Fantastic BI Tool

Vorteile:

The way they have laid out the processes for extracting and mapping data means with a little training you can leverage a lot of its power. Having never used Jedox before, and never having used any OLAP software previously, we hired a jedox consultant to come out and build our reporting cube, however, they did such an amazing job with explaining how everything worked, that with their help I was able to build most of what we needed myself.

Nachteile:

Documentation for some functions is lacking, it has a short explanation of what a function does, but not how it does it, or what you need to do to make it work. Report building tool is powerful in it's similarities to excel but has some limitations and performance issues under some circumstances.

jedox for financial reports

Kommentare: We use Jedox mainly for our financial software and property management software to create reports in the web interface. So the users are able to get reports without using the complex software.
Also we use Jedox to enter not such complex values into the database of the software.

Vorteile:

- the easy way to powerful intergrator to import data from an existing database - web-Interface easy to build (Excel-like) - hierarchies and drilldown

Nachteile:

- not usefull for long text - charts not so complex like in Excel - no debug-modus

Collect and Consolidate

Kommentare: We successfully implemented resource planning (top down and bottom up) with jedox.

Vorteile:

Easy to set up process that collect data from different people and to have them consolidated in a central place. Excel know how is sufficient for reporting

Nachteile:

No support for docker setup. Setup as different services is not supported

Kommentare: Have saved a lot of time in budgeting process and reduced manual work.

Vorteile:

Flexible and easy to implement. Also easy to learn for the end users.

Nachteile:

Need more functions for multiple selections etc.. Positive side is that the system is improving all the time.

Fast and great BI-Tool with SAP-Connector

Kommentare: Smooth interface to SAP. Jedox Ready to Run Moduls by Jedox Partner iXLOG

Vorteile:

Many customization options and interfaces to other systems. Various possibilities of evaluation and visualization. Very fast.

Nachteile:

Sorry, but nothing to improve. Great software.

Jedox is an excellent product in the multi-dimensional database category.

Kommentare: Great data-analytics product

Vorteile:

Jedox is similar in many ways to IBM Cognos TM1, but retains the original features of Applix TM1 in a modernized form. The database is also very good for non-financial data. It is a true multi-dimensional database with both Excel-based user-interfaces and web-based user-interfaces.

Nachteile:

Honestly, I have not found many cons so far, but I have not loaded any really large (i.e. multi-million record) databases yet. So there may be some pitfalls there. My current project has very complex data, but nothing larger than 100,000 records so far. So I cannot vouch for large databases yet.

Jedox in Controlling

Vorteile:

Flexibility: it can be developed based on individual requirements. We can use both the web-based version and the Excel add-in version, which gives the opportunity to create our own reports, too.

Nachteile:

Performance was the main problem. It was caused by the complexity of the software after being developed based on individual requirements.

Versatile use

Kommentare: Standard-reporting to teams and divisions are done more quickly and easily. We don't need much of consulting to implement another feature. Mostly we use consultants for enabling us to solve our needs ourself

Kommentare: Generally solid

Vorteile:

The ease of use \ simplicity and powerful modelling capability

Nachteile:

It is to find fault, but the loss of Excel Import Wizard in the latest release would be my biggest bug bear

Kommentare: It does what it should do. But "normal" controllers are not able to design own dashboards. They need a lot of training before.

Vorteile:

Excel like development of web dashboards. The integrator is very powerful and easy to user if you understand how it should be used

Nachteile:

Development of bigger web dashboards needs more then just excel knowledge to be fast. Bigger web Dashboards are Slow compared to classic web pages.

Great tool for financial and sales reporting and analysis.

Vorteile:

The excel integration is very easy to use and allows for fast access a range of data sources. Jedox is an adaptable platform that is easy to connect to multiple data sources.

Nachteile:

Security can be complex and is not always intuitive, occasional slow speeds or crashes when working with very large amounts of data.

The integrator part alone is worth reviewing this software

Vorteile:

It is very versatile and easy to setup and maintain. The Integrator tool is so powerful that you can use it for almost every purpose besides reporting and planning. It helps to implement almost every datasource in you system environment.

Nachteile:

I have found no cons on this software at all.

Vorteile:

Real data in real time, flexibility, reports

Nachteile:

A lot things to learn in order to use the tool in all its possibilities

Opinion of Hairdresser Klinck

Vorteile:

We especially liked the software that all evaluations for the field service can be called up without a lot of loading time. Furthermore, the Forcast creations are very time-saving

Nachteile:

The software demonstration was that the product can be used within 10 days. This is not possible. Unfortunately, there are occasionally load errors that can only be solved with the help of support.

Profitable management reports but need further development

Vorteile:

The supporting service of Jedox is really good, there is potencial in it due to its wide range of management reports.

Nachteile:

Many of the features are bugged in their early stages and takes a lot of time from non-developers to clear them out.

It's super flexible

the linking to Excel is slick, it easy to use too

sometimes the wheel spins i little longer than we'd like

Very Good Software with a lot of potential

Kommentare: Especially the replacement of an extensive and complex Excel leads to enthusiasm again and again. Both for the developer, the customer and at the end for the user. This has always been fun to look at

Vorteile:

the software is absolutely customer oriented. Due to the clear cycles it is known when it is the next upgrade. After an upgrade all old functions always worked and the new ones were mostly well documented for the partners. The knowledge base is also always up to date.

Nachteile:

Access to old updates is virtually non-existent. Also HotFix administration does not exist. The support helps there also only very limited.

Vorteile:

the visual aspect is very appealing, and real-time data is a real savior ! Very easy to develop reports with this tool. With a little imagination the sky is the limit ! ;)

Jedox for Financial Forecasting

Kommentare: Overall the experience is positive. The flexibility makes Jedox a good choice for teams that have a high variety of financial models for multiple financial metrics. You can do pretty much everything with it, and it's integration in our IT ecosystem was pretty seamless. The main challenges though are:
1) You can only get automation for a certain level of complexity and at the end of the day, you would always need offline models. The more complex the models in Jedox become, the more bugs you will have every time you rollover the models for the next cycle.
2) The Jedox team needs to work on improving the performance from a speed standpoint. Lastly - the team was really good. Always available and very diligent, responsive and fast in troubleshooting issues, which is a great plus.

Vorteile:

Extremely high level of flexibility and agility, as well as seamless sync with Excel

Nachteile:

Low speed of performance, plenty of bugs to fix and inability to achieve flawless automation when it comes to complex financial models.
