Great Program for Schools

Kommentare: SignUp Genius has been a tremendous asset for our school. We use it both for school events and for our parent organization, and it has been a great resource for coordinating volunteers and planning events. Some examples have included scheduling regular volunteers for single events, coordinating larger events (ex: Oktoberfest) which require a large number of volunteers serving in different capacities at different times, and allowing parents to sign up for parent teacher conference time slots. We've been very pleased that this has been a time saver for our school.

Vorteile:

SignUp Genius is a must-have for schools. Multiple design options allow us to customize sign-ups for a wide variety of events - from Parent- Teacher conferences, to coordinating parent volunteers, to planning community events. Flexible scheduling variables allow for a broad range of events - from volunteers at a single event, to on-going events. Easy to use and adapt to each unique event. This also allows you to easily copy or duplicate a past event, which is very helpful with events that happen monthly or yearly.

Nachteile:

It would be helpful if there was an easy way within the platform for volunteers to access multiple sign-ups that we have created at one time. We currently have to collect individual signup links and share them- but it would be useful to have a landing page for our organization where we could collect multiple events in one easy place.

Great tool for volunteer registration and engagement

Kommentare: It's a great tool when recruiting groups for an event. It keeps track of who is scheduled for which shift, if there are more than one, and provides reminders to volunteers in intervals--one week out, 2 days out and day-of. If you need to organize a group for a team effort, SignUp Genius makes it very easy to do.

Vorteile:

I really like the ease of use for my volunteers to sign up. I work with a lot of volunteers that are retired and don't spend lots of time on the computer, and it's very easy for them to sign up. They like that they don't have to create an account or provide any other information to sign up beyond their email address for reminders. We source volunteers about 14-16 times per year, and this helps that process to happen seamlessly every time.

Nachteile:

The ads. At the end when volunteers sign up, they are bombarded with these pop up adds for various vendors. Once you close the window, another pops up and then another and another. You have to click through 3 or 4 before it goes away. Not a fan.

Great platform for non-tech people

Kommentare: SignUpGenius has been such a game changer in setting up activities for volunteers, donations for events, and more. I love it.

Vorteile:

I like that it is free and easy to use as someone that is not a coder.

Nachteile:

I wish it worked a little better on my phone.

Great For Organizing Contributions to an Activity. Free Plan Could Use a Facelift

It helps organize events for my kids' school's activities and helps everyone stay on the same page for donations and contributions to an activity

Nachteile:

The free plan view is simply an eyesore. I wish they could create a more user-friendly free template that did not feel as distracting and "busy". Other than that, I think it's a great tool!

Hassle free scheduling

Vorteile:

It made life so much easier with scheduling. i just have to put in the time slots and voila!

Nachteile:

a choice of option for 'more than 2' slots would have been better, probably?

Great for Non-Profits

Kommentare: Overall it's a great tool that any organization that uses sign ups. It can accommodate a lot of different types of signups which makes it very flexible. I would definitely recommend.

Vorteile:

Our not for profit group had endless issues with volunteer tracking and recruiting. We'd use spreadsheets and word documents and it was just painful. So we started using SUG and many of our issues went away. The single best thing is that it is simple for our volunteers to sign up which is the most important thing. Our admin was also able to learn it fairly easily.

Nachteile:

The free version has lots of ads so that is somewhat annoying. But the biggest weakness of SUG is the user interface. It's very old and antiquated. This isn't a huge negative but something I think the company could fix if they tried.

Easy to use and convenient for group participation

Kommentare: It is solving business problems like knowing who and what tasks are assigned to individuals when we are seeking volunteers for programs and events.

Vorteile:

I liked that you can create categories for others to sign up and you can see where you signed up, in case yo forgot what you signed up for.

Nachteile:

It wasn't the software, but some users do not know how to create categories so it makes it difficult for individuals to sign up for various tasks, Perhaps, examples of how people can use it might be helpful to those that are building sign up tasks.

Makes signing up for activities easy!

Vorteile:

I like that I can create a sign up form online for people to access. It makes signing up workers for carnivals or other events much easier.

Nachteile:

I'd like to be able to use it for people to save the date for something, such as a work schedule. From what I have used the program for so far, I only see a way to set up an event or activity for parents to sign up to work.

Sign Up Genius for Volunteers

Kommentare: This program has dramatically increased our parent volunteers. When I first started at our organization 8 years ago we would struggle to get one or two parents to show up to help. We are now having 10-15 or more sign up to help!

Vorteile:

We love this program! We are able to customize, edit, and send our signups easily and we have increased our parent volunteers more than double.

Nachteile:

There are some pricier options for customization that we would love to use but are out of budget for our organization right now. The free options are just as nice though.

Nachteile:

Cannot delete users from a signup. For me, this is a major design flaw. As a business, I don't understand why signup genius does not have a functionality for deleting users' access to signups. Even though there is a delete function, it is misleading in that users still have the ability to access signups even when they are supposedly "deleted" by accessing through their initial e-mail invite. Customer Service's response is that in order to deny access, new signups need to be created that are not accessible by "old" users. Well, this is much easier said than done. I don't want to be managing multiple signups. I use one signup as a dynamic scheduling tool for users coming on and off our schedule. Having multiple schedules targeted towards different user groups is an extremely cumbersome solution, requiring managing schedules over multiple signups- way too complicated. As a result, to me this is a major privacy issue in that unwanted users now have access to a signup, even though they are supposedly "deleted". I don't understand why Signup Genius allows this, unless they are marketing to all potential users and never want to lose the Personal Information.

Easy to Use and have other participate!

Kommentare: Overall, my experience with SignUpGenius has been great! I am a user for both my personal life and for work, and I think that it is a great resource that is customizable to fit several social and work environments. It is my go-to tool if you're wanting several parties to participate and list or "sign up" for something. It keeps all items together and organized for you so you can quickly determine what is still needed. Recommended, for sure! I would be surprised if you HAVEN'T seen this is your social or work circle yet.

Vorteile:

The thing I like most about this software is how easy it is to plan a company Potluck, or School Party Day, or Church Small Groups Meeting. Everyone who is sent a link can easily access the event and determine how they would like to participate. For example, for a Company Potluck you have the option of setting up specific foods or non specific foods, how many of each is needed, or schedule time slots. You have so many different options to customize your event, its great! Everyone logged on can easily see what item needs have been met and what items are still needed. Think past food! Organizational Tool! You can also use this for Nonprofit Organizations, supplies or items that are needed. Anyone that would like to participate can easily input what they will be bringing or what they can offer to help the project!

Nachteile:

I have not run into any situations that I did not particularly like with this software, if I'm being honest. I think it gets the job done perfectly fine. I have not tried messing with maybe going OVER the number of items requested. For example if 30 tissue boxes are needed for a classroom and several participants have committed to bringing 30 tissue boxes, I wonder if someone tried to add an additional 5 boxes, if it would give them a hard time. Not sure if this would be a situation anyone would run into, but just a thought. Again, I have not run into any issues, thankfully!

The Ultimate Organization Tool

Kommentare: Connecting with families has never been more difficult and this tool optimizes everyone's time by being efficient and reducing the amount of time that we need to send and collect information.

Vorteile:

For a long time, our program not only struggled to get volunteers for events, but struggled to reach the volunteers to give them information about an event. We tried manually e-mailed, paper sign up copies, giant bulletin boards in the hallway, and it seemed as though we always missed people. It also left a lot of leg work for us. Enter SignUpGenius! The best part about the website is that its EASY to navigate and it is so fast to create a sign up for an event. You essentially write a small blurb about the event and then choose the template that best meets the needs of your event--whether it is one day or more, one-time slot of several and the number of volunteers. Then, you can either upload your contacts to their website, or create a link that you can send out. We use SignUpGenius for every event! It sends the admin e-mails when someone has signed up so that you can keep track of how your doing. The very BEST feature is that it automatically sends out a reminder about the event to everyone who has signed up. This has saved us more hours than I can count! After the event is over, it archives it so you still have the information to refer too.

Nachteile:

There is very little that I dislike about SignUpGenius and most of it is just more annoying than anything. While SignUpGenius is free for users, they do have a "Pro" edition that you can choose to pay for. This includes photos to use for your event posting or specific additional features. If you click on them accidentally, it will prompt you to sign up for the Pro edition. Not a big deal, just a nuisance, and sometimes its uncertain as to why these are paid features.

I use it for all my events!

Kommentare: Overall, this has been a great way to manage my events from trainings to pot lucks!

Vorteile:

As a training manager, I'm constantly advertising new events and having to track sign ups and attendance for each of them - which is where SignUp Genius really comes in handy. I have used both a paid for version and the free version of SignUp Genius, both have done exactly what I've needed them to do and I choose to continue to use it over other sign up software. I love that I can create a simple sign up, send out the link in my advertisements for sessions, and I immediately get emails the moment anyone signs up. I love this feature the most. I don't have to constantly log back in and check the sign up to send calendar invites, it automatically lets me know. I can even incorporate an additional question to ask regarding the topic of the training to collect questions and feedback for my presenters before the session to help guide their approach.

Nachteile:

This has become common use at our institution, but when it was just rolling out, we started using the function of sending out emails through SignUp Genius and they often had sign ups go to junk mail or with a warning of an unrecognized sender. That was an issue, however, we now send the emails ourselves and just include the link to the sign up and that works best for us.

Affordable Option for Small Nonprofits

Kommentare: My overall experience is good, with the limitations mentioned before. It's free, so I'll continue to use it. In terms of signing up for events works great and the communication piece with people who signup for something as well.

Vorteile:

I like that I can use it for free. It has a premium version, but you can still use the free version and its' good enough to use for volunteer management. This is specially helpful for grassroots nonprofits like the one I work for. The free version also includes some reporting tools and communication features.

Nachteile:

I keep hearing about integrations with donor databases, but at least with Bloomerang, the one we use, it's very limited. I'd like to manage volunteers entirely with one software, but if you want to keep track of your volunteers hours and have their profile updated then you have to switch to another database management software.

Great tool for organizing and scheduling groups

Vorteile:

Really great for organizing groups. For instance, I use it often to have people sign up to bring items to an event. It's also great if you have an event and want to sign people up to be in charge of specific things at specific times during an event. For instance, if you want someone to man a table for a specific shift. It is very easy for the participant to sign up and the organizer to manage.

Nachteile:

It can be time consuming to get all the email addresses into the software. It doesn't sync easily with a contact group in google, so you end up typing in a lot of email addresses. Once it's set up though, it works great.

Does the job!

Kommentare: We use SignUpGenius to organize and coordinate volunteers. Volunteers can click on the link and are taken to a form where they can sign-up for a time slot or to bring something to an event. They'll also be able to see what other volunteers have sign-up for, which is very helpful!

Vorteile:

SignUpGenius is a great tool for coordinating volunteers. As a free software, it's great and incredibly useful. It comes with many templates and features. It takes some time to figure out how to make your sign-up look like you want it to, but then you are good to go. One of the great features of SignUpGenius is that is will email your volunteers in advance to remind them of their commitment. This is great because it takes following-up with and reminding volunteers off your plate and does that for you!

Nachteile:

It does take a little time to figure it out at first. You can't sign-on for your first time and expect to have a sign-up ready to go in minutes. Also, some people speak of this as a lifesaver or game-changer when it comes to getting volunteers. That hasn't been my experience. It makes organizing volunteers and coordinating them easier, but it isn't going to bring them in as easily as some people might claim.

Super convenient and easy!

Kommentare: I love it! It has made event coordinating so easy and simple and is very user-friendly. Making a sign-up is quick, and having a link created instantaneously is incredibly helpful.

Vorteile:

Any time I need to coordinate volunteers for an event, I'm able to access SignUpGenius and create a sign-up in just minutes. The option to customize the theme is great for the range of events that I coordinate.

Nachteile:

I do wish there was a way to look at a list of all of the sign-ups as well as their private comments that they provided when signing up instead of having to go to my email and find the confirmation for each person.

Easy Scheduler

Kommentare: I have used SignUpGenius for a plethora of things like scheduling meetings to scheduling shifts for volunteer work. It really is easy to use and there is no learning curve. For those who like using Google, I think this is a better alternative, honestly.

Vorteile:

SignUpGenius is practically foolproof when it comes to using. It makes scheduling things really easy and allows other people to see slots that are already filled up. The transparency of this site is definitely its best feature.

Nachteile:

The only complaint I have about SignUpGenius, and this is just me being picky, is the fact that you have to login to use it anytime someone sends a schedule out. However, this could actually be quite the positive aspect because it allows you to keep track of your scheduled appointments/meetings. With that said, I suppose there aren't any "real" cons.

SignUpGenius was a good find.

Kommentare: I've only used it one year, but I do like it and I feel like I will use it in the future for Parent-Teacher Conferences and parties. Parties are especially hard because you get a lot of duplicate items. This website will definitely alleviate this problem.

Vorteile:

I learned about the website from a colleague. Her son's teacher used it at a different school to help for signing up for party items. I like that you can send parents a link and they can see what times are still available. This was especially helpful this year with the pandemic because we didn't have our normal Back to School Night. During this night parents would sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences. I really enjoyed the convenience of it and it made it easy to see who had signed up and who still needed to.

Nachteile:

I did run into problems with some of the scheduling. I had a couple parents sign up, but I wasn't notified by email and it didn't show up on my schedule. They brought the confirmation that they got, but it didn't show up on my end. This made it hard to keep paperwork organized and be prepared.

Powerful But Bad Design

Kommentare: I have to use SignUpGenius because it is the most used event planning product in my area. I would gladly switch to another product if there was one that was better designed and easier to use.

Vorteile:

SignUpGenius handles many different types of event planning, and it is a helpful tool that most people are used to using. When you have an account, signing up becomes easy, and latest features notify and link to your calendars. This makes committing to new events easier and streamlined. The most important features are also free.

Nachteile:

Out of all the calendar sites, SignUpGenius has the most outdated and clunky designs. There are so many buttons to press and very little is automated. With a design overhaul that features ease-of-use, this product could make great advances. Even the wallpaper options are out of date and silly.

Simple, Easy, and Really Quite Genius

Kommentare: My graduate school coordinator uses this for everything from orientation times to graduate assistant assignments to signing up for classes. Our 100 person program is able to exist thanks to SignUpGenius. I can't think of a better program that could accomplish the wide range of possibilities that this can.

Vorteile:

I like that when other users respond, SignUp Genius updates and every other invitee can also see the updates. For example, when sending out RSVPs, everyone has the ability to see everyone else who has RSVP'd. It's a very easy app for taking polls for certain time slots. It is also great if you need just a quick one question response or a detailed, multi-step poll. As a user, I appreciate that it is quick and easily shows up in my inbox. Additionally, I don't receive spam messages from them after taking a survey!! This is so important. I didn't sign up for promo messages, so I don't want to receive them automatically. This program finally gets it. Finally, the ability to send out reminders is a great function. It's easy to set up ahead of time for the SignUp creator. I also love that it sends the event to my calendar!! It's just great for both ends of the SignUp request... I would highly recommend.

Nachteile:

I don't have too many complaints, except that sometimes the visibility is limited on the mobile app. Really, I highly recommend this software and can't think of too many negatives haha.

Makes Getting Volunteers a Breeze!

Kommentare: While ads are annoying and the design is less than appealing, SignUpGenius is incredibly helpful for digitally organizing volunteer opportunities and sign-ups!

Vorteile:

I was first introduced to SingUpGenius when I was working a full time job in marketing. We were required to find volunteers for events and SignUpGenius made that so easy. We used it in online marketing and were able to fill volunteer positions ever single time we used it! SUP makes it easy for both the company needing volunteers/sign-ups but also the people on the other end volunteering or offering their time! I've personally had good experiences on either end of the program.

Nachteile:

The biggest "Con" I can think of is that sometimes the program, when you hook it up to your digital calendar (I use Google), will add the events multiple times when you are on the "user" end of the program. On the "owner" end of the program, I have not come across issues. This is a silly "con" but the design is rather obnoxious and doesn't look very professional especially if you are trying to use it for business purposes.

SigUpGenius for Volunteer Firefighters

Vorteile:

We use online sign-up sheets for a volunteer fire department with over 100 firefighters assigned to five different stations. Most of us have full-time jobs outside of being firefighters, so finding a way to coordinate activities in a fair and consistent way was time consuming and quite challenging. Online sign-up sheets from SignUpGenius streamlined our process, while making it very easy for our firefighters to use. We post a sign-up sheet electronically ,and it is instantly available to everyone. At the same time, one person can manage the sheets remotely, so it eliminated the need for paper sheets and multiple trips to stations to post, review, and collect those sheets.

Nachteile:

What's not to like about the capabilities of this way of doing online sign-up sheets? The creators of Sign Up Genius built a product that takes a complicated process and makes it a smooth operation. It is so easy to use that there is seldom a need to ask for help. Then the friendly folks at Sign Up Genius are lightning fast to response on the rare occasions when you need help.

Great way to track an event

Kommentare: Positive - my time tracking an event is greatly diminished with the help of this program.

Vorteile:

I've had experiencing using this program for school functions. I've been invited to access an event through SignUpGenius to take part in an event, but also used it to track my own event. Rather than trying to write a list of people and items they would provide for the event or a time slot they wanted to choose, SignUpGenius allows you to invite people to fill in their information and all you have to do is login and see what's happening. You can follow-up with people with ease and confirm everything. It's changed how I handle small events.

Nachteile:

A person has to create an account in order to take part in SignUpGenius, not everyone likes to create yet another password to keep track of, but it's worth it in my opinion.
