Kommentare: BigCommerce has been the answer to all of the problems that have plagued my online store. Adding and managing products has never been simpler than it is on this site. With just a few clicks, I can make simple, customizable, and downloadable products.

Vorteile:

In every way, BigCommerce is the ideal platform for my company. This platform's dashboard is fantastic, and I appreciate how simple it makes managing and uploading stock. The quickness and dexterity that has been put into protecting and expanding my product sales has met with my complete satisfaction. To run my online store without any restrictions and in a professional manner is a dream come true.

Nachteile:

Although there are times when certain features do not function properly, such as when I am unable to access the applications within the back end or when newly updated features are not compatible with my configuration since I am still using an earlier version of BigCommerce, I have been using the platform for years.

Everything so far as it's easy and fast to many critical process.

Reporting needs changes as return reports have full refund but not able to run for partial refunds.

Provides simply set up and easy to load products.

Nachteile:

no access to database - even read only. If we had access to database, we could create a number of reports we currently dont have access to.

BigCommerce Honest Review

Kommentare: I didn't like BigCommerce. It was not user intuitive and the customer service was terrible. If you want to cancel the subscription, it is a multi step process and hard to accomplish.

Vorteile:

I liked that it was pretty easy to set up and use a free template. It looked clean and basic.

Nachteile:

I had trouble converting customers and having to pay high amount for good template. It looks good until you dive under the hood and then it is not what is expected. The fees are also very high compared to Wordpress or other alternatives.

Good Platform but has some fatal flaws

Kommentare: Not bad for simple stores. Support is responsive, but isn't very helpful. It's strange how many times I've contact developer support and said oops, looks like we don't have documentation for that. They roll out upgrades to their backend that are still very buggy.

Vorteile:

Easy product management, plenty of payment gateways available, decent theme store. Handles product options / variants better than Shopify. Has some good B2B / wholesale features out of the box.

Nachteile:

Themes are over bloated with way too many files. You can't edit the CSS and JS files online. Makes relatively easy changes (on other platforms) too time consuming. Often suffers from indexing delays and/ or caching issues so that your changes or new products you add take 30+ minutes to show up on the site. Main navigation menu is automated. You have to either hard code a menu or use an app if you want customizations to your menu. Stencil CLI can either work smoothly for editing themes or you'll spend hours chasing down compatibility issues. No way in store to easily find orphan pages.

Vorteile:

Bigcommerce is easy to implement and one of the most versatile ecommerce/inventory/web store/website builder/order management platforms on the market. They are built for you to grow and will work for a startup or for a enterprise.

Nachteile:

I dont like the way they announce new features. Sometimes the degrade a feature but the only way to find out is to attend a "town hall" instead they should just email all users a list of features that are being updated or degraded.

BigCommerce is a great online store solution.

Kommentare: We have used BigCommerce for over 6 years, and it has proved to be a fantastic online store solution, offering a simple interface, every feature you need, ease of payment for customers, and simple integration.

Vorteile:

Order management is the strongest point of BigCommerce, and that is exactly what you want from an online store. Integration is simple and accurate, reporting and analytics are comprehensive, and the scalable pricing structure is the cherry on top. An excellent product.

Nachteile:

I really don't have any complaints about BigCommerce. Oh wait, I thought of one - Stop asking me to change my password every 3 months - it's annoying !

Easy to use but they didn't have my back

Kommentare: At first it was great, but as they got bigger they didn't seem to value my business the same way and forced me to pay almost 3 times what I had agreed to. I was happy to switch to a competitor when I did.

Vorteile:

I liked that it was very easy to figure out. It was updated regularly and laid out nicely. I built my first e-commerce store on my own using this software.

Nachteile:

I kept hitting walls with what I wanted to do. Some of the features were limiting like "Options" and I kept hoping they would improved them. They also made a change to their pricing structure and took away Customer Groups on the plan I was on. It was $29/mo and then all of a sudden it was $79/mo. I wish they grandfathered me in. When I called to complain or work something out, they had a take it or leave it attitude... so I left it.

Bigcommerce the best!

It's a very good software that adapts to any format. I really like its ease of use and the simplicity of its user interface, and it has all the functionality for e-commerce.

Nachteile:

When you first start using it, it's a bit complicated, but over time you get the hang of it.

Kommentare: The over all experience all feature set on entry-level Big commerce plan is very comprehensive .it makes selling multiple currencies very straightforward,there are no transaction fees applied by Big commerce,even if you use third party payments providers.it is really easy to create custom fields.

Nachteile:

Free themes are very limited,the page builder widgets do not support custom typeface ,there is no shipping discount available on any plan,Big Commerce does not let you set smart product rules that automatically categorize your inventory,The built in blog does not facilitate RSS feeds,

BigCommerce provides solutions

Kommentare: As mentioned above an extremely capable solution that is robust enough to solve complex e-commerce demands, but also nimble enough for either first time users, or non-tech focused store managers.

Vorteile:

I had not previously used BigCommerce before taking on a new client in the retail space, but they had invested a good amount of time and effort and wanted to continue using BigCommerce moving forward. I was apprehensive at first, but quickly realized that BigCommerce is extremely capable and more than sufficient for almost all ecom build needs. I was especially impressed with their inventory management abilities and the ease with which we were able to integrate new SKUs into our build.

Nachteile:

Some of the backend felt like it could have been designed a bit more carefully. I would frequently encounter situations where I had to click through multiple fields in order to either input or manage product data, and while this seems inconsequential at first, when working with SKU lists of several hundred products, those extra clicks add up.

A trustworthy eCommerce platform

Vorteile:

It provides good tools to manage digital and physical goods and it will never collapse. Easy to use with good customer support.

Nachteile:

It seems little bit pricier compared to what other competitors offer but overall good buy.

Kommentare: We wanted an ecommerce platform that can help us manage our online orders, manage our content on the store and website and manage SKUs and shipments all in one platform. The product has been great and offers great features

-Easy to use as compared to other ecommerce platforms -Managing orders and inventory is very easy -Great for designing online storefront -Great for both B2B and B2C

The pricing is a trap, it increases with the use of different add ons

A great platform to start a multi channels e-commerce business

Kommentare: BigCommerce was our first e-commerce platform, it allowed us to easily sell on Amazon & eBay through their partner Codisto. It's a great start for any small business that is looking for an affordable multi channel solution

Vorteile:

The price is really attractive and the fact that you'll receive a version of Codisto (multichannel integration tool) for free is quite pleasant when you are starting a new venture. I would advise anyone to give them a chance

Nachteile:

Monthly fee on paid theme, you can always purchase a theme outside of their store but you won't get support on that. Maybe a one time payment is better for the customer in the long run

If you are serious about growing your business, there is no other platform to consider.

Kommentare: For the most part, BC is attentive and addresses our issues. Reps change more frequently than I would like and they are not very helpful. Most aren't there long enough to learn the position. The core staff and the support team are second to none. There is not one weak link on the support team. You will not understand how important this is until you need help from another provider and wait 30 minutes to talk to someone who knows less about the product than you and learned English as a second or third language.

Vorteile:

BigCommerce Support is not only the best there for an e-commerce platform. It is the single best support compared to every provider I have ever used. They answer the phones quickly. The person who picks up the phone knows what he/she is doing. Calls never have to be escalated and the issue is (almost) always resolved. My issues are normally fixed within 10 minutes of picking up the phone to dial. BC doesn't waste your time. PCI compliance was a big part of why we moved. BC takes it all on. We no longer have to provide scan reports or do any paperwork. Consistent conversion rates - there are few ups and downs. I can depend on my site to be functional. Adding products, categories and landing pages is simple. 2 months after moving to BigCommerce I let my entire development team go. We no longer needed any of them. Training an employee to add products takes just a few minutes.

Nachteile:

Some things seem to take forever to get done. 301 redirects are difficult to manage and a fix has been in and out of the works for years. Product page load times can exceed 1000ms. Mobile PageSpeed is big in Google's eyes and we are slower than average.

BigCommerce is the best e-commerce platform that ever existed

Kommentare: The product is recommended for both B2C and B2B offers very user-friendly interface and outstanding customer services. We have managed our online store with BigCommerce and the company made us convert more than any other previous platforms.

Vorteile:

The platform is simply extraordinary, very easy to use. -Great for web design and managing content within the website/online store -You can easily offer vouchers and discounts with add ons to prospects -Managing orders and processing orders is very simple and straightforward -Processing payments is great -Great for reviewing all the products and helps prospects decide what to buy

Nachteile:

-I would only point out as the pricing of the platform is the strength of the product as it is not expensive, but every add on comes with additional price which adds up for us. -Time to time updating themes have been problematic

Would switch if I could find something better

Vorteile:

Easy to get up and running. Features are some of the best offered in this class. Pricing doesn't take a cut off of sales.

Nachteile:

Many advanced features lacking or cost extra, like filtered search and navigation. Bugs are fixed and new features are added based on number of requests as opposed to the severity or need of the fix or feature. As a result, some bugs can persist for years if only a few people have reported them. No release notes or detailed info on updates. Overall it seems the company is still run more like a startup as instead of an established company that's accountable to their customers. Seems they focus more on doing things that get them headlines, marketing material, and talking points instead of what most meets their customer's needs. They can be quite tonedeaf when it comes to understanding the way retail works and what the needs of small businesses really are. It's quite a shame as there is a lot of potential. The only reason I stay is because either the better platforms are unaffordable (Magento, Demandware, Netsuite, Miva, etc) or the ones comparable in price lack essential features or have their own problems that I can't workaround (Shopify, Volusion, etc.) So I'm stuck until we grow more. Don't get me wrong, they have improved greatly in the 6 years I've been with them, but they have a long way to go.

It's okay.

Vorteile:

We moved from Shopify to Bigcommerce because Shopify lacked features that Bigcommerce had out of the box such as proper product categories, saved payments, one-page checkout among others. These features have worked well and our conversion rates went from 3% to over 10%. Bigcommerce is great for more complicated product catalogs with lots of categories and skus whereas Shopify is great for simple catalogs.

Nachteile:

Bigcommerce continues to build out new features rather than fixing problems with current ones. Every week I hear about a new payment processor or some random feature that's built half-baked. I've been very, very frustrated at the lack of thought behind many features and their inability to fix simple problems. Their API's are a mess, with some of the API's passing all the data you need, and other's missing important data needed - so we're creating functions to call information that should be (and easily can be) included in the objects returned by the API. There is NO mobile application, even to check simple things like orders, which is the most ridiculous thing given we're in 2019.

BigCommerce Review

Kommentare: It works, and we need the software as we couldn't integrate two Shopify stores into our ERP. I hope we can expect BigCommerce to keep adding features because they really do have a lot of catching up to do.

Vorteile:

We stated using BigCommerce as the software behind our new website redesign. We like the ease of setting up the products, product customization and the large pool of experienced companies that design BigCommerce storefronts. It was easy to get setup and our new website was running in about 6 months.

Nachteile:

The order management system they have in place is just not good. You cannot edit orders. Which customers expect us to be able to do. If a customer wants to add an item you can add the item, but you cannot charge the customer for the additional item within BigCommerce software. Same goes with removing items from orders. If you remove an item from an order it does not give you an option to refund the difference. You have to do that outside BigCommerce software. Our website has been live on BigCommerce for about 4 weeks now and we just experienced our fist "outage" in over 5 years. So I am not optimistic about uptime since the site has already gone down once, and it has only been live for 4 weeks. Using BigCommerce it is hard to search for and find orders, even if you have an order number you are redirected to the "advanced search". Instead of being able to type in an order number and find the order you have to type in the number, wait for the advanced search page to load then type in the order number again. Come...on...guys. The same with product search. I can copy and paste a product name directly from our storefront, search in BigCommerce, then I get redirected to another "advanced search" page. Where I have to enter the SAME SEARCH again, then I get results. We are on an "enterprise" plan that in some ways, has less features than a store we run on a "basic" Shopify plan for less than 1/3 the cost. Inventory tracking is also not great.
