Great product. so easy to use

Kommentare: The reports are a good tool that i use often.
For our small company it works very well.

Vorteile:

I like the fact that you can enter the information into sherware and it puts it into Quickbooks.

Nachteile:

I can't think of anything that has been a problem.

Nachteile:

AFE MODULE DOES NOT LET YOU INPUT DATA BY AFE # .. DOES NOT TRANSFER GROSS REVENUE TO QUICKBOOKS IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE WORKING INTEREST OWNERS FOR A LEASE, ONLY COMPANY'S SHARE GETS POSTED, THEREFORE DOES NOT MATCH UP WITH 1099 GROSS FROM PURCHASER. NEEDS TO BE WAY SHOW 100% GROSS THEN ANOTHER CREDIT CATAGORY FOR REVENUE THAT WAS RELEASED TO OTHER WI/RI, AS IT IS RED FLAG TO IRS IF 1099 AMOUNT DOES NOT SHOW ON TAX RETURN

Does the Job, but extremely buggy

Kommentare: Although it does the job and allows you to keep track of your revenue and expenses but you must be extremely particular when entering any revenues or expenses. The bugs in this software sharpen the learning curve quite a bit but once you figure out all its kinks it can take care of your oil and gas accounting. If the developers were to workout the bugs at a more rapid pace, I feel this can become a solid software.

Vorteile:

- Fairly Simple UI - Pretty Decent Owner Management - QB Integration - Bank/ACH functions built-in - Updates & bug fixes

Nachteile:

- EXTREMELY BUGGY - Have to be careful and very particular when typing/entering any information because of bugs. - Built in reports aren't always helpful. Custom reporting is EXTREMELY hard and back-end files are all over the place when building custom reports. - Export to excel is very poorly formatted - Huge learning curve because of all the bugs.

It's so easy to use

Kommentare: The prior software required several steps and modules to just write a check. This software simplifies all tasks greatly.

Vorteile:

It integrates with Quickbooks. I like Quickbooks.

Nachteile:

The setup was difficult. However it would have been difficult with any software. It was a huge learning curve for me, but a good one. It helped me to understand the way the software works.

SherWare Simplifies

Kommentare: Our experience has been wonderful, and the SherWare team has been there anytime we did have questions about the software. This program has cut back on the work we have to do each monthly run, and especially at the end of the year getting our 1099's prepared. My for sure preferred oil & gas software now!

Vorteile:

Once you get setup and going, SherWare is extremely easy to use and has integrated perfectly with QuickBooks software. I love that we no longer have to input the same information into two separate programs.

Nachteile:

My procrastination in getting it set up for use.

Great product with many options

Kommentare: I have nothing to compare this software to because when I started in 2000 I had never used any of the competing software programs. I researched many and found this to be most compatible for my situation mostly because of the option to integrate with QuickBooks. I have found that feature to be great when it comes to not having to do duplicate entries in two different programs. Once I started using the software (and by the way, I was a novice to the oil and gas industry), I was relying heavily on the customer support department to help me through the initial trials and tribulations and they were always just a phone call away and able to assist me with all of my issues. I attended several of the seminars they held which just furthered my knowledge of the software and allowed me to gain knowledge on how to view more reports and utilize the software in a more effective matter. Today I don't have to contact support as often as the earlier days however they (customer support) are always quick to answer my questions and help as much as they can with whatever issue and/or issues I am experiencing. I really have no cons that I can think of. I have even made suggestions in the past as to how to improve the software and it was taken in to consideration and even utilized with updates. Would highly recommend this software to anyone considering changing their current software or starting out new as I did.

Quickbooks Compatible Oil & Gas Software

Kommentare: Worked well for the companies I was using it for, none of which were large or had a ton of transactions. It is a good option for the price. I also only paid for basic support, and that was never an issue, I always got the help I needed in a timely manner. I have another client who uses a much more expensive software program, I do find that easier to use, but it was not worth the cost for what I needed.

Vorteile:

Integrates with QuickBooks, and the price. Handles all the basic needs for revenue/well tracking, distributions, and 1099 reporting.

Nachteile:

Doesn't function as smoothly as some other O&G software I've used, but they were also much more expensive.

It’s just “okay”

Kommentare: It’s okay. That’s about all I can say. It’s not overly good or terribly bad. Just okay.

Vorteile:

Automated calculations, keeps track of royalty amounts

Nachteile:

Too confusing with unnecessary and some unneeded features

Gets the job done but not always user friendly

Kommentare: Overall I find the software very useful and like that I can integrate with QuickBooks. It makes my life a lot easier with monthly distributions. I think that the interface could use some updates and I wish it were easier to customize.

Vorteile:

This software saves me a lot of time each month with investor distributions and I like that it integrates with Quickbooks

Nachteile:

It is hard to customize without contacting support and they then ask for additional money. It also feels somewhat dated in the functionality.

SherWare provides an affordable option for smaller independent oil and gas companies

Kommentare: Pros - SherWare provides the necessary tools for use in the Oil and Gas industry accounting without the cost associated with many other industry programs. By linking with QuickBooks, it allows small to medium-sized companies to account for JIBs, royalties, LOEs and other costs by well, lease and project while still working within an accounting environment they are familiar with and that is user-friendly. Cons - It lacks some of the functionality that would make it easier to use such as the ability to drill down to supporting entries. The report writer, although very powerful, is difficult to use. The best use I have found for it is to pull the data from the program, export it as data only to excel and create a pivot table in excel to manipulate the data.

sherware opinion

Kommentare: we have a lot of wells and vast amount of investment interests and it keeps everyone on track and production divisions in order

Vorteile:

works well with quickbooks most of the time. keeps track of on monthly bases and keeps balances rolling forward

Nachteile:

takes hours to get customer support to call back when you're trying to make deadlines there are communication issues between sherware and quickbooks sometimes house gas module is hard on calculating

total lack of customer support response when we really need help

can not solve the payment of royalties integrated from Sherware to QB

Was a cust. from 2003,vacated 2011..once fairly priced now too high to re-engage

Kommentare: Sherware,around 2003, became an add-on and sole link with Quick Books.Became the only O&G acctg program to pair-up with QB. Gained QB "seal of approval" Company(Sherware) still suffers from a thorough training guide and product instruction program. In our Tulsa,Ok. area there were only three users which I could find as active to relate with. I hired one lady from Tahlala,Ok. to visit our office but she was one dimensional and couldn't train anyone. Sherware asks a minimum $3500. to upgrade what we have..and, re-engage us as a customer/member. No sale...by me. I would come back as a customer but only on the terms which we can afford. Looks like Sherware have
priced yourselves out of range for we former, "fallen-away" clients !
I tried direct dealing by phone..and was basically "dissed" relative
to "our way or the highway". You asked for my survey.Think about this.
All I want is to use what we have had..and have somebody train our existing
accountant, and for any future person in the job.

Great Oil & Gas Software for a small/medium company

Kommentare: Very easy to use and maintain good accurate well records. Have recently had to learn Ogsys software and am in disbelief how bad it was compared to Sherware. I wish I could upload excel revenue files. All in all, I would definitely recommend this software.

Still going strong

Kommentare: This has helped make our process for revenue runs way smoother and literally cuts my time in half. There is still a lot of learning I have to do in the software but I cross those obstacles as they come.

Vorteile:

The ease of being able to have one run for all of the multiple wells/projects my client has.

Nachteile:

I have to force a software update a lot. Sometimes just for it to recognize I have checks to print after I have closed my run.

Great software and support for the oil & gas industry

Kommentare: We have been using Sherware for about 7 years and are completely pleased with it. It tight and seamless integration with Quickbooks allow us to manage our wells, while maintaining accurate financial information and reports. The few times that we have needed their support has been very good. They have always responded in a short time frame and have worked through any issues or questions that we have. I would recommend Sherware to anyone in the oil and gas industry.

Small Oil & Gas Company

Kommentare: We have had great success using Sherware software. It works well with QuickBooks and give all of our working interest and royalty owners good information to go with their checks and at year end. When ever I have a question about how to do something or what I am doing wrong, Sherware support is great, they are quick to get back to me and have online tutorials to help me figure things out. I would definitely choose it again.

Overall my experience with this software has been very good. I've used it for 9 years.

Kommentare: Many improvements have been made since I started using SherWare. When I started, I remember that making the appropriate connections with QuickBooks accounts was challenging, and even now, some transactions come into QB oddly. Customer Service has always been outstanding, and I have always gotten help quickly to resolve my issues. I have never used any other disbursement software, so I can't make any comparisons.

A fantastic oil and gas package integrated with Quick Books.

We have been a customer of Sherware since it's inception. We really like how easy it is to use with Quick Books. It really fits the industry broadly as any off sight software company can. They do have a customer wish list for anything that you would like to see the program to do. It is very affordable. We strongly indorse it.

Easy, relatively intuitive

Kommentare: It works seamlessly with QuickBooks. It is easy to use. Set up is where you can really get messed up, but if you take your time (go to their instructional seminar) and are very careful...it works great! I have been using it for over 5 years now and have had very few problems. Support is very helpful, but obviously they can't know about your company structure, so you have to be somewhat self supporting.

Used software for over 10 years

Kommentare: For an inexpensive software SheWare works great for the small independent oil and gas company. I would say there are two cons that I would comment on. One is the customer service isn't always as quick to respond to emails and the the other is that I wish there were date sensitive decks.

Always reliable

Kommentare: It is easy to use once you get use to the terminology. I played around with it alot before I figured things out.

Vorteile:

Nothing. When updating intuit, it was not compatible. Paid alot of money not to be able to use.

Nachteile:

Having to pay for tech support and not being able to even use the program
