Kommentare: We had a lot of help transitioning from the older Bidding Owl site, making our current auction excellent, and every exchange with customer service was quick, professional, and positive.
Vorteile:
The customer service and the website was so easy to set up and use for our school auction.
Nachteile:
We had a great experience. I would say maybe the only thing that would have been helpful is if you had automatically charges bidders and asked for credit cards up front. That would make fulfillment easier.

Kommentare: Overall our experience with biddingowl is positive. We have been able to increase our auction revenue without locking into an annual fee, as we only hold one event per year. The support has been timely and efficient. The payment processor was easy enough to just have members of our team jump in and help accept payments at our event. It helps with tracking of our items throughout our auction acquisition process and facilitates easy reconciliation of payments .
Vorteile:
We were first drawn to biddingowl because there are no annual fees. We are a charity organization looking to maximize the monies being donated to our cause. The fee structure of 5% of the high bids is in-line with other competitive auction processing.
Nachteile:
There were a few changes made in the new biddingowl that we were not originally happy with. We contacted their support and appreciated the quick response. Some things they were able to help us with right away, other are being slotted as future release enhancements. We appreciate that they listened and took our opinions into account
Bidding Owl for our Organization
Kommentare: Overall it was a great resource for our stopgap online auction. It was quick and easy to set-up, and you can't beat the fees, especially for a small nonprofit and small auction. We would consider using the software again, however if we were putting on a larger and more complicated online auction, we might consider a more sophisticated and intuitive system.
Vorteile:
I like how it is a simple platform that allows you to get an auction up and running very quickly. I found most of the set-up intuitive, although there were a few things that required some trial and error.
Nachteile:
A lot of individuals looking to bid on items had trouble figuring out how to do so. We had to create our own instructions and instructional videos to add to our home page to guide users through the process. I wish there were instructional videos front and center on each auction welcome page, so we didn't have to create that and guide people how to use the site. Also, the information on how to bid using increments was difficult for people. I wish the minimum increment information was more easily identifiable with instructions on how to bid on each item listing, or that the system automatically suggested the next applicable bid amount based on the increments in the bid field.

Bidding Owl has revolutionized the way that our non-profit organization is able to fundraise! Previously we were only able to reach people at in-person events and with the ease of use, registration process, and ease of sharing to the world, we have raised 20 times as much money. It's really astounding. The best part has truly been the customer service! Very helpful to walk through all the set-up steps to ensure we had everything correct before launching. Plus they've also been really quick to help me and my bidders when we needed help. Will absolutely use again and planning on using it for another non-profit that I volunteer with. A+++++
Nachteile:
Would be great if the short url code worked on social media, much easier to market and have others share. Not a huge deal, though.

A life saver in the middle of a pandemic!
Kommentare: We will definitely be using Bidding Owl again and recommending it to other non profits in similar situations like us. Now that we know how wonderful online auctions are we’ll never go back to paper!

Our school has had silent auctions in the past, but never an online one. When the Covid19 pandemic sent everyone into quarantine our school scrambled to find an alternative spring auction we had already started planning. Bidding Owl’s software made it so easy to set up, edit, and promote before the auction started. While our 3 day auction took place we received a lot of feedback from our school’s families on how easy they felt it was use and how professional everything looked. Post auction we have made more money than any of other other auctions in the past and the checkout process has been simple and straightforward. I can’t wait to do another one!
Nachteile:
I wish that it would show the opening bid before users had to click on the item to see its details. It would also be nice to have the option of more than 3 photos on some items.

Kommentare: Overall, our experience with BiddingOwl.com was positive and met our needs for this particular event.
Vorteile:
We were able to customize the schedule & pricing of auction items to meet our specific needs. We had access to live customer service via email, phone and even got on a Zoom call for a walkthrough. We were able to direct people to the site easily via social media and our e-newsletter marketing. Set-up & management was relatively easy and we were able to track progress on items in real time and easily manage items.
Nachteile:
That our users had to register separately for the site in order to bid.
BiddingOwl will be my go-to auction platform for every charity auction going forward!
Kommentare: I am not a tech-savvy person and was very nervous about trying an online auction! BiddingOwl is so easy to use. I have been working on setting up our auction for 3 months and wanted to wait until we went live to confirm the user experience before writing this review. The auction looks very professional. The user experience is great. We have not had any issues with users having trouble navigating the bidding process. Most important - the live, readily available customer service made all the difference in the world. The BiddingOwl team is responsive, professional and offer best practices. The pricing is wonderful - no nickel and diming. As a non-profit, we wanted to minimize the administrative costs of this effort.
Vorteile:
The pros for BiddingOwl include: - extremely easy to use in terms of set up - extremely easy for the participants to use (setting up bidding profiles and making bids) - pricing is very low - liked that no credit card information is stored in the system - but they integrate with PayPal. - most important - the customer service is amazing. BiddingOwl can easily be reached by phone, they participated in meetings with us and provided training - all at no additional cost!
Nachteile:
- a little challenging to offer items that are only "buy it now" via the auction. not impossible - just have to play with the pricing of the items a bit.
We rely on Bidding Owl every year for our annual auction fundraiser
Kommentare: We have used BiddingOwl.com for all of our auction fundraisers for the last eight years. We are a very small nonprofit organization and this platform has worked well for us. The customer support is excellent, and I always know there is someone available to answer my call or email, or to review our site to make sure everything is ready to go.

The Bidding Owl software and team is experienced working with nonprofit organizations, and is very user friendly. This year there was a software upgrade, and the team was very responsive in helping us to understand the changes, and make sure we were ready to go.

First time using BiddingOwl
Kommentare: Overall we were pleased with the way the auction looked online and with the ease of setup and use. We would use it again and recommend it to others.
Vorteile:
We wanted an online auction platform that was easy to setup and use for our biannual art auction. Another nonprofit we know used it for a similar purpose and recommended it to us. We are pleased with the results!
Nachteile:
We had some users that had difficulty finding our auction on their mobile phone, finding that a search for BiddingOwl came up with legacy.biddingowl site instead of the new version that included our auction. We also ended up with a shipping charge added to every invoice instead of having it be optional, but these were minor difficulties.
BiddingOwl has completely restructured our annual fundraising auction
Kommentare: After 10 years of doing the traditional live and silent auction, we decided to give the online auction option a try. After quite a bit of research, we chose BiddingOwl as our online software. We now make more than half of our total profit from the online part of our auction, and I am pushing to completely move to online only. BiddingOwl has made this shift incredibly easy and profitable. We are now able to reach a much wider audience. This is our fourth year using BiddingOwl and we will continue to do so!
Vorteile:
Great customer support, especially for a "newbie" like me. The overall look is generally nice and clean. The bidding and check out process is fairly easy from the consumer end. I like that we can save items from year to year. Once you've set it up once, the work has decreased immensely over the years.
Nachteile:
I'd like to have a little more choice in font, colors, etc during the set up. It would make sense to have the logo (and other info) for a donor come up when they are chosen as a donor for an item. It would be helpful to keep bidders in the database when the auction is reset.
Good option for nonprofit auctions
Kommentare: I have set up an auction with over 70 items single handedly, with a minimum of pain.
Vorteile:
I like how Bidding Owl lets you set up an attractive auction website, with very straightforward and foolproof functionality. I also like how it is all inclusive, rather than nickle and diming you for each bit of functionality. Also, when I reached out to customer support with a concern by email, they got back to me immediately.
Nachteile:
I would love to be able to list an auction item under two categories. I feel like by having to choose a category for each item, you run the risk that you will mis-categorize and lose a potential bidder. I also wish there was real time, live person, chat support.
Very Recommended Auction Software
Kommentare: The thing that I love about BiddingOwl is they have a very supportive team, as an NGO sometimes it is hard for us to pay the fee, but they're patiently waiting for us!
Vorteile:
My organization has been using BiddingOwl for more than 3 years, we loved it! It easy to use as the administrator and as the user.
Nachteile:
I think it would be great if BiddingOwl can provide the "clicks statistic" in the future so we can identify how many clicks on some particular item without really bidding on it.

Another Successful Auction
Kommentare: It was a great experience and i found the support to be very helpful. I sometimes felt bad having to call them about something I probably should know, but they were patient and helpful.
Vorteile:
Bidding Owl is user friendly even for someone who is not techy. As we continue to use it we find even more features that have helped us with our Auction.
Nachteile:
At first i was afraid to click on some of the menu buttons for fear of what might happen. I soon learned however that they have safeguards to prevent you from having to proceed in something you are not sure of.
Three on-line auctions supported; we have had great experiences
Kommentare: Bidding Owl has allowed our Foundation to extend our Fundraising across the Province that we serve, which is a great boost for us.
Vorteile:
The best part of my personal experience has been the friendly, efficient, and helpful staff who have responded to any of my questions.
Nachteile:
There are a couple of aesthetic things I would like to see changed (eg. removal of categories not used in our on-line auction), and I would like to be able to load more than one picture at a time. However, these are insignificant against the overall ease and efficiency of the program.
Outstanding customer service and great product
Kommentare: We are using Bidding Owl for our annual fundraiser. This is our 2nd year. Even easier then last year was with them. Very happy! Anytime I have a question I can easily reach them via email or phone. They are easy to talk to and truly seem to care about your business.

The customer service is outstanding. I like the site, it's easy to use on my end and customers end but having good customer service is a massive selling point for me.
Nachteile:
Could use a few more features so make things a bit easier at time but this will not stop me from using their software again.
Bidding Owl Great Auction Tool for Nonprofits

We continue to use Bidding Owl every year for our online auction. It's very efficient and easy to use. I can also use information from past auctions to carry over items and other information from previous auctions, which saves a lot of time and effort.
Nachteile:
Not a lot of cons, though I would like to see some new auction themes added.
Great For Elementary School Auction
Kommentare: This is our school's third year using BiddingOwl.com to run our online auction and to sell our auction tickets. It works perfectly for our needs and charges a very fair price. The customer support is great.
Vorteile:
I love that there is no subscription fee. The costumer support is great and I love that you can "reset" your auction if most items stay the same from year to year, rather than having to re-enter all items every year.
Nachteile:
The close out process took me a little bit to figure out (although I am not super tech savvy).

Bidding Owl is incredibly user-friendly and offers a variety of options to customize the type of auction you are trying to build. I love how quickly we can add items, track bids and adjust features as needed.
Nachteile:
We had a lot of donors, and the scrolling banner only offers a single-line scroll. 2 or 3 scroll lines to maximize the donor view would be a great addition.
Bidding Owl Great for Small Nonprofits!

Vorteile:
We have used Bidding Owl for 3 years as an ancillary fundraiser to our Banquet, and found it especially helpful, both used as a stand-alone online auction, and also used in conjunction (once things opened up after COVID) with an in-person, but bidding online auction. It worked just great to get things done, but also lets people start bidding in advance of the event.
Nachteile:
Only allows use of PayPal as a payment source for users.

Kommentare: [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] have been so helpful with the many questions I had before and during the auction. This was a last-minute decision to do an online auction when our event was canceled back in April. We were so glad to raise some money for our school.

Kommentare: The Bidding Owl allowed our community to raise funds in a fun way online when an in-person event was not possible. We also found that by using this site, we raised more funds than we had at any time in the past.
Vorteile:
This is still a great platform for fundraising events and reaches people beyond my hometown. Once the online auction starts, the event runs itself complete with checkout procedures.
Nachteile:
Some older individuals find navigating to be confusing when registering and then when checking out. Knowing that you need to click on the green shopping cart with the check-mark to summarize your items and create an invoice is helpful.

Kommentare: My overall experience is a positive one. I have found the site to be very easy to navigate even via mobile. I think that the customer support is very helpful and quick to respond so if I ever do have an issue it can be solved or answered in a day's time.
Vorteile:
I really enjoy that the fees are low and the interface in setting up the auction is relatively easy to navigate.
Nachteile:
I have had trouble in both years with the highest bidder not making payment straight away. My auction is for charity so the more items I sell the better for kids with cancer. I think it would be awesome to have an automatic payment for highest bidders available to lock them into bidding.
