As it is now, there's no reason for my clients to even log into the portal because everything just goes to their email. But emails can get messy so i'd prefer the alternative.

Best project management tool for our agency!
Kommentare: Bonsai has significantly boosted our team's productivity, allowing us to focus more on delivering quality services to our clients. We highly recommend it to any agency or other type of small business looking to improve their business processes.
Vorteile:
As a creative agency of over 15+ professionals, Bonsai has transformed our workflow. We started using them when we were only 2 people on the team, and we used Bonsai only for a few features at the beginning (proposals, contracts and invoicing). But as our team grew to nearly 20 people now, we started needing more features, and surprisingly, Bonsai grew as well and launched the features we needed like project management and budgeting, team resource planning and business profitability overview. It made our operations more efficient by simplifying the overall project management process and working with clients. We also tested a few other tools in the meantime but Bonsai was the only one that hit the sweet spot of easiness of use and a comprehensive list of features that seem to be specifically built for agency workflows. Additionally, the customer support is top-notch, always responsive and knowledgeable.
Nachteile:
The only thing I'd suggest is to have maybe a little bit more design/structure control over client portal.

Kommentare: Bonsai has been very essential to my freelance career when I was part time to now being a full time freelancer. When starting out, I just needed the essential tools - invoicing, accounting, time tracking, contracts and proposals - which Bonsai offered immediately. Down the line, they added new features that boosted what I can also add to my workflow management such as forms, scheduling and now a cool project board view besides the generic list view! It allowed me to have a business debit account while major banks require small businesses to be active for a certain amount of time before qualifying for a business account. Overall - NO FRILLS, but still A GEM.
Vorteile:
Very straightforward, simple and user-friendly. Everything a freelancer or contractor needs to keep their small business financially organized is in Bonsai.
Nachteile:
I hope the mobile and desktop app would be expanded. The browser app is cool, but I would love to just click onto an app icon to access my dashboard without having to get on Chrome. Might also be great to have a client be able to access and view their mini portal on Bonsai without creating an account - this way they can view the active project I'm working on with them and access invoices.
Good alternative to Dubsado, still lacking in features
Kommentare: So far, good. Customer service doesn’t have a live chat and responds within a day, which is ok. Again, I’m used to Dubsado which has live support. For the same price, I got better support and more features. However, I didn’t get the ability to enforce contracts, which is really what the switch was for. I can’t say it was an even switch and if the customer service and white labeling matched, I’d be ecstatic.
Vorteile:
I liked the ease of setup and the ability to enforce contracts and setup workflows, but the workflows are still disjointed when it comes to connecting invoices, proposals, and contracts. What seems intuitive is not and what would make logical sense is not available.
Nachteile:
Stripe integration is not visible unless certain settings are made (however, I’m still not able to get that functional). White labeling isn’t available for subdomains.
Horrendous Customer Service

I like the tax add-on that allows me to pull P&L reports. It's the only reason I haven't canceled my subscription. Bonsai's customer service is disgusting!
Nachteile:
Everything except the tax add-on. Bonsai canceled my account without warning because Stripe couldn't verify my identity, EVEN THOUGH in their FAQs, it says there are other ways to do so if we reach out via email.I resubscribed (since I canceled my Quickbooks and Honeybook subscriptions) and got verified, but they locked my account pending said verification. Contacted customer service via chat, and they read my message and then closed the conversation ticket.Followed up with an email and two months later, nothing has changed.

Kommentare: Before Bonsai I was using many programs for proposals, CRM, invoicing, and contracts. Since switching to Bonsai I honestly have to say that I have saved several thousand dollars per year and my life has been much easier and more organized. Bonsai has systems that have automation so if a customer does one particular item the Bonsai system will automatically send an email with a form that I would like my customer to submit. Bonsai is definitely a game changer and I would highly recommend any business owner to look at their system and hopefully see the benefits that they can receive by using Bonsai.
Vorteile:
Bonsai makes everything extremely streamlined and very easy and user-friendly. From the time I input a lead to creating the proposal to invoicing the customer and finalizing the project, Bonsai makes everything hassle-free and extremely easy.
Nachteile:
The only suggestion I would have or like to see for Bonsai would be for them to allow me as the business owner to arrange the look and feel of how my customer dashboard is arranged.
Great tool business management

I've experimented with various business apps such as Bonsai, but none of them compare to its CRM and invoicing capabilities. Its combination of reasonable pricing and comprehensive features makes it unbeatable. Additionally, its customer service is exceptional.
Nachteile:
I wish there was a better portal for clients, where we can have conversations within the portal, upload specific files within the portal, assign tasks, etc. As it is now, there's no reason for my clients to even log into the portal because everything just goes to their email. but emails can get messy so i'd prefer the alternative.

What's NOT the most impactful LOL! I use Bonsai for EVERY PART OF MY PROJECT ( well that, and the Google Drive). From storing client information, to creating projects, invoices, time tracking, invoices, contracts et all... Bonsai has really streamlined the administration side of my small business. They are also SUPER quick to respond with support when needed. Huge Fan of Bonsai and happy I chose them over everyone else <3
Nachteile:
I would love to be able to add my accountant to the accounting area without having to add her as a partner... and I love the idea of the cash feature and envelopes just wish you could make this work with an external bank as I prefer to run my business account separate to the Bonsai system

The initial payout for the invoicing was over two weeks. I understand that it is in place to ensure security, however that amount of time can feel like forever to a small business.

I have been searching for a one stop solution for a small consulting business as mine. This is the closest to the best there is on the market. It works. I has so many features that others just don’t have. It’s well thought out and well presented. Great software.
Nachteile:
1. Could be integrated with a phone call feature 2. Could have a check deposit feature for the banking aspect 3. Payouts could be a little faster 4. Mobile app could be upgraded to so more from the app.

Simple invoicing, client management for a servicing business, proposal + contract templates. Allowed me to jump-start a lot of the tedious parts.
Nachteile:
Task and project management capabilities aren't really comparable to other modern systems if you're doing anything complicated.
Bonsai is a Great Service for Freelancers and Small Businesses
Kommentare: Overall, Bonsai provides a great service for Freelancers and Small Businesses. They have all the tools and resources needed to conduct business and get paid. Their invoices are very straightforward so as not to confuse the client's when they receive their invoice.
Vorteile:
Bonsai has all the tools a freelancer, or small business, may need to contract work.
Nachteile:
Sometimes it takes a few days to get a response from Bonsai's customer service reps but they have a forms page that has a lot of answers. This form can answer most of the questions you have so you don't have to contact customer service reps.
Poor Customer Support and Horrible Payment Processing
Kommentare: Never had an issue before until a client I recently acquired that Bonsai has held my funds since October 5th and it is as of to date October 9th not been resolved and no hopes of it being resolved quickly.

High processing fees for payment and HORRIBLE timing to release payment. No Customer service number to speak with a human. Poor turn around response, believe it to be AI Generated. Disgusting customer service resolution and unacceptable responses to major concerns regarding payments.

Nachteile:
Some of the features that Bonsai offers could be much more intuitive. Simplification it great overall, but in some ways Bonsai over-simplifies. Especially when it comes to project management.
Shady business practices and terrible customer service
Kommentare: Horrible experience, they have their system setup to auto charge you after the trial expires and don't send any sort of email notifications to let you know you're trial is being paid. Customer service is useless and not helpful. Please check other reviews as t here are plenty of examples from others of cancelling of accounts and holding customer paid funds.

The product is super easy to use, and i love the templates for contracts and proposals and invoices. It has helped me look professional and streamline my customer management.

The generic contracts are good. The invoices are easy to set up.
Nachteile:
It´s expensive for the features it has. The invoices sometimes are not very well matched to the client or contract. Especially when you change something in the agreement before publishing it, the invoices are generated as the template was. The taxes feature is not good, unprecise, and useless. It´s expensive for what it does.

Kommentare: Mediocre, I liked it at first, then felt it wasn't worth the money.
Vorteile:
They have good contract and proposal templates, and the platform is well designed.
Nachteile:
The payment processing times were misleading, there was different info in their FAQ, in the email confirmation for payments, and what showed up within the interface. I felt like the customer service was passive-aggressive, and for the price, I found an alternative option that does everything I need for about 1/4 of the price.
Almost perfect solution
Kommentare: Overall it was pretty good and I almost switched over my CRM entirely, but it has some missing features that make it not feasible at this time.

Bonsai has a lot of the core features to manage and run a business, and is very easy to use. The cost is very good for the amount of features you get.
Nachteile:
I can’t add contacts to the CRM portion without adding an email address, which is necessary when you meet some people at networking events and only have their LinkedIn info. It also doesn’t provide a good way to store contacts who are not customers.
