Its a good resource

Vorteile:

Easy to use. I like the customer service. I like the saved searches. I like the organization of the site.

Nachteile:

Even though it's very organized, it's a lot and can be overwhelming. But, otherwise a very good product.

I am a grant writer and I love this program.

Kommentare: 1. Ability to research grants and access the necessary details. 2. Store all documents in one location and share access to those documents with only the appropriate people.

Vorteile:

I like the grant search functions but most importantly the grant tracking from beginning to end. I've been writing grants for 30 years, back before the internet, so I really understand and appreciate all this program does to help find and manage grants. The tutorials are short and to the point so when I need to learn about a function I have immediate access to learn how to do it. Having the ability to track and report with reminders of deadlines is one of the most valuable features in my mind especially in larger organizations that are juggling the management/compliance of many grants. For a large organization the cost of this software replaces a staff position that would cost as much but I'm convinced would be less efficient and likely more exposed to more errors. I would like to see eCivis come up with a smaller, affordable, simplified version (i.e. less bells & whistles) for small non-profits that just need to manage a handful of grants. Grant searching, writing and managing the grant really cut into programmatic responsibilities for these smaller organizations.

Nachteile:

I don't really dislike anything about this software. From time-to-time I have thoughts of little things I wish were done differently or they would add but they haven't been important enough to keep record of.

As a Grants Researcher, it gives me great leads to new grant request for proposals!

Kommentare: This software helps me when searching for grants for our faculty on campus.
Also, I put together a bi monthly report with upcoming deadlines for grants that might be of interest of anybody on our campus, and the Daily New and Updated reports that I get from eCivis is an invaluable tool for that purpose.

Vorteile:

Daily New and Updated Grants Notification. Easy to navigate website. Great tool for researching specific Primary Investigators needs; from programmatic needed funds, to specific disease or research needs.

Nachteile:

Some are not relevant to my needs. Since I am solely interested in looking for open calls for proposals for grants health related, I do not utilize the website for all of its capacity, so my input is limited to what I used, which is the daily new grant and updated notifications.

Ecivis is amazing!

Vorteile:

eCivis is an easy to use software that allows us the opportunity to research and apply for grants. Each grant is broken down to a concise summary that gives users the opportunity to review the grant to determine if they are eligible to apply. Users should review the grant's NOFO for more details, but users don't have to feel like they are wasting time by reviewing pages of a NOFO to find out they are not eligible to apply.

Nachteile:

The search engine requires the user to be specific with its search requests. We work at a nonprofit museum and are looking for funding of restoration projects, museum collection assistance, and group tours, but sometimes when searching through eCivis it becomes difficult to find the required grants. We have been looking for restoration and preservation grants for buildings and items, but the search engine provides grants for paintings or other art related pieces.

Vorteile:

The software allow the search criteria to take in several fields to search for the grants. It can search for several grants categorically and by the entities providing grant opportunities. It allows the users to save their grant search criteria for several tropics so the users don't need to recreate the search criteria . The software is also being develop where the information can be retained for each grants that was applied for and awarded. It makes a great tracking system instead of maintaining several spreadsheet to track all of the grants.

Nachteile:

Navigating and trying to figure where everything is located. Even during training, I got lost of which tabulation that the trainer was in. It is easy once I figured out where everything is.

Cloud-based management lets me access my grant files from anywhere.

Kommentare: Ease of use, single source for grants from beginning (prospecting and application) to end (grant management and closure), online platform accessible from anywhere, ability for multiple users, and great customer service.

Vorteile:

The thing I like most is that I can access my files even when not at my desk. Once I got the hang of using the system (the online video tutorials were really helpful), it has become a handy tool for keeping my grant management files organized. I also utilize the grant search functions on a weekly basis. I like that I can set up search alerts for specific words and topics. I've also had excellent experience with customer service. Each time I've had a question or concern, they have responded to my inquiry right away and resolved the issue quickly. Overall, it's been nice to have a single tool to search for grants, manage applications, and manage awarded grants all in one place.

Nachteile:

The only thing I wish was a little better was the geographic filter on the grant search function. I still get a lot of grants pop up in my searches that are not available in my state or region.

I wish the process was a little more user-friendly as often, there is little time for data entry.

Vorteile:

I completely LOVE the ability to search for grants and some of the resources attached. The research capability is the MAIN reason we have not totally stopped using eCivis. This is a wonderful tool and a much appreciated benefit.

Nachteile:

for me, it isn't as user friendly as I thought it would be, which in turn, led me to not be using it to the fullest capacity I could have been. With little time on our hands for data entering, etc... trying to wend my way through the process of the system became a little cumbersome. I also was not extremely comfortable with the fact that more often than not, the current grant opportunities that I was aware of in our part of the country were either 1) not updated from previous years or 2) not there at all. Further, when I sent information to eCivis for them to enter it into the system (they do a better job at that than I do on my own because of the not-so-user-friendly process) it took longer than was conducive to what I needed. I would be working on a grant opportunity, ask for it to be entered into eCivis, and weeks later, I would receive a notice that it was entered...most often way after the grant had been submitted, awarded, etc...

Worth it

Kommentare: Should be a good investment if you have the time and personnel.

Vorteile:

Just about what I am looking for is right there. Worth every thing in there. Recommended to everybody.

Nachteile:

There is learning involved. Not good for a cookie cutter job. Still worthwhile your time. Take a look.

The simplicity when it comes to searching for grants. There are too many grant funding sources that are just waiting to be discovered by applicants. This software makes it easier.

Nachteile:

Really cannot come up with any dislikes. I have not had any bad experiences with the software as of yet.

Beneficial to my purposes, easy to understood and to use. Clear display of all information.

Kommentare: Quick and easy access to multiple grant opportunities relevant to the parameters I was searching within.

Vorteile:

Easy use of search parameters and quick results provided. I'm new to the system and it was easy to learn and utilize, and provided me a lot of options while I was looking for grants for that initial project I needed it for. I like the ease of use and how informative the postings are once you get to them and being able to refer to them later made life easier while trying to track which to apply for, and which I'd already ruled out.

Nachteile:

The only real con I have is the number of emails I received by eCivis and even that wasn't really too intrusive, and sometimes I found the information to be helpful regarding using the tool in the future. Overall, I think it's a good product and I'm still new to using it so I haven't identified any serious flaws that have prevented me from using it.

Great site to do Grant Research and find grants

Vorteile:

I like the fact it is easy to use and when I have a specific grant I need to research the software makes it easy to do.

Nachteile:

I really have no issue with the software.

Overall experience is good. Customer service is great - very responsive.

Kommentare: Notifications of grants that are new to our organization. And notification of grant cycles that are open or that have deadlines approaching.

Vorteile:

The regular emails of grant announcements help to let me know of cycles that are open and especially of any upcoming deadlines.

Nachteile:

The grant announcements that get emailed could be filtered more, or at the very least by state. We get emails for grants that we don't qualify for because of this.

Lee County Sheriff's Office review of eCivis Service

Kommentare: ECivis is a valuable tool for the Lee County Sheriff's Office. I use it regularly to search for supplemental funding for a wide range of projects. I also review the email blast of new grants available on a daily basis. Perhaps the most valuable feature is the function that updates users on any changes to saved grant announcements. We apply for multiple recurring grants that never seem to have the same release date. This feature alerts our agency whenever there is a change for saved grants. It's a time saver and a safety net to help ensure that we don't miss an important grant that we depend upon for continued operations. Other positives include secondary information listed with some of the announcements, including prior funded agencies, grant and recipient contacts and a brief assessment to help determine whether the grant should be investigated in further detail. eCivis staff regularly offer assistance and training, which newer members of my division have used to their satisfaction. I appreciate the service and think it is a benefit to the Lee County Sheriff's Office and Lee County as a whole.

eCivis - The One Place to Get Everything for Grants

Kommentare: The system allows me to search by topic and to subscribe so that I get e-mails when my Key Words are mentioned in a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). My primary goal is to search for federal funds. The eCivis system has a tab for the pertaining documents where they have the Federal Register for the NOFA, the applications, and all published information. I don't have to go and search the agency for the information, if it has been published, I can find it on eCivis.
There are many private opportunities available. Make sure you have a network in your organization so that your grant person can funnel this information to the appropriate department.
Grants are listed by deadline of application submittal, that is very helpful so you can prioritize. The only con that I see on this system is that it lists on-going applications first, I was annoyed by this, but I have learned a lot about those programs too. The system is a great asset if the people using it are willing to read through all of the information, eCivis has it available you just need to go through it, is all there in ONE place.

My organization uses eCivis to seek new grant funding.

Vorteile:

A wealth of information is standardized and the funding search function can be precisely streamlined. The training corner is also useful for onboarding new hires.

Nachteile:

It is difficult to create and edit reports. The project management section is not intuitive. A contact log is not included in the toolset.

eCivis is easy to use and staff is extremely helpful.

Vorteile:

Ease of use and various layers of grants management. Provides for all levels of grants management for an organization.

Nachteile:

Some times hard to send grant opportunities to non-users within organization. Takes a few extra steps then simply forwarding an email with opportunity provided for review.

The eCivis software is an excellent place to look for funding opportunities and it's user-friendly.

Vorteile:

With so many grant opportunities, it can be a challenge to find every relevant grant to apply for. This software is not only easy to use, it's a streamlined approach to narrowing our search for grants that make sense for our organization.

Nachteile:

The software can take some time to learn how to use. That said, eCivis offers training, and I found that after only a few hours of playing around with it that I got used to the search process and have appreciated the funding opportunities we've found so far.

A very useful program for a grant writer

Kommentare: Overall this is a very useful tool. The ability to search grants and share them with authorized Personnel is very useful.

Vorteile:

The ability to search grants is incredible! Its a very refined system that makes grant searching easer then just looking on the web. I would recommend this to any orginization that has limited funds for hiring employees. This software is definitely cheaper than hiring a full-time grant writer.

Nachteile:

There are not many cons about this software. It's very well refined and easy to use. However, 4 smaller municipalities, institutions, and organizations the software might be too sophisticated. In spite of that, I would still recommend use of the software.

The Ecivis network is user friendly and the customer support is helpful.

Vorteile:

I like that the information is straight forward and easy to use. Whenever I reach out for support, I get answers to the questions I had. Additionally, the program is very easy to keep projects organized.

Nachteile:

When you try to delete a "stage" you have to leave at least one file in there and can't delete it. In order to get the files delete, I have to upload a dummy file to remain in the project report section and it is not relevant to keep it in the file.

Easy to explore grant opportunities that I never knew existed.

Vorteile:

The information about each opportunity is concise, and therefore easy for me to quickly review for relevancy to my work.

Nachteile:

Sometimes there's so much information and not enough ability to filter the results (or at least I don't know how to filter the results).

eCivis is a great tool for identifying and vetting grant opportunities. I highly recommend it.

Kommentare: It is the BEST way to identify funding opportunities or proactively research cyclical opportunities.

Vorteile:

eCivis is easy to use and provides all the relevant information in a clear manner. When colleagues ask me to help them find funding opportunities I give them a quick overview of eCivis so they can find opportunities on their own too.

Nachteile:

I really cannot think of anything that I would change about the system. It has continued to evolve and improve over the years.

Kommentare: Gives a broad base of information. Great for state, foundation, and corporate grants, which are not easily tracked. For federal grants, grants.gov is sufficient, and eCivis is a redundant system that can catch anything that got by us. The grant opportunities that are forwarded to us each morning are often restricted to other parts of the country. It would be great if the selected opportunities were more appropriate (even if it means sending less each day).
Pricing guidelines for the service remain a mystery, and is creating issues with the County Procurement Department.
Customer Service is quick, responsive, friendly, and overall fantastic.
It's a good service with many benefits and few drawbacks.

I like the fact that there are tutorials if there is something that you don't really understand. I also like the search method so you won't have to see ALL grants that have nothing to do with what you are looking for. I like how the system keeps up with your progress for you.

Nachteile:

There is nothing that I don't like about the software. I have never had any issues with the software.

An essential tool for growth and success

Kommentare: I have past grant administration experience, but I am new to the geographical area and researching for grant opportunities. I find eCivis is the tool I use literally every day. The NOFA's and past award documentation, key word search, and email alerts are items that benefit any organization. Customer service is responsive and solution-minded and I have found the frequent webinars to be helpful. As a past municipal administrator, I wish I had used eCivis to help counter constantly shrinking budgets and to propagate partnerships and relationships with the city. I think municipalities and communities of all sizes can benefit from this program.
