Vorteile:

Pricing is very straight forward - per doctor fee rather than per user or per client. High uptime availability, monthly updates, great tech support available via the app to all users.

Nachteile:

Lots of clicks to do something, inability to time stamp, refills pull from price originally put in ( so if it has increased, you lose that money, no way to lock medical records, not super-intuitive.

Kommentare: Overall I like the software. I have experience with multiple software, and this one is the easiest by far.

Vorteile:

Ease of use. Easy to train new staff. Doesn't take a lot of clicks to get what you need done

Nachteile:

bugs in software, runs quite slow most of the time, doesn't work well with other software (Dymo have to use old software because pulse doesn't support the new)

Kommentare: Overall this has not been a good experience and I would caution anyone from purchasing this software. If it were up to me we would cancel this service and return to Intravet.

Vorteile:

I like that the doctors signature can be saved in the system for rabies certificates. I like that medical records and vaccine history can be shared directly from the system without having to save as PDFs. I like the integration with rapport. I have also enjoyed working with [sensitive content hidden] she is kind and helpful.

Nachteile:

There are too many ways to do one thing. I find this to be tedious and harder to learn. The search feature is not functional at all. When looking up clients, patients, or codes- if I am typing in something specific the system should not populate everything containing those letters. Also employees are listed alphabetically by last name but their first name is listed first- why? We continue to find bugs and problems and have to use work arounds and pay close attention to invoices to make sure our clients are not double charged. The invoicing is awful- it should not be this complicated to add and remove items to an invoice. Invoicing in general is too rigid- it should not be hard to return items, refund items and void payments. The billing feature is not great- the bills print out in a format that can not be used in window envelopes which means I have to self address bills. This is time consuming and terrible. Also the finance charges did not show up on the bills- so we have had to write those off as clients pay their bills this cycle. The system is very slow. The layout of just about every single page in the medical record is overwhelming to look at making it really difficult to find items at a glance. The calendar function is not great- You cant look ahead on the schedule without it defaulting back to the current date- If I am looking at appointment dates in October I do not want to be taken back to dates in August. It is simply not user friendly for receptionists and managers.

Pusle: it's a good start, there are some important items that need addressed

Kommentare: I've had good tech experiences with my calls and chats. Sometimes, the queue can be a lengthy wait. I feel like techs are multi-tasking with other clinics at the same time. It seems to extend their replies when needing answers. This is my feeling.

Vorteile:

Cloud software program and the ability to process payments in the system. Working with Rapport is really beneficial for client communication.

Nachteile:

Functionality of the program. Administratively: time clock, unable to put in hours for a whole week. I have to wait until end the day before adding vacations, etc. There have been several issues with reports. It is not easy to get what you want. EOD reporting, you have to do it every day or you have to go to the Sales report to get what you need. The ability for it to auto run is absent to my knowledge on my last chat with support a month ago. Too much chasing in this program for items like this administratively. After using it for 6 months, we all struggle with it daily. Muscle memory seems to be challenging. There are multiple issues in Pulse. When I heard it was a combination of Avimark, E-Vet Practice, etc., I was excited that this might be a solid answer to record management systems. Avimark is an amazing, well-run program. I don't see a lot of the functionalities it has in Pulse. I've been surprised that its model might not have been put into play more. Pulse has some catching up to do to get to that level. I understand programming and testing takes time.

Kommentare: We switched to Pulse at the beginning of the year and have been very happy with the transition. It has a lot of really neat features that streamline workflow (it has a nice built in speech to text function).

Vorteile:

I love the wide array of functionality and how you can accomplish tasks in many different ways depending on your preferred work flow.

Nachteile:

It can be a little slow at times- but I have found that to be true for all cloud software.

Kommentare: Very good support and training! We switched from Hippo to Pulse and the transition was very smooth.

Vorteile:

Very user friendly and easy to learn! All the steps make sense and follow in a logical fashion.

Nachteile:

The name of pet you are looking at does not automatically fill in when you are viewing them and then make an appointment. Also would love a way to view all 3 clinics that share one database, on one appointment screen.

Great value, still needs improvements

Kommentare: Overall, it's good. I've used eVet/Pulse since 2014 between 2 practices. I'm used to it, I think it's a good product. I just know it could be better.

Vorteile:

It's fairly easy to learn and is user freindly

Nachteile:

LOTS of clicking to get to the right page. Also, all of the "enhancements" that they do are not usually actually productive or things that I've seen anyone ask for- making the border of the EMR pink or blue to indicate gender.....there are plenty of other requests that are more important than that.

EvetPractice

Kommentare: Evetpractice is a good general software system if you are willing to set aside being heard and ignored for things that you suggest to be updated. It works but has much that can be approved upon.

Vorteile:

Its easy ability to quickly learn using the software. It has many features that are essential to veterinary practices. The customer services is generally good. Its nice to be able to access the software with any device that has internet.

Nachteile:

The system and updates seem to have declined since Covetrus purchased it. Update are slow, issues arise alot more then before and customer service has started to decline. Many times we have asked for assistance and the agents have seemed annoyed. Requests for updates that are crucial seem to not be as important as they used to be. Its confusing because the Covetrus also owns several other veterinary software programs that have been around a very long time. Those programs have many of the options that are needed for this software yet they are not available on this system. I think there is much to be desired since the software was sold to larger company that values it customers less.

Evet Addition To The Practice

Kommentare: Overall, the transition has been great. It has improved my room turnover time, accuracy of invoices, and integrates with my in-house lab machines. Users can me modified to only have certain access, which has been great for security and accountability. Really don't have any major complaints with the software. Aside from improving financial reporting features I would give the software a 4.5/5.

Vorteile:

I like that it is cloud based. Eliminated a huge portion of my monthly IT bill. Customer support is great and very knowledgeable. Cost per month for the software is very reasonable. It was easy to learn and my whole staff was competent on the platform within days.

Nachteile:

The reporting features could use some tweaking. Some things can be very nuanced and the financial reports could do with some additions and upgrades. Things have been tough for my bookkeeper and I don't have a great avenue in order to iron out these issues. Customer support is great on daily Evet use and issues but reporting needs its own department of support.

Good value for smaller practices

Kommentare: This is a good product for the money for a smaller practice. We have outgrown it considerably (do not have days in end to work through data spreadsheets). We are currently looking to switch to A more robust system.

Vorteile:

On the user side this system is pretty easy to use and relatively inexpensive.

Nachteile:

Reporting functionality is terrible. Several of their reports simply don’t work (and they acknowledge this but still have them as an option to select. Once you find the reports that do work, you have to export to multiple excel spreadsheets then use your sort and search functionality to get any usable information. You must be very proficient with Excel to get any good data from this system.

Kommentare: In general technical support has been good and very responsive. The setup when I initially went to even brutal. It took many hours on my part getting things set up. I am not sure I would have gone through with Evet had I known that.

Vorteile:

Integration with many other apps, lab equipment.

Nachteile:

Very inefficient. It takes a million clicks to get anything done. Also, the inventory section is awful. It should alert at low inventory and not allow a charge to be put through on a zero inventory item. Improvements seem to come slowly. Recently there have been aesthetic changes but not much that truly improves the functionality of the software.

Dwindling Positives

Kommentare: When starting with eVetPractice, knew it was a newer software and maybe not be as robust as others, but had high expectations of improvements based on marketing. Few changes have been made. There are many things that have been known issues for years for lots of users, but no changes for those major flaws. Feel as if eVet has failed to keep its promises regarding improvements, flexibility, and frequency of meaningful updates based on customer feedback. Believe that since being purchased by Henry Schein, it has gone even more downhill. Less to like, lack of changes, lack of improvements, lack of responsiveness. Because of these reasons, the few things that were liked, are dwindling.

Vorteile:

User permissions, remote access and restrictions, time clock, distributor integrations for inventory, ability to toggle on or off lots of things (even small details), quick check out, integration with CareCredit, integration with outside and in house labs.

Nachteile:

Reports, Financials, Label Printer Integration, lack of frequent, meaningful updates, inability to alter inventory/medical details without involving financial components (must void payment and reprocess to make any changes), lagging, old “look”, difficult to navigate and succinctly review medical records, requires so many button clicks, lack of frequent time stamping, lab results “fall off” the recently run page after a certain number, inflexibility of whiteboard utilization or options, inability to enact mass changes with inventory, clients, or patients.

Pleased with eVetPractice

Kommentare: We have been very pleased with eVetPractice since we began using it in May 2018. We tried several other programs when we decided to go with a coud-based program, and we are glad that we chose eVetPractice. While no program is perfect, we feel that eVetPractice is the best option for our growing 3-doctor practice.

Vorteile:

eVetPractice is very user-friendly and intuitive. When we onboard new team members, they usually pick things up within the first two weeks.

Nachteile:

The reporting features of eVetPractice are far from perfect. Basic reports are OK, but if you are trying to run detailed reports for accounting and tracking a wide variety of KPIs, this part of eVet will frustrate you.

I love how easy Pulse is to navigate, I feel Pulse is very user friendly.

Kommentare: The initial training was not good. We were left to trial and error on many questions and we never did get our vx certificate problems resolved.

Vorteile:

Easy to look-up clients or pets, reports are easy to create

Moving around in client file, too many screens to enter basic info, very time consuming

Growing PIMS, Growing Pains

Kommentare: So far so good! We look forward to watching Pulse grow, and the adaptive nature of the program is very promising. Considering the detail they take into listening to the recommendations from users leads me to believe Pulse will be our PIMS for many years to come.

Vorteile:

Coming from years of using another server based PIMS, Pulse has been a dream come true. Invoicing is very simplified, and I felt the staff was able to pick up on it very quickly considering it is vastly different than our previous system. Adding in clients on the fly and the tasks are another feature that I find very helpful.

Nachteile:

The PDFS and boarding platform. The insane amount of PDFs that are saved are vexing. I do very much enjoy not having to save a PDF for the most bare bones item like a cage card. The boarding platform could also be revamped, it struggles with co-boarding multiple pets and the fact that you have to play with the time is frustrating. It would also be nice to have alerts when a specific Dr has a task that the Dr would see without going into the task system, IE a messaging program from staff to staff within the program.

Please don't buy this software - it is an inferior product and there are many far better choices

Kommentare: I have written, emailed and spoken with covetrus many times with my concerns. They continue to fall on deaf ears and are not addressed. I have one file that takes literally between 2-3 mintues to download every time I need to edit or add notes to a specific patient. Covetrus' response was that the file was too big and that there was little they could do to help my cause. I guess my time is not valuable to them.

Vorteile:

There are very few items about this software other than being cloud based that are beneficial

Nachteile:

The software is incredibly slow. Entering doctor notes is a painstaking process and choosing this software in my opinion is one of my managements biggest mistakes. The software is not user friendly, entering notes is very difficult. Navigating within the program to find a patients weight, last time a medication was dispensed, editing notes and many other tasks are significantly more difficult that they should be. Reminders don't work well. Refilling prescriptions is much more difficult.

Excellent cloud solution, a good value

Kommentare: EvetPractice has eased my anxiety around daily backups, redundancy and hardware failures. Their update management has never left us without functional software. I have recommended and assisted 3 other hospitals transition to EvetPractice and will continue to do so.

Vorteile:

EvetPractice allowed us to move to a paperless process. Integrations with 3rd party products have eased tasks like reminders and lab result management. Pricing is very straight forward - per doctor fee rather than per user or per client. High uptime availability, monthly updates, great tech support available via the app to all users.

Nachteile:

reporting is only somewhat customizable. Many canned reports are provided, but new reports cannot be created by user

Vorteile:

Easy to use. Training is fast and simple.

Nachteile:

Consistent speed issues Pules is fully aware of. Been going on for years and I have to complain to upper management before problems are addressed. Starts out once or twice a week until it becomes a daily issue. None stop debates with support when its a know issue. Other bugs in software that have been issues for years are not addressed. None of this was a problem before Covetrus purchased from Evet.

Basic software

Kommentare: Overall I think it’s a great program to use, I don’t think it’s bad at all, there are definitely worse. You can teach anyone probably in a day or two. It’s very self explanatory. Coming from Cornerstone I picked it up in about a day, convenient to use.

Vorteile:

What I like best is it’s easy to use and figure out. I had only used cornerstone before and it’s similar. I’ve only used AVImark for a few days, I find it harder that EVetPractice. I do enjoy some features, like how you can easily access the invoicing from more than one place, making notes are easy, editing is easy, and understanding the schedule/scheduling is VERY easy. Emailing medical records and estimates is a really cool feature. You can even save formats of what document you are sending.

Nachteile:

Some of my issues, there aren’t as many features from what I’m used too. I find cornerstone has a lot of options of what you want. One thing I find irritating is no matter how long it’s been is you can edit notes or make changes. Whereas cornerstone you can “finalize” your notes so no one else can change it, but add on things you forget and it tells you when and who added something. Making estimates for patients are also not my favorite. There are options for group codes or individual codes. Versus one place where you can look up either... confusing... then when you save the estimate it’s hard to find. I wish I showed up in the medical record that we made one and can look at a finalized version of the estimate. But instead you have to find the estimate tab, and in a small box it has today’s date, well you need to click on that box to find other estimates. It shows up in the original format so you can continue to make adjustments which can be useful, but it’s just confusing. Imputing vaccine history is also just a train wreck... it takes me forever to input one, now try adding a full vaccine history, or bloodwork reminders... headache... another headache feature is transferring your bloodwork results. Obviously IDEXX made cornerstone so it’s very easy for the two to communicate, but it’s kind of a task to attach bloodwork to each patient, or finally figure out how to transfer the patient to the lab station.

Kommentare: The transition was a nightmare to say the least but I get that, would happen with any transition, our reminders were set up incorrectly and it took us a year to catch up because when you make changes it only changes going forward, customer support is through chat and sometimes they just don't understand what we need.

Vorteile:

Not much I like about this system. It has been around long enough that most of the "bugs" should have been worked out and any changes should be fine tuning. There are some real problems with this program and the people writing the program have clearly never used in a practice setting.

Nachteile:

The reports, converting treatment plans to actual charges, inventory difficulties, not having an alert when a presciption label is going to print an expired date, not able to put in different discounts for different items for employees, not being able to have a large computer screen in our treatment area that does not time out...

Not a good fit for mixed or large animal practice, continued soliciation phonecalls and emails.

Kommentare: OnceI was out of the initial purchase and training period everything went downhill quickly.
From the first payment I had an issue with using my rewards credit card; specifically an error message that information was missing and transaction had to be reentered. When I called eVetPractice they stated that it was an issue with Intuit, and they could not help me. I chose to do business with eVetPractice, not Intuit; eVetPractice chose to use Intuit for their payment system and should be doing the legwork. We practitioners are busy, our time is valuable, and I was paying them for their service. These are the truly frustrating issues of practice ownership. In the end it was a lot of hassle for what turned out to be a glorified vaccination reminder program for my practice.
To summarize my issues:
1) The system is cloud based, yet not apparently functional for all browsers. Frustrations were akin to Zoetis' website/dashboard.
2) Solicitation. I received several calls and from their partners wanting me to use their payment systems, or buy their product. I am still getting these emails and calls months after discontinuing eVetPractice. This is frustrating especially after the experience with Intuit.
3) Not user friendly for other members of my staff, they became frustrated quickly, even though one had sat in on the training with me. No one besides myself even attempted to use it.
4)At startup I had asked about what would happen to my client records if I chose to no longer use the program. I was told that I would have access to the records, just not be able to use the program or change anything, for a few months afterward. This was not the case, I was locked out as soon as my subscription was over.
Even as I was writing this I received a call from Bluefin, asking specifically to speak to me (not my manager, who is capable) during office hours. The representative stated that eVetPractice had asked them to reach out to me and that he knew he was catching me at a bad time.

We regret that you did not enjoy the software. The payment situation with Intuit was frustrating. We contacted Intuit¿s IT as we do not have access to their system. We did follow up, but you ended our service shortly after. The system will run on browsers including: IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Recent versions of these browsers should have no problem, but outdated may. Bluefin does reach out to clients to explain benefits of an integrated payment solution. You were our contact, they would have asked for you. We don¿t have any other partners that should have contacted you. The system is designed to be intuitive, but we encourage all staff be trained during the setup, and we check in regularly. It is not possible for us to tell who is comfortable with the system unless it¿s communicated. It is not standard to store data after ending service. We can provide that for a reduced cost, upon request. You asked that we end your service and said there was nothing else needed.
