design/theme and after extensive evaluation we choose Weebly.

Vorteile:

The themes supplied by Weebly are decent and do not look like the rest of online web building tools. They are really clean and the user interface for editing the site is super simple to use.

Nachteile:

Occasionally the editor gets a bit slow.

Who knew WEEBLY would keep us in business?

Kommentare: Overall, WEEBLY has been a lifesaver for us. The customer support has been really helpful, and usually solved our issues immediately. Our business will probably include online ordering through WEEBLY even after things settle down. It has helped streamline a lot of larger orders and helped create a more sustainable version of what we do.

Vorteile:

We have grown VERY familiar with WEEBLY since the COVID-19 pandemic began. We use Square POS for our coffee shop, and WEEBLY is directly integrated with the online side of Square. We were very early adopters of WEEBLY, and initially had to sort of hack many of the features to make it do what we wanted to. WEEBLY has made accepting online orders - which was previously a very daunting idea - very easy. WEEBLY integrated perfectly with our Square system, and allowed us to use our current item library from Square for an easy online ordering system. It prints to paper printers our iPad digital printers, and helped streamline online orders at a crucial time in our business, where most of our sales were going through WEEBLY.

Nachteile:

Sometimes WEEBLY will freeze up and create a spinning circle during checkout. This has created some issues for customers trying to order from us but end up giving up after waiting 15 minutes for it to load. It has gotten better as more people have adopted it during the COVID-19 pandemic. One more problem! If you decide to add items INSIDE Weebly instead of Square, it won't add any of the default taxes. We've sold items for weeks without charging tax and didn't notice until later. Just keep an eye out for that when creating items inside the Weebly back end.

Good website builder for small platforms

We recommend Weebly to many of our small clients as for small companies that are starting their e-commerce business is not overwhelming and it is very easy to set up and use.It offers many features that allow you to customize your online store and some of the features are drag and drop so basically you need no effort or big knowledge on building websites.For the website layout, they do offer a great variety of templates that are nice and customizable. You will surely find one that reflects your industry or your style.  The tools to manage the inventory and to process payments are good. Supports stripe and paypal My favorite feature of Weebly is the feature of the membership getaway, that allows you to give access to some pages just to register members.

Nachteile:

Their strength is the simplicity, but it can become a limit when you are trying to grow your e-commerce as you might need other features that weebly do not offer as a base. Templates are nice and have been improved in quantity/quality lately but it is still a bit behind from other similar platforms

Excellent for the price

I was then able to easily scale by upgrading my site with more pages, advanced eCommerce features, and a custom domain by upgrading to a paid plan. The support and documentation were also excellent in resolving any issues or concerns. Nachteile:

What I liked least was the limited code customization. Although the visual editor covers most needs, experienced web developers miss the ability to inject custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to create completely unique designs. However, I understand that this goes against Weebly's no-code approach to allowing anyone to create a professional website

Weebly has been ranked as the easiest website builder recommended by most of the web consultants. Weebly offers all basic tools that you can use for building a website or store from scratch. Weebly’s collection of templates now includes a great choice of on-trend mobile-responsive designs. Unlike Wix and Shopify Plus it lets you download the full code to your website, so you can customize it or even download it. Weebly also offers over 40 pre-designed templates to help you get started. The layouts to every type of page can be found. Weebly also enables the user to add and install more apps for your use. Weebly also lets you create a fully customizable club to which you have full control.

Nachteile:

When using weebly’s drag and drop customization we found it to be very limited. If you use weebly after using Wix or SquareSpace you will find it’s drag and drop customization very limited. On the case releasing new features weebly has been very slow . They just upgrade two or so features in a year but now they have picked up the pace. But they are still focusing on the cutting edge technologies, rather than that they should focus on improving the friendly user. Another tiny feature that my colleague pointed out was that the blogging tools need to be improved in a very little sense but it causes a lot. The feature is that you cannot highlight or show you most recent or most popular posts first. We have sent them a message and their response time was very fast.

We see with deep concern that this software greatly complicates the possibility of migrating information to other blogs. We observe this when we collaborate with other colleagues who work in the area of culture, who ask us for content on some research carried out, or with journalists who ask for extracts from the researches and events we carry out to make their news reviews. It is very difficult to migrate this information and we have to use other methods to socialize the information we are asked to provide.

Weebly I like it a lot mainly because it is a tool for designing web pages that is really easy to use, because in its interface you can see templates organized in different sectors and although not many are offered, they are of quality and they are organized so that it is much more simple to handle the search of the one that is considered appropriate to represent the website that you want to design, on the other hand it is magnificent that provides the power to visualize in advance how the website could be seen with the different templates, besides this tool saves the tedious work of having to look for the page to adapt to different devices because in an automated way the pages are optimized so that when visualizing in said devices they do not see in an inadequate way.

Nachteile:

One of the things that bother me the most is that Weebly does not provide its users with backups of the websites, so it is quite tedious in case there is a very drastic change in the site or if for some reason the database is altered the website will be lost.

A very helpful, easy and affordable website builder.

Kommentare: Weebly was one of the software that I started using in building websites for my business. It is just what people with limited technical skills need when it comes to manifesting their business online. I found it very easy to use and versatile. However over the years it has become outdated and in order to keep up with prevailing trends, I had to migrate to other software such as Wix .

Vorteile:

The first and most attractive feature that I found on Weebly is how it provides a generous free plan. I found it to provide a satisfactory array of features. The user interface is highly reliable and offers an option to drag and drop new elements on a page which you can click to edit settings. Weebly offers a wide selection and flexibility of design templates together with stylish themes with different page layouts for different uses. I love how it offers unlimited levels of navigation hierarchy and on top of this, the software supports large site structures. Weebly is also convenient in that image galleries, video and music players and other gadgets are all included in the editor. In addition to this, there are a number of useful applications such as tables, calendars and social media widgets and it allows the use of external widgets and tools which is highly advantageous. Lastly, Weebly offers excellent support be it chat or email. The softwares knowledge base answers a lot of questions through comprehensible tutorials and step by step guides.

Nachteile:

Over the years, there haven't been many if not any updates, no new templates have been added in a while to the software thus making it outdated. The software offers limited customization and I have found the classic editor to be quite laggy. In spite of the software coming in a number of languages, non English characters are not supported. Lastly, I really believe that an undo button would be very useful as there is no way to recover deleted content such as text and images.
