No bells and whistles, but a quality vendor that will get the job done!

Vorteile:

We like that our auction homepage is customizable, and that we can add "Fund-a-Need" items for a la carte purchase in addition to bidding on our live and silent auction items. We also appreciate that purchases can be made via PayPal or directly with a credit card. The site is user-friendly provides concise direction for setup. Every time I've called in for support, I've spoken with the same representative (Hi, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]), which has given me a nice sense of continuity through this endeavor. The fact that the pricing is the lowest in the industry is such a great bonus!

Nachteile:

I experienced an issue with the payment integration with PayPal, that I wish Bidding Owl could have resolved on my behalf. Instead, I spent several hours, over the course of multiple days, working through it. After all was finished, I was pleased with the outcome, but it was definitely a flustering experience.

Absolutely fantastic for fundraising and the best customer service!

Vorteile:

Bidding Owl has revolutionized the way that our non-profit organization is able to fundraise! Previously we were only able to reach people at in-person events and with the ease of use, registration process, and ease of sharing to the world, we have raised 20 times as much money. It's really astounding. The best part has truly been the customer service! Very helpful to walk through all the set-up steps to ensure we had everything correct before launching. Plus they've also been really quick to help me and my bidders when we needed help. Will absolutely use again and planning on using it for another non-profit that I volunteer with. A+++++

Nachteile:

Would be great if the short url code worked on social media, much easier to market and have others share. Not a huge deal, though.

BiddingOwl Auctions

Kommentare: I set up an auto-bid and selected both text and email notifications but I received zero notifications during the auction. I didn't get anything until the auction was over when it notified me I won the item. Initial problems during setup, some functionality from the old version was missing from the new version (not sure if it's been updated).

Vorteile:

Relatively easy setup, bidding was easy enough, no user complaints

Nachteile:

New version lost features the old version had and while the new interface looks better it doesn't necessarily perform better in some areas. At least that was my experience during the initial setup, improvements are ongoing.

A life saver in the middle of a pandemic!

Kommentare: We will definitely be using Bidding Owl again and recommending it to other non profits in similar situations like us. Now that we know how wonderful online auctions are we’ll never go back to paper!

Vorteile:

Our school has had silent auctions in the past, but never an online one. When the Covid19 pandemic sent everyone into quarantine our school scrambled to find an alternative spring auction we had already started planning. Bidding Owl’s software made it so easy to set up, edit, and promote before the auction started. While our 3 day auction took place we received a lot of feedback from our school’s families on how easy they felt it was use and how professional everything looked. Post auction we have made more money than any of other other auctions in the past and the checkout process has been simple and straightforward. I can’t wait to do another one!

Nachteile:

I wish that it would show the opening bid before users had to click on the item to see its details. It would also be nice to have the option of more than 3 photos on some items.

A win-win for auction hosts and bidders!

Vorteile:

Loved the ability to test it out, then convert it into my live online auction event. Easy setup with knowledgeable, responsive support when questions arose. Bidders can view items larger to see details and receive an email or text message if outbid.

Nachteile:

I look forward to the new release coming soon. Hoping for more customization of fonts, colors and backgrounds. Also the ability to change the title of “Fund-a-Need and More” non-biddable items, easily reorder them, and see an improved user-friendly interface for checkout.

Bidding Owl-A Review

Kommentare: Overall our experience has been very good from the set-up to the final invoicing!

Vorteile:

We like the 'look' of the auction pages! It is an improvement to be able to add 5 photos to each item. Also, the bids are easy to make and bidders can be reminded if they lose a bid. Support is very prompt and helpful!

Nachteile:

Some of the instructions are a bit hard to understand-ie at the top of Item Management.

Good option for nonprofit auctions

Kommentare: I have set up an auction with over 70 items single handedly, with a minimum of pain.

Vorteile:

I like how Bidding Owl lets you set up an attractive auction website, with very straightforward and foolproof functionality. I also like how it is all inclusive, rather than nickle and diming you for each bit of functionality. Also, when I reached out to customer support with a concern by email, they got back to me immediately.

Nachteile:

I would love to be able to list an auction item under two categories. I feel like by having to choose a category for each item, you run the risk that you will mis-categorize and lose a potential bidder. I also wish there was real time, live person, chat support.

Bidding Owl works for us

Kommentare: The initial with the new site setup was a bit time consuming and confusing. After that set up the ease of adding items was good. I like the new photo adding system.

Vorteile:

Customer Support is great. Ease of listing items is good. Photo adding has improved with the new revisions of the site.

Nachteile:

I did like the old Leaderboard functions. It gave greater detail and breakdown. Also the new version does not have an "Expiration date" field. That was a good reminder to list expiration dates.

Great auction site for bidders

It seemed like there was not an option to stay logged in.

Great for Online Auctions

Kommentare: Overall a great experience, we've used it multiple times and plan to again in the future!

Vorteile:

BiddingOwl worked very well for our non-profit's annual auctions. It's easy to learn how to use and it was intuitive for our bidders too. It offers flexibility and customization, and the support system was fairly helpful. It's much less expensive than the other vendors we looked at and we are overall happy with how our events went.

Nachteile:

I've had a few unhelpful replies from customer support. It can be tedious to edit all of your items, for example if you want to renumber them. A few bidders had trouble figuring out how to checkout. Uploading images sometimes produced errors.

Three on-line auctions supported; we have had great experiences

Kommentare: Bidding Owl has allowed our Foundation to extend our Fundraising across the Province that we serve, which is a great boost for us.

Vorteile:

The best part of my personal experience has been the friendly, efficient, and helpful staff who have responded to any of my questions.

Nachteile:

There are a couple of aesthetic things I would like to see changed (eg. removal of categories not used in our on-line auction), and I would like to be able to load more than one picture at a time. However, these are insignificant against the overall ease and efficiency of the program.

Bidding Owl Great Auction Tool for Nonprofits

Kommentare: Our overall experience with Bidding Owl has been very good, and includes great customer service and response time. I highly recommend for convenience, cost and service.

Vorteile:

We continue to use Bidding Owl every year for our online auction. It's very efficient and easy to use. I can also use information from past auctions to carry over items and other information from previous auctions, which saves a lot of time and effort.

Nachteile:

Not a lot of cons, though I would like to see some new auction themes added.

Auction with Ease

Kommentare: Being able to raise money by using bidding owl helps the school so much with enrichment programs.

Vorteile:

The ability to create edit and use for a elementary auction is welcomed. We have had many successes due to biddy now being easy to use for everyone.

Nachteile:

Payment. I wish there was a way to keep credit cards on file to ease check out.

Music Booster Club Has Success with First Try

We were told by others it was easy to use and that their company had had success.

Nachteile:

It was a bit confusing that when the link was published and people created an account they couldn't see items to bid on until they logged out and logged back in.

So glad we found Bidding Owl!

Kommentare: Although our organization supports work that involves over 250,000 kids in Africa, we have no paid employees (not an option to select at the beginning of this survey). So we wanted something that would be easy for multiple people to use. The reason we went with BO was because they actually had a phone number and somebody to talk to. They have EXCELLENT customer service, always getting back quickly, even providing an emergency after-hours number.

Vorteile:

We tried an online auction for the first time, due to COVID closing down the school where we usually had our physical auction. This product was very user-friendly and intuitive. The tutorials were helpful as well. The item presentations looked very professional, with pictures and as much space as you needed for descriptions. I could even cut and paste pictures and descriptions from websites for items that could be found online. People said they found it easy to sign up. We ran the auction for a week and people enjoyed being able to bid from home. There are also options for "text me if I'm outbid" and putting in a maximum bid that you will automatically go up to. People found it fun to get those alerts! We had people participate who normally wouldn't have attended an auction in person.

Nachteile:

The biggest issue was the inability to add a donation at checkout. BO says they are planning to add this feature in an upgrade next month. The other issue was multiple "you won an item" notifications at the end, and it wasn't very intuitive to see how to get to the payment page. I believe this is also going to be streamlined in the upcoming BO software update. Almost all of our people paid right away so we didn't have to chase down anybody for payment. We set up two options for pickup at a specified location - a weeknight and a Saturday.

BiddingOwl works great for our organization.

Kommentare: BiddingOwl.com has been an excellent host for our annual December silent auction. I even was able to look at other organizations auctions for ideas. Any time that I have needed help with the software or for setting up an event, the response time and quality of the response has been great!

Vorteile:

We have a small group and the features of bidding owl, as well as their staff support, make the program very user-friendly. I highly recommend their software for online auction events.

Nachteile:

There is a learning curve to quickly enter items for a silent auction, but only because the software has many features with options to help cater the site to your group's needs.

An experience like NONE other with www.biddingowl.com

Kommentare: Our agency has experienced no problems with biddingowl.com. Everything about them is top-notch and professional. Each time I use the system for an annual auction fundraiser, I am more and more pleased with this software. There is no way we could spend the time 're-inventing the wheel' to have our on line auction. We are very pleased at Arthritis Patient Services in Charlotte, NC.

Vorteile:

We have been long standing customers with bidding owl! The system is user friendly, and it works like a charm! I am so pleased when I email or call in to the bidding owl office that someone is always able to help me get through any issue. This service matters most to our non-profit. In all our years using the system, no one has ever complained about access and usage.

Nachteile:

It is difficult to think of cons...but if there was one thing I would change it would be to allow for larger photographs! Sometimes I just want to almost 'shout' about an item and its' value for the bidder!

Bidding Owl Feedback

Kommentare: The few stumbling blocks we had were very quickly resolved by the support staff. As of today, Bidding Owl meets all of our needs.

Vorteile:

Low price for a small foundation. We ventured into the online auction as a way to continue fundraising during Covid-19. Start-up costs of any kind deplete our funds very quickly. Bidding Owl was very attractive for this reason, as well as catering to the non-profit industry specifically.

Nachteile:

To be fair, auctions are new to us. At first the software did not seem intuitive, but after navigating the site multiple times, I found everything I needed and put the rest on the 'back burner' for future review.

Very Recommended Auction Software

Kommentare: The thing that I love about BiddingOwl is they have a very supportive team, as an NGO sometimes it is hard for us to pay the fee, but they're patiently waiting for us!

Vorteile:

My organization has been using BiddingOwl for more than 3 years, we loved it! It easy to use as the administrator and as the user.

Nachteile:

I think it would be great if BiddingOwl can provide the "clicks statistic" in the future so we can identify how many clicks on some particular item without really bidding on it.

Every Non-Profit Needs This

Kommentare: This is absolutely wonderful. The layout is so easy on the eyes. Other online auction sites lay out the items in a way that is messy or confusing. This is clean and clear and attractive. Technology is not a strong suit for me, I have had to call the help desk 3 times in the last 18 months. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is wonderful. She picks up the phone right away. She is patient and knowledgeable and kind. At first I was hesitant to use a site that charges a fee. But, I soon realized that the nominal fee is worth it.

Vorteile:

This is so user friendly. I also love that I can reach wider audiences with an online auction than a regular silent auction as I've used in the past.

Nachteile:

I guess I wish that the registration process for bidders was a tiny bit easier. I worry that some people hesitate to register.

Extremely happy with Bidding Owl!

Vorteile:

The ease of use. It was my first time using bidding software for a charity event, and I was up and running in minutes.

Nachteile:

I could get expensive, but so far we have managed to keep the fees reasonable for a non profit. Other than that, it was excellent.

For the most part it is easy to navigate. I taught myself all I needed to know about the program and did get everything set up on my own.

Nachteile:

I have yet to run into any issues as previously stated I taught myself how to set up our auction.

Outstanding customer service and great product

Kommentare: We are using Bidding Owl for our annual fundraiser. This is our 2nd year. Even easier then last year was with them. Very happy! Anytime I have a question I can easily reach them via email or phone. They are easy to talk to and truly seem to care about your business.

Vorteile:

The customer service is outstanding. I like the site, it's easy to use on my end and customers end but having good customer service is a massive selling point for me.

Nachteile:

Could use a few more features so make things a bit easier at time but this will not stop me from using their software again.

Bidding Owl helped us make our Silent Auction the most successful ever!

Vorteile:

The software was very user-friendly and the Help options and videos were extremely helpful! If I couldn't find an answer, Customer support were a quick email/phone call away...and they were quick to respond! It was also a breeze for our bidders to navigate as well.

Nachteile:

I suppose there were a couple times we weren't able to manipulate the grids the way we wanted to, but that's likely because none of us were too computer savvy. Having said that, it was surprisingly easy for us computer novices to get the information we needed. Again, Customer support clarified pretty much everything for us!
