One of the statistical analysis software that I used every week

Kommentare: Overall my experience with Minitab is very positive. It helps me to perform my job more efficiently as data driven conclusion or reports are very well accepted by many people especially management.

Vorteile:

I like Minitab for its easy navigation and the layout or its dashboard information. Analysis reports are being summarized very neat and helping users to understand what the data is telling easily.

Nachteile:

Online licensing is the least that I like about this software. Currently I am using online license which means I have to be online to use Minitab which is very inconvenient for me.

By combining these two, we can easily identify the outlier or significant defect that adds to our process' manufacturing loss. The assistance of statistics, hypothesis testing, and statistical display provided by this application considerably enhances our process and final product. Additionally, the company practices Lean Six Sigma, which mandates the use of Minitab to represent statistical data for simple analysis and interpretation in order to reduce errors and defects.

Good tools for researchers, analyst

Kommentare: We have been using this software for more than 10 years in the company. It very helpful for our improvement projects. However, that was not easy when we think to use the output from Minitab to apply in our manufacturing information system or think how to apply the advantage of Minitab to our big-data.

Vorteile:

- Very common tool and that can be used for root cause analysis, problem solver and especially in the project needs to work with data (6 Sigma projects) - The guideline and assistance function in the tool is quite helpful for the beginner - Customer support is great as you can call, email and they can work out with you for the solution quickly. - The output/report makes sense with all logic and statistics result

Nachteile:

- The learning curve is quite long, needs to invest both time/money to know how to use the tool efficiently - The graph/report output is not perfect and sometimes it requires time to make it up - Big gap to integrate with other systems, meaning you only use this offline, no options to interface with other databases. That also shows the limitation when import/export file.

Great software for data visualization in scientific research work

Kommentare: Great tool for statistical analysis, prediction, plotting of data and easy to learn to use. Lots of tutorials are available to use this software effectively.

Vorteile:

For my research work, I have to analyze the data and visualize the results to showcase my research outcome. I always prefer to use software like Minitab for easily showing the output of experiment. It has enriched library and you can plot anything from your available data.

Nachteile:

Minitab is a lightweight software but sometimes you may face difficulty to handle large size data to plot. It got fridge sometimes to work with huge database of millions of information.

Suitable software for engineers

Kommentare: I have enjoy using this software for planing several optimal design and also regression modeling. I appreciate providing the predicted R-Square as an useful option in the output of regression analysis.

Vorteile:

There are many statistical software in the market but Minitab is specially designed for engineers. It has a very advanced capability in design and analysis of experiment.

Nachteile:

The design of this software user interface is so classic. So, maybe using another framework for making the user interface more attractive is needed.

Fantastic functionality with a steep learning curve

Kommentare: Overall positive. Despite needing time to learn it, it was still faster than alternatives to get the data gathered and into a presentable format.

Vorteile:

The amount you can do with the program cannot be understated, it makes data crunching so much easier. If you need to analyze and present data, I haven't found a better program.

Nachteile:

Despite the upside, a lot of the functionality needs to be taught to you by a peer or by a tutorial. The interworkings were not that clear to me at first.

Best program for charts and analysis

Vorteile:

Easy to apply formulas and analysis, very user friendly. Charts very easy to read.

Nachteile:

Haven't found anything bad yet. This program is awesome.

Best user friendly statistical software out there

Kommentare: Overall, cannot complain too much about the application. Despite a few items I do not like personally, it's still the best stat software out there.

Vorteile:

Minitab is the easiest to learn and has a very good online documentation. It's super useful for my 6-sigma course. Has a one-click distribution analysis that helps deciding what capability study one should use.

Nachteile:

I do not like how data panel and the visualization panel are arranged. If there's any visual, it takes a good chink of the screen and hides most of the data.

There is a big difference between Minitab and other spreadsheet programs

Kommentare: It's a big jump for most people to go from Excell style spreadsheets over to Minitab. Both programs are needed and I often uses them in conjunction with one another. They fill different roles. I usually manipulate my data in Excel, copy it into Minitab, perform stats analysis, then copy data and results back over to Excel. Minitab does things that you simply cannot do with other programs. It is a statistics powerhouse!

Vorteile:

the built-in analysis tools. The fact that you don't need to be a stats wizard to be able to create powerful analysis. The way you could take data and put it in graphical form. the help screens and tutorial modules are very helpful.

Nachteile:

it takes a little bit to learn how to use the different features. There is a lot here and you first need to learn how to drive this powerful machine. It is not Excel and doesn't have the same formula logic and cell manipulation features.

Great product for analyzing design of experiments data and smaller datasets

Vorteile:

I love the intuitive user-interface and how similar it is to Excel. It gets the job done.

Nachteile:

Minitab is expensive. Also, it is not expandable and customizable. like R or SAS

One of the most comprehensive statistical analysis tools

Kommentare: I think Minitab is really good for people who want to do research or work on projects in manufacturing processes. It's been useful in my research projects, like improving manufacturing techniques. It helps me get results, and figure out important factors from the experiments I do. I highly recommend it.

Minitab is a great tool that helps us look at different information all in one place. We use it at our company to study data we get from our processes. We put all the data from different parts of our company into Minitab. This helps us figure out new things and make changes. The best parts of Minitab are:It's easy to put data in quickly. We can make tables and graphs to organize the information.Minitab can predict things based on the data we put in. It looks at old and new data to see if things are getting better or worse.It's easy to use. We can put things where we want them.We can work together with our coworkers. Minitab lets us look at lots of data together in real-time.

Nachteile:

Minitab costs a lot and learning to use Minitab is not easy indeed.

Really easy for Dissertation projects

Kommentare: Overall, Minitab has been perfect to use for my dissertation projects and excellent to use for editing figures and descriptive stats

Vorteile:

Statistical analysis on minitab is extremely straightforward due to the full guide provided online. Learnt mosy of my stats from here and used it during the last 2 years of my university degree.

Nachteile:

Minitab can have AI implemented into it, just to enhance the level of analysis which may be missed from data collection. However, absolutely excellent to use.

Minitab a Complete Analytics package.

Kommentare: Overall experience is very good as it is necessary for our students projects.

Vorteile:

It is very simple software used to analyze complex operations. It is user friendly and takes less time to understand fully. It is mostly used in the educational Institutes for the project works for generating time series trends.

Nachteile:

All the features available in Excel is not exploited. There is chance of improving the software towards 3D plots.

It simplifies and ensures correct statistical analyses on massive datasets.

Kommentare: Minitab worked efficiently to simplify the statistical analysis processes, especially when dealing with large amounts of data, and this was reflected in the smoothness of our procedures, as we can conduct various analyzes, ensure the progress of operations, and achieve sufficient understanding of the results in a faster time.

Vorteile:

Minitab makes organizing data for various statistical operations extremely easy. Minitab brings together all the tools that we need to perform multiple statistical operations such as capacity analysis, regression analysis, and other complex operations in an organized manner, and Minitab makes preparing tables and graphs of the results very simple. It's great that Minitab, with its effective tools, enables us to automate statistical analysis processes, so that we don't find any complications in dealing with big data, and enables us to quickly extract accurate results.

Nachteile:

Nothing to worry about, as Minitab has an intuitive interface that is easy to use, which is not available in competing programs. It is necessary to know the statistics before starting to use, also you should spend an appropriate amount of time to learn how the tools work properly.

Sufficient functions for most of my statistical analysis

Kommentare: Minitab is easy to use since its user interface is not complex. My overall experience on Minitab is good and will renew my license in the future.

Vorteile:

1. Minitab provides most of the functions in my daily work. For example, Design of Experiments, gauge R&R, ANOVA, distributions fitting, hypothesis tests, regression, Power and Sample Size, and Assistant. 2. I like the Assistant function the most because it can help me choose a proper approach to analyze a data set. The results from the Assistant reports are also easy to be understood and clear. 3. After each analysis, Minitab output results by text and figures. This can help me to understand the physical significance of the results and to report/visualize the data/results to my manager.

Nachteile:

Although Minitab outputs statistical results in plots and figures, the formats, fonts, and designs of the figures and the plots can be improved to be more aesthetic. Maybe Minitab's developing team can try to use more AI to improve the outputs of the plots and figures.

Very good for descriptive and inferential analysis

Kommentare: I use minitab 18 very often to analyze process variations of food production plant, also it is used to report the improvements on any process based on any change.

Vorteile:

Minitab offers a very good end user experience for descriptive and inferential analysis. Also minitab product help tutorials are very good and well explained that cover most of the possible doubts. The interpretation of results that minitab provides on integral analysis like Capability analysis or hypothesis testing is very useful for sharing with management.

Nachteile:

*Developing scripts on minitab is not as intuitive as it should be so doing repetitive task can be a headache. *Also querying data from an external data source could be easier, at this moment requires a well defined DSN file and adjusting filters on data to retrieve could be also easier. *There are not enough modeling methods on minitab

One of the best analytical tool

Kommentare: Overall, this is great for data analysis as a student and alright in industry. I have not come across anything in industry that I couldn't do on Excel, but I prefer Minitab since I have been using it for longer.

Vorteile:

I have been using this software since back in my college days, and it was a serious competitor to Excel. Obviously both have their perks and benefits, but I find Minitab to be better most of the time. There are a lot of tutorials in case one isn't familiar with it, which is great for first learning the software or improving over time.

Nachteile:

I have had a hard time in the past importing data, and have had issues getting plots that I need. There should be a wider variety of models. Some graphs, especially ones with lots of data, can be difficult to read. I have experienced this across most data software I use, but it is still a con.

Data analysis

Kommentare: It is good software for social science study and descriptive statistics.

Vorteile:

It is useful for descriptive statistics and it is easy to use for beginners.It has good view for graphs.It is important for time series data.

Nachteile:

It does not work for any type of statistical analysis. for example; to analysis joint model.

Nice Experience with Statistical Analysis

Kommentare: I have been using Minitab for a long time and it is the best software that I used for statistical analysis of my projects. The result of the statistical analysis is acceptable and easy to move into other files. You can easily predict and visualize the data. Minitab is user-friendly statistical analysis programme.

Vorteile:

Minitab helps me rapidly make the statistical analysis. It just requires basic level of statistics. You can easily copy the results to word file or print by simple clicking. The results are simple enough to be understood by non-experts. You can easily move columns and modify the data in worksheets.

Nachteile:

The graphs attraction is limited and generally we have to re-plot the data in another program.

It is a really good software to do some statistical and exploratory data analysis for beginners. It get the basic job done like creating a normal distribution, box plots and also finding the P values.

Nachteile:

It does not have a lot of features like the new softwares in the market today like R, Python etc. It should get a revamp to stay in this market.

The best tool for statistical analysis and graphical representation of data.

Vorteile:

The software is easy to use, but also provides plenty of support/help resources. Provides the widest array of statistical analysis tools. The graphical outputs are amazing. I am able to constantly wow executive leadership with Minitab's control charts and other diagrams.

Nachteile:

Although many options are available for individual users that make costs effective, justifying the cost of the software to my organization has been challenging.

Good Standalone

Kommentare: If you need a statistical software that stands alone from any other system. Minitab is viable option. But, if you need it to tie to other systems to be feed the data, don't go this route. You can import data manually and copy manually, but that is it. This works the same way on export. So in other words, it is like a fancy calculator that you have sitting on your desk.
Over the years they have improved their navigation thru their menus, and added some functionality to it, but still lacks to other software packages.
If you have two or more systems that you use regularly (e.g. Virtual machine and Desktop Workstation), your license only supports one system. If you need it on both, you have to purchase a separate license. Even Autodesk has figured this out to not be a very viable option for their customers.
Be cautious about their training packages. You are not allowed to purchase a course, but only an allotted time for a course. So like most work environments, work can take priority over completing a course. So, if you do not complete it in time, you miss out.
It was a good statistical software back in their early years, but never kept up with technology and demand of the customers. And, it still has its old ghost that never were worked out of the system.
I don't suggest using this. Go with some other system that someone suggests highly, that meets the demands of this age, not an age gone past.

Modest app for Statistical data analysis

More feature update with better pricing. Although it is moderate price.
