Geting on board with Cin7

Kommentare: The platform is clearly laid out and fairly easy to navigate. The move to the new Cin7 system has meant a mass migration of a lot of information but has been surprisingly easy to ensure all our stock is reflected and priced correctly in the new platform. The help feature and Cin7 academy have proved invaluable in filling any knowledge gaps, and we have received great assistance in ironing out any issues from the customer support given.

Vorteile:

The onboarding experience has been going very smoothly largely due to the wealth of information provided thru the Cin7 Academy, as well as customer support given for any integration and learning issues through active meeting sessions. Our contact [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been most helpful.

Nachteile:

Have yet to run into any major hiccups as only in first month or so of using software, so far no major issues, platform can perform all tasks required as out previous software had.

Kommentare: Service with onboarding has been great. Questions have been aswered in a prompt manner. Everyone we have spoken to has been very nice and determined to provide an aswer to questions.

Vorteile:

It's early days for us. Cin7 seems like a powerful tool that we look forward to using to it's full potential. We are loving the degree of customisation. Reporting is a step up from other systems. Smart buyer tool is great.

Nachteile:

There are some features that seem quite unintuitive. A great feature is often let down by poor UX and UI. Hopefully things will improve. No mobile app.

Horrible service and way too buggy for the price

Kommentare: Very poor. Expensive, buggy and the price increases are ferocious.

Vorteile:

Lots of features and capabilities similar to ERP platforms without the cost or complexity of ERP.

Nachteile:

Pricing is punitive to smaller businesses and you are forced to pay far too much when only using certain parts of the platform. The customer service is dreadful and the platform is riddled with bugs that take months, and sometimes years, to be fixed.

A solid inventory management system

Kommentare: Cin7 is so far great for our small retail and eCommerce business, it certainly helps with the basics of managing inventory, sales and integrates with accounting. The onboarding experience was helpful despite lots of hiccups to get it up and running fast, but overall think it does a great job at providing the capabilities it does for the price they offer.

Vorteile:

Runs fast, integrations work clean, relatively intuitive once you understand the concepts. Once the foundations are set, then it really does a good job as an EDI at the core of the business.

Nachteile:

Missing some advanced features that are missing for certain manufacturing processes that just aren't there. It can be clunky and there are surprisingly a lot of crashes. An update in the UI would be much needed to reach today's standards. Onboarding is pricey, so best to make the most of it.

Kommentare: My second onboarder [sensitive content hidden] was ablke to bring our implementation back on track after a rather damaging experience from our inital start. We were on the verge of cancelling our subscription and signing up with Fishbowl.We are have now commenced our live transisioning and look forward to this product and support services living up to our expectations.

I felt that overall the procuct functionality and options was pleasently surprising.I look forward to trying to utilise as much as we can moving forward.

Nachteile:

Our initial onboarding experience was quite herrific and I found the onboarding process not quite flexibble enough or detailed enough to allow us to fully understand and utilise the product to its best ability.This process delayed our project start date by at least a month.We were how ever able to move on after allocation of another specialist.

Warehouse mangement system that has all the features

Kommentare: Generally, this is a very useful system and once you understand how to use it, it is very beneficial. Even with the glitches, I would still recommend it, this product has so many different features, and I believe that you can find a way to run every warehouse, no matter how unique your systems are. This is a system that has so many features and you can use them all or just those that suit your needs. Cin7's onboarding is extremely expensive, but necessary, because setting it up right with someone to guide you is a must.

Vorteile:

The most useful features in Cin7 is the ease of integration with Xero and Woocommerce. It was easy to connect and Xero connected easily. Also the B2B store is Cin7 best feature and easiest application to use and manage and has given me so much time back as no longer have to manually invoice each client.

Nachteile:

This product is on the pricey side and at times Cin7 can be a little glitchy, such as when completing an invoice it does not always transfer to the Xero Dashboard immediately, or the stock transfers on a sales invoice do not happen correctly and it comes up with an error, yet still completes the sales invoice and I then have to go in an manually alter each stock item. Also in the Woo-commerce platform the client names on orders do not always come through correctly, the system always messes these up.

It's highly customizable and very easy to get familiar with, it's user friendly and very intuitive as well!

Nachteile:

I wish it had a better integration with shipping carriers such as DHL or Fedex it is possible to use this carriers only if an app is installed and downlad but it would be great if they could be directly integrated with Cin7.

Fantastic Customer Support

Kommentare: I've had some incredibly positive experiences with the Support team - our Implementation Specialist, was phenomenal and really made the transition from our old system to Cin7 extremely smooth for us. He was able to explain things in plain English to us, and I always felt that he 'understood' what we needed. Our post-live onboarding specialist has also been wonderful, very responsive and so helpful. It's great that I get the same support specialist to work with - someone who understands our business and what we're after. We've recently had executive help us out on our account as well, and she has been so prompt to attend to my queries, and when I needed some urgent assistance, we turned it around extremely quickly, and exactly to my specifications. I could not be happier!

Vorteile:

It's easy to use, very beginner friendly. Love that it is all available online - I can work from home or from work, or even on the go! It's also significantly cheaper that our old system, and Cin7 integrates with a lot more apps!

Nachteile:

The Warehouse Management System is extremely lacking at this stage, which is a problem because we move stock around frequently, being a low-volume, fast-moving retailer.

Kommentare: Before using Cin7, we could not accurately get the big picture look at our inventory due to our nuanced manufacturing process. Now, with the help from Cin7, we know exactly what our inventory looks like from many different angles. The setup process was complicated because our products are so customizable, and Cin7 made the setup, data migration, and launch astonishingly pain-free.

Vorteile:

As a robust retail business with a very complicated inventory offering, this product excels at making it easier on our team to operate on a day-to-day basis. The complex manufacturing side was challenging to figure out, but with the help of the incredible Customer On-Boarding team, we got everything figured out. I can't say enough good things about our On-Boarding Team Member, Gavin. He answered every one of our questions, followed up when he didn't know the answer, and was patient and kind when showing us the ropes and helping us finesse our workflows. The team was able to customize our Dashboard, product modules, and Sales Orders to include everything we needed quickly and easily, tailoring this so specifically to our business and our customers. Cin7 is an excellent software and in our first 90 days using it, we're already able to see the benefits over some of the other software we looked at such as Shopify. The B2B portal setup was incredible. It's so nice to have our raw materials, showroom inventory, and b2b portal all housed in one place.

Nachteile:

The thing we like least about this software is its tricky compatibility with Authorize.net.

Kommentare: Integration was seamless, having a dedicated client manager on call with professional expertise that acts more of an educator than an implementor trained us how to use this software not what to do exclusively. Impartially, there's nothing I don't like. Issues solved
Stock control. Selling via 5 channels is impossible to track without CIN7.
Exact cost price - Paid in a different currency, need to add in extra shipping and handling costs, storage fees? no problem, it's all there, per item, per batch.

CIN7 Offers complete accountability of product traffic from purchase orders through to customer tracking numbers. Best components are the seamless integrations and 100% tracking costs.

NO General ledger and Not recommended if you have large qty of inventory

Kommentare: 4. If you choose to create all items for Cin 7 to integrate with Quickbooks, then you will need to create all items you have once more so that it can sync with Cin7. 5. Reports accuracy. If you run different reports the total sales amount most likely will be different. This is mostly because if you don't select the item from the drop down list you can still save the order while you think it will be calculated. Or if you somehow change the item number then you change it back it can't recognize it. 6. Tax issue. I don't know who's the accounting person with them designed this software but the tax charge can not be charged on line level - it can only be charged on order level. Therefore, if you want to have an invoice include both taxable item and non-taxable service on the order, your customer will be taxed for the service part or you will need to do 2 separate invoices. 7. Customer balance. This is a totally failed function for Cin7 since they don't use general ledger for reports. The "Paid" mark on the sales order page is NOT accurate - I have seen orders with payments shows no mark and orders without payments shows "Paid 100%". The customer's balance under CRM is pretty much a joke because of the customer payments postings recognition issue. 8. Other service issues - customer service, billing, and so on. I caught one order created by their customer service in our system not void no notes no notices. Overall, very disappointed.

Vorteile:

The user interface is easy to understand and straight forward. Charts are pretty. I think the software will be good for a tiny business that only use Cin 7 for all basic functions - inventory, customer management, etc.

Nachteile:

The biggest issue is NO General Ledger supported within the software so their reports are simply adds and minuses so sometimes the formula can gets messed up. We have switched to another software. I had a few major issues with Cin 7 and we were working with Cin 7 and Quickbooks integration: 1. Timing issue with Cin7. I don't know what time settings in Cin7 is but the time stamps are messed up for some orders. 2. Due to the timing issue, their inventory posting timing are super delayed. The customer service told me that the COGS only will be calculated after 24 hours of the order invoiced AND dispatched. This is also partly caused by no general ledger set up. Your COGS report will NOT be accurate if you dispatch and invoiced the order say - 8p.m. on last day of the month. The COGS report may calculate it on the first day of the following month. This is a huge issue for monthly reporting. 3. Integration. I only experienced Cin 7 with Quickbooks and it was a disaster. I was not participated in the implementation process so I don't know who's idea it was to create only one item in Quickbooks and when import data from Cin 7 to QB it only imports the amount of the total sales of line items to Quickbooks and descriptions but no inventory movement and no record of number of qty of products sold. You must rely on Cin7's reports for this part but the reports. This option should never supported by Cin 7 as their reports are not always accurate.

Kommentare: It's been an emotional roller coaster. I will try and keep our feedback brief and summarise our experience. Firstly we are a small business trying to get ourselves ready to take bigger steps in to growth by implementing systems that can simplify and reduce overheads moving forward. I chose CIN7 as it ticked many of the boxes we were looking for and the promises made on the initial consultation reassured us that the on-boarding process would be taken largely out of our hands. On-boarding is where the trouble started. Largely due to the incompatibility and complexity of our existing systems the amount of time and man hours requited to get the data ready on our side has been enormous. So much so that planned "go live" dates were pushed time and time again. I found working with the support team in different time zones further complicated things. Whist our on boarder [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] (more on him later) worked to our time, most of his support did not, so if there was a task he needed to outsource we would have to wait 24-48 hours for it to be resolved before we could continue moving forward. Due to the extraordinary amount of work that was required for us to carry out and issues with personal circumstances we had to take a brake from the on-boarding process. During this time, CIN7 deleted much of the work we had complied. This resulted in a complaint being raised and a consultation period to agree if and how we could move forward. Once the complaint reached the right hands, it was dealt

The communication to Xero for accounting. Order management is okay and my experience is improving as we become more familiar with the system

Nachteile:

The link to magento is awful and not doing what it should. This was a very important reason why Cin7 was chosen so I look forward to these issues being resolved.

Comprehensive software package and easy to use.

Kommentare: I wathe new version was very poor and extremely clunky to use. I spent over a year testing other 'Market Leading' software packages all of which failed in some key aspects and then a customer reccomended Cin7. That was over 5 years ago and in that time the company has expanded from 3 staff to 25 staff and i absolutely believe that Cin7 has been a key factor in that success.

Vorteile:

It does everything we need and everytime we think 'wish we could do this' we check the support Videos or speak to the superb 24 hour support and then we find that we can do what we want. Links seemlessly to other software packages like Xero and Shopify etc. All my 25 staff from the 66 year old to the 18 year old find it so very easy to use and on the job training saves us £1000s in lost time.

Nachteile:

I would like to be able to either produce bespoke reports or pay a consultant to produce these reports. ie a Price List. Also i think you should be able to restrict staff from having acess to certain information.

Great potential - poor customer communication hobbles it

Vorteile:

Solid database with easy search functionality. Cloud-based is fantastic. It never goes down and we can work remotely. Easy interface makes order entry fast. If you are using nothing or spread-sheets you will think this is the greatest thing ever! We were using MYOB Exo, so we noticed some improvements, but also some lost attributes. If you look at it on paper, Cin7 has fantastic features that should make running a business effortlessly. These include integrations with ECommerce sites, Smart Buyer for purchasing, integration with Xero, B2B website etc. We were sold on many of these but in reality, Cin7 is not a complete product. Most of the features seem to work, however, if you want two features, they don't work together. If you want the features to work properly they will fix it for a cost.

Nachteile:

Most of the problems I see with Cin7 are to do with customer support and knowledge about how business works. We try to be clear about what our requirements are: we are a mid-sized company with 40 years experience experience in import/export. Despite having an excellent team that are quite computer-saavy, I've repeatedly been told by support its 'user error' when reporting a bug. Tickets often get closed when the problem being fixed. Support lost so many of our tickets I was asked to reenter all those outstanding (so I have to project manage their bug fixes) Following that we was accused of being 'high maintenance customer' because we had more than 20 tickets entered in a month. That might give some scope to our problems with Cin7. I have offered to meet with the developers and explain what we need and why it makes business sense, but have been told they are busy with other projects and have continued to battle with support to get our issues fixed. One error we reported (products with 3 options freezing in B2B website) they insisted wasn't an error. Then they said it was couldnt be fixed. Then they said it was a new feature request (it had worked for 8 months lol) and we could pay them to programme it for us... outrageous given its not a feature unique for us. In the end, our newest employee (who claims he doesnt know much about computers) found the problem and fixed it. No acknowledgement from Cin7. Another example is why I'm doing this review to get fixed - Smart Buyer calculates how much to order based on previous sales and what you want to hold on your shelf BUT ignores any incoming stock and any back orders. Obviously not logical. CIN7 need to stop and listen to their customers and be less concerned with squeezing more money out of us.

The platform is full of bugs. On-boarding was appalling. Stock sync is a mess, keeps zeroing out our Shopify stock. Uploading from Cin7 to Shopify is impossible, we tried and lost all our store listings......took 5 days to re-enter the data. One of the main features is supposed to be having a single point of product truth, in reality its anything but, our Shopify store does a better job of managing stock and new product loading.
Help is slow and lacks basic workflow understanding. Support have no interest in anything outside the basic video help tutorials.....other than quoting for custom integration! We paid for the Xero migration, this was not completed so our accountant managed the transition from MYOB. Its taken 18 months to get that charge refunded...$3800..... Our on-boarding was a failure, we have asked for a discount as the system has not been delivering what we have paid for.......point blank refusal.....just an offer to discount a new on boarding process.....that''s right must be our fault! I have been very patient, multiple e-mails, phone calls with support but no movement at all. I will be moving to Tradegeko as soon as possible and taking these guys to small claims to recoup the costs we have invested into this platform. Sales people are very slick, on boarding team are nice people......but the product is full of bugs and middle management deliver appalling customer service. Stay away.

Initially excited but have been let down in too many areas to be happy. Looking for other options.

Vorteile:

New Zealand based with local offices. They do run training sessions hands on and say good things. Inventory side works okay.

Nachteile:

The POS can't cope with our volume discounts and is unusable. No action to help us with that though we have pleaded with them for years. We're expected to change the way we classify quantities to fit their system, not fit the system to our needs. Also the "product cost" figure loaded against the product gets changed by the PO's. As product is sold and shipped the cost is pulled from the PO's in FIFO order and it changes the cost against the product. I want to load the "cost" then monitor our purchasing against the expected cost, not be driven by the system. Also, when Cin7 make changes to their software we often have very negative events happen that have no obvious connection to the change they made and they have been slow to help rectify. We are also not sure that the Cin7-Xero link works properly. We have seen historical "changes" happen to COGS in Cin7 vis-a-vis Xero back for two years with no apparent explanation. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars differences in the COGS figure. The charges they make to us to use the system are escalating and seem out of control. When trying to contact them about charges they don't have an "accounts" department. Really? It seems to be charge what they like and ignore the queries.

There are certain software functions which are developed using accounting best practices and so COGS are calculated based on the cost entered during the purchasing process. This practice is accepted industry wide and being a SAAS company we have adopted this keeping it consistent across all our customers. Kommentare: I can honestly say that CIN7 has changed our business - for the better. With only 3 staff, and I feel that CIN7 in particular, has made up for almost 1 full time staff member in terms of increased productivity. The fact CIN7 is so customisable means that we have been able to tailor a "back end" POS and inventory management system that allows for staff (and through our website - customers) to get all the information we/ they need, in the shortest possible time frame. Being an importer, the ability to allocate and apportion freight and customs charges in NZD directly to USD purchase orders, then import it directly to Xero, has meant I no longer have to manually enter this info and spread it across a shipment in a spreadsheet, then enter it again - manually, to our old POS system. It also means that our costs are very accurate and therefore our GP figures are too. We have fairly complex components to some of our furniture items, but the CIN7 B.O.M builder allows us to allocate parts to make up a final product, taking away any messy guesswork with costings and stock control. The support has been Ok, but I feel a bit understaffed at times. They have just started a new support program in August and since then the support has been great so far. There ARE improvements to be made around the reconciliation between Xero and CIN7/ Shopify Integration/ CRM management etc, but overall a pretty good piece of software.

They try but miss the mark in many cases

Kommentare: I really like all the people there, but the product and service speed feel clunky and unfinished. I would not recommend the product.

Vorteile:

-All the staff we've worked with at Cin7 have been very nice and I think genuinely wanted to help us. -The POs synced with QBO in a manner that our accounting team preferred over previous systems. -It integrates well with ShipStation. -Syncs well with Woocommerce. -Can add internal comments to customers and sales orders.

Nachteile:

-Support is glacially slow. I have support tickets in that are more than 2 months old with no one answering. I've asked the (very nice) support chat to escalate and poke the relevant teams to no avail. -The way Cin7 does BOM items works fine for the internal orders, we found it creates difficulties with integrations. -Does not sync nicely with QuickBooks Online. At first there were 100+ errors, but we eventually got that under control (growing pains, right?) but now I've realized that the way it connects makes it impossible to track the value of our on hand inventory. POs import and increase inventory value, but SOs import with line items showing as a Service, so inventory cost is not deducted. I've opened a ticket about this, but am not holding my breath for a response. -Orders only sync to QBO if they have an invoice date... so if you have a sale that you can't invoice for a while (say stock is delayed) then you have to add a false invoice date and have to remember to update/resync it later. -Virtual stock is not always available to see, so it's not always clear how much we have on hand of BOM products. -Things often stop working without cause, and the fix seems to be to deselect the relevant setting, reselect, and save. Very frustrating when you pay for a working software.

Great product but ZERO support

Kommentare: Nearly 10 years of use.The product is great but the support is terrible. Harf to recommend to a new user as they would need a lot of support to get up and running.

Vorteile:

Easy to use and a lot of functionality.Interfaces easily into Shopify and Xero.Great for running a small manufacturing and online business.

Nachteile:

We have been using CIN7 for almost ten years.Great product with a lot of features and is reasonably priced. The reason for the low rating is that the support is woeful. If you can actually get someone to resend, then they are very professional and offer great support - the challenge is to get someone to respond.Tickets stay open for months; you have to chase and chase and chase.If you rang in continuously, eventually you would get someone - they have now stopped incoming calls.Chat is offline more than online.Sending a ticket in - is just a void.Hopefully, they will improve as the product is very good.
