I like how easy it is to prepare optimal geometries for analyses out of complex ones. SpaceClaim has specific tools for this purpose and they find errors automaticly.
Simulations require a lot of processing power and time. Therefore it is hard to run simulations on Laptops.

The modeling software you need.
Kommentare: Overall, ANSYS SpaceClaim allows users to repair models, make modifications, and prepare geometries for further analysis.
Vorteile:
What I like about this software is its ability to perform modeling operations quickly and efficiently. You can modify geometries by rotating or resizing them.
Nachteile:
I think ANSYS SpaceClaim is a powerful and user-friendly tool; therefore, I don't find any aspects of it that I dislike.
Spacelaim above all other modeling software
Vorteile:
Fast, friendly user interface, parametric modeling, optimization, we can spend more time addressing actual engineering problems rather than modeling on software.
Nachteile:
design tree is missing (commands that we use). That can be enabled in other way but should have been a default feature.

Spaceclaim just isn't as intuitive as other CAD packages
Vorteile:
SpaceClaim is nice for what it can do well - quick changes to geometry within workbench. But that's it.
Nachteile:
Anything remotely more complex than changing the size of a fillet or a hole is going to be a pain to do in spaceclaim. I'd recommend almost any other software instead.

Professional 3D modeling and simulation tool
Kommentare: I have worked with SolidWorks for design 3D models. But when it comes to simulation Solidworks have very limited options. Then seniors suggest me to use ANSYS for the simulation purposes. More advanced simulations can be modelled with ANSYS. It is a great tool. Plenty of tutorials can be found online. Correctly following the design steps will lead to successful simulation.
Vorteile:
This tool is recommended by most of the professional experts for the simulation of 3D models. Basic operations are very similar to ordinary CAD tools. Advanced simulations can be modelled and simulated. Lot of tutorials and documentation are available on the internet.
Nachteile:
It requires basic mechanical engineering knowledge there for not much suitable for beginners. Highly advanced tool than other CAD tools. Simulations require a lot of processing power and time. Therefore it is hard to run simulations on Laptops.

Ansys SpaceClaim: Best Model Cleanup Tool for Design Validations
Kommentare: The overall experience with Ansys SpaceClaim is very good and it helps me to make any small changes very quickly and reiterate the simulation quickly and easily.
Vorteile:
Ansys SpaceClaim helps in easy modification of design and also heavily helps in design simplification. The wide variety of tools available helps in creating and removing features and also for splitting and joining two surfaces. The thing which I like the most is the convenience which it provides as it becomes so easy to make simple design changes then and there and reiterate the simulation.
Nachteile:
Ansys SpaceClaim fulfill all the requirements which it intends to and with time, it has improved a lot. The least that I like is its user interface.

ANSYS for all Engineering fields
Kommentare: I used this software for my Master's degree research. it provided me with satisfactory results and helped to save a lot of my time. these results were compared with experimental results and they almost matched.
Vorteile:
First of all this software is not for specific engineering it can be used by every engineering department. it contains different types of tools that can fulfill the requirements of all engineering fields. it is also a user-friendly software and complete user guidance is available. This software has the ability to accept geometries designed in other softwares. this software basically consists of four different steps. first is a Modular design where the user can design his/her own geometry. The second step consists of meshing where geometry is divided into smaller portions to apply the required equation solvers. the third step is setup where boundary conditions are applied. the last step contains results where it can be analyzed through tabular or graphical representation.
Nachteile:
This software is very heavy and requires a powerful computing power for accurate results. it crushes during simulations after which you will have to restart all of your work.

Handy CAD inside a CAE
Vorteile:
Top Level simulation software like ANSYS, Msc etc, expects us to have design file ready for analysis, the option to edit our design inside a CAE software is very minimal. SpaceClaim is a boon in such cases where you can open it within your ANSYS Mechanical and modify if any changes are needed and then proceed with further analysis, SpaceClaim is one of the good CAD tools with which we can build robust models from scratch for analysis. It becomes extremely powerful when used with ANSYS
Nachteile:
We have mostly used the student version of Ansys and SpaceClaim failed to import some models which were build in other softwares like CREO or SOILDWORKS, that is the main issue which we faces

SpaceClaim Overview
Kommentare: I prefer SolidWorks for 3D modeling over SpaceClaim for a variety of reasons, the most important of which is that I can use the model from the SolidWorks application in a variety of applications. I also find SolidWorks to be easier to model in than SpaceClaim.
Vorteile:
I used SpaceClaim to create 2D and 3D drawings. It was very useful and simple to use. It is also simpler than Design Modular (the previous Ansys modeling software) and provides unlimited editing options.
Nachteile:
I believe that the software could be improved. When it comes to loading time, it is extremely inconvenient; whenever you want to open a model, you must wait a significant amount of time for it to open.
My. Best software for electrical and electronics designs.
Kommentare: I make use of Ansys design software for electrical and electronics circuit modelling and designs.
Vorteile:
All features incorporated into Ansys spaceclaim suite me and proved to be useful to me.
Nachteile:
I don't have any regrets or any hassle using Ansys spaceclaim software for my designs.
Engineering simulation software
Vorteile:
SpaceClaim is useful software and I am also suprised, how quickly changes can be made to an object. Repairing of model or deleting some surfaces are more easy then in competitive programs. It is very user-friendly software.
Nachteile:
The documentation is quite poor. Also have problem with large object processing, when program start lags.
Generating geometries with Ansys SpaceClaim
Kommentare: It helped me a lot in removing the small details in the geometry for the FEA analysis studies of the parts to be produced by plastic injection.
Vorteile:
Since Ansys SpaceClaim is not element-based, it does not give an error warning due to previous operations. It is a suitable platform for removing radii and small details on the model from the design.
Nachteile:
The fact that there are few alternatives to mate the parts makes the user tired.

Simplicity and sheet metal functionality. The best CAD tool for simple 3D print designs and modifications of existing STL files.
Nachteile:
Assemblies are not easy to handle. A very light form of PDM would be good.
Helpful for engineering simulations
Kommentare: It's a great software for especially engineers that need simulations and calculations to resolve for their problems.
Vorteile:
I'm using ANSYS since college as it helped a lot with my engineering projects and now I continue at work for mechanical and structural analysis now.
Nachteile:
When I get an error for analysis, I can't find the reason easily. There are huge tutorials for the software but it's not so easy to find the problems solutions.
Easiest and fastest design and modelling software
Vorteile:
The direct editing philosophy is amazing. You can design very fast and edit any kind of file format as well. Have never seen a software that is that good at sheet metal
Nachteile:
Semantic pmi is really missing, very useful for its users.
This software really changed the way we design our equipment.
Kommentare: For our company its the construction optimisation and problem-solving where we have benefited most.
Vorteile:
ANSYS really changed the way we model our equipment, vibratory machinery. Until now we were relying primarily on our experience and expertise. With modal analysis, we were able to identify problems that weren't obvious before. This in return helped us to optimise our constructions and be more competitive on the market.
Nachteile:
The software is great but it is also as good as the engineer who is interpreting the results. Some areas of the software still need to be improved like the mesh generator.
ANSYS SpaceClaim Review

ANSYS SpaceClaim is a great tool for creating and modifying 3D geometry. It also great tool for preparing geometry for FEA simulation.
Nachteile:
It will be great to have inbuilt videos/demos for help with features.
Ansys Fluent: OK for aerodynamics, NOK for aeroacoustics
Kommentare: I used Ansys Fluent. My main focus was aeroacoustics. But I also used it for aerodynamics simulations.
Vorteile:
I used this tool for Fluent. Aerodynamics simulations are nice and easy. I got used to it very fast. And cheap.
Nachteile:
Aeroacoustics capability is not effective for 1:1 scale vehicle (car) models. Actually, it is not a problem of the tool, but the method it uses. I prefer LBM based softwares compared to N-S solutions. LBM is more practical in terms of time, but expensive.
Good CAD for ANSYS
Kommentare: Good overall experience with Ansys SpaceClaim. Although, I hope ANSYS does not forget about Design Modeler and make SpaceClaim the exclusive CAD package in Workbench.
Vorteile:
What I find great about ANSYS SpaceClaim is its ease of integration with other application under the ANSYS Workbench software. This allows the user to complete the geometry and prepare it for CFD setup directly from the CAD software. In addition, the continuous support and updates, as well as the nice user interface adds to the software overall quality.
Nachteile:
There are some aspects of SpaceClaim that I don't particularly like. They're mostly not related to the software itself, but rather the type of CAD methodology used. For example I prefer highly parametric design, as well as feature based CAD modelling.
3D modeling and simulation CFD
Vorteile:
During my engineering, I used several software such as Solidwoeks, Katia or programming on MAtlab and Fortran, but my discovery of Ansys changed and made my work of solving equations for mechanical problems easier. More complex simulations can be modelled with Ansys. Ansys contains several products depending on the application areas. Tutorials of all kinds are available online and free of charge. A free version is available for students.
Nachteile:
The only downside is to provide a computing station in order to take advantage of Ansys products especially in 3D modeling.
Reliable CFD Analysis Tool For Vehicle Body Design
Kommentare: We are using Fluent to create a flow model of vehicle dynamic in order to obtain related air resistance and improve our vehicle body design. It's quite useful and reliable, general results are %98 identical with wind tunnel results which are measured via tools.
Vorteile:
Reliable data for CFD analysis in pre-test phase.
Nachteile:
It requires very high computer specification for seamless experience.
ANSYS Workbench is just amazing
Kommentare: ANSYS has gone and made a designer's job easier. I mean,most designers will agree that undertaking analysis the conventional way is, lets be honest, way too tedious in this era. Now ANSYS has gone and made things much simpler for us. And with the user friendly GUI of the Workbench, ANSYS has taken ease and reliability of analysis several notches up. That being said, it is also to be noted that with the above mentioned user-friendliness inclusions has enhanced the potency of the software. The accuracy and reliability of solutions dished out by the software is spot on. Also for small to medium sized analysis (which is done most of the time), ANSYS does not take a toll on the PC. Analysis times are quite fast. Overall a great software to have for analysis, simulations, design optimization, design verification, etc. This, coupled with decades of development of this software makes it one of the must haves for any design organization.
Vorteile:
Excellent GUI. Very user friendly. High accuracy and reliability. Has numerous modules for all types of analysis.
Nachteile:
Reading mesh of imported geometry should be worked upon a little bit. Several instances have occurred wherein mesh was not read correctly leading to waste of time.
Run Analysis Run
Kommentare: I've been using this program since university. Best way to run analysis based on FEM.
Vorteile:
Ansys has so many module to run analysis what do you need.
Nachteile:
You must be careful when preparation of analysis. You will forgot the tools and details If you don't use this program continuously.
