In my opinion DataSnipper is really useful now, everything is great.

Ease of use, functionality, storage, user friendly

Some excel glitches causes it to crash, bug fixes to cover this

Overall positive but improvements desired

Kommentare: Overall the software provided efficiencies in the audit and FS review processes. Though it does not fully provide what we need, the pros outweigh the cons, so we continue to use the software in out day to day audit and FS review processes.

Vorteile:

Reduced the amount of time reviewing financial statements, reduced audit documentation time, and increased efficiency in reviewing audit documentation

Nachteile:

There were multiple issues identified with the automated results of the financial statement suites, and reduced functionality of some features with the latest version issued made certain aspects of FS review more difficult than in previous versions.

The Bottomline: DataSnipper

Kommentare: Overall I had a great experience with DataaSnipper, I even took the time to watch other videos to improve my DataaSnipper skills.

Vorteile:

I loved the automated features. It enabled me to complete my detailed testing within an hour and this allowed me to conduct a proper test on all aspects as I didn't have any time constraints. The ability to search for a specific sentence in 100pages and be able to pull the information onto my working papers. The ability to also place validation checks on information where we reviewed is also a major plus.

Nachteile:

The zoom lesson was a bit too fast, however after watching the recording it was much easier to manage.

Implementaion process of DataSnipper in our audit firm

Kommentare: Implementing the tool was quite easy. The whole DataSnipper-Team is very helpful and has quick response times

Vorteile:

Easy to use; makes life easier for an auditor; allows perfect cross referencing; all documents are collected in one excel-sheet --> very easy to review to work papers

Nachteile:

Slows down the response times of excel-workbooks due to the embedded documents

Nachteile:

Slows excel, can't easily insert workpaper references during FS tie out.

Great software to ease the auditing documentation

Vorteile:

Nachteile:

Uses its own formatting, which is sometimes a little annoying in big files, should only just high light and rest of the formatting should be same like the cell. After deleting snips, also messes up formatting and not revert it to original self.

Increase productivity by saving a ton of time by using data snipper

Kommentare: Have definitely saved time. If the occasional crashes are taken care of, It will be the best app.

Vorteile:

OCR functionality, Copy from clipboard, Document matching, sum snip

Nachteile:

It highlights the number I selected in excel, but it does not navigate to that exact field. That functionality using a button will be very helpful

Use of DS for Audit

Kommentare: In conclusion, Datasnipper weighs more on pros rather than cons.

Vorteile:

Certainly document matching, text snip, sum snip.

Nachteile:

Makes file size larger when documents are uploaded for data snipping. Sometimes when it's too much documents, it makes the excel slow or not responding.

Reviewing Audit Workpapers

Vorteile:

Most impactful feature for me is DataSnipper can show where the numbers/words come from. This is critical when I review audit workpapers prepared by my staff. By this function, I don’t need to search tickmarks put in the evidence documents.Also, DataSnipper is intuitive to use, so it's easy to teach staff how to use it.

Nachteile:

Table Snip is a powerful feature, but I think it could be better.If there is an option like Text snip that can indicate where the numbers and strings are coming from, work efficiency will be greatly improved. Currently I achieve this with a combination of Table Snip and Document Matching, but I wish Table Snip could do it in one shot.

Amazing tool-Data Snipper

Kommentare: I Love data snipper and would be recommending it to all colleagues and friends.

Vorteile:

Data snipper helped avoid manually entering data and it reduced the time to 1/10th of what it took originally and also eliminate any human errors.

Nachteile:

Sometimes table snip can throw the formatting a bit off. Apart from that there's nothing that comes to mind so far.

Kommentare: Great so far, a great time saver and accuracy checker for the team

Vorteile:

The internal consistency check and PY figures check - very quick and useful for checking for errors and more accurate than a manual review

Nachteile:

The export of version comparison - It is not so easy to review when exported into excel. The export of the PY comparison checker is a lot more useful. The casting of sums is also inconsistent. Sometimes it does not recognise columns with totals casted sideways across the page.

Data Snipper

Vorteile:

I would 100% recommend Data snipper for use. The functionality does reduce significant time for the audit and also provides a valuable linkage to audit evidence from our audit. The casting function of the financial statements is awesome as it does not only casts but provides an idea of how the calculations were derived. Kudos to the team.

Nachteile:

None identified at the moment. Would send through if anything comes up.

Saves time

Kommentare: It is a great and wonderful product, saves me alot of time and energy that I can use to allocate to other seemingly related important tasks

Vorteile:

Automation in analyzing documents and the highlights from them are easy and help to follow or trace where an error could be located for instance in cast checking.

Nachteile:

It takes alittle bit of time to load at initial loading

Kommentare: Definitely changes the way I would work on my audit engagements. Massive leg up from doing things manually. Great software to use.

The text recognition feature is really good.

Nachteile:

Customization is less, I would like to be able to choose the font of the input.For Tables, only 1 cell is linked to the source document, I would like for that to be the full table (so anywhere I click on the table, I am able to view the source file). Also, would LOVE the ability to link cells to documents manually.There should also be a default option to keep the data snipper window closed until required when a file is opened.

Data Snipper use

Kommentare: it was good and an effiecient way to do the testing. I will recommend this to my other colleagues as well.

Vorteile:

it is really an efficient way to document the samples, especially the pdf samples and the matemathical accuracy check is also good

Nachteile:

This is more of a suggestion, that just like Data Snipper reads the pdf and copy the data from pdf, if it can do the same thing with images etc.

The document matching feature reduces the workload and also includes the supporting documents on excel for ease of tracing of samples.

Nachteile:

The document matching feature sometimes matches samples to wrong documents.
