Pros and cons of conga document generation

Kommentare: When it comes to content management then one can surely go for conga document generation while if your end goal is to have effective digital signature then i wont recommend the same.

Vorteile:

The most impactful features of conga document generation is the content management system where we can choose the template for campaign management and email management. Along with that other features like digital and electronic signature comes quite handy at times. Last but not the least the document storage facilities.

Nachteile:

The quality of electronic signature and digital signature is not that perfect when we used to compare with other competitors of conga document generation.

Conga Composer is what we use the most, and for the most part.. it does an amazing job.

Kommentare: Overall my experience is very mixed. I do not feel that we have enough support. I do not appreciate how with the acquisition by Apptus they switched to a very greedy model. I don't like how I cannot ask the SME's/Experts assigned to me for help with the unique conga tools we use, and that they push methods that spend a lot of money- "just buy an annual subscription and we'll build it for you!". No thanks. We are already paying a ton of money for this, why is it so complex to set up!

Vorteile:

The end result is an instant crowd pleaser. Our users are VERY happy when we have a mature solution.

Nachteile:

Setting up solutions- we have a number of different use cases and every solution is so different. I also hate deploying solutions (not really possible).

Conga is fine

Conga works without too much of an issue

Nachteile:

It seems old school and is slow in the generation of the document. The UI is ld and think it should be updated without additional cost

Conga Document Generation is fantastic product.

Kommentare: Awesome product. Save developers efforts in many ways and easily configurable. Love it.

Vorteile:

System admin can configure the most of the items on the fly. No customization/code is required. Can be easily build and it save the timing for developers and its user friendly as well.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the solution user interface is little tricky

Does it's job, sometimes clunky or in other words - you need knowledge of word serial letters

Vorteile:

When it works, it usually works. The way there is sometimes hard.

Nachteile:

Still missing an easy drag&drop template designer.We still work on clunky word templates, that sometimes switch to total format chaos, when you just pull a certain field somewhere else - we all know that.Probably we are on outdated versions, but there's room for development, if not.If you drop in with special characters, data transfer to the Conga server gets stuck / frozen.

Quality product, but cheaper alternatives in the market.

It's easy to use and it integrates well with systems such as Salesforce and other Conga-related products.

Nachteile:

The fact that you have to always generate a template before you use it for any document generation.

A good document management and generation tool with some limitations.

Kommentare: Overall it is a good tool for small business and professional use. The document management system is very helpful in accessing the files anytime. The files are stored in the cloud and can be used from anywhere. We can sign a document online which is a unique feature to have.

Vorteile:

The flexibility in creating a document is very good, as it allows us to generate documents in any format. The file sharing system is good and allows us to share big files which can't be shared via mail. There is a collaboration feature that helps in working on documents along with the team in real-time.

Nachteile:

The interface is clunky, and the users feel a lot of difficulties while using this tool. The documentation is very confusing and the tutorials doesn't help much either. The tool is a bit expensive for personal use. More features can be added and improved.

Revolutionized our sales process!

Kommentare: We used Google Docs / Word Docs for proposals prior to implementing Octiv, which caused two problems: 1) They looked terrible.
2) It was hard to maintain a standard format for proposals team-wide while still giving individual AEs the ability to customize proposals.
3) We couldn't get any intelligence (when they viewed the proposal, what they looked at, etc.)
4) Lacked an electronic signature. Now, our proposals look great and really 'wow' prospects, they're easy to customize within pre-defined templates, our reps can follow-up based on when proposals get viewed, and our close rate has increased since we're no longer collecting scanned signature pages.

Vorteile:

Sales process was low-pressure. The user interface is easy-to-use, and Octiv's training/onboarding set us up for success from day one. Great company with great people! Proposals are beautiful, and we get great analytics.

Nachteile:

We weren't able to integrate a payment /processor gateway but that has more to do with our current stack than a gap in Octiv's capabilities.

Easy to generate documents

Vorteile:

Easy to generate documents and Template builder helps with building simple templates.

Nachteile:

Unable to build more complex templates such as having a matrix table. Merge fields might not be simple to use for new users. It would be good if the system can highlight which part of the template has errors instead of showing a generic error message, so users can pinpoint which is the part that needs correction.

Conga gets the job done

Vorteile:

Conga does what we need it to do, generates documents into a simple, easy to read PDF format.

Nachteile:

I teach people how to set up Conga to work with our software and the most common feedback I get is, "Why are there so many parts?" You do have to be fairly savvy to create a really elegant Conga output, I wish it was a bit more streamlined.

Good product, but not a good fit for us.

Kommentare: Overall our users found it very frustrating to use and many stopped due to the limitations of working with the PDF format only. The content library was difficult to use. Any content added to the Conga platform was converted to HTML format, so even when downloaded, it was difficult to work with.
Conga and Microsoft office products do not work together.

Vorteile:

The tool did produce an attractive and well formatted proposal. Making most updates was easy.

Nachteile:

We were told that the proposal would easily convert to a word document, which never happened so this was a challenge when clients needed a word document from us. Tables or excel type formats were extremely difficult to incorporate into the document. The content library didn't offer any format for organizing, only searching. Anytime we attempted to send our proposals out of the tool, we were not confident that our client would receive it, so we stopped using this component of the tool. Adjusting the page breaks was very time consuming.

Good for Salesforce

Kommentare: It was a good, solid solution for quotes coming out of Salesforce CPQ.

Vorteile:

It was a good application to use in terms of matching up the full fledged flexibility and customization that Salesforce provides and then being able to put it onto a proposal.

Nachteile:

As a standalone application, it felt dated. Also, we had complaints from some customers that they couldn't sign the document, but it very well could have been user error.

Powerful tool for meeting business document needs

Kommentare: I would recommend Conga for generating documents. It is a reliable, powerful software that plugs directly into Salesforce.

Vorteile:

Reliable, powerful software the allows for a wide range of document creation. Our team uses this software daily for document generation for our mailings, etc. Customer support from Conga is top notch and they have been very helpful in ensuring that we can maximize its utilization.

Nachteile:

Setting up and learning Conga can be challenging. Thankfully documentation is present and straightforward.

Conga is a great tool

Kommentare: I think it's been great overall.

Vorteile:

Easy to use, which is beneficial for support. All of our proposals and other documents are generated using Conga, which was the intended use, but we have also created reports (like material tracking reports) to support the business which was an unexpected use of the software.

Nachteile:

There have been a few areas we would like to be able to use Conga (like inserting an existing file in between templates) that we are unable to or have needed to find a workaround (the file becomes an image rather than just being the selected file was the only workaround for this use-case). There have also been several times the software has gone down where users were unable to generate necessary documents.

Nice tool, but room for improvements

Kommentare: Overall a nice tool, and in it's current condition there's some room for improvements.

Vorteile:

In general, this tool works fine to create proposal, presentations and other documents. Most easy is to upload presentations, or work with some fixed templates (which in our case are filled by data from salesforce).

Nachteile:

It can be frustrating and time consuming to create presentations, as there's less features as compared to e.g. powerpoint. Furthermore it happens that bugs occur while editing, or that pages are not loading while viewing presentations.

Great Product, once you get to know it

Kommentare: We use this mainly for our operations department, they pull over 30 different contracts, and the templates help save them a ton of time. Also helpful for sales and accounting who like to get reports wit specific margins, formatting, and print settings, etc.

Vorteile:

Scheduled reports can be formatted for user specifications and formulas can be built right into the template.

Nachteile:

building can be frustrating when not using reports. because if you make a change and the query doesn't update sometimes I am crawling all over SF trying to find the minor mistake.

Great Tool in Theory But Lots of Functionality Issues

Kommentare: Our proposal team has been using this tool for almost two years. When the tool was called Tinderbox, we found it to be pretty good with minor functionality issues. Since it became Octiv, we've gotten into the habit of calling customer support 2 - 3 times per month. There seem to be more bugs than before. Asset pages get lost, user privileges get messed-up, and the whole tool seems slower and clunky.

Vorteile:

User-friendly, easy to teach others how to use, good organizational system

Nachteile:

Since the tool became Octiv, there are more glitches.

Excellent software to replace DocuSign with is double the pricing

Kommentare: It's definitely solved quoting issues for us. I'm excited to try Collaborate.

Vorteile:

A lot of features for generating documents.

Nachteile:

Templates require technical expertise. There's a lot of turnover in Conga's customer account relationship staff.

Vorteile:

Easy to configure most documents to appear professional and consistent. Our reps love the tracking capabilities as well.

Nachteile:

I don't know html very well, so some of the cool formatting I see is more difficult to self-implement. However, we have a customer success rep that is able and willing to help.
