Great code editor

Kommentare: Overall, Atom Editor is a great text editor for coding. It's mainly a secondary text editor for me but it helps me stay organized when I need to work on multiple text files at once.

Vorteile:

I like the extensibility of Atom. It helps me be more productive when coding.

Nachteile:

I don't have anything I don't like about Atom.

Beautiful editor with extra-loaded features.

Kommentare: Atom is a very powerful editor which is modular and highly customizable. Since its free and open-source, it has strong community support and plethora of community-developed packages to extend its functionality. It can open any type of code file (say Java, Python, XML, etc) and also supports multiple character encodings like Unicode and ANSI. If you have a powerful machine that can handle Atom, Outlook, Teams, and a few Chrome tabs at the same time, then you should definitely try Atom.

Vorteile:

Atom supports markdown out-of-the-box and also supports LaTeX through an extension. Combined with all other features, it is ideal for writing scientific papers. Also supports Regex search which is quite useful to retrieve search hits across all project files. It supports auto indentation and folding which are crucial for code editing. It is highly customizable and we can even register our own shortcuts using keybindings.

Nachteile:

Atom is resource intensive and a bit slow so it takes sometime to startup. It is not very beginner friendly and has a learning curve. Getting used to all the functionalities and mastering the shortcuts takes a while. For a beginner, the packages and extensions could get complicated; even the GitHub integration takes a few steps to setup.

Good for the generation Z and beyond

Vorteile:

The integration of both code editing and customization seems to good to be true for an old dinosaur and lover of Notepad.

Nachteile:

Speaking as a loyal user of old but trusty Notepad I can say that the only bad thing is the pricing thing and the full customization that makes it to flashy for just coding.

Solid code editor

Kommentare: Works well, solid choice. I'd go with VS Code though for modern JavaScript development.

Vorteile:

It has a lot of the top-notch quality of life hotkeys you want from a modern editor. You can duplicate lines without copying to the clipboard, and set your cursor up in multiple locations for instance. It also supports a bevy of community-created packages that make your life easier.

Nachteile:

It lacks the top-notch intellisense that VS code has. It simply doesn't seem as popular as other choices and therefore you may be the only one using it in your department. It is not a full IDE experience and you don't have access to the terminal like you do in VS Code. Atom feels a little slower than other editors.

because it is free and open source, It also has a good interface to use the program and Color coded syntax. The code format makes it easy for all users to read and understand

Nachteile:

There should be a better guide page for users hints to learn keyboard shortcuts for write code fast, Support GIT

For a fast fix Atom fits the bill.

Kommentare: At this time I use it as a secondary tool for minor edits on isolated files. I will always like Atom but at this point in my professional development the shoe does not fit so well and I primarily use a more feature rich tool.

Vorteile:

Lightweight and pleasant to use editor which will generally not burden your environment. Great community. It's free :) Atom's auto-complete is pretty decent/

Nachteile:

Add-ons can potentially ruin your experience. Packages can weigh it down to the point of freezing.

Atom Editor Review

Kommentare: Overall I would recommend it to others. It has a great plugin library and it does what it needs to do.

Vorteile:

Colored coded syntax, Customable colors, supports multiple languages. Supported with Linux

Nachteile:

It's not the fastest start up time. No self correct which is important feature to me

Free and Feature-Rich Text Editor+IDE

Vorteile:

The features and UI are amazing. The power mode has to be one of my favorite augmentation extensions ever. As Nuclide, it became a powerful all-in-one IDE.

Nachteile:

This app is unfortunately a RAM glutton. It along with Google Chrome used to make my laptop hard to use. Nuclide software has not been in active development since a while.

All Round Text Editor

Kommentare: An extremely powerful text editor for all kinds of programming languages if you are willing to spend enough time on tweaking the plugins.

Vorteile:

Atom is an elegant software for all kinds of programming languages, such as Python, HTML, CSS, Shell script, etc. It's lightweight, but can be powered up by a bunch of useful plugins. You will find it's very easy to get on with it.

Nachteile:

It has to be supported by plugins and tweaks needed. Not very friendly for beginners.

Great free customizable IDE

Vorteile:

Atom is a good looking and free IDE that is great for application development and writing scripts. Customizing Atom works perfectly.

Nachteile:

I can't think of anything that I don't like about Atom.

Review for Atom Editor

Kommentare: I'm well satisfied with this product and i would encourage everyone to use this. This software is easy to use and installation procedure is very simple.

Vorteile:

This software has many packages and auto indentation features which helps the coders to have enhanced readability and experience. Also it has multiple themes which helps us to use the software better

Nachteile:

The Color Designs are really very Plain and it also has a very long loading time

Atom IDE

Vorteile:

You are able to customize every aspect of the text editor for your needs, even out of the box, atom is feature-rich and intuitive to work in.\ Github integration is great from a workflow perspective.

Nachteile:

there haven't been many updates recently, can occasionally be resource-heavy

A great open source IDE

Vorteile:

I have been using this for years but recently switched to VSCode recently. I am however considering to move back to it as I don't like the too many auto features of VSCode

Nachteile:

There is nothing which I dislike. Very clean and easy to use IDE
