Die goldenen Zeit sind vorbei

Kommentare: Wir haben die FME mit einem kleinen Projekt betreut. Ein verwertbares Ergebnis wurde nie geliefert. Stattdessen durften wir uns im Monatstakt mit neuen Account- und Projektmanagern auseinandersetzen. Die goldenen Zeit dieses Dienstleisters sind vorbei.

Vorteile:

Super Powerful, Best in class product.

Kommentare: We use FME for conversion of data formats, reprojection of spatial files, the generation of new geospatial products from existing datasets... and many many more things. Honestly it's hard to overstate how much I love this product, and what it does to help our business. Fantastic product, and even better support.

Vorteile:

Love how flexible this product is. If you can think of an ETL pipeline, it can do it.

Nachteile:

Can be confusing to troubleshoot your workbenches.

FME Review

Kommentare: it is a must have tool if the user uses geo related data

Vorteile:

I like the user friendliness of FME, you need to have some knowledge in order to use it because you have to know which functionality to add to the transformation process. It is very useful for geospatial data and it is integrated with GIS systems which makes fme very efficient

Nachteile:

It is not the cheapest on the market, but it is effective

Vorteile:

This software is very valuable when it comes to processing of large quantity of data.

Nachteile:

Too long to get trained. There are many factors to take into consideration when pricing the software. It is on the expensive side.

* exceptional big dataset computing performance and interoperability * * cost / trials / grants licenses opportunities * software interface and ux usability spatial etl * very open to the idea of sharing (pre-built workspaces, free resources to learn, phenomenal support staff and community for questions, & data, in ever aspect of the word)

Nachteile:

* data inspector could use some graphics update * workspace workflow documentation has yet to come at ease * would be interested attending/completing lesson on complex/expert-level operations similar to their advance guide * sometimes raster readers can play tricks on really is what * would be thankful if example of use would be included on every transformer help page

Review after a decades of use

Kommentare: Its best in the market with a strong user community and safe provides best in class training and supprot

Vorteile:

its intuitive UI and easy to drag and drop transformers

Nachteile:

Not even a single feature to write here. The product is awsome

You should learn and use this tool, it will take your work easy

Kommentare: My overall experience is perfect with FME, I am using about 1 year it and I think I will use in my whole work life. I advice all people to use FME

You can visualize all type data and change data type to each other

Nachteile:

I did not see any bad feature in FME tool

Data processing & manipulation made easy

Kommentare: Our business wouldn't function nearly as seamlessly as it does without FME. From start to finish, we use FME in every step of the way. There is no other software on the market that can do everything FME does and translate to so many different platforms like FME.

Vorteile:

If you want to migrate or transform data, FME makes it easy. Whatever task you need to apply to your data, FME probably has a transformer to accomplish it. You don't have to be a programmer to write scripts. The GUI interface makes it easy to build scripts for anyone.

Nachteile:

Sometimes, with large datasets, it can have memory allocation problems.

FME can do just about anything

Kommentare: Overall, I use this software on a daily basis to solve complex problems for my clients.

Vorteile:

What I like most about FME is the visual nature of it and the feature caching. Since feature caching was introduced a few years ago, it has made debugging a workspace so much faster. I can really see how my data is changing on the fly.

Nachteile:

I wish it were easier to maintain and compare different versions of my workspace. For example, I'd like to compare a DEV/TEST/PROD version of a workbench. Or compare earlier versions with my current version.

Infinite possibilities

Vorteile:

Complete set of transformers that make you able to manipulate the geometry and the attributes as you want. It supports almost all kind of formats. You can use python to increase possibilities.

Nachteile:

The python scripting interface could be improved.

The tool for spatial (and some other) data ETL and manipulation

Vorteile:

The flexibility of processing and built-in connectors for example ArcGIS Online make it easy to get started quickly

Nachteile:

We sometimes find it more difficult than we expect to take desktop workbenches and run these in the cloud

Best geoprocessing tool ever

Vorteile:

The infinite possibilities it offers with its numerous tools, the overall performance, the ease to track issues and the possibility to adapt processes to many different projects.

Nachteile:

There is a bit of a learning curve to get confortable using it, but its efficiency is worth the initial efforts.

Once you get past the learning curve, it's an absolute must!

Vorteile:

The graphical interface is just amazing. Like building a Lego set but to handle massive amounts of data regardless it's format. I use it for handling millions of CSV lines, but it's strength lies with map formats. I like the continuous improvement of the product as well.

Nachteile:

There is a steep learning curve, specially in selecting which tool to use and how to configure it, but once you get a hold of it it is a breeze to manipulate your data to tell you stories....

Allows seamless translation of any dataset I ever encounter.

Vorteile:

This is the absolute best GIS data translation software around. It allows me to easily and quickly convert to and from every type of GIS data format I encounter. I can do quick and easy GUI translations and for more complex translations, I can create and modify FME scripts to tackle my project.
