From Youtube to Vimeo Pro!

Kommentare: I used to get paid by YouTube back in 2015 but I had signed up for Vimeo Pro for free. I do personally like the platform on Vimeo better than YouTube and Vimeo feels more hip and young. It is for those who are into high resolution graphics and videomaking. It is not like YouTube where the videos are created from smartphone tools. It is for professional videomakers, animators, and motion graphics artists. It is the main reason why I joined Vimeo Pro, but now, it is turning into a career.

Vorteile:

My company is focused on creating graphic designs and motion graphics to promote my artistic products, and Vimeo Pro is the perfect way to make my products promoted online. During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my employer so I decided to use my time to promote my online business. I had it established in 2015 but I was working for my employer for the last four years and did not have time to make proper sales. Instead of just sales, Vimeo Pro has helped me create an online community for those interested in my brand. It has been a lot of fun and the features on Vimeo Pro always excite me.

Nachteile:

My least favorite feature is the high costs involved in maintaining my online presence on Vimeo Pro. MY favorite feature is the videomaking tool which I do have to pay a monthly subscription for, but there are so many costs involved. It was like starting my own channel by paying Vimeo to keep maintaining my videos. It has been an expensive journey for me as a member of Vimeo Pro.

Vimeo The Perfect Video Hosting Solution

Kommentare: Overall for our company there would be no other option than using Vimeo for hosting our videos. In our experience Vimeo also has a very good customer care team as when we raised a small billing issue, this was resolved quickly and appropriately with no hassle, which is what you want when you are busy working projects and content.

Vorteile:

Vimeo is quite simply fantastic, it is a rock solid platform that has NEVER let us down. We embed project videos on our website and they look great, we switched to using Vimeo as it was a brand we trusted, best decision we have ever made in terms of our video content. We love the way we can control the settings for each video and also the player controls depending on what we need. It's a 10 out of 10 from us!

Nachteile:

Obviously as premium product there is an annual cost to using Vimeo, but we feel that the benefit we get far outweighs this. In fact Vimeo probably pays for itself as our designs and services are showcased in our videos and new leads generated. There's not much else to say, we wouldn't use anything else.

Vimeo support is abysmal

I used to like Vimeo's features, protection of videos, and customization. The support also used to be excellent.

Nachteile:

The support is just awful -- they don't actually respond to the information or questions entered. And their documentation doesn't match what support parrots back -- even when I supplied links to their documentation.

Easy to distribute my videos to my clients and managing team folders

Vorteile:

I can easily engage several teams on the platform and I have the freedom to switch between them. No worries of background disturbances, videos can be mute to avoid them. Also, it brings stability in performance and our overall goal. Creates beautiful presentations which came be customized to make them more appealing. In the case where files in question are too large or contain parts which are not relevant, trimming is possible. This improves efficiency in the final results. It is generally a very easy to use tool.

Nachteile:

Well, no cons experienced so far. Work is always done to expectations.

Video platform for high quality videos

Kommentare: The interface is clean and logical. There is no unnecessary chatter to confuse the user. I liked that the platform is used mainly by people who know how to make content, so you can find quality content with good quality right here. The feeling itself is about the business environment. I use some of the materials out there that can't be found anywhere else and have crystal quality.

Vorteile:

I like that it doesn't spoil the quality when uploading. The concept of the product is clear and specific. The content is usually quality. There are no annoying ads to tear up the videos. The platform provides options for customizing the account. It allows you to present yourself professionally and stand out in the best way, without imposing additional things around you. Users can see videos that are not present anywhere else.

Nachteile:

Multiple videos cannot be uploaded at once. Loading the gallery from the phone is a bit slow. For unpaid users, space is limited, which is not the case in other video sharing platforms. There are significantly fewer users, but those who are there definitely know why they are there.

Great to showcase your work

Kommentare: Vimeo is probably the best place to showcase work as a digital artist or filmmaker. You will not get the most views on Vimeo for sure but putting your video on Vimeo and embedding your work elsewhere will make your work look better than any other video sharing platform. Secure sharing videos is also a great reason to use Vimeo.

Vorteile:

- Focused on quality, videos are less maybe not compressed. When you save videos in some websites, they get compressed over and over again to save on server costs and that was not my experience with Vimeo. - Integration and embed features.

Nachteile:

- Pricing went up over the years but unfortunately that applies for everything. - Video Editing could be useful, apps like CapCut and VN editor do a great job even on mobiles.

Great business solution for hosting agency videos and for distributing them internally and with clients

Vorteile:

I love to be able to see all the projects and shorts the extended team in my agency is working on. I also like the ability to download videos from the tool or lock videos so that they are only available in view mode and can't be downloaded. Great collaboration and storage tool overall!

Nachteile:

Beyond the basic hosting capabilities, I think it lacks key features that would appeal to creative directors and producers within my agency, like having more bandwidth available under specific paid plans or the ability to have more custom CTAs

Powerful video storage at high quality

Vorteile:

Our videos look great on our embedded websites, ability to control where you can embed and player functionality like full screen, hide playbar for a webinar etc. Videos load quick, which is crucial nowadays. And the analytics helps us understand the audience, where do hey drop of, how is this video performing etc.

Nachteile:

The interface was a bit different than what we were used too: YouTube. But still, we managed very quickly to understand how to use it.

A Personalised and In-Depth Look at Vimeo

Easy way to create social media videos

Kommentare: We're able to edit together great videos quickly -- and get them downloaded and posted to socials much faster than we were previously able to with iMovie. We're not pro video editors and don't intend to be. The Vimeo platform has helped us create good work for our clients with a lot less headache... and all of our video content is saved within the platform, so we can easily go back and edit again for future take-downs. The first time I used Vimeo for video editing, it was intuitive enough that I was able to crank out a fun little brand anthem video for a client right on the spot.

Vimeo's video editor makes it easy to access stock video and music for making social media videos... and to post them to Vimeo and to social media platforms all from within the Vimeo platform. It's pretty easy to create a fairly pro-looking video and then take it down into multiple size/formats for social media posts and advertising. You can upload your own video clips and intersperse them with the stock imagery. There are some simple filters and templates to get you started. One of the coolest features is that the platform intuitively edits the music to match the length of your video... If you start with a :60 piece and then edit to :30 or :15, etc., the music is automatically re-edited to match the length.

Nachteile:

It's expensive. Accessing brand fonts and colors requires a business subscription, which is $50/mo paid annually. There's not a month-to-month option. As a small agency testing the waters, we opted for a smaller package, and the features are quite a bit less. The "basic" fonts and color choices are really pretty limited. The video editing tool is very basic, which is both great but also be limiting. You can't preview your video from the main editing screen. It can take a couple or minutes or more to "render" the video for previewing. Not a deal-breaker at all, just a thing.

Reviews on Vimeo

Kommentare: Overall experience with Vimeo is good. It is meant for content creators who are serious about their work. And it a good place for educational institutions to archive their videos. One can program an API to use it for online classroom services.

Uploading of the files and organisation of the data.

Nachteile:

Getting the links of a video is complicated. One needs to go to the advance settings, the distribution and then finally click on video links. Then you get playable links or downloadable links. If you don’t have the API it is a lot of work if you have a large video library.

Vimeo for Business

Kommentare: We are solving the problems of running out of storage space. This is a great way we can upload additional video. We also frequently need to send video elsewhere and we use Vimeo for that. Other businesses and platforms are able to easily see the video that we are sharing. The embed option is great! It's super easy to grab the code and go. You can also share a link to whatever video you upload right to your own social media page. This is easier than going through the trouble to directly upload a video to Facebook or Twitter which can clog their system. Vimeo Pro also gives you the option to see that "stats" on each individual video that you uploaded. It shows how many people have played your video, the impressions made, and the play rate. You can also link your Vimeo to Google Analytics to keep a closer eye. Mainly we just use Vimeo Pro for the uploading of videos itself.

Vorteile:

We have been using Vimeo for your business for three years now and have never had any complaints. I work for a television news website and sometimes we need to upload additional video that our individual system does not support. That's when we turn to Vimeo. All of the videos we've uploaded have been crystal clear. We like that we're able to grab a code and paste it on our own website. It gives an option to link back to Vimeo but it isn't tacky and overwhelming. It looks neatly embedded onto our page while giving Vimeo the credit they deserve. We also like that you can customize links. This is great when we need to send a link to a video to someone who isn't in the immediate vicinity. We can change the privacy settings of Vimeo so only that person with the link can see it.

Nachteile:

The only real complaint we have is that we tend to run out of storage space each week. Also, we wish there was a way to remove the large title off the top of the screen. An option to make it smaller or remove it altogether would be nice.

Excellent Video Hosting

Kommentare: Vimeo is one of the longest-tenured video hosting services. They have done a good job continually modernizing in the face of more competition from new startups. Cost is low to get all of the sharing and privacy features. We use Vimeo for internal and external videos, training videos, product demos, storing recorded meetings, and more - and we've had a consistently great experience.

Vorteile:

Vimeo Pro is feature-packed but still fairly intuitive to use. There are a number of privacy and sharing options, and Vimeo is great for setting up professional-looking video libraries for your organization. I also appreciate that they are on top of new and emerging services like live video streaming. It also integrates well with social media and other web services.

Nachteile:

Vimeo Pro cost is reasonable, but there are free and cheap options out there. Live streaming is a fairly expensive add-on (but may be worth the cost for reliable streaming to a large audience).

Great video quality for content uploaded

Kommentare: We've had a good experience with Vimeo but I would not recommend using it as your main video upload website for ad purposes since it is not known and used as much as other options, however, for embedded links to use on websites or other platforms, it is great because of its video quality.

Vorteile:

The feature that I like the most is that the video quality remains the same when we upload a video for out marketing purposes. Most online video players reduce quality even if you upload on 4K.

Nachteile:

I'd love it to be known by more people, because sometimes it is hard to get organic visitors into our content. We had to use other platforms to get an embedded link and share it from there with ads.

Vimeo is one of my Daily Go-To Work Tools!

Kommentare: I use this program daily and so appreciate its availability and useability for my clients.

Vorteile:

I love that I can upload a file, and instantly get the link even before the file upload is complete. That saves me a lot of time. I also really like that I can go back in and change the intro image on the video.

Nachteile:

It's not as easy as drag and drop to move folders around and organize them. I honestly haven't given it a lot of effort, but it's not super obvious.

No need to setup a media server when you have Vimeo

Kommentare: While I was working in the distance education industry, migrating to the Vimeo (from Red5 media server) was the smartest decision we've ever made. By migrating to Vimeo we saved thousands of dollars.

Vorteile:

Ease of use, very cheap prices considering problems the product is solving, user-friendly UI, support for 4K videos, fast video processing, amazing customer support, branding features, neat integration with other software, unlimited video storage.

Nachteile:

Nothing to be honest. We have been using Vimeo as our main media storage/service since 5 years and we have been extremely happy with the product.

Kommentare: Over the years, my experience with Vimeo has been great! The platform is a wonderful way to serve my clients in a professional way with private video access. Another great thing is that the videos are hosted on Vimeo for years, even if you have a free plan.

Vorteile:

Paying for Vimeo Pro is useful to me as a business owner for three reasons. The first reason is I can create private video lists and private video pages for my clients, which looks professional. Clients are able to leave comments on those pages and they can be given their own passwords. My second reason for my using Vimeo Pro is hosting. They host my videos and I am then able to post them on my WordPress website in a clean and professional way. Using Vimeo for this looks much better than posting on my website with YouTube. YouTube will link website visitors to other videos at the end of their viewing and that can be really annoying. With Vimeo, you can include a call to action button at the end of the video instead. The third reason for using Vimeo Pro is the option to sell videos.

Nachteile:

I really don't have a con in using Vimeo Pro. Maybe the con would be that someone wouldn't want to pay for it when they could use YouTube to host their videos for free? But, as I mentioned above, there are great reasons for a business owner like myself to want to pay for Vimeo's professional hosting service.

Vimeo's paid offerings make it easy to upload, share, and manage large video libraries at the highest quality. It's the de-facto standard for digital screener sharing in the independent film and television sector. The admin and features are very easy to understand - and we've had no trouble training non-technical staff to set up even complicated videos with unusual combinations of security permissions. They have robust support for privacy control, embedding, subtitling and other accessibility features. As a major platform, most major encoders come pre-set with optimized profiles, and (in most cases) automatic upload functions available.

Nachteile:

The paid offerings can sometimes be a difficult sell for very small companies/individuals as there are few services that Vimeo offers that can't be replicated by completely free alternatives (mostly via YouTube) - but the high quality and ad-free experience is often worth it.

To Share high quality professional videos!

Kommentare: For a marketing company this is the best video storage. Sharing the videos across different platforms is just a single click away. We can always keep track of the video engagements and get the progress. Creating separate lists and embedding the videos have made it even more attractive for the clients to see. Best ever!

A part of our marketing services is video marketing. And we use a number of software to create unique and best videos for our client. And vimeo is our storage and platform which we use to share our videos. Having 200+ clients and several products means we have to create a number of videos per week. Vimeo pro allows you to upload 15+ GB per week, which is a must for us. The privacy is updated, we love that. You can make the changes on the same video and have the link not changed. That is very convenient for us when improvising ads.

Nachteile:

I did have issues when looking up for old videos from profile, sometimes even if I search with the Video id, the video doesn't show up. I have to go deep into the video list to find the video.

A grown-up video hosting platform

Kommentare: I have a Vimeo business account and use it to host close to 100 videos. I access most through the embed player or API as the site experience leaves something to be desired. I've found it to be far more grown up and business focused than YouTube. The Vimeo team needs to continue to push boundaries and grow their product with corporate users in mind.

Vorteile:

Vimeo has tried to emulate YouTube in a few ways and has fallen short of the cool crowd. What they have built however is a more than decent video hosting platform. They downsample videos far less which means playback is almost nice and clear. Their analytics are easy to use and capture all the right things. Security and permissions are easy to configure. Even their API has some great features in it.

Nachteile:

There are a few parts and pieces that could be easier to use or just work better. My number one complaint it around end screens or any kind of screen that pops up in the video. You are limited to only capture name and email. While this is far more than YouTube, it could be so much more! Imagine the marketing possibilities if this feature was fleshed out! Also exporting the data from those forms is less than intuitive.
