There are a lot of bugs in Neon. One of the most frustrating is that sometimes my searches do not return an account until I type out the whole account name.

Good system for the money that practices continuous improvement
Kommentare: Overall, it is a robust system. The help center is very functional. For a new non-profit I would recommend it. For a larger staff, I would be hesitant.
Vorteile:
I have used and recommended NEON for a few years. For the money it is a robust system. The event management is one of the easiest to use and you can set up multiple programs levels easily.
Nachteile:
The reporting is difficult, except for getting event registrations out. To create a custom report is extremely frustrating.

Simple and Straightforward
Kommentare: Overall, Neon CRM is a great product for the cost. As a smaller nonprofit, most of our budget goes directly back into youth programs.
Vorteile:
Neon CRM is a simple, straightforward tool. It's easy to use and there are a lot of resources and tools to help onboard new users. It's cost-effective for our nonprofit and enables us to track donors, volunteers, and donations in one place.
Nachteile:
A feature that could be improved at our subscription level is the ability to automate workflows. As it is, we have to manually pull reports to see if donors need to be contacted, moved along the pipeline, etc. It would be a huge improvement if Neon CRM offered a budget friendly alternative that enabled us to set contact on a pipeline and receive reminders when it's time to move them along.

Has value; clunky in some uses; Customer Support is slow
Kommentare: I inherited this platform. While I've spent time to try and learn how to make it work best for my organization, there are still bugs that make the user experience less than optimal. If it weren't such a hassle to try and implement a new CRM solution, I'd consider switching.
Vorteile:
The ability to track and monitor donations, fundraising activities, and donor records is valuable and easy to navigate.
Nachteile:
Some features are clunky. Web design leads quite a bit to be desired. Toggling through screens seems unnecessary at times. Compatability with other similar tools for integration are often not easy to set up, and seem overly costly. Customer support takes way too long to resolve, while multiple automated emails seem to want to close a ticket rather than humans seeking to help client users. No real way to contact user support rather than email tickets via the automated online assistant.

It sounds like your org has been using tons of the functionalities in Neon CRM like tracking and monitoring donations, fundraising campaigns, and maintaining donor records. Pretty much all of our integrations have no recurring costs associated. All of our packages do include unlimited email/ticket support, as well as access to our support center, neon one academy, live group trainings, and open office hours. It seems like signing up for open hours or our live group trainings might help alleviate some of the wait times you're experiencing, while also gaining access to one of our team members. If you do wish to purchase additional support options, you can add-on phone/live chat support for a small monthly up-charge and we offer extended training hours for purchase, if that is something you think would be helpful.
Neon CRM: Good experience
Kommentare: Overall, good experience. We use it for donor, grants, volunteer, campaign, and event management.
Vorteile:
Ease of use. The monthly updates recordings/webinars are so helpful!
Nachteile:
Ease of finding a voice to talk to for a simple inquiry instead of using the Neon One Academy.

Beginner Picking Up from Prior Admins
Kommentare: Overwhelmed. I am the only employee in a nonprofit that has over 200 members so much of my time is spoken for and though I need to give Neon CRM time and attention, I feel guilty doing so and thus get distracted when I am going through training processes so I feel I am not retaining the info I'm reading/watching.
Vorteile:
I can see the potential of it being very effective in our organization but again, having a hard time locating implementation documents a prior administration set up or where things were left off.
Nachteile:
The Neon One Academy seems to have most of the information I need to navigate and learn but it does not keep track of where I left off in the training modules so I am constantly trying to remember where I to restart when I am able to revisit the trainings. There also seems to be lots of the same training info in different places so I get confused as to what or where to go next. Also having a hard time trying to figure out how to use all relevant features without using Neon Pay for any of them. (Due to our org having to use our fiscal agent's financial processing system, Stripe.)

Balancing your time with the plethora of tasks and duties and still trying to move your mission forward is one of the hardest things to do, and Neon CRM's goal is to make that easier. I'm glad you've been able to find some value out of Neon One Academy. If you haven't already, I'd suggest enrolling in the orientation course (https://academy.neonone.com/page/neon-crm-orientation). Another resource that could be fruitful for you is our open office hours. you can pop int a zoom room with our consulting team to get your questions answered in real time (https://academy.neonone.com/page/neon-crm-live-trainings). Alternatively, we do offer live chat and phone support for a small monthly fee, as well as extended training hours. I'm confident that once you get a grasp of the platform, it will make a world of difference for your prioritization and efficiency.

It's OK - needs to be modernized
Vorteile:
Neon has some powerful, fast database capabilities. We find it quick to respond when looking for records, generating reports, or soring data. It's also very capable at handling duplicate records and the searching is very good. It's also stable - seems to be built on a solid foundation and performs well.
Nachteile:
Much of Neon seems to be cobbled together from older generations of development. There is a lack of consistency in the admin interfaces, and I find myself lost trying to do the simplest thing (like updating a system email) ... and I took a year of computer science as an undergrad. The emails are not responsive for mobile, and the custom web pages are nearly impossible to present to our members because they simply don't match our brand at all. The event lack any sort of presentation in a calendar view. Neon updates their platform each month, however, IMHO, they're focussing on the wrong thing. I would expect the development team there to streamline the admin interface, make the basic tools like emails, events, and member sign up pages more modern and mobile-ready. I find myself wanting to head over to a WordPress solution to consolidate everything, but we've invested time and money into this already so we're going to ride it out for a while. If you go with Neon, I suggest you budget time (and money) for tech support and have someone on staff or on call who can wrangle the harder parts of the admin interface for you.
NeonCRM Review
Kommentare: So far I love it, but we've yet to go live, so this may be a bit premature.

Flexibility and it covers all the bases we were looking for and then some.
Nachteile:
I think that the household function is a bit clunky. It's not that intuitive, but I figured it out. Also, it seems there are various topics I can't find by searching in the Academy.

Kommentare: Over I'm really happy with Neon. It's a great product, you get access to so much support and a robust knowledge base filled with guides and training that will help a lot. It's intuitive and really friendly. I've also seen Neon transition to building a community where you get additional support from other Neon users as well as Neon employees. When I first started there was no where to really provide feedback and now there is a portal for that and it's so nice to see actual user ideas get implemented. Neon has really made strides to make clients feel heard and valued and it shows.
Vorteile:
I like how user friendly it is, not only was it an easy system to learn myself it's easy for staff that may not have experience with a CRM to use and feel confident using. In my past experience with different organizations and different databases there is a lot of fear and reluctance around using the database and with Neon we have 100% of our staff in the database
Nachteile:
There are somethings Neon still has to work on that are standard in other databases. I think they'll eventually be addressed because Neon really listens to feedback but, for example, the fact that there isn't an alias field that is search bar accessible is a little frustrating. People change their names all the time, and you don't want to lose that data. I created a custom field for it but that's not search bar accessible. It doesn't hinder my ability to use the database but it is a little frustrating not to have.

NEONCRM is solid
Kommentare: Pretty solid platform - I enjoy using it.
Vorteile:
Neon gets the job done and is pretty intuitive. I use it several times a day and find it to be easy to use.
Nachteile:
I don't like the barriers to customer service/tech support. Often times I need a very quick question answered to move forward, and I'm delayed by several days becasue I have to schedule a call. I wish the app had not been abandoned. I wish the tribute gift function was more functional - during the reconciliation process, it would be nice to have a checkbox to mark when an acknowledgement card was sent to the honoree.

Watch out for Neon's cancelation fees
Kommentare: Useful and worth it to us for how we benefitted when we were paying $50/month. Not worth it to us anymore when they doubled our cost. When we canceled our account, they said they'd charge another 3 months ($300) because apparently we'd agreed to that (in the fine print of their many page contract). A ridiculous waste of money. We could use that $300 to feed our service dogs in training. Customer service from Neon is very slow to respond to questions, set up seminars to tutor our employees when needed.
Vorteile:
Captured our donor database and allowed us to track donors. Pinned note feature great to record facts about each donor.
Nachteile:
Forms not usable for us - not enough fields, so we couldn't run our donations through Neon. Had to manually enter each donation to capture it on Neon.

Neon CRM Review
Kommentare: Mediocre but I need the data so put up with it.
Vorteile:
I like that people can sign up and pay for events. I like having donations come right into the system.
Nachteile:
Not user friendly, especially when it comes to designing reports. I don't like that duplicates are not being alerted to - there are many duplicates that don't automatically merge. I also don't like that thank you letter templates aren't able to be individualized or edited at all.
We need LIVE customer support
Kommentare: 2.5/10 > We need a PERSON to speak to right when the issue happens. not days later. You know why you have an "influx of tickets" because no one is ANSWERING THEM. This really feels like a massive bait and switch. Sell us on all the good stuff then when we have questions or need assistance we get told to kick rocks.

The implementation was pretty easy. I like the 'pop up' donation form. Unfortunately, everything else seems to be a real headache
Nachteile:
1) Customer Support is the WORST I've ever dealt with from a company. Waiting DAYS just to get an answer to a seemingly simple answer. What's worse is often times we don't get an actual answer, we an article that tells us nothing or we get redirected and have to wait WEEKS before we hear from anyone. 2) Finding anything in the Global Settings is a NIGHTMARE. Everything is so small and close together and half the time the name has either changes from the reference article or its in a complete out of place area that really makes no sense
Very nice tool, slick and easy to use
Kommentare: Above all, Neon CRM is part of our institutional memory efforts. Previously, we had one employee who kept all notes in his brain, on cocktail napkins, and in Arts People ticketing. I've seen other CRM interfaces, and Neon looks the best, works the best, and does its best to keep things simple.
Vorteile:
We integrate Neon CRM with Arts People. Arts People is great for large-event ticketing, and CRM is great for donor management. Neon CRM is easy to use, easy to teach, and, best of all, we are able to maintain institutional memory.
Nachteile:
There's nothing I don't like about CRM, although I'd like to see cumulative reports on household donations.

Great Donor Management Software
Kommentare: Overall we are very happy to NeonCRM. My one and only concern is the customer support and account management seems to be lacking a bit. I get emails often regarding "changes" to our account that in face do not affect us because we are currently on a contract with NEON. With staff overturn you never know who your account manager is (I have worked with 5 account managers in a matter of 2 years. The software is great and we will continue to use it as we find that it is very helpful for what we are doing.
Vorteile:
Coming from Blackbuad and Raiser's Edge, it was really important to find a software that was user friendly and easy to learn. NeonCRM is that software. You don't need a ton of training to navigate around the system and find what you are looking for.
Nachteile:
Our hope was this software would be able to take the place of many of our others and put things in one place. Although it was able to do that for a majority we still hope to see an auction component to NeonCRM. This was one of the items that was discussed when we were looking at software and our rep mentioned Neon was working at an integration for this in the future and still waiting for it.

Started good and now terrible
Vorteile:
The company was good when we first started using it several years ago. It is now a larger company that seems to value profit over happy clients.
Nachteile:
Too expensive for what is included, horrible customer support, may take over a week to respond.

Neon CRM has Been so Beneficial for Our Company
Kommentare: I feel very confident using Neon. It has been a good fit for us, in tracking donors and maintaining their record of giving. Many are monthly donors, that are utilizing the e-check and credit card features on a recurring basis. We have seen growth in our fan base, and it is reflected in the financial support that we can see in Neon's documented record-keeping.
Vorteile:
We are able to track the giving of our supporters, and respond with receipt of acknowledgement.We can generate reports for specific campaigns and donor demographics.
Nachteile:
We have not utilized the QuickBooks integration that is offered. Would like to see more guidance on how to incorporate that . Also, duplicating records are not always "caught" ... it can be tedious detecting them. (Like a first name must match exactly- i.e: Tom Jones will not match Thomas Jones, etc.)

We've been using neon for a range of operations, including newsletter, developing a data base, event registration. The support, Carlos, has been terrific, very patient man.
Nachteile:
Like with everything it takes time to learn, so that, I will have to learn all of the functionalities over time.

Refused to turn over data without paying outrageous fee, then refused to cancel service
Vorteile:
Before all the mergers/vc/private equity, they were decent to work with.
Nachteile:
I asked for my donors' encrypted data. They refused to give it without paying them an outrageous fee. I said I refused to pay the fee, and they promptly invited me to cancel. I tried to cancel, but they wouldn't without having a phone call first. When I told them I didn't want a phone call, they told me I had to submit a form, and that my monthly fees would continue to accumulate for 90 days after I completed the form. They hold you hostage to their service, then refuse to let you cancel. I'll be reporting them to my state's consumer protection agency as well.
Neon is good, but only if you have a team working in it - it is best for medium to large teams
Kommentare: Good, but it needs to work for 2nd graders. Many nonprofits outsource data entry to volunteers and if the volunteers have a tough time using a system, so too does a nonprofit have a tough time getting the data out of it that it needs.
Vorteile:
I like it's level of detail around donor data, as well as its dashboard.
Nachteile:
It's not super user-friendly. It's not mobile friendly. it's report creation is challenging. It's on-demand training is not helpful.

Neon CRM: Robust and easy to use
Kommentare: Since we've been using Neon CRM, our overall fundraising has increased dramatically. At the end of the day, that is the name of the game for nonprofits, so it's really important. And, being able to see at a glance how we're doing in new donors, reactivated donors, etc. from the dashboards is very helpful.
Vorteile:
Neon CRM replaced ETapestry for Lung Cancer Foundation of America. The ease of use in all aspects - donation tracking, fundraising campaign setup and monitoring, reporting, etc. are so much appreciated after working for so long without that ease. So, this makes our everyday tasks go much faster and we've been able to utilize the peer to peer and campaign features to be able to bring on new donors and track specific donation campaigns very easily. But, probably the very best feature is the training. Whenever we come up with some wacky question on "how can we do..." we set up a training session and they've always got a path to help us do whatever new thing we're trying.
Nachteile:
I would like to have all database fields available no matter which type of report I'm trying to pull. Not sure if that is feasible or even advisable, but, sometimes I need info from a field that is available on a different report, but not on the type of report I need at that time.

Critical platform to our business performance
Kommentare: We are very proud to partner with Neon One. Their business team is responsive and helpful. The company is an exceptional corporate citizen. I have also been very impressed with their willingness to help us network with their other clients.
Vorteile:
Neon One allows us to centralize our operations and interactions with our clients. The single sign on function means we can track all of our processes through the CRM, giving us a single source of truth to analyze and report our successes.
Nachteile:
Editing letters within the platform is a little cumbersome.
