Still the best despite all the competition out there.

Kommentare: I use it regularly though not as much as Illustrator. It does the job and makes things look beautiful and nice with the right steps. I tried to not use Adobe but I can't, it's engrained into half the things I do in a day,

Vorteile:

It's just as good as it used to be. Easy, intuitive. Good for PDFs, books and syncs well with what the printers also use.

Nachteile:

Nothing. It's just a useful application which hasn't changed much over the years, and I hope it doesn't.

The only choice for print design!

Kommentare: Indesign is so easy to use but like other Adobe apps, it's really powerful.

Vorteile:

Started using Indesign from the first version, I never really got on with Quark and pushed my agency to Adopt it.

Nachteile:

I think it's pretty great to be honest, I'm using a slightly older version due to my older setup.

You cannot upload anything

Kommentare: Terrible. It doesn't work. Again, no matter what file I try to upload to InDesign, it will take it.

Vorteile:

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing

Nachteile:

I have been trying to upload a pdf book to InDesign for weeks, unsuccessfully.

Go-to for page layout - Adobe Indesign

Adobe has always been my go-to for page layout. It integrates with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Fonts. I can seamlessly move from one application to the next, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Nachteile:

It requires an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, which can be expensive for freelancers or small businesses.

Easy styles and grids for professional printed materials.

Kommentare: I use Indesign daily and I think it is great for designing any print material. Using styles for text and paragraphs, means you can work fast and make edits to full documents quickly and easily. The grid layouts means you can keep everything aligned properly and keep your looking profesional.

Vorteile:

Easy-to-use design software for setting up booklets, 48 sheets and any other printed material. Great for setting up grid systems, and also styles for text and paragraphs. It works well with all the other adobe software and makes designing print easy and stress free.

Nachteile:

Some of the design features from illustrator would be useful to be able to use in indesign. I think the rounded corners option should be easier to access and the way it is in illustrator would make it better.

Design Your Best with Indesign

Kommentare: Overall, Adobe Indesign is great way to design across a wide variety of media formats. Even for a quick sketch, I turn to Indesign to do the layout and print out a concept for meetings with C level execs.

Vorteile:

As this product has developed, you can tell the development team is listening to the average end-user. The controls are becoming more intuitive. This has helped me increase my productivity and complete projects in a timely manner.

Nachteile:

The overall cost was initially (as part of CC) felt a little steep. But once you realize you are getting live updates as the rollout and you're not having to download huge new releases, it's worth the investment.

Very good but ongoing payments

Kommentare: Overall I love InDesign and will use it weekly. This software has got me in the room with millionaires and has changed the look of my business. I will continue to recommend it to all of my associates.

I love that I am able to create professional proposals for my business. Being in government contracting requires professional quotes and Adobe InDesign allows me to do that with ease.

Nachteile:

They don't have tutorials to teach you how to use features. That would make the software that much better.

Vorteile:

I like how Adobe InDesign is fully integrated into the Adobe Suite (Adobe Creative Cloud). After you learn to navigate the tool, the ability to create high-level content that has reliable access, several import/exporting mediums, and access to various assets is a major plus for InDesign.

Nachteile:

There is a bit of a learning curve with Adobe InDesign. You don't need to necessarily pay for training as there are numerous free trainings and DIY videos to learn from.

Experienced designer's go to for print design.

Kommentare: I've been working with Adobe InDesign since it came out and have always been impressed. I've used it for years creating for both print and digital for everything form 300 page books to business cards and flyers.

Vorteile:

InDesign is the ultimate tool for laying out designs that are a combination of images and copy and is particularly great for text-heavy designs. There's a little bit of a learning curve because some of the features are more advanced, but this is what makes InDesign great - you have more design flexibility, more tools for consistency, and better layout tools.

Nachteile:

I really like everything about InDesign.

Best tool for print design, but needs better UI

Vorteile:

I work in InDesign daily creating pieces to be sent to print. It is a massively powerful tool, I feel like I learn new features and shortcuts every day. It is almost more powerful than the average user can appreciate or utilize.

Nachteile:

This program is not intuitive. And InDesign files cannot be edited by anyone who does not have their own subscription and a full working knowledge of the platform. I believe many users will shift to Canva for the UI and collaboration benefits alone. InDesign, however, still remains the absolute best tool for sending long-form print products to production. Canva cannot produce full books.

Still Worth Every Penny

Kommentare: I am more than happy with Adobe InDesign. I love that Adobe is constantly innovating, which makes me feel content with the subscription model. For a few years I had been more comfortable with the idea of purchasing actual software (back when it came in a physical box!), but the hassle of having to buy new software every couple of years got old. In this technology age, we as professional designers have to stay on top of innovations, and Adobe keeps the tools updated so I can in turn innovate in my creative field.

Vorteile:

I have been using InDesign on a daily basis ever since Adobe donated software to my student-run college newspaper in 1999. That donation opened the door to exploring a world of print layout that I never knew existed, and eventually led to a career in graphic design. InDesign is the main tool in my tool belt, and without it I would have a different occupation altogether. Some people like to complain about the price point, but when you consider a) the value it provides creatives as a tool b) the innovation required by Adobe over decades to produce and constantly refine the software, and c) the lack of a comparatively robust or functional alternative for the design professional, it's a wonder that it's as cheap as it is.

Nachteile:

I wish InDesign had a chart-making tool. Illustrator has one, but it is in dire need of updating.

Great software for design

It's a minor pet peeve but I have always hated adding images and accidently cropping them if I havent selected the correct button rather than resizing

Adobe InDesign is a Great Program

Kommentare: Overall, Adobe InDesign is an effective program that allows me to accomplish what I need.

Adobe InDesign is perfect for creating posters and flyers for the business.

Nachteile:

One downfall is that there is no photo editing allowed in InDesign which would be helpful when I need a quick edit.

Vorteile:

I'll just be honest, I'm in love with Indesign, thanks to this program I found my passion for editorial design. I don't understand how many people don't like to use it, or simply aesthetically speaking, it doesn't appeal to them. For me it is the opposite, I am very happy with the way it is organized, visually it has a clean and spacious look that does not interrupt you with what you are designing, I like the default work tables, the tools you have to streamline the work of the layout designer, etc. 10/10

Nachteile:

I don't like that automatically the quality of the images is lower than the original, because it is difficult to know if the image is like that because of performance or because the image is really in very low quality, but I understand that it is a way to speed up the performance of the file.

Adobe InDesign in the Professional Services world

Vorteile:

I've been using Adobe Id for the last 10-15 years, focused on building books, reference manuals, and templated posters for our clients. What I like most about Id is the master pages, you can easily keep your pages consistent with margins, logos, text, and background colors. I am just now getting into the Interactive elements which look pretty cool and I can see some applications of how we might use it at our work.

Nachteile:

You know, Id is a pretty robust tool for publishing printed and interactive web content. I would only say the links panel can get a little convoluted when you move folders and content around. Besides that I would highly recommend it.

The best graphic software for articles and books

Kommentare: Adobe inDesign as for power and for functionality is the best software for graphic design and if you use with Illustrator and Photoshop you can really discover the power of this software

Vorteile:

I like the facility to use as I’m not an expert with adobe suite, but indesign is very easy and understandable

Nachteile:

Maybe I would change something in the interface, as it is very confusing and sometimes I struggle to find a tool or just the text tool

Extremely Helpful

Vorteile:

Adobe InDesign gets the job done everytime. You do need a small amount of computer skills to use this program, but it provides an excellent product.

Nachteile:

There are a ton of extra tools and objects and some of they're functions can be unclear.

Love using indesign

Vorteile:

Indesign is incredibly versatile piece of software, from creating social media graphics to designing for print it makes it easy to do and really helps with our consistency of brand output.

Nachteile:

Nothing major that causes us any issues, it is by far the best adobe software to use

Expensive but powerful software for designing portfolios

Vorteile:

Powerful software that takes a lot of the busywork out of publication by doing it automatically for you. Keeps swatches nicely organised so you can keep a coherent design throughout.

Nachteile:

There are quirks to it that work completely differently to other adobe products. They should be more transferrable than they currently are. For instance, resizing images should work the same across the adobe suite but it works completely differently in indesign.

InDesign for Marketing

Vorteile:

InDesign is an excellent design tool to use when working on long-format design. I use it daily for anything from long-format publication design to social media graphics and it easily adapts to help me work on anything in between.

Nachteile:

Some of the features to expedite your work take some time to learn, I wish it was more intuitive to learn shortcuts.
