Vorteile:

It's easy and straightforward to set up a remote assist session. The client is lightweight and does not cause a lot of performance impact on the host's PC.

Nachteile:

Price could be lower, but seems to reflect the market. Looking forward to the unattended access functionality which I'm told is expected to be released soon.

The Success with SetMe

Vorteile:

I appreciate having access to macOS machines from a company we trust and highly value, Techline. In perfect timing, this product became available when we needed to white-glove a few projects with our macOS fleet. The road map they provide shows an encouraging and tentative timeline for implemented features. We look forward to the unattended access, session transferring between our team, and branding/customization!

Nachteile:

It's a new product, so with that comes bugs. But customer support has been exceptional (shoutout to [sensitive content hidden]) in responding to issues, so we are thankful for this product.

I don't like that interruptions when i open setme console on another computer and i always get that another session was in session and i have to click and then close and then get going ... maybe add a MAC ADDRESS security option, so that any of these MAC addresses are allowed to use the set.me console. ?????

Vorteile:

not sure ... but certainly improvements over fixme. I would like the downloads function to be a bit more obvious when i goto www.set.me :: like a login link on that page.. Support has been VERY RESPONSIVE and has implemented several of my "wonderful" suggestions. :-)

Nachteile:

improve: I think that little square to minimize the top ribbon should go on the far left or right side so it doesn't eat up screen real-estate. I typically keep it there, but that extra vertical space getting used by the little square is a tad annoying....also: the scroll bar at the bottom of hte screen for multiple monitors needs to be bigger and a bright color like GREEN on BLACK or somthing so it obvious that there are multiple monitors .... ALSO: on unattended, sometimes when i connect to clients, they still have things open, would be NICE if maybe: the TEXT window auto-appeared in teh middle of their screen maybe to alert them that remoting is now happening, or something like that: I think maybe instead of just opening their screen that the bar appears to either texxt or remote open or something just to cause a delay maybe.

Kommentare: Meh, might hang on to fixme for a while yet till more issues are resolved.

Vorteile:

MFA authentication though smart phone apps. MAC remote support. Connects back to remote sessions after restarts (fixme would have problems with this).

Nachteile:

Top bar is annoying when in remote sessions. Scale it in to the window or allow it to be auto-hidden like in fixme. Admin rights to install setme as a service require the customer to click allow where fixme would just work. Still major clipboard issues just like with fixme if connected to more than one remote session. Less likely to connect back to remote session if joining a domain or changing any network or user profile settings than with fixme. Malware scan tools find SetMe as a threat. Some customers get stuck at connecting (after they have given us a the code) with SetMe and FixMe works fine.

As for the clipboard problem that you mentioned, it's actually a security measure that prevents the accidental pasting of sensitive content, such as passwords, when connected to multiple sessions. However, we do understand the importance of being able to share the clipboard with multiple remote machines. A Great Remote Support Product with a great price.

Kommentare: Set Me has been a great experience an we use it company wide for our helpdesk and technicians to assist our members around the world.

Vorteile:

I like that the product is constantly updated to keep on top of the security aspects. We also like the unattended features and the means to secure who can and cannot access certain workstations.

Nachteile:

The fact that they push updates at any particular time and there are times when you are in a hurry to access a workstation that you have to wait for the application to update.

Kommentare: SetMe is an indispensable part of my weekly workflow and I use it several times a day, and all day when I work remotely.

Vorteile:

The ability to switch monitors, locking the remote screen so that shoulder surfers can't audit the technician's work.

Nachteile:

At first, SetMe was slightly less responsive than FixMe.IT. Now, I can't detect any noticable difference.

Kommentare: For the most part SetMe does everything I need it to, it is by far the best remote application I have used.

Vorteile:

The fact that I can connect to both windows and MAC is a plus. Also not having to deal with windows user account control is very nice

Nachteile:

Still not sure about the unattended install and not allowing user to uninstall. The stored password creds have yet to work for me, when you click on sign in nothing happens

Best remote software

Kommentare: This has been a game changer for me because I know that I will be able to remote into a computer when I am working with a teacher.

Vorteile:

How easy it is to remote into computers in my district. We have used other programs before and it is always hit and miss if I could be able to connect to them.

Nachteile:

My only issue so far is with multiple screens. If I want to show them all it can be a pain sometimes to slide around. But it still works better than any other program I have ever used.

SetMe - The best choice for remote support

Kommentare: Very nice - not overwhelmed with excess features that "clunk up" the menus. It just gets me where I need to go quickly.

Vorteile:

Easy to use, quick to operate. Nice that it works cross-platform. Also the price is right.

Nachteile:

Program itself updates all the time. Seems like a couple times per week it's going through an update.

Kommentare: Overall, excellent experience. I've used FixMe and then SetMe for many years - this new program has more bells/whistles, but keeps the simplicity and functionality that I've grown to appreciate.

Vorteile:

Simplicity of use. Management and Connection is straightforward and quick.

Nachteile:

UPDATES - I know they're still developing, but seems like there is an update every couple of days - Each update requires the new software to download, update, and often log back in. Once it's finished and you're logged in, everything is quick but it's become a bit annoying at the frequency.

However, we've scaled back on frequent updates recently. Moreover, there are different notifications displayed in the topbar of your Expert console which can help you see whether you need to update right away or postpone the update: 1) the orange icon signals that a major update has arrived and you won't be able to start a new session unless you upgrade to the newest version of SetMe, 2) the green icon means that a minor update is available and you can upgrade the app to its latest version whenever you're ready. SetMe Review After Migrating from FixMe

Kommentare: Connection options are way better, and it's nice to be able to connect to multiple devices at once. I also like the tags feature so I can organize in a more logical way. I am looking forward to coming features like dark mode and auto-reconnect when switching to my expert console from another device.

Vorteile:

The evolution of features from FixMe allow for more flexibility in how I connect and manage my remote computers and servers. Their support has been *very* accepting of feedback and incorporating ideas into new versions of the product.

Nachteile:

Some design UI leaves less room to see important information that I use when connecting to multiple machines at once, say during a maintenance window. I would like to see the connection information condensed so allow me to see all of my connections at a glance without scrolling.

Great Product - Huge Improvement upon FixMe.IT

Kommentare: A very good product and an important tool in my support services tool kit. It helps me to remotely manage servers and desktops for my clients all over the world with ease.

Vorteile:

All the great featured of FixMe.IT but now with Mac support. Also, if you are a FixMe.IT customer they will migrate your connections to the new service. This includes all of the unattended account credentials, etc.

Nachteile:

I would love to see support for mobile devices. I think this is still lacking. Also, the price increased by about 33% on a monthly basis. But with the price increase over at FixMe.IT it is only a little more a month for all of the advanced features.

Almost perfect bit of software

Vorteile:

Really easy to use software for both client and support users, great UI, excellent support. Love that you can now see system info and paste clipboard data as keyboard strokes.

Nachteile:

The ctrl+alt+del button is too easy to click when trying to select the sub-menu the enters clipboard data as keystrokes. I've had numerous instances where Windows UAC pops up, I misclick on the tiny button to open the sub-menu that contains the function to enter clipboard data as keyboard strokes, accidentally click ctrl+alt+del and it closes the UAC. I've also accidentally clicked the windows+L option above which equally should be in a separate area. If you accidentally click the Windows+L button while you're working on a users machine while they are away, it can be very frustrating if you don't have their password to log back in.

Great remote support utility.

Kommentare: Started woth Fixme.it and moved to SetMe. The few times I asked for support, they were always super responsive.

Vorteile:

Very user friendly, and priced at a great price point.

Nachteile:

Updates require full reinstall of admin console.

Simplest and Easiest Remote Software Ever

Kommentare: Easily one of the best remote software out there for the sake of simplicity . We have tried all of the big name brands and none are as straight forward and easy as SetMe.

Vorteile:

Extremely easy to use! End users only need to provide a 6 digit code which couldn't be much more simpler.

Nachteile:

Getting onto Mac OS can be sometimes a challenge as it needs extra requirements to run but that more of Mac thing really.

SetMe is the way to go

Vorteile:

If you are looking for an easy to use, low cost, full featured, very well supported remote control and support software that handles both Windows and Apple products than this is the way to go in my option. Constantly updated and worked on by the company it is feature rich and a solid support tool. Very happy with it and I have been using it since the FixMe days.

Nachteile:

Right now the only con I have with the software is I am not a fan of the control panel colors scheme. I wish I could change it away from the pastel look. LOL. Seriously. I do not have any other complaints.

Setme smashes the competition

Kommentare: Overall it’s a great product. The price is right and the quality is good.

Vorteile:

Clean interface, reliable, constant updates and features, stability, price.

Nachteile:

I would like more granular control of the screen size and mouse movement. I don’t like that it automatically moves around the screen sometimes when I have a single smaller screen and working on a system with 2-3 screens that are larger.

Kommentare: overall experience with SetMe is very good, certainly one of the best and easiest support desk tools that I have used.

Vorteile:

Ease of use. Easily able to scale users screens. Ability to disable user end keyboard and mouse access. General look and feel of the application.

Nothing immediately springs to mind, having used other tools on helpdesk SetMe is right up there with the best.

Used Daily and so far its been great
