Kommentare: I have been using EpicCare EMR for over 2 years not and there isn't much bad i can say about it. Compared to most other EMR software out there it is far ahead of its competition. It's simplistic yet versatile design has made everyday challenges much easier for both healthcare employees and its patients.

Vorteile:

Epic is extremely versatile in its ability to provide a lot of functions to its users in the healthcare settings. With its new updates setting up orders for patients have never been easier. From medication reconciliation to appointment scheduling to its organization of encounters and medical history, there isn't much epic cannot due.

Nachteile:

Customer support/service is not very receptive to user friendly changes that are requested when it comes to simple tasks that could be made easier by the input of a button or checkbox in certain areas. Downtime for service is can also be problematic if it needs to be performed during work hours which has happened a few times.

Epic is good!

Kommentare: What our practice is solving with Epic is the hunt for medical records and patient information. The switch has made it so we are more efficient with our patient care.

Vorteile:

I like the ease of use. Everything is pretty self explanatory and using the software can cut down on time spent doing any one task. In our practice, we converted to share the EHR system with a local hospital and its practices, cutting down on any type of hunt for medical records

Nachteile:

Yes, there is more than one way to do everything, but the process in which to get from point A to point B can be frustrating and long. A lot of clicking and doing things you may have already done before. If you know how to get around it, it can be easy, but those who struggle with technology might not find it as easy.

I love Epic so much

Vorteile:

Super easy to use, to find what you need, to upload items to a patient's chart.

Nachteile:

Very expensive, only good if you are a massive corporation with tons of employees/patients.

Suboptimal at best

Vorteile:

Epic's main benefit is the large number of health systems that use it, which makes cross-communication possible. Epic does limit this by making it's product modular, which limits different institutions' ability to communicate. The only benefit to Epic is it's size and number of health systems that use it - so if you work at Hospital X, and move to Hospital Y, the chances that they also use Epic are higher than another software.

Nachteile:

This is not a "patient care" software by design. It is a billing software first and foremost. Instead of starting the software from scratch in the 2000's once it was appearent that EMR's were the wave of the future, they simply piggy-backed what they could (most pop-ups and messages are done by what was originally meant to be error messages for bills). From a patient care stand-point, it is terrible at best. Epic's goal is to cater to administrators, who ultimately choose which EMR options to buy. The latest updates and changes have made for a "cleaner" look while hiding most buttons and options under tabs, making finding different options more difficult. There is a learning curve, but as anyone who has used iOS knows, the interface could be exponentially better. Epic is reminiscent of the 1990's Microsoft Office products that came with every computer and the masses were forced to use it, even though it was subpar by 1990's standards. Epic's philosophy (while under [sensitive content hidden]) is that Epic can do no wrong. While this company is under [sensitive content hidden] (the [sensitive content hidden] of EMR), it will not get better. We need a [sensitive content hidden] of EMR - until then, patients and providers alike must suffer.

Great for Hipaa Compliance

Kommentare: Great for huge corporations, wouldnt recommend for small practices.

Vorteile:

Epic offers a a huge variety of services.

Nachteile:

You have to have the latest up to date computers and wifi or you will have to consistently reset the pc

Virtually no room for human error with billing and coding.

Kommentare: I self-taught with Epic. It's very user friendly.

Vorteile:

Epic makes it impossible to miss anything during the charge capture phase. There are fewer denials from payers/insurance companies and greater accuracy in capturing charges.

Nachteile:

I have nothing negative to say about epic care. I have had no need to use customer service so I'm unable to review that area.

EpicCare EMR- easy patient care management

Kommentare: EpicCare EMR has definitely been an upgrade from our previously used EMR. I love the ease of use, the clean and modern design, the ability to customize to my needs

Vorteile:

I love that EpicCare EMR is easily searchable, it provides lots of options for customization, both in terms of utility and view. It also has a sort of memory of your more recently entered orders, which makes it easy to reorder

Nachteile:

Even though EpicCare EMR is searchable, sometimes it is hard to find what you need

Difficult to start

Kommentare: After the difficult start up and training on Epic its a great product and i am happy to use it

Vorteile:

Its an all around great EHR it keeps patient flowing and everything a provider needs in one place easy charting for patient care

Nachteile:

Difficult to start learning it takes time

Epic1

Kommentare: It is a great software and is highly recommended for all who work in healthcare as it is very advanced

Vorteile:

It is super advanced and is very smart. It has so many features and once learned, is a very high level software

Nachteile:

It’s not the most user friendly as it does require you to complete sims and learning to learn this software

Great EMR System

Kommentare: Excellent, scheduling process, excellent navigation through the system tabs and accurate collection account

Vorteile:

Easy Navigation through all of the systems

Nachteile:

Can’t control the patient duplicate files

The industry leader for reliable Electronic Medical Record

Kommentare: Electronic Medical Record is the core of a health care system. Epic is the cream of the crop. It is *not* just another application. It can displace/replace many of your other applications, so we saw dozens of IT people move away from applications and systems that were replaced and into Epic roles. If your organization devotes the time and resources to it, you are nearly guaranteed success. At a price $$$, of course. From an end-user perspective, it takes a while for clinicians to get used to it. For example, in Epic there may be many more steps for a given procedure as compared to another EMR, but those steps are there to make sure that the application is bullet-proof, and users get used to it and appreciate it after a short time.

Vorteile:

Epic, the company, makes sure that your implementation succeeds, stays stable and reliable, and performs fast. They (Epic) constantly monitor performance, DR/BC availability, and uptime and tell you *exactly* how you should configure your environment. Your are absolutely not on your own with Epic.

Nachteile:

The flip side to the Epic company being so involved in your setup and operation is that it takes a lot of internal employees to make it happen Epic's prescribed way, and there is a lot of internal employee involvement in setup, testing, and ongoing maintenance. In other words, Epic requires a lot of TLC, but it is extremely stable and reliable.

The best around, but that isn't saying much

Vorteile:

Epic is by far the best EMR out there, but really that is not saying much. It does have some great functionality, and is user friendly after awhile. Clean design and great shortcut utilities

Nachteile:

EMR's in general are not designed by physicians, but for physicians, EPIC is no different. It seems clean, organized and user friendly at face, however, the excessive clicks needed to navigate, the constant updates that change layout and function, and lack of certain functions that you would think should be an integral part make EPIC frustrating. That being said this is not exclusive to EPIC and i would still recommend this program over any other.

Epic review

Kommentare: Overall- I think it helps me deliver safe care to my patients. This platform allows me to accurately chart and organize my day to best serve the population in my hospital.

Vorteile:

It allows for safe medication administration- links the drug info. right there with the medication and allows for user friendly charting. Plenty of flowsheets to chose from. Information that isn't helpful can be completed or hidden. Integrates with our devices to pull in vital signs and information about the patient. Also allows for communication between the interdisciplinary team connecting each other through messaging and allowing for contact information. There are a few ways to get to the same spot and I find the navigators are helpful.

Nachteile:

Some charting/flowsheets are a bit redundant. Also, sometimes when flowsheets or sections of charting are hidden- it can be hard to find specifically where to reactivate it. I think it takes a while to get the right custom EPIC for your institution in place so there are tons of upgrades and learning curves with new versions.

Unnecessary changes

Nachteile:

They are constantly making unnecessary changes to the system. It makes usage difficult because you have to hunt for what you are looking for. They change things that just add additional clicks with no actual benefit to the change. It is very frustrating to get used to where something is located and then find it suddenly not there or to find the whole process of getting to what you need has changed. For example my telehealth visits are now listed as office visits and then you have to make 10 additional clicks to make it a televisit and then on you schedule you have to click 10 more steps to make it show as a televisit on you screen so you know if they are coming in or if you are supposed to be calling them. This constant change is VERY aggravating and unnecessary.

All patient info in one place!

Kommentare: Epic has been a lovely product to use and makes my day-to-day job much easier than if I had to go through paper records. It is an efficient product and helps me get the patient info I need quickly and securely.

Vorteile:

Epic is a secure way to access information from a patient's chart, whether that patient is currently admitted at the hospital or has previously been treated at your facility. The search within a specific patient's chart is robust and smart, populating results that may be related to the keyword you searched. Epic also allows you to access documents related to a patient from an outside hospital/institution. Epic's security features protect patient privacy from all ends.

Nachteile:

Running Epic requires some setup, namely downloading a receiver to access the application. This additional step is not particularly difficult but does slow down the process of getting to Epic. I wish there was a desktop option for easy access to Epic.

EPIC EMR User friend medical records system

Kommentare: In general epicure EMR patient health information medical record system is a great tool to integrate into large hospital systems. Especially for streamlined and easy to use integration of an medical record system. In addition because it has been used broadly by many large healthcare systems many people are trained on how to use epic and in addition they are able to translate their knowledge of other electronic medical record systems to the use of EpicCare system

Vorteile:

In general some of the pros about the software is that it is very easy to use and it is very accessible from anywhere as long as you have an account. In addition allows you to access your patients medical records from a secure browser and system from remote locations. In addition it’s very easy to explore specific patient information as needed for data purposes.

Nachteile:

The things that I like least about the software are that you do have to go through extensive training to be permitted to utilize the system. Although I do understand from the perspective of integration of patient health information it’s very important that users are knowledgeable on how to properly use the system.

EpicCare EMR software

Kommentare: Its frustrating at times to accomplish the smallest of tasks or messages. Though it is helpful and easy to communicate if properly used , it is an embarrassment to the creators and programmers whom I've met with personally and were embarrassed to admit they were some of the original creators of the software .

Vorteile:

Its inclusive : people across most facilities can review results, messages, notes, appointments and fyi's it's gotten better at tracking errors when it comes to duplicate charts, appointees, or overall telling you when your wrong

Nachteile:

Very slow, constantly glitching. It takes more clicks to achieve something that should only be done with one to two clicks. So many steps to complete any order , refill or scheduling process or anything else . Constant screen freezing resulting in black screens until the system has cough up with itself . The worst is that its constancy crashing , updating or just not working at all .

EpicCare EMR

Kommentare: My overall experience is great and I enjoy working with EPIC daily.

Vorteile:

I do not have the full functionality of the software but do have the access needed to perform day to day requests. I am on the front end of the EMR. I work with a lab that is interfaced with EPIC but I Do have access to view charts. I like being able to confirm our results are filing to the patients charts. I also enjoy being able to review encounters for resulting purposes that will facilitate our company to make the best decision as to care for the patient.

Nachteile:

I, as mentioned can view the charts but unable to view scanned documents. I had this option towards the beginning of my access but have since been unable to pull up any scanned documents for the last two years. It is fine we just call the ordering providers office for the documents needed.

Easiest, most intuitive charting software I've used to date

Kommentare: Overall i am very happy with EPIC care, but i would like to see continued design improvements.

Vorteile:

The ease with which I can customize the charting features and interconnect outside patient info is key. Also, patient's love the connectedness of mychart and the messaging feature.

Nachteile:

EPIC still seems to be less user-friendly than non-EMR software. Consider social media or HubSpot. They all have workflows and usage features that are slightly more aesthetic and user friendly.

National Leader in EMR

Kommentare: Fantastic - I would choose this EMR over every other one I've worked with!

Vorteile:

It is intuitive, easy to use, easy to teach new staff members, and the support has been stellar. Epic is a national, if not worldwide leader in EMR implementation. Their product is superior to other EMR products in use.

Nachteile:

Some functionality is not obvious and when shared over several campuses, sometimes one campus will obtain the knowledge and it is not shared through the enterprise. This is certainly an enterprise issue, but Epic could send information blasts that help users learn the smaller details of the system, to be shared with all users, to take full advantage of the amazing product

Oh so easy to use

Vorteile:

Being both a builder and a user of several ehrs I do believe that this product is is very user-friendly. I am in a nurse informaticist. And the features and functionality available truly help arcare providers be able to care for and document the care they give.

Nachteile:

I do believe there are several kinds and maybe it's just with what has happened within our organization but there is an ability to have too many variations in documentation which leads to discrepancy. Additionally from what I understand from the AC and am there is not a good way to search for these discrepancies in the system once they are built. The AC and am's that are sent to support future go lives as in our instance where we added on 14 new hospitals they did not have the level of experience to support our organization.

Long time user/adminstrator

Vorteile:

Epic offers endless features for end users. The system is excellent in preventing medical errors, ease of documentation, and overall efficient patient care.

Nachteile:

Frequent, sometimes unnecessary, updates to the software. Difficult to elicit information from the organization sometimes

I am looking forward to having improved Epic version

Vorteile:

Its connected to the medical records/test results done in other places through care everywhere and crisp. It's EMR-much much better and safer than hand written medical records.

Nachteile:

It is not connected to JH ambra images and report. Too many icons/tabs on the page, and it is difficult to navigate. Call center messages under In-Basket messages; very difficult to see who is writing what in a chronological order. I rather would like the option deleted. I can't review the patients' charts with Haiku. Once "documentation" is open by mistake, I have to type in "opened by error" or something similar (which gets recorded permanently unnecessarily), otherwise, it remains under my In basket messages as incomplete chart for good.

Epic for medical use

Kommentare: I use this system everyday at work in a medical clinic. I work in the lab so I have my own sub category within the system, but I can still view the other schedules which makes my job a lot easier; rather than run around trying to find information, I can access it from my computer. I have a tab to see what labs a patient has had and I can look up their previous encounters (even telephone ones) to see what they were told to have drawn if their labs weren't ordered.

Vorteile:

It's easy to use and as I learn more about it, it becomes even easier. For instance, there are multiple ways to access the same things, I find the redundancy makes for quick shortcut access. I also like that I can message people within the system which comes in handy.

Nachteile:

Well I hadn't given it much thought until now, but maybe just the parts I don't have access to. Because I like the system and learning about it, it's a bummer when I can't access bits of a chart, but I know it's for security and confidentially, which is totally necessary. In reality, parts I can't access I don't need and I understand that. I don't have any real complaints about the system.

EPIC makes a great EMR system to be aligned in care everywhere

Kommentare: Personally I would highly recommend the program if you work in Healthcare. It is very simple to use once you are shown how and can actually make many processes easier in the end.

Vorteile:

I have been through 2 EPIC implementations within the same company under 2 different modules. It is very easy to design what you need out of the system and get your info moved into it.

Nachteile:

There are just certain processes or functions that EPIC will not let you customize because it is a core process that will affect other users/companies. A lot of times you have to update your processes and change them to use the system.
