Bewertung des Programmes Thunderbird

Kommentare: Zusammenfassend ist Thunderbird ein sehr gutes Mailprogramm für Firmen und Privatanwender.

Vorteile:

Man kann selber bestimmen, wie Thunderbird aussieht (zumindest so mindestens 10%).

Nachteile:

Leider ist es nicht immer ganz so einfach Emails hinzuzufügen. Da würde ich mir wünschen, das man dann bei @web.de auf die web.de Anmeldeseite weitergeleitet wird, und nicht das in Thunderbird eingeben muss wo man auch nicht drauf hingewiesen wird, das man bei web.de z.B. noch was einstellen muss, damit das geht.

Anpassungsfähig und leistungsstark

Vorteile:

Man kann ziemlich alles anpassen Das Handling auch grosser Mengen an Emails per IMAP gelingt problemlos und schnell

Nachteile:

zuviele Optionen, manche User kann es verwirren Manche User vermissen die Integration in Softwaresuiten

Kostenloses aber nicht überzeugend

Kommentare: Thunderbird ist ein kostenloses Programm, welches dem privaten Nutzer sicherlich gefallen dürfte.Wir hatten das Problem, das alle Mails im Posteingang am nächsten Tag gelöscht waren. Woran das lag konnten wir nicht ermitteln.

Awesome and Free Email App

The Best Opensource Mail Client.

Kommentare: I love the new modern look that ships with Thunderbird and the support for dark theme.

Vorteile:

Am an opensource lover and the fact that thunderbird has been my mail client for years.

Nachteile:

The email configuration can be made simple that what is being currently offered for custom domains.

Not the best e-mail software

Vorteile:

I think the main thing I can say that I like about Thunderbird is that it is free. That's probably the only positive thing I have to say.

Nachteile:

I haven't really worked with any email software that have been as clunky and hard to use as Thunderbird. Would certainly not recommend!

One of the Best Email Management Tools

Kommentare: I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird in a daily basis for years. I have seen how committed Mozilla Thunderbird team is to keep Thunderbird updated with the latest technologies and features. My experience is great so far andI totally recommend it to my clients.

Vorteile:

I like the user interface, the add-ons and extensions, and how easy is to manage emails from my different online properties and domain names.

Nachteile:

There is no cons. Mozila Thunderbird is great.

So much nicer to use than Outlook!

Kommentare: I probably use less than 20% of what it can do, but that's all I need. Multiple email accounts, smart message handling, a decent filter system, easy spam controls, it all just works. Even when I've had ten or more email addresses to manage for different clients, it's been up to the job and easy to use.

Vorteile:

It's been my go-to desktop email client for twenty years.

Nachteile:

Adding in calendar and task list to compete with Outlook was unnecessary.

Thunderbird Review

Vorteile:

We use this to email different departments within our company. This set up can avoid sending messages to wrong accounts outside the company.

Nachteile:

I have no any problem in using this tool.

Best Desktop Email Application

Kommentare: This is probably the email you want if you want desktop email. It'll be around forever and it'll always work.

Vorteile:

This is a best-of-class, open source and Free Software desktop email client that works very well with all necessary email protocols.

Nachteile:

It is clunky and the UI less polished or trendy than some other applications - for me this is a good thing.

Best for multiple emails

Vorteile:

Haven't found a better alternative to manage dozens of emails in one spot. Differentiates each of them in a much better way than others.

Nachteile:

No native integration with google calendar, have to use a plugin, but still wish the calendar had a better overview.

An open source great email client

Kommentare: I've been a Thunderbird user from so many years, I trid some other software for the purpose of experiment and comparison, but I've always switched back to it.

Vorteile:

Thunderbird is full of features, customizable with addons and themeable. It has all the features you'd expect from a mail client, much better than some other commercial softwares: advanced search and filters, archiving, automatic message filtering, OpenPGP keys management, grouping by conversation, calendar with alerts, and many others.

Nachteile:

At the moment of writing, you can not order your accounts in the sidebar unless you install one of the dedicated addons.

Thunderbird for Mac OS Provides an Affordable Email Solution

Kommentare: I am generally satisfied with Thunderbird and have been using it now for 4-5 years. It provides an affordable solution that is relatively easy to use. It doesn't always integrate well with Microsoft SSO email, but that is mostly due to the inflexibility of the IT decision-makers on the other end.

Vorteile:

Having a free email client is essential for our small startup.

Nachteile:

Event notifications popup and often do not close when I click dismiss or prompt me to update the event. This mostly occurs if I am responding to the prompt after the event as opposed to before.

Managing Nonprofit Theatre Communications for Cast and Crew

Kommentare: As stage manager for a small, non-profit theatre troupe, I used Thunderbird to create and manage an email group for every production. I can easily copy and rename my list for a new production, edit out non-participants, and add new ones. Contact suggestion cuts my work in half, and assists me in recalling numerous names. When I need to quickly communicate a schedule change, script addition, or weather cancellation, a few letters in the address box bring up my email group list immediately. File folder organization is simple and practical, and allows me to manage productions past and present in detail.

Vorteile:

Thunderbird simplifies our communication with director, cast and crew of every production. Group email lists are manageable and user-friendly.

Nachteile:

I would appreciate the ability to easily export my group lists so that our director could personally address the group.

I do not understand all of the hype around Thunderbird. I find it clunky, slow and barely usable.

Kommentare: Overall my experience has been pretty awful. As has that of my employees. We all find Thunderbird incredibly clunky and unwieldy. It also looks like it's from 1995. Which wouldn't necessarily be a problem if the interface wasn't so messy and cluttered. I would have expected to sacrifice aesthetics for usability, but it turns out with Thunderbird you sacrifice both aesthetics, simplicity AND usability/workflow. I will continue to give Thunderbird a chance as I need a client that is compatible with Protonmail Bridge, but I will likely jump ship back to Protonmail in the near future.

Vorteile:

There are a lot of add-ons (although the ones I have - Conversations and Quick Text - do not function smoothly). There are a lot of options to sort emails in different folders and the client is highly customizable.

Nachteile:

Thunderbird, from my experience, is incredibly slow and buggy. There are constant glitches that seriously affect workflow. For example, emails I click on randomly go back to unread automatically, meaning I have to click on them several times to mark them as read again. Other times, when I'm responding to an email, the email will suddenly disappear, but it will be marked as read, so I'll have to search through all of my emails to find the correct one again. When I click from one inbox to another, some of the time a random email will be selected and marked as read. I then have to right click this email and mark is as unread as the one it selects generally isn't the one I intend to respond to. These glitches mean I constantly have to mark emails as read/unread, but there is no button on the dashboard to do this (there is with Thunderbird Conversations, but it doesn't work half the time), so in between writing emails is usually one or two times of having to right click>mark>unread/read. Again, breaking up the work flow. By default, Thunderbird doesn't show your replies inline. So in order to see your most recent reply, you have to go to your sent folder. Luckily, there is an add-on - Conversations - that fixes this. However, this add-on comes with its own bunch of issues. Namely, half the time when you repond, the reply won't be shown automatically inline (for at least several minutes). I've run out of space now, but you get the point.

Vorteile:

Thunderbird is really easy to use and install. It supports all the mail types and can be configured easily. Furthermore, it supports more than one email which can be quite interesting to manage multiple email inboxes at one place!

Nachteile:

Sometimes, the notifications are delayed or requires manual refresh to get new mails.

Free and useful

Kommentare: I like it. It is smooth and very fast.

Vorteile:

It is working very well. When you add your email address, it sets up everything for you. There are a lot of extensions that you can add functionalities to Thunderbird. As it has a lot of users, it is bugless

Nachteile:

I do not know why they have separated outgoing server settings in another section from the account setting. The search and filter are not very functional, and I could not find my desired result from it. Maybe it is my mistake, So at least it is not user-friendly enough to learn and work with.

Good free email management software

Vorteile:

Thunderbird is totally free as it's developed by Mozilla, so you won't pay any subscription fees. You can manage multiple email inboxes from one interface and open each email in a separate tab within the software interface.

Nachteile:

I think they should develop the right to left (RTL) editing function to be fully compatible with RTL Languages, when I write a message in Arabic I notice that dots at the end of phrases are reversed and moved to the beginning, the Arabic phrases are also messed up when writing English word within them.

Free to use and highly customizable

Kommentare: For many years I used Thunderbird as my primary email server for business purposes. It is a very complete tool and free to use but I currently use other more up-to-date tools.

Vorteile:

It allows you to customize many aspects of the inbox, as well as the templates and privacy and security options.

Nachteile:

Its use is less widespread than that of other email servers.

Robust email client.

Kommentare: One of the most well rounded email clients and beats Outlook by a mile and then some!

Vorteile:

Open source, Mozilla-made, feature rich. What's not to like! I used Mozila Thunderbird for a good 7 years before moving to Protonmail. Too many features to love to list. Ability to integrate with Protonmail is a plus as well.

Nachteile:

The fact that this is a local client. Iwas needing cloud access to mails and my webmail was not cutting it. Also, setting up encryption was a bit tedious. Hence, had to move to Protonmail.

Great free email client, lacks a slick UI but it's very customizable

Kommentare: While it's ugly, it's still my go-to email application when I'm not using the web. It has every single feature I want from an email client.

Vorteile:

I like that it's free and open source, and it's incredibly customizable. There's a ton of community extensions that are available to be installed with minimal setup.

Nachteile:

The UI is incredibly outdated. It looks like 20 year old software.
