Additionally, the pricing structure can be discriminatory towards customers with lower volumes, which can be frustrating.There are also some functional issues that could potentially affect the reliability and accuracy of the tool. For example, the Validation Snip does not actually validate amounts and users may unintentionally mark something as validated when it is not. The Table Snip also has issues when editing rows, which can cause data to be merged incorrectly.Another area for improvement is the lack of formatting options and inability to change general settings of functions, such as font size and color. Additionally, it would be helpful to have the ability to insert audit ticks into imported documents.While the FIND ALL SUMs function is useful, it does not always accurately check the totals when there is a net total, and the SUM Snip may pick up some numbers with a minus sign when they should be positive. DS's use may cause Excel to freeze and it's incompatible with older versions of Office, but doesn't detract from its overall value.

Vorteile:

It's a cool tool to attach documents to a working paper with easy referral to the desired place in the document.

Nachteile:

The data recognition gave me many discrepancies that I couldn't use the tool to check the relevant data

Efficient

Kommentare: Overall, it very useful and efficient to use.

Vorteile:

It helps users save time of copying and pasting data from pdf to excel file. It makes the work more efficient.

Nachteile:

When having big multiple files imported, it slows down the opening of workpapers.

Datasnipper is worth it!

Kommentare: Datasnipper solves the time problem in audit by eliminating the need to capture support manually and also human error where mistakes are made when documents are captured. These documents are imported and the detail thereon is either extracted or snipped instead of being captured manually by retyping from physical documents. Which saves alot of time and also does not leave juniors stuck on tasks for hours and hours.

Vorteile:

Datasnipper eliminates phantom ticking - one of audit engagements worst threat (the threat that an audit member will state that it is correct without checking the support or substance) Due to the ability of the software to import the support and then allow the manager to check it that what is tested is correct is fantastic. Also significantly reduces capturing errors made by junior staff when capturing a lot of support.

Nachteile:

Some features are not available and require additional expansion or products to get the use of the functionality. The standard model is great but is not really competing with all the additional features that are available and you are limited to the subscriptions purchased by the organization as a user.

Datasnipper Fanatic

Kommentare: Sensational, probably my favorite tool to use while completing testing. Genuinely get excited when I find a good opportunity to use it!

Vorteile:

Datasnipper allows everyone to work faster through testing in audit. Whether it's using it for manual snips to avoid typing, or using document matching or form extraction to pull information quickly from hundreds on invoices... Datasnipper is a time saver for all parties from staff to partner.

Nachteile:

Not much, I think they need to publicize training videos or make more of them so people understand how to use it more. I've been teaching alot of poeple within my firm personally. I want everyone to use it!

At times file becomes heavy, Sum snip lacks at times.

Increase productivity by saving a ton of time by using data snipper

Kommentare: Have definitely saved time. If the occasional crashes are taken care of, It will be the best app.

Vorteile:

OCR functionality, Copy from clipboard, Document matching, sum snip

Nachteile:

It highlights the number I selected in excel, but it does not navigate to that exact field. That functionality using a button will be very helpful

The Bottomline: DataSnipper

Kommentare: Overall I had a great experience with DataaSnipper, I even took the time to watch other videos to improve my DataaSnipper skills.

Vorteile:

I loved the automated features. It enabled me to complete my detailed testing within an hour and this allowed me to conduct a proper test on all aspects as I didn't have any time constraints. The ability to search for a specific sentence in 100pages and be able to pull the information onto my working papers. The ability to also place validation checks on information where we reviewed is also a major plus.

Nachteile:

The zoom lesson was a bit too fast, however after watching the recording it was much easier to manage.

Datasnipper saves time and money in audit

Kommentare: I do enjoy all the benefits of DataSnipper, as it saves a lot of time, which I can spend on more important tasks in my work.

Vorteile:

I do enjoy that this software allows things to be easier in the form of importing documents, and importing specific lines of information into excel. It's very good that I can set the format of the first page of the documentation, and it can import information into excel from multiple pages. This makes testing much easier, and saves a lot of time. This enables me as the user to focus on analytical tasks in my work, rather than retyping information from various sources for my audit documentation.

Nachteile:

Nothing comes to mind. I cannot think of any specific shortcomings of this software.

Use of Datasnipper as an auditor

Love every bit of it! Datasnipper shows a tremendous effort to create value for the users.

Vorteile:

converting of PDF in editable data, matching document.

Nachteile:

sometimes numerics come out as texts, you needd enough training.

Extract data from PDFs.

Kommentare: Excellent.

Vorteile:

Data is easy to extract from pdf documents which can be used in excel. Form extraction saves you time by extracting data from a large set of documents in a minute.

Nachteile:

The ability to put the documents in order for form extraction.

Easy to use and saves our time.They also keep updating the software with bug fixing and new features.

Nachteile:

Sometimes some "snips" stop working and we don't always understand why.

Nachteile:

That when i use document matching on f.example. dates, if many invoices have the same date, one document gets all the snips. Maybe there could have been a place to "hook" that you want max one snip per document when you use document matching?

vouching documents and linking them together to perform data analytics was made easier and more accurately recorded amounts.

Nachteile:

snipping manually amounts especially if there are numerous documents to filter

Great time saver

Kommentare: Definitely changes the way I would work on my audit engagements. Massive leg up from doing things manually. Great software to use.

The text recognition feature is really good.

Nachteile:

Customization is less, I would like to be able to choose the font of the input.For Tables, only 1 cell is linked to the source document, I would like for that to be the full table (so anywhere I click on the table, I am able to view the source file). Also, would LOVE the ability to link cells to documents manually.There should also be a default option to keep the data snipper window closed until required when a file is opened.

Makes work more efficient

Snip tables feature. It is a quick way to add tables to create lead schedules and cast financial statement

Nothing yet, I still need to explore more features.

Vorteile:

Nachteile:

It makes my system and excel hang and slow when I import like 2 folders into my workpaper.

Kommentare: Great so far, a great time saver and accuracy checker for the team

Vorteile:

The internal consistency check and PY figures check - very quick and useful for checking for errors and more accurate than a manual review

Nachteile:

The export of version comparison - It is not so easy to review when exported into excel. The export of the PY comparison checker is a lot more useful. The casting of sums is also inconsistent. Sometimes it does not recognise columns with totals casted sideways across the page.

Nachteile:

We had not experienced any issues with installation and implementation of the software. Few demonstrations were sufficient in order to apply in everyday procedures.

The features of data snipper has actually made things pretty easier for the audit procedures and honestly has reduced alot of efforts of the staffs like us. specially the table snip which helps us prepare the clericals super faster than before.

Nachteile:

Ofcourse we always have some improvement points but i cant think of any currently so far it has been good. thanks.

New DataSnipper user

Vorteile:

I like it that DataSnipper allows you to export data on .pdf files which have the same format.

Nachteile:

I have been trying to export data on .pdf files with different formats, but haven't had much luck yet. I know that it is one of the features of DataSnipper. I just haven't had time to look at the videos to learn how to do this.
