Kommentare: The problem of inefficiency corrects itself with many of SmartAdvocate's customizations and automation. For example, we are expediting electronic contracts/agreements to clients via text message and email, whereas other firms are still stuck on paper contracts. Never would I have thought clients would embrace technology, like the use of text over email. Yes, snail mail still has a role and a place, but the practicality and adaptiveness text messages give clients is excellent. This program stays relevant at the speed of shifts and trends, as well as changes with technology.

Vorteile:

Our personal injury law firm switched from Needles to Smart Advocate about three years ago. The amount of growth we've had plays largely thanks to this case management software, especially after Covid-19 hit. This software made the transition from working in the office to working from home almost effortless. Our staff never missed a beat, and our clients never realize the change happened virtually overnight. While other firms struggled with technological, let alone case management issues, for us, it was business as usual. With Smart Advocate's features, updates, support, and innovation, there is no other way but growth. It's a powerhouse of a tool for great staff, which gives clients the most significant outcome.

Nachteile:

There is not much to dislike, but there is always room for improvement. That said, when a dislike does arise, reaching out to SmartAdvocate usually remedies our dislikes. For example, the recommendation was to set up multiplaintiff parties under one case number. We tried that out and realized that would not work for our reporting and usage needs. Their development team quickly remedied a solution for each party to work with one case number while still giving us the linking ability needed for multi-party cases.

I could not do without it.

Kommentare: It is so nice to have all the data for a case at your fingertips.

Vorteile:

I am the team member at our firm who manages the medical providers and medical records for each case. Without this software, I could never keep up with the volume of cases we have. SA makes my job so much easier with reminders, task tracking, and multiple ways to incorporate data into chronologies, spreadsheets, and many applications.

Nachteile:

SA is user friendly but there is a learning curve when starting.

Our firm has been using Smart Advocate for approximately 4 months, and we are learning new features daily. I really like that you can open one case multiple times and filter the docs you are working on all at the same time and the dashboards.

Nachteile:

I think color coding would be helpful. Smart Advocate is an internet based program and sometimes it can slow you down - which we may need higher internet.

Best Software on the Market

Kommentare: Best investment a firm could make. If I ever move away from my current firm, I have to take SA with me. I wish I had a SA for my personal life. The sky is the limit with what SA can do as long as you take the time to input the information needed for the software to do what it can do. But the time it takes to prepare templates; enter client/expert/medical facility information is completely worth the benefits in efficiency that SA provides

Vorteile:

SA has made me 100x better at my job and more efficient than I thought possible. Taking the time to set up templates, auto-run reports, and input client information makes handling an extremely high case volume manageable. I love that SA can correct firm errors. For example if one of our paralegals does not report an expense to accounting, we can perform a notes search for the day of the charge and identify the case to charge the expense to.

Nachteile:

I wish SA was able to auto-change case status and sub status based on when a specific document category and sub-category was uploaded to the documents tab. SA implements this feature with the Med Providers Tab to change the status of a medical records request from internal to received when records are uploaded. It would be nice to be able to change the status of a case based on whether a specific document has been uploaded to the document tab so that a case browse report would give you a real-time look at where each case stands without having to rely on the users manual changes.

We have been using Smart Advocate for roughly 7 years for our case management software. It has streamlined our practice and is a great tool to manage both our cases and our team.

The lack of ability to seamlessly handle single event accident cases involving multiple parties.

Smart Advocate has many great online resources that can generally help with most trouble shooting before having to reach out to support. But if support is needed, they typically reply fairly quick! However, the monthly tips are usually easy enough to navigate.

It would be nice if photos sent via text messages could show in the Notes feature.

Seamless integration of Microsoft products

Kommentare: I like SmartAdvocate. While I think some aspects could be better, this has been a very easy program to learn.

Vorteile:

The task tracking is super helpful and I like that I can assign tasks to myself. It helps me not to forget what I need to do.I like the Document Cloud a lot. It allows everyone in the firm to access the same documents without having to download them every time. It also makes organizing documents easier.

Nachteile:

I wish SA allowed you to edit document templates on the website. I also cannot figure out how to download the Word Plug-In so I can't edit the templates at all.The workflows are very hard to implement. They are tedious to design and often don't work as intended. Tweaking them after testing them takes time and often still doesn't get you the results you want.

Automation at its Finest!

Kommentare: We've gone from calling and emailing clients ourselves to letting SA take the reins. That saved time converts to more time spent working on legal research and writing for our attorneys and new potential client outreach for our support staff.

Vorteile:

The automated client outreach and task systems have been phenomenal. It doesn't get any better than this.

Nachteile:

Out initial roll-out was rocky. Sometimes, features are labelled incorrectly or are not clearly defined. The automated processes rely heavily on inputting the information in the least visible parts of the application.

Kommentare: Organizational problems solved with SmartAdvocate. The best benefit to Smart Advocate is when you actually use all of its functions and input all the information in its necessary place/fill out all the fields, it makes life very easy.

Vorteile:

That you can add almost ANY detail to the case to SA that is separated into so many different categories to find info about the case. I love how it can be connected to our Outlook email to send/set tasks or email tasks to anyone. If all the information is inputted into the correct places, it can be VERY helpful. Love how it puts all the info into the template for you.

Nachteile:

It can be overwhelming the amount of information that SA shows/requires to fill out for the case. Not always user friendly...especially if you are still learning how to use SA and ALL of its features. I do not like when searching for a client in search bar that multiple tabs open up and can make the screen overwhelming to look at with multiple tabs. It is both a good and a bad thing how much information can be stored into SA. I wish the dashboard was easier to read, too crowded.

Kommentare: Great team to work with, great software and overall best product on the market.

Vorteile:

The referral source tracking is incredible. I have a great snapshot of where our referrals are coming from and how much we spend on those campaigns. This generates a clear cost per case and cost per call.

Nachteile:

A few things to be worked out, but their team is always quick to jump on a call and work through any feedback.

Vorteile:

Having to work remotely for most of last year has been so much easier with SmartAdvocate. It is easy to understand and use. The tips of the week and offered webinars are invaluable!

Nachteile:

Some of the tabs have areas that cannot be changed when added but all the other features make up for that.

Tailor made to meet our needs

Kommentare: SmartAdvocate is simply the best case management software out there. It's great to finally use a program designed for Plaintiff's personal injury practice. The ease of use in generating forms, managing the calendar & statutes, tracking the status of cases, and easily accessing documents is phenominal. We've become so much more efficient thanks to this program.

Features of this program are specifically tailored to meet the needs of a plaintiff's personal injury practice. Makes keeping up with deadlines and workflow between staff members incredibly easy. Ultimately makes us much more efficient.

The interface could be a little more intuitive in places, but generally very user friendly.

Kommentare: After a year of use, I find that this product is a wonderful way to keep track of our mass tort clients / documents.

Vorteile:

SmartAdvocate is end user friendly for staff. We are able to work on site or remote without any hiccups.

I would like more customizable reporting options.

Kommentare: Overall it's quite easy to use. SmartAdvocate hosts seminars fairly frequently which I have been finding useful. I'm new to this program and still learning. There are times when I feel like our operations in Class Actions may not fully fit in with this program, but Mass Torts seem to work well. We try to keep up to date and implement any features from the webinars as we go along.

Vorteile:

I like that everything is in one place and that we use significantly less paper. The notes feature is great for keeping track of every interaction with the client. The search feature works well in the documents section. It is hooked up to my outlook which makes it easy to save all correspondence into the appropriate files.

Nachteile:

When searching client names in the data base, you have to ensure there are no extra spaces or it wont come up even if it is indeed in the system.
